Hey all. Sorry if this is in the wrong forumsection, feel free to move it if so.
I am having problems syncronizing my TyTn II with my PC. I am using Activesync 4,5. I read somewhere that this can occur if you change the usb port from the one you were using the first time, and i think that is what i might have done.
Has anyone else had this problem? What can i do to fix it?
This (registry change) did the trick for me
http://www.aximsite.com/boards/activesync/120851-activesync-4-1-sygate-personal-firewall-pro.html
Thanks mate, that seems to be a solution to the problem. Only problem now is that as far as i know i dont have a regedit program on my phone. Which one should i use and how to i go about using it? How do i get the program onto my phone when i cant use Activesync?
Appreciate any help..
I just started a thread like this in the Hermes forum

here's what i got, haven't tried it yet.

Try this procedure step-by-step
1. make sure your phone is not connected to the computer in any way
a. Bluetooth off
b. WIFI off
c. USB cable not connected
2. Run spybot S&D (I always do this when the computer misbehaves - and make no mistake your computer is misbehaving)
3. Terminate all other running programs
4. Hook your phone to the usb cable and the usb cable to the computer. (don't worry if it syncs or not)
5. Open Device Manager and select Network Adapters
6. Uninstall the Windows Mobile Device
7. Disconnect the Phone
8. Open the Control Panel "Add/Remove Programs" and uninstall Active Sync
9. Reboot the computer
10. Connect to the internet and get a fresh copy of Activesync 4.5 and install it.
At this point if you can back up your PIM to the storage card or something it would be great because I suggest you do a hard reset of the phone. go to the settings page and select System. Tap the clear storage icon and follows the instructions to reet the phone.
11. Reset phone as above
12. When phone reboots, connect it to the computer via the usb cable.
Phone should sync from now on.
Good Luck
PS.
MrVanx is right, that could help but it will limit your phones capability. However if my method fails that may be your only option short of reflashing the phone with some other ROM.

Thanks for the tip there, sook. I just tried it and it didnt work for me.
I did all the steps except for these:
5. Open Device Manager and select Network Adapters
6. Uninstall the Windows Mobile Device
The thing is i cant find my mobile device anywhere in the device manager or in the network adapters subcategory. Any ideas?
Is there any way to edit the registry on my phone without having to download and install something? Like a built-in program or something..

Download through wlan or copy it to the memory card with pc...I used TascalSoft TRE:
http://www2r.biglobe.ne.jp/~tascal/download/pocketpc/tre_e.htm
I am stuck in bootloader mode after trying to update to tomal mobile 6.
The screen on Imate jasjar says USB at the top and V 1.01 at the bottom.
The mobile device center does not allow USB since I checked it off.
When I execute MTTY1.42 usb is not given as an option.
When I execute MTTY 0.01 I get USB as an option However when I click on it I get the message "USB port cannot open"
By the way my screen says serial originally and then USB when I connect to my usb port.
I assume that if my screen says either serial or usb that it is in boot loader mode.
This is the second time that I had this problem after trying to update using Ranju's mobile 6 upgrade.
However the first time I was able to recover by starting with the MTTY 1.42 execution
Mobile device center suggests Vista. Most people would not dare these things without using XP. Suggest you do the same and disable activesync USB connection option before using MTTY
that is my next move. Go tto a computer with XP. although I was able to execute MTTY before this on my 64 bit vista computer.
Both my home computers run Vista 32 or 64.
Could there be a physical connection problem with my USB even if serial changes to USB when I plug my device into the USB port?
It is like I have apart USB connection but not complete. Or is there a software problem in the device with the part that handles the USB port? If so is there a way out?
If your device changes from serial to usb then you can start the upgrade... 8.5 seems to be the best so for with my experience..
Are you aware that I have a non background lit screen? That the device charge light does not come on? That it does not respond to soft reset?
It only reacts to hard reset and to the insertion of the USB cable?
When I try to run MTTY which I thought that I was supposed to to clear something I get the message that it cannot find a USB port.
Given this state can I do the upgrade that you suggested? or are you assuming that my imate jasjar is fully functioning
what do you mean by .......8.5 upgrade
Okay thats sounds good so far, i have been researching about that problem you have. when the serial changes to USB thats good, it means you are ready to run the update just ignore the recognition of the usb pop up message. did you down load the 8,5 Tomal's? if so run it i will do the same this side, i have been testing the 8.71 it tereble do not use it Tomal must try to put some time on it because he forgot some of impotant features. if the device shows usb then no need for MTTY. you just run the update rom. let us know what happens. Its normal that the back light is of just upgrade. Here is the link for the 8.5 upgrade screen shots; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=454906 The download link; http://vidmes.com/xda/Uni/ROMs/Tomal...WM61_20764.exe
Looks like the download link will not work just scroll down on this link and download the special build rom. (window Mobile 6.1 V8.5 Tomal) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=454906
Is your memory card slot in use? Remove memory card prior to using mtty or boot loader mode.
Yes the storage card is out
the sim card is out
the device is connected to the pc
the screen on the device shows USB
I run tomal version 8.5
I get the message
error CEROM update error
then I follow the recovery instructions
on recovery I get
RUU has stopped working
eroor 101 connection error
note
someone says
"U must remove the Memory card b4 upgrade, (Very impotant)"
Does that make sense
My problems started with
I had the crossbow Mobile on the system before.
I did a system restore
then tried install tomal 8.5
and from there things went off the cliff
I am now going to try things on a XP loaded computer as a last resort
swiching to my office computer and with active sync I was able to install TOML 8.5
Problem was with vista apparently
Mtty Help me Please..
Guys,
Please help me, every time I try to use mtty, it always like this attachment. What should I do, I allready follow the instruction, but still the same.
I would try on an XP computer
I did it on XP computer.

make sure your usb port in uni is not brocken. is active sync can running well?
have you un-check "allow usb connection" in connection setting before running mtty?
When I use activesynv v 4.5 it can connect correctly. Before use Mtty, already uncheck "allow usb connection". And the result is still the same. What's wrong?

Now, there are only two things...
1. USB Sync driver in your PC is not functioning correctly
2. You have physical problem in USB port at your device
just my two cents.

set your uni in bootloader i.e. press power button + backlight and reset using your stylus.
make sure you have disabled USB connections in AS

My laptop doesnt recognize my device. It all happened when i checked an option in development (application option - in settings) with usb connected .... Also tested on another laptop... not working ... is there any solution ??
Charging happens ... but driver installation fails. . .
Dear cldwar,
Same here and i did everything to solve even back to stock but no chance; just charging but usb not recognized... At last i found the below solution by myself... Still i am very confused that what is causing this issue; hardware or software failure?
Solution:
1- Download " Usb Mass Storage Watcher " from market. Install and run then choose " auto mount usb " option and save.
2- In telephone screen, 3845#*920# to enter hidden menu. Go to port setting and set " AP USB " then check retain after reboot and save-reboot
3- After phone reboots, choose mass storage from settings-sd card or applications-development-usb debugging...
4- plugin usbcable and connect phone. Wait a few seconds and then u will see that phone is being recognized by the computer.
5- In phone screen, usb mass storage watcher application may prompt several times so just press save to exit...
6- To disconnect, either disconnect cable directly or deselect mass storage mode or usb debugging... Phone may be unstable temporary while disconnecting usb...
Hope all these helps...
Kind regards,

Dear omgomg,
I dont think that it is driver related since the solution i described above is the only way i found to overcome this issue temporary...

Hi, the Star gT-i9300 and the Tinji I9300 are the same. So you can take a look in this thread.
It seems that you have a driver problem. The message came up directly after connecting the phone ? Or ist the status bar increasing to 100% for one time befor this error appears ?
Installing the correct drivers in the correct way seems to be the main barrier, i wasn't able to get the flashtool run on 2 win7 pc's. XP worked fine from the beginning.
In the thread i mentioned above are also some driver hints, maybe that helps.

The first part is like it should be, also the stop after the first 100% ist correct. You should find a message like 'connect USB cable' or something like that in the status bar of the flash-tool.
But after 2-3 seconds it must continue automaticly. Is windows showing a message 'new hardware found' after the first 100% are finished ?
If you connect the phone the first time windows should install a driver at this time.

You took the battery out for a second before you start to flash ? You have tested it with all available USB ports ?
If you hear the 'USB sound' but nothing happens maybe your USB port ist to 'weak' (just a guess). Maybe try it with a external powered USB-hub.
Also installing a different driver is worth a try.

No, sorry. I don't know which drivers i had used. You can try to install PDAnet. This is an often found hint. PDAnet installs drivers automaticly.
Somebody also posted that he had success with this driver.
You disconnected USB cable and battery before starting to flash ?
Update : I started playing around with the flashtool on my Win7 PC where i also wasn't able to flsah anything. Reinstalled the driver and got the same error as you (first 100% ok, then stuck).
I changed the USB cable, used the original delivered with the phone. And all of a sudden it worked !
So maybe try another cable too.

Hello,
I have the HDC GALASY S3 PLUS and would like to root and keep the current version (4.1.1 - JB)
Which option did you use to root using that method?
I just downloaded the file and followed instructions, but only option 1 and 2 available
Device type:
1) Normal
2) Special (for example: Sony Tablet S, Medion Lifetab)
Thanks in advance.
Hi, i have the same phone as you but im on ICS instead of JB. anyone has a JB rom ?
HI all, I seem to have a problem getting my laptop (ubuntu 12.04) to recognize my phone as storage when connected via USB. Here's what happened. I have already enabled USB debugging and USB debugging notify. When I plugged the phone to my laptop I got the usual message on the screen of my phone an when I clicked on it there were 2 tick boxes: one to recognize the phone as camera (that by the way worked) and the other one that recognized the phone as storage: when ticked nothing happened on my laptop, so I unticked both and now that bloody message is not coming up anymore on my phone, I only got one which says "USB debugging connected". ANy idea?
thanks
Disable the USB debugging... It's not needed for storage connection.

HI thanks, ok fair enough but somehow I seem to have messed up with it and I would like to fix it if I can: I can't get the usb debugging mode message up when I connect the phone and the laptop doesn't recognize it as storage, not only ubuntu but even windows! could it be a matter of drivers? If so where can I get them from?
thanks

Thanks. When I connect the device as PTP it gets connected but when I do it as MTP , computer shows the error that drivers are not installed.
I'm having a similar problem on my phone, there is no option to change USB computer connection, so phone not regonised when plugged into PC? Any ideas?
MTP is a proprietary and modern protocol, older or open source OS's will not support it out of the box. You will need the relevant drivers, not sure how to do it on older version of Ubuntu, may be worth looking in their forums (support is included in new version in the proprietary driver bundle). There are no drivers for Windows XP, but you can get them for Windows 7, I'll dig out the guide I have bookmarked somewhere.

Oh yeah the other thing I didn't mention is MTP honors your phones security, so if you have a secure lock it won't show up initially until screen is on and device is unlocked.

Under storage options , under the three dots on the right i see the USB computer connection, upon hitting it , nothing happens, the storage page just refreshes... no options to mount as MTP....

Sorry it was a friends phone so I just returned it to him after try a few attempts. Can you not put your data into the cloud then you can access it on your PC? Good luck.
PC not recognizing OnePlus 2 after update to Oxigen 3.0.1
What seems to solve the problem is to pull down the notifications bar, which shows one notification which gives you multiple options for the USB. Please choose the file download option(usually the second option). Your OPT will show up on the PC.
Thanks and regards to all.
