Keyboard Bug in Dailpad (TILT flashed to HTC)

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but I flashed my TILT to the HTC ROM (excellent work everyone btw), and after using the device for about a week, I've noticed this strange bug.
Start at the Today screen with the keyboard out
Start dialing by name (example, type V E L M A)
The first letter will work correctly, but when you press L on the dailpad screen, you get an X. The output will be VEXMA instead of VELMA.
Start over (go back to Today screen), and try pressing V V which should bring up "VV", but instead brings up "VT".
Apparently there are some key mapping problems in the dail pad screen at least on a TILT flashed with the Kaiser ROM. I have applied the key mapping fix from the sticky post, and I'd like to see if someone else has this problem too!
In addition, there are MANY letters that do not work correctly, some do not work at all in the dial pad!

Verified here too. It's a bug in the smartdialer when running on the tilt. Will be interesting to see if:
it works ok on a tytn II
everything is ok with the AT&T rom
yes to both = interaction bug (I guessing this will be the case)

Unbranded HTC Tytn II, running HTC stock rom... no problem.
VELMA and VV work correctly.

just tried this on my tilt flashed with an HTC (MFG) ROM and this is definitely a confirmed issue for Tilt handsets flashed with the HTC ROM. Hopefully someone can figure out where the keymapping problems are coming from.
btw, i have TaurusBulba's Tilt keyboard fix installed, have yet to try without his keyboard fix

Nm, fixed my problem.

that is strange I wonder if its in the registry since you are using the same smartdail.dll since you are running the HTC ship ROM. I also confirmed I have no issue on a HTC TyTN II

hmmm.... I installed your cab tb & now keys aren't mapping into the smart dialer at all. Pressing from today brings up phone app but not the smart dialer. Is there another reg entry under HKLM\HTC\SmartDialing perhaps?
edit: @Taurusbulba: if you have a tilt running AT&T ROM, can you dump hklm\Software\HTC\SmartDialing & all subkeys plz?
Sure wish I had tools that could dump this ROM...

Try removing the fix via Remove Programs, soft reset, then install the updated cab and soft reset again.
I did this and it worked fine.

Have you done what vasquja mentioned? Uninstall the old, soft reset, install the new, soft reset? It's working perfect for me.
At the moment I'm using a Tilt with the stock HTC ROM. Out of curiosity, what ROM are you using?

HTC Magic-camera doesn't start

HTC Magic 32A (Rogers after 911 update).
I've got a problem - the camera does not work properly. When I run the application can be seen that there is a beginning of a session and then the device returns to main menu/screen. I managed to run the camera a few times after some manipulations and stuff, but it always goes down after some time.
Need your advice.

Hands Free Activation Fix

SPRINT PHONES ONLY
Let me preface by saying I no longer own a TP2. So I cannot say it works 100% for all phones or anything. However the fix was developed in partner with HTC. So take that for whats it's worth. I ran into the HFA issue when I was camping last July and in a weak, low signal area. Had to hard reset when I was back in the "real world" and wait a day for my phone to work right again. I ended up getting an EVO in October and forgot about this.
However on SprintUsers, member MSU94, found this info while searching for a solution. Just thought I had to let ya'll know. Hopefully this will help people with the issue. Says it's not a guaranteed fix, but works for most. Hopefully some of you will benefit from it. The directions say to download the files from their site and it will prompt a soft reset. I don't know if you can just run the cabs, I assume you can. I attached them just in case. There is a 6.1 and 6.5 version, so be sure to use the proper cab.

When and Why a device would need the HTC Fix
HCHB would like to make you aware of an issue with the HTC Touch Pro 2 devices on the Sprint network which can cause the device to enter Hands Free Activation (HFA) mode inappropriately. A device that has entered HFA mode will be sluggish and various applications, including PointCare, may not open. These symptoms are not to be confused with common slow performance and or battery length issues.
It appears that this issue occurs most frequently when the device is being used in rural areas or when the device attempts to reconnect to the Sprint network after being out of the coverage area. HCHB has collaborated with Sprint and HTC engineers to develop a patch to stop the HFA from invoking in these instances. The patch appears to be effective in most, but not all, cases. Therefore, we urge you to inform your Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 users to regularly sync and back up their visits, especially if they frequent rural areas.
Where to find the HTC Fix
Please go to HCHB.com/downloads on your device, and download one of the two HTC Fix files.
Additionally, it’s IMPORTANT that you download the correct version of the HTC Fix. Depending on which Windows Mobil version you have (6.1 or 6.5) on your device, will determine whether you should download the 6.1 or 6.5 HTC Fix. On the site you will see two HTC Fix Downloads, please download the file that corresponds with the Windows Mobil version you have.

How to Download the HTC Fix

Once the device boots back up, your phone will be finished installing the HTC Fix!

[Q] [Qaliza Desire 1.2 ROM] tmous HTC HD2 wifi issue

Hello everyone, I hope this is the right place for my post. I have T-Mobile HTC HD2, and I just flashed NAND Qaliza Desire Android 2.2. Everything went fine throughout installation. However, I am facing an issue when connecting to WiFi.
Turning on WiFi will show networks around, however, when I press connect, and after I enter the pass key nothing happened ... or just a busy dialogue that it is connecting but it never show WiFi icon on the top .... no web access.
What could this be?

I flashed different radio from 2.15.50 to 2.14.50; and it did not fix the problem!

Could it be the recovery partition size?

I got my answer; it is my Belkin router - I could not get it to connect my android. Other Wifi(s) work just fine.
Now, I am working to get around this, hopefully!

Android newbie here

Ok I am an android Newbie coming from symbian ^3.. and here are a few things that are annoying me and i have searched high and low and cannot seem to find any satisfactory answers. I have two phones., HTC Sensation 4G and Tmobile G2x by LG both running their latest software versions. Here are the Qs..
1. Niether of these two phones send ringtones to my bluetooth headset. The same headset rings the ringtones when connected to my N8. Is this an android issue ?
2. Is there no way to wake up the screen from locked / sleeping mode by just tapping ? Its extremely hard to press the power button while driving with one hand.
3. Is there a way to assign different proxies to different Wifi access points ? Actually I dont even see this as a feature on G2x and on sensation it assigns a single proxy to all my Wifi access points. I want to be able to assign different proxies or no proxy to a particular APN.
Thoughts / apps / suggestions or general guidance is highly appreciated.

2. Tap-tap app: you can wave twice over proximity sensor to unlock device.
However I don't recommend using your phone and driving!

1. Htc Sense uses a very old bluetooth stack, version 1.5 to be exact, so many modern bluetooth devices don't work properly with it. The hardware its capable, the software isn't. Htc seem to have no interest in fixing the code in sense to allow update of the bluetooth stack either.
If you wait a few weeks until we get functional aosp roms, then you can fix things by rooting and flashing one.
Unfortunately there is no other solution.

3. I don't know if its possible in sense but it can be done in the custom rom Cyanogenmod which will be ported to this phone for testing to begin soon. Could be a couple of months before we get a stable build though.
Cyanogenmod has the fix for problem 1 as well.
You will find plenty of support if you wish to join us on the dark side. Muhahaha.

Thank you cdstewart . It is not just during driving but even walking down the road with a cuppa coffee in hand renders me unable to use my new phone! I want to like it so bad but not able to use my LG g2x and am not about to become software inclined to be able to mod let alone understand "functional aosp roms"
