As ive been looking arround there is hard to find an app for best oc/uv performance.
I used setcpu for sometime but it kinda slows down whole system. Is it only me or this is common issue? I get much better everyday performance with no-frills
Ok so im currently using nofrills, but it doesnt offer undervolting which id like to achieve.
Anybody knows any alternative for it?
Im using arhd 3.4 with guevors 21.4 kernel
Thank u guys for ur help!
i use Voltage Control
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ontrol&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
I believe nstools is included in the build. If its not you can get that from the market and I believe it does the UV settings.

I'm using Antutu CPU Master Free from the Market.

so i just bought this phone from a friend, he had it rooted when i bought it, seems every kernel i try the max is always at 1000 instead of higher options and my governor scaling does not let me choose any options as well, tried 2 different kernels and same for both any ideas how to fix, would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried pimpmycpu? For some reason set CPU doesn't work

Buy and use pimp my cpu.
Set cpu doesn't seem to work with this phone for now for what ever reason.
Sent from my G2x running Bionix 2 with the power of Trinity.
There is a free version of pimp my cpu somewhere I here.
The developer of that app post it somewhere else I this forums. Is ok to download it from this forums for free.

I tryed it once and didn't seem to work it didn't have any goveners to choose from either.or maybe I just ain't used to it ill try again thanks for the reply.I thought maybe he messed something up in the root process
Probably the dual core is messing with setcpu and it needs an update for it to work properly. I could be wrong but that's my guess. Are u using a custom rom that allows for oc? Cm7 has a setting for it so no need for an app to control it

governor
I tryed pimp my CPU.seams to overclock but governor has no choices is it just me or is everyone's like that?
tegra2 controls the governers so they dont give you the option to change as of yet, that is untill one of our genious devs figures a way around that as well.
I see thanks for letting me know that. thought something was wrong on my end
If I have CM7 #54, do I need a special kernel or not?
SetCPU is not detecting the frequencies for me
I am using CPUMaster but I have the free version only
What is the best software to overclock automatically?
I also want profiles (Battery temp, battery %, screen off...)
In Quadrant I got 3000 points with 1.5Ghz
Now I only need to find a way to overclock it and have all the profiles and boot overclock work right out of the box
Thanks a lot
Sooooo you over clocked to it to 1.5, but yet you still need to find a way to do it?? Read..... all the answers are in this very section....
Oh by the way wrong section to post.

ok first set cpu will not be able to oc for you. use pimp my cpu you should be able to find it if you do a search. second if you want to oc use faux's kernel for that.

4500 with faux rom 1.2.4 and 0.2.2 kernel.

I used SetCPU before on my OptimusT, and it was actually working pretty good, BUT NOT ON LGE STAR. For now, the best overlocking app for LGE STAR is PimpMyCPU WITH CUSTOMIZED KERNEL.
With FR and Faux's kernel, you can easily get 4000+ on Quadrant.
With GB and its own kernel, I think we just get like 3000+
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
Oh 1 more thing, T-mobile doesn't release the GB update for LGE Star yet. The CM project is built based on the GB source code only...

Use pimp my cpu, setcpu doesn't let you overclock. It only shows your cpu speed but nothing else.

I thoroughly tested OC on CM with different kernels. I got the best results with the Trinity kernel. My highest recorded Quadrant score was 4920 and I averaged 4690 over 10 trials with that configuration.

What do you think is the best OC/UV app ? If so can you also post the recommendations ? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
There's been thousands of posts, not sure of threads, in the forum regarding this.
Tegrak OC seems to be the most popular though. Most tend to stay away from SetCPU.
I personally never OC or UV. I find that my speed and battery life are perfectly acceptable.
Yeah tegrak seems to be what everyone uses. I stay away from OCing though because i don't really see the purpose of OCing just for browsing the web, text messaging, Facebook, twitter, and YouTube. The phones really smooth already. I'm probably going to UV though to get a little better battery life.

You can't oc with set CPU without an overclock kernel
sent from my real Gs move in silence like lasagna
Tegrak Ultimate since it allows OC/UV with a kernel module as opposed to requiring a OC/UV kernel.

What's the difference?

For this phone tegrak is the best with the most control paid version is well worth it
at first this phone relied on overclocking but months later it is no longer needed imo, i just stay at 1000 mhz stock with undervolting and my phone feels as smooth as a 1.2 thank you gingerbread lol
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
I use tegraq (paid) version to UC.. everything is so smooth now, the UC gives battery life and my quadscore is still in the 2500 range.
TegraK
Hi,
I'm interested only in UV, since my phone is super fast with Valhalla 1.1 ROM
and Adrenaline Shot X, but i drain my battery every day!
can you please explain -
1. can i undervolt using the free edition of tegrak ?
2. do i need to replace the kernel or can i work with tegrak app out of the box?
i didn't get that.
Thanks !
Well I just downloaded Taegrak ultimate, but it seems like my values will never stay ! I tried setting my CPU Lv 0 to 1000,1165,1055 but it'll always revert back to normal. Sometimes I'll catch a glimpse of "Targrak has unexpectedly.."
Hello i have just flashed revolution HD on here
And just wondering if i should let it be what overclock settings would be good as it has daemon config installed any way just wondering where to go from a new flash
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda premium
Thread moved to Q&A. Also, I am not sure I understand your question.
Well mostly like what setting should i use too gain both decent battery life and the best preformance, androidrevolutionHD is what i just flashed and the kernal im using is 2.6.36.4-g6aa10ba [email protected] #20111023
Is there a differnt kernal i use or an app to have better control of overclocking maybe what settings are best...

Get setcpu from the market, max out the slider both way (100 min, 1500 max) and set it on either interactive or ondemand, those are good for battery savings.
You can review what the governors do here;
http://www.everythingabouttablets.net/2012/01/22/android-overclocking-governors-explained/
The TF will take 1500mhz pretty stable, I don't recall ever getting a freeze up or random reboot with my clock settings maxed out.
And see my signature for a good noob guide.
Hi guys i can someone tell me if can overclock?
Just tell what to do...I want to overclock it to play heavy games like mc4 and nova without much lag
I have the rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1629307
-___- It's simple. Download any of apps like those for example; AnyCPU, No-Frills CPU Control and Voltage Control. But the problem is actually in GPU service; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191468 but you must have both root and CWM recovery (CWMR is to back up your firmware and user data).
EDIT: With this GPU tweak and GPU video tweaks in build.prop, Minecraft is pretty smooth.
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA
thanks!!! i already did the gpu tweaks from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2191468
now i'm going to install the apps you said but if i change kernel won't i have better results?
but i don't know what kernel to use...
I hope i was clear i'm portuguese
Of course u need to flash a kernel that supports over clocking. And then use set cpu to tweak

Can you recommend me one ?
For the starter, if you are on the CyanogenMod 10 Jelly Beans port and its derivatives, iodak kernel for one. At full throttle, it roars by at 1.3 GHz but you may try undervolt it a bit (due to CPU heats) - mine's at 1.25 V at 1.3 GHz so go for 1.275 V for better chance.

I'm on stock gingerbread...any advices?
Ah, I see. I will look - even though the development on Gingerbread ROM have slowed down a bit.
EDIT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23629242 - even though this kernel is discontinued, it's good. I used this one before I decided to ditch Gingerbread for Jelly Beans (due to better VSync service required by some games but I personally think you will do fine with Gingerbread though. And note this kernel's maximum CPU frequency support - 1.4 GHz.)
