On dialer I tap *#*#.....blah blah blah, enter test in mode, then info, then clic update buttons (the two on the bottom)
AND I ALWAYS GET IN THE TEXTBOX SMSC "00" without quotes.....
What is wrong with my i9023 bought in switzerland?????? Is a bug of android or a fa tory bug related TO HW?
Should i use the warranty after relocking the bootloader obviuosly?
Maybe i can throw it out of the Window
PS my Sim works perfectly on other phones, but this problem is frustrating because i have a great phone that can not send SMS!!!
Heelp!!!
Love samsung
If you're trying to tap on dialer the combo to see your data info from the mobile service like: *#123# it won't work, is a known bug on nexus and there aren't any solution for that.
On sending sms is really strange, if u're using a custom rom, just ask about this on the Rom topic.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum
Have you tried a hard reset?
when exactly does it hit enter?
Same Issue
I am having the same problem, and yes I have done a hard reset. I bought the tilt used from ebay and it was a mess when I got it.
While texting or entering text anywhere for that matter it seems as though the keyboard is automatically inserting an "enter" or "return" so the next letters appear on the next line down.
The same thing occurs when trying to use the address bar in PIE or enter login information for messengers/email accounts. I am thinking it is a hardware issue, but any help would be appreciated.
for example, a text message would look like this:
From:
To:
Hel
l
O
ho
w
a
re y
o
u
tod
a
y
It seems to insert it randomly and also randomly "enter" in the address bar, example: when trying to go to google.com, it will end after "g" and be searcing for http://g/
EXACTLY
Mine does the exact same thing and ive hard reset and everything.
any sollution to this problem ? In my TYTN II jogg- button doesn't work too. Maybe there is a connection with this .
I found that jogg button was broken. Now everything is fine.
Hi,
I'm just wondering where I can change my Provider Settings for the SMS-Service in Cyanogen-Mod.
Thx
Jubei
What exactly do you mean by "provider settings"? If you're reffering to the SMS center number of your operator, that can be changed by the hidden menu in the phone:
1. Open PHONE dialer (not working with some alternative dialers so that's why I've said to use the original Android dialer)
2. Dial (as a number): *#*#4636#*#*
3. Wait a sec till you got the hidden menu
4. Choose Phone Information
5. Scroll down to SMSC (SMS Center)
6. Either press Refresh or type in the SMS Center number from your operator, then press Update
7. Press "back" buton on your phone till you reach homescreen again
Note: Pressing Update without having something in that field, will efectively erase the actual stored number (if any). No SMS will be send in that case
Thank you so very much you just helped me big time.
It is not working at all with me
Dear All,
I have just tried all those steps
when I write the smsc in the testing application and click update it is stored in a strange format like this Number,129 ... what ever i entered it in the pdu format or the 12 number format it is not working
I have tried to put my sim card in a simple nokia phone and it is working there but not on my galaxy tab
Please help
I was using my SGS (i9000 galaxymtd) just for media, internet, game etc purposes, in other words, not as a phone as i own a HOX, however, since i have dropped my HOX a couple of days ago and got a broken display, had to leave it for repair and came back to my SGS. Apart from the spontaneous reboot -on its own- issues which could be endured for a short period of time, but sms (?). I am trying to keep my SGS alive thanks to CM, and now i am really surprised (badly of course) how such an important, even one of the main parts of a mobilephone usage could be disregarded by CM. I have tried the solution adviced above, with no success; tapping on "update" button after entering smsc number turns "error", refresh button puts "00" (doubled zero) into that field, nothing else happens. Surprisingly i can receive sms, but sending is not possible. "Sms service center" should be somewhere in settings in sms application, or somewhere under network settings in general, but no, nowhere. Really annoying. Since i will not use CM as my daily driver, i do not really care actually, but just wondering; 1) is it only me who simply cannot find it, 2) how to fix it?

I have a OnePlus One A0001 CyanogenMod version 11.0-XNPH44S Android version 4.4.4, and have that exact same problem. I've tried with 4 different text-messaging apps, did the Testing hidden menu thing (no error after doing Update, it just did nothing), and still if my phone is not online (either wifi or data), it will not send (or receive for me) any SMS.

hy guys, actually i just lost these setting can you tell me how to revert it back without reflashing rom? *#*#4636#*#* i cant use that too
I believe the previous owner of my new atrix 2 unsuccessfully tried to unlock the phone 10 times and now it will not take the correct subsidy code which I purchased. I am not overly familiar with android and have read some things on xda about other phone having this problem solved but nothing about the atrix 2 itself. Is there a software of hardware solution to this problem?
Don't know how it is on A2 but for Blackberry, after trying 10 times of wrong code phone wil be locked forever. You need to unlock it by hardware solution.
Is it saying "Subsidy locked" with no option to enter the code? If yes, the phone is hard locked and you will NEVER be allowed to enter a code again. You will need to find someone that has a hardware unlocking solution using special software.
I realize that it is hard locked however I am unable to find a hardware solution. Does anyone know of any specific location or hardware that can accomplish this?

There are hardware solutions like this and this that have worked on phones in the past. It's anyone's guess as to whether these would fit and work on our phone.
Thats a bummer cellunlocker.net said
WARNING : If one of theses messages appear :
- "Contact Service Provider"
- "Tampert Alter"
- "Wait before enter special Code"
- "Contact Service'
It's because you or somebody allready enter too many wrong codes, you just have to let phone ON on theses errors messages and after 40 min to 2 hours maximum the message "Enter Code Special" will appear again !
Not sure if this helps but could not hurt.....
OK,
A time back i had the same problem with my Samsung captivate. I flashed a new room and the counter reset itself. You could try that and see whether that works.
Here is the fix for this error message. If you get this error vsncp error with a number after it . Goto phone mode bring up the dial pad enter ##3282# . This will bring up another screen data settings. Click on data profile. If your username looks like this than you need to edit the parameter. Firstname [email protected] PCs.com P Cs.com . It should only have one .com. So your [email protected] pcs.com only. To edit click in the too right hand corner on the small squares. A edit option will appear click on it. Password is 030490 click verify edit the field click done. Restart your phone and verify by re running the first steps of the tutorial. Enjoy
Update after I made this change I still had another error. So I called customer service there is a software patch that motorola will soon be releasing. I have set my phone to cdma only . I will update again in a few days with any updates.
unfortunately i have done this and the error still pops up sometimes... others have said the same thing. also i think that code is only for your device, everyone has to find out their own 6-digit MSL for their phones. thanks for posting this here tho!
i just received a new error a little while ago, unless it is basically the same error with different wording:

This was the fix for MMS not sending over 3G/4G....that error still comes up even after changing the data profile....but it has slowed down recentlly I really haven't seen that error in a while
Thanks for the fix, this has been driving me nuts. Sadly it's intermittent, so I'm not sure how to confirm if this works...
Being a newbie, I have tried checking for other threads in the forum, such as this one:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3708706
But none of them seem to have the same problem as I have been experiencing with my Galaxy S8+.
Some time last year, I have broken my phone screen. I had it insured, so I sent it out to repair. It came back two months later, with a new screen, yes, but my headphone jack, USB-C ports and microphone were not working, so I sent it out again to an authorized service provider I've seen from Samsung's website that was nearby, hoping to have it serviced in warranty.
The other provider had glued my phone together with hot glue. So not only was water resistance compromised (should it have worked well in the first place), as I have lost my warranty even though Samsung quality insured the provider.
Beyond that, my phone doesn't really work. The IMEI is clean, wifi and bluetooth work, but even though it sometimes connects to the network by not showing "Emergency Calls Only" and the network name instead, I cannot send or receive texts, calls, etc.
I've tried everything. From restoring it using Odin, resetting it completely without using a backup, but nothing helps. There are some (really) short periods of time that it does connect to 4G, but I have no idea what I'm dealing with and since I don't have the warranty anymore, I can't have it serviced.
It is important to note that my phone hasn't been rooted.
Any ideas are welcome!
Thanks in advance

The APN solution didn't work... I don't know what's going on with it, because it sometimes does connect to the network out of the blue and I didn't mess with any setting.
I've searched around, and there might be a problem with the Knox IMEI certificate, since they've disconnected the fingerprint sensor or something, but I'm a total noob when it comes to Android.
What did you mean with "changing stuff around"?
Try this method:
1. Go to the Dial pad
2. Type in (*#*#4636#*#*) NOTE: No need to press the send button, it will automatically prompt you for the Service mode
3. Enter Service mode
4. Select “Device information” or “Phone information”
5. Select “Run Ping test”
6. Click on the “Turn Radio Off ” button and then the Galaxy will restart
7. Select reboot if necessary
There are several ways in which you can fix this issue. However, these methods are not guaranteed to work 100% of the time.
Sure it's not the sim? I've se en similar issues related to a defect simcard. New sims can easily damage if they've been in and out of a phone several times.

Yes, I've tried replacing the SIM card, and that also didn't work. My SIM worked fine on other phones, and I don't think there is a problem with the reader on the phone, considering it knows when I've inserted a SIM on it...

When I try this, it will not jump to the screen you advise, so pressing the dial, it dials as a "OnePlus One" number!
funny...
Why haven't you complained to your insurer started that the repair want satisfactory and Samsung won't honor the warranty as it was repaired badly and that you want a new phone?
