Network Unlock Unsuccessful on Atrix 2 - Motorola Atrix 2

I believe the previous owner of my new atrix 2 unsuccessfully tried to unlock the phone 10 times and now it will not take the correct subsidy code which I purchased. I am not overly familiar with android and have read some things on xda about other phone having this problem solved but nothing about the atrix 2 itself. Is there a software of hardware solution to this problem?

Don't know how it is on A2 but for Blackberry, after trying 10 times of wrong code phone wil be locked forever. You need to unlock it by hardware solution.

Is it saying "Subsidy locked" with no option to enter the code? If yes, the phone is hard locked and you will NEVER be allowed to enter a code again. You will need to find someone that has a hardware unlocking solution using special software.

I realize that it is hard locked however I am unable to find a hardware solution. Does anyone know of any specific location or hardware that can accomplish this?

There are hardware solutions like this and this that have worked on phones in the past. It's anyone's guess as to whether these would fit and work on our phone.

Thats a bummer cellunlocker.net said
WARNING : If one of theses messages appear :
- "Contact Service Provider"
- "Tampert Alter"
- "Wait before enter special Code"
- "Contact Service'
It's because you or somebody allready enter too many wrong codes, you just have to let phone ON on theses errors messages and after 40 min to 2 hours maximum the message "Enter Code Special" will appear again !
Not sure if this helps but could not hurt.....

OK,
A time back i had the same problem with my Samsung captivate. I flashed a new room and the counter reset itself. You could try that and see whether that works.

[Q] Unlocking sim card Hell

Hi there!
I just bought a SE Xperia x8. It was Locked to 3 uk.
I used a unlock online service to unlock it. Did everything right as it was in the unlocking manual. But in the end of the process the software Multi unlocking client frozed. The know the mobile doessn't recognize any sim card.
In the hiden menu the X on the network lock is not there anymore as it was unlocked.
And when I try to connect to a network the message I get is "Your sim card does not allow a connection to this network"
I rooted it changed roms and the problem persists
Can anyone help me?
The Online unlocking service wants me to by more credits and try again....
Have the same problem... any fix for this?
I just opened my own thread for exactly the same thing last night - did either of you have any luck getting this fixed?
Oh God, I remember MultiUnlocker from my Palm Pre days. What a horrid piece of software it is.
I'd recommend contacting their support division and outlining your problem. I was able to gain the necessary three credits to unlock my phone (stupid bloody thing took that many goes).
It may prove problematic that your phone is kinda 'in limbo' ie. showing unlocked but not. You should be able to input a code from the emergency dialler giving you access to the engineering menu, which will allow you to re-lock your phone, then the code should work.
I'll subscribe to the thread in case you need further advice!

[Q] Can't Unlock LG-p500

Hello everyone,
I come to you with a very strange case, which I have yet to find elsewhere on the web. I hope one of you guys can help me with this...
I'm trying to unlock my LG-p500 phone, I paid for an unlocking code and was ready to follow the instructions to unlock it. I was expecting for a window to pop after typing the first code (2945#*500#), but nothing happened, I tried to enter a different sim card from a different provider and it didn't displayed "phone restricted" as it was supposed to (according to instructions and different forums), but it simply displayed "No service" and "Emergency calls only". I also tried to type 2945#*71001# to get the menu but again... the phone didn't responded to any of these codes (I'm now observing that actually the phone does not respond to many of the secret codes of LG-p500 and Android as well, but it does responds to a number of them, such as *#*#4636#*#*)
Ever since then I've tried SO many things to work it out. I rebooted, unrooted, rooted again, formatted, recovered, installed custom roms, reverted to the original rom, software updated, I almost bricked my phone while trying to get this done but nothing seemed to work. I figured to try to get that menu in a friend's LG-p500 phone, unmodded in any possible way, and surprisingly the window to input the code still did not appeared and it didn't responded to any of the codes above.
It made me wonder of whether the provider had blocked the option of entering the codes, as me and her are with the same phone from the same provider, getting similar results.
I searched for hours for a solution to the problem but with no luck. I would really appreciate getting some help with this, as i'm totally clueless of what to do next. I will be very grateful for any response.
Much thanks!

The device's hidden menu is only accessible thru stock ROMs and the stock dialer.

I figured that, that's why I've also tried to access that menu via an unmodified LG p500 phone, which probably still runs the stock rom but I couldn't access that menu through that phone as well.
I'm starting to conclude that my phone was already unlocked from the provider itself, and perhaps that is the reason why I cannot access that menu again.
Is there a way of assuring that my phone is unlocked? I figured that I can use other sim cards from other Israeli providers, I thought there were two types of locks (that's what they told me in customer service), so if I can use sim cards from other local providers, does it mean that I can also use the phone for sim cards from international providers as well?
Thanks!

Found Mate 9 can I unlock it?

Hello guys, I'll begin by saying that I'm not english so if i make mistakes u have to forgive me. Yesterday, a friend of mine came to me by saying that he "found" a phone, which actually is a Huawei Mate 9 MHA-L29.
Now, he told me that he tried to return the phone to the police but it didn't have any SIM card in it and they just told him to keep it because they couldn't do anything. I was actually searching a good and cheap phone to buy and he told me that he can sell it to me at a nice price if i manage to unlock it, now the problems start. So when i turn it on, it hasn't any wallpaper and it wants the unlock Pin, which obviously is unknown.
Something like this happened to me a month ago with a P8 Lite which i factory resetted even if it had a pin and everything went fine.
With this phone tho, if i go to eRecovery (both buttons and start button) and press "Download lastest version and recovery" it makes me choose a wifi and then gives me "getting package info failed".
If i try Vol Down and start button, it takes me to the EMUI update i guess (I'm kinda new to these things so please understand my ignorance.) and tells me "System install failed".
Also tried to link it via USB to my PC and tried Recovery from HiSuite but i guess since the device is in "only charge" and i don't have the pin to change that, it doesn't work either.
Do you guys think is it possible to unlock it someway? I would really appreciate your help.
It could be the original owner who had lost the phone had contacted Huawei and had them disable phone, (making it useless).
debugging seems to be not enabled
password isn’t known
pin isn’t known
factory reset without removing pin/password before will not be successful!!!
as i know, this phone is fully useless for you.
BTW: bad for you, but good for all the people which have lost her phone.
If you would have the original box and bill, the HUAWEI service center can help.
Without this, you will get no help!
and at last...
How often do you think, people have "lost" her phone without sim card installed into it? Not often i think!!!
If it has the original software and recovery on it, chances are that FRP lock is still enabled so unfortunately, it's worth nothing. Maybe you guys can post it on some public ad sites and the owner will be found and give a reward.

LG G3 Can't Access Hidden Service Menu With MMI Code

Hello all, I have run into some unfortunate trouble that I'm sure many of you have heard about before. I shall start with the short and sweet for those who know about this, and then move onto a detailed description of the events and steps I've taken. Put simply, for those in the know: My phone always runs into the "Connection problem or invalid MMI code" error when attempting to access the hidden Service Menu.
The details:
My phone, an LG G3, used to be working well, without any significant issues for a significant time. Then, one day, it was acting slowly for no clear reason. I decided that a reboot would be the most likely help. When my phone came back on, it was very hot. I also noticed that I could no longer double-tap the screen to turn it on -- a feature called KnockON. This works also to turn off the screen, when on the lock or home screen. I restarted the phone and set it to cool down near a vent, hoping this would set everything as it was before. The issues remained, and those issues were that a few features, just a small handful that I observed, were switched. If they were disabled, they were turned on, and if they were enabled, they were turned off. Not many, so I dealt with all of them quickly. Examples: The battery percentage was hidden, when I had it showing. Vibrate On Tap was active, even though I leave it off. And most importantly, KnockON, a feature not in an openly accessible menu, suddenly no longer worked.
After some research, I discovered that those seeking to disable the KnockON feature can go through the Dialer, by typing in it special codes called MMI codes, which would depend on the phone model, primarily. The site stated that what needs to be entered into the Dialer is: 3845#*XXX# where XXX is the model number of the phone, or 855 is it is an international model. Apparently, this model number actually varies by Provider. AT&T uses 850, T-Mobile uses 851... This is irrelevant, but slightly interesting. By searching in the regular menus, I determine that my model number is 852. Thus, I enter the code as instructed, and receive an error message, which follows me with every future attempt I make with other codes just in case: "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
Source for the MMI code information: The article is called "How to disable KnockON (double tap to wake) on the LG G3 and other LG Android phones" but I cannot link it in my post.
Now, I've asked LG for their customer service person to help me out. After a series of live chats and calls, mostly summing up to "Hard Reset" a specialist told me that the code which I found online is wrong for my phone. Because my provider is Canadian, "3845" is not how my code is supposed to begin. Therefore I have to ask my provider, Virgin Mobile, to give me their MMI code. Virgin leads has their own agent then explain to me that they don't have any MMI codes, that this is a matter for the Manufacturer to handle. Therefore I was just led in a loop. Which one is really supposed to have this number in one of their documents somewhere? I'd imagine somebody made the system and determined how these phones are preset before customer use, including these, and that the rules can be found somewhere. This is irrelevant, as it appears I will never know.
Among the other solutions I've tried through research and suggestions by the help desk agents include:
-Going to the Mobile Networks submenu and making sure that my provider's network is properly selected (after all, the first part of the error message says "Connection problem...")
-Using a comma or a plus sign in various places when dialing in order to use their supposed ability to force the MMI code to go through by ignoring the error message (the comma never had any effect, and the plus sign failed with a disconnecting call)
-Restarting my phone
-Inputting the code while in Safe Mode
One possible solution that failed was accessing the hidden "Info" menu in order to enable SMS Over IMS (VoLTE). This was suggested as a solution, for reasons unknown to me, but I could not even attempt it because a message popped up when I tried to access that section of the Info menu, clearly stating that my phone wasn't permitted to go there. This hints that maybe my Service Menu is disabled too, but can't be assumed with absolute confidence.
As far as I am aware, these are all the steps I've taken to resolve this issue, and all the necessary context behind it. If you stop by to help, I thank you very much for your time and effort.
Found it!
Hi, I was having the same problem and then read your post, after many tries, no codes worked, until I found a video on youtube.
I also found that the model number on my Virgin Canada phone had D850 on the back, but D852 in the settings... I guess that made the other codes useless...
Anyhow, If your still stuck the code is
*#546368#*XXX#
Thank you!
You are amazing! I really wish I knew why neither the cell carrier nor the manufacturer know their codes, but you are awesome, thank you so much. I can finally use KnockON/OFF again!
Additional question
Kyrev, did your issue get triggered the same way as mine? Sudden overheating? And did multiple of your features toggle just like in my issue?

G970U1 has the wrong CSC I think - causing issues - how to fix?

Hello, and thanks in advance for any assistance y'all can provide.
I should preface this by saying that I'm comfortable tinkering with software and am technically inclined, but have only a vague understanding of what exactly a CSC code is and haven't flashed anything on a phone since tinkering with my old Galaxy S Captivate.
My wife and I bought "factory unlocked" S10e's via Amazon's "renewed" program. They have no visible branding, physically or in the software, and report their model as G970U1, as advertised. We're both on Cricket. My phone works without issue but she's been getting texts from Cricket for a few weeks saying that she needed to update her phone by 2/22/22, but the "software update" tool reports that the phone is up to date. Since that date, she's been unable to send or receive phone calls, but texts and mobile data still work as normal.
Going by the "Software Information" page, the phones are nearly identical in software versions, with the only difference in the two is the "Service provider software information" string. As best I understand, this displays the CSC code in the string, as "...OYM_[CSC]...".
Going by this, my phone has the correct CSC for Cricket, but my wife's phone has somehow obtained the code for T-Mobile. Given that this is the only software difference between the two, I can only assume that it's the culprit? (If not, what else could be causing this?)
I'm not 100% sure if this is something that we could have caused, or if the phone could have been de-branded somehow (again, no physical markings) and resold with a CSC already on it?
I've tried changing the CSC by using the code in google dialer, but it just throws a vague error and nothing happens. I'm not sure how to proceed from here? From googling around, I saw that flashing new firmware using Odin and Frija(?) can get the job done, but also requires resetting the phone and comes with some risk?
I'd like to avoid resetting the phone if possible, as it's also her interface to her glucose monitor (Type 1 diabetic), and this takes quite a long time to set up. From some searching, it seems there's a paid tool called Chimera that at least one person claimed can change the CSC without resetting. Is that accurate? If that's not correct, is there a better way?
Apologies for the wall of text, I hope I've provided enough information. Again, thanks to anyone who can provide guidance.
