[Q] CyanogenMod 7 - General Questions and Answers

I've just installed CyanogenMod 7 on my Samsung Galaxy s2 and it's pretty cool but I need to know where are the apk files stored from the market and apk files that i've copied over from kies. When I connect the phone to my lappy I can see the apk files that I've copied but cant find them on the phone to install. I install everything on the internal sdcard because I dont as yet have an external sdcard. I'll just give a quick example, I just copied over to the phone a android data on/off widget, it's there when I view the phone on my lappy but cant find it in the phone and yes you can all call me a noob but i'm all new to this great thing so please help cos i'm going mad here.

Well.... Sorry I suggest searching XDA through GOOGLE and read the other hundred posts and suggested fixes regarding the issue. Try the different methods mentioned. There is one guy 'ODIA' that I have read, and seems to be the only one, who can fix this issue. But you have to pay him, give him access to your computer and the sensitive info on your phone. I tried helping somebody with about a dozen methods and none of them worked for him. But he had a null IMEI (all 0's) and his phone still worked.

One option is to flash to complete stock and take your phone to T-Mobile. Tell them it happened when using Kies mini to upgrade to GB. I read over and over that it has happened to people during that process which would not be your fault and they should help you fix it.
Good Luck!
ty for you time
i didwhat you say and they ask me if i have a phone line whit them ofcourse i dont so they say " just clients can have help from us , and i recomend you to TRASH that phone its TOO OLD!!!!!"
so ive make a guru thing transplan a nv_data.bin from a galaxy ACE to this and see what happend .

[Q] Please help !

Ok I installed ICS on my Xperia X8 but the problem is that when I reboot my phone I can't enter xRecovery I didn't look at the installation instructions about ICS so I installed like this:
I put the zip in my sd card
I rebooted my phone
I made a full wipe
Then I installed ICS
I found a thread on the the XDA forums on how to fix the xRecovery bug on ICS (that I can't enter it) but when I connect my phone yo my computer It doesn't shows me to mount my sd card.
How can I connect my phone to my computer whit ICS on Xperia X8 ?

[Q] sdCard not working after CM10 ROM install

Hello to all.
This is my first post. I have just installed CM10 on my Sprint Galaxy S3 SPH-L710 phone. I notice that my information contained on the sdCard is not being read. I can look at the pictures. In the Storage portion of the settings, I notice that the sdCard "usage meter" is blank (grey). When i install the card in my laptop, I see all of the files.
Is there a fix for this or should I install a new ROM? I installed the latest version from this site (8-23-2012)
Please help and yes I am a Rookie with this. But I appreciate all of the information here, and yes I SEARCHED for an ANSWER prior to posting this question:fingers-crossed:
Blessings
Just FYI this is the Verizon S3 forum.
And you can't browse your card thru the settings>storage menu. You need to use a file browser like astro or es file explorer. You can also use the one that's already on your phone called my files.
And it may be worth knowing that it is September, not August. The latest build of CM10 as of this writing for SPH-L710 is cm-10-20120914-NIGHTLY-d2spr.zip according to get.cm. Perhaps that SDcard issue has been addressed since the 23rd of August

deleted legacy folder, now no more DCIM

I downgraded from 4.2 to 4.1 on my s3 and noticed I started to get the message of low space. but I knew it was only using 4GB. long story short, i was dumb and deleted the folder outside of sdcard0 called legacy and it said cant delete, bu then I went to my gallery and it was all gone :crying::crying::crying:
I know windows recovery programs wont work because of the MTP deal, but has anyone found a solution? I know there was some type of ADB dump method but i am not too sure about like a timeline as to how long after I can do it, post delete of the images. I am so sad to see everything gone, and know i need to back stuff up but I mean I was wondering if I could just somehow recover at least pictures from the past few days.
thanks guys
Any input at all?

[Completed] [Q] Kitkat update cant delete files in microSD?

Hi! Hope you guys could help me on this one. Recently i updated my Note 2 LTE N7105 to Kitkat 4.4.2. ROOTED. one time I noticed that i couldn't delete big files such as movies on my 64gb microSD. I could move it to different folders but i couldnt delete it. one more thing i noticed was that i could delete small files such as an mp3. but when i try to delete a folder that contains mp3's it wouldnt allow me to. I did some reading and i found out that this is because of the Kitkat for whatever security changes they made. Although i tried to do it on my laptop using a MicroSD adapter and i was able to delete files. but still its a hassle to remove the microsd from the device from time to time. i was wondering if i should just go back to JBean 4.3 or is there a way to resolve this issue. thanks for your time.
Hi,
You will find the your device specific q&a thread here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2
But as this may be an issue beyond just your note 2 you may consider asking your question in the general q&a thread found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
Either place should more than likely get you an answer
Best of luck!
