"let me guess

lol yeah exactely
we have same versions.
BTW it is possible restore a backup using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339640 , in restore mode and saving that backup to SD?

install cwm and backup using it.

and are you sure that if I backup via CMW I will be able to restore my stock rom from this backup after I will have tried any other custom rom?
I have already CMW 4 on my system, after a recovery power on, I have selected backup and it putted the backup on sd folder named CMW/backup...I know I can restore it with the restore command, but I am not sure if it will work, or if will BRICK my phone

yes, i myself have used it.

great ty..and I can see on my sd these files :

Is this all fine?
There is a way to know if the backup is not corrupted?

image doesnt work...
it must have completed successfully, or it would have shown an error.
back the backup to a safe location on your pc.

backup was fully done, and I ave already saved on my pc...so now may you tell me a couple of very good custom rom without bugs?
last thing...on my backup stock I have my all originals "PDA S5670XWKQA PHONE S5670XWKQ3 CSC S5670ITVKQ3 ANDROID 2.3.4" and I can restore all with CWM ? right? TY for ur patience

IMO,
RazoDroid, Chocobread are the best.
Creed's ROM is kinda good too.

After a custom rom, install Titanium Backup, open it, press the left button, select Batch, select All restore and follow instructions.
Previously, when doing a backup, select Backup All apps + data.
To Titanium work system must be rooted.

mmm it seems quite strange...why other people use cmw , wipe cache , dalvik etc? your way seems a lot easy

Captivate Problems(titanium backup/ROM manager)

So after various problems with my Captivate I finally decided to install a custom rom, so I ran ROM Manager's back up current ROM option, then installed Cognition. The problem is when I install titanium backup, and try to run it to recover my apps, it says it has 'stopped unexpectedly' and must be force closed. So if anyone knows how to fix that or how to find the backup I made and recover from it (it isn't under 'Manage and Restore Backups') I would be much obliged.
titanium backup uses different backup method so it cant restore them
rom manager doesnt really back you up, rom manager puts clockwork recovery on your ROM that doesnt have clockwork recovery BUILT IN to the kernel (like stock roms mostly for captivate).
rom manager puts you into clockwork recovery to do the backup...
so now that you have cognition, hold the power button, select recovery,
it will put you into clockwork (the built in one) go to "backup and restore" restore user data only. (user apps)
restore everything will put you back to before flashing the rom, system data doesnt mix well between different roms.
you dont need rom manager anymore uninstall and delete the update.zip file.
you backed up your old ROM in full, "so I ran ROM Manager's back up current ROM option" i havent used ROM manager since its kind of obsolete for us at this point but i think u gotta flash back to the old ROM and then use ROM manager to restore the ROM to its original state with all ur apps+app data, then u can get TiBu to back up your apps then flash custom ROM then restore your apps
actually ya... i think hes right... if im wrong...
nobody backs up that way except for FULL backup and restore..
and not with rom manager..

nexus s version of oneclick?

hey folks,
Have to send my wife's nexus s in as the vibration motor stopped working. Her phone is not rooted and we need to back up the app data. Is this possible? I know on my captivate I have titanium but I can root/unroot in a second with superoneclick. Is there something similar for the nexus? I've looked around and seen most methods using custom firmware and adb. This device will have to go back to sammy so don't want to pooch the warranty.

Unless you have a lot of apps with important data then I suggest you just wipe the phone and send it to Samsung.
I wipe once a week without backing up my phone, and besides, does't the phone do that automatically?
also: WRONG SECTION
i'm discussing rooting/unrooting so this would be the right section. Been reading numerous guides and there seems to be a number of ways to root/unroot. does anyone know a guide to the easiest version? I am not installing a custom rom, but only want root access, run titanium backup, then get back to an unrooted device.

You don't need root to backup data. Just pull your /data folder with adb

half formatted phone?

I have a problem with my Galaxy R. Yesterday, i installed infected rom with CWM. But the phone hangs at Galaxy R logo.
So I went flash back with odin but that doesn't work:
After first try with Odin, it says fail and my CWM was gone.
Now i have tried several times flashing an other stock ROM. When i flash some of them, i see it installs only 10%, always aborts on wrings factory.img or APP left above in Odin.
My computer maybe has a bad hard drive and it also runs within windows 8 on a virtual machine. But i can flash CWM on it!
After rebooting, CWM always says "installing update" after opening and verifying. But it can't go further!
I think that i must format the phone but can i do it with odin? Also, I haven't tried another computer yet. Please help!
Thank you!
You should have done this prior to installing Infected ROM:
- Backup with CWM
- Factory reset
- Wipe cache
- Wipe Dalvik cache
- Format /system
- Mount /system and /data
- Install ROM
- If it fails do step 2 to 6 , then restore with your backup .
Remember this the next time you flash any ROM .

Thanks for the reply EmoBoiix3 . I would keep that in mind!
I did do a factory reset but that's all. I shoudn't have flash my phone with Odin as it breaks CWM. But now my phone won't enter CWM and won't flash with Odin. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Have you pulled out the battery and place it back & try again?
** How you restore using CWM? Also, you need to navigate & choose the correct CWM flashable ROM file.
Yes i've tried that. The phone has slept over 6 hours with no battery
I must be more specific:
When I install CWM on my phone with Odin, it passes. CWM is on it BUT > everytime I want to go in CWM, it does say "Installing update" and it never ends. I think that the InfectedROM has a update.zip orso that CWM wants to install. But that zip is corrupted so i need to format my phone so CWM will launch the menu options and I can do a restore with my CWM backup.
Maybe some checkboxes must be on in Odin to format it?:

Thanks ardatdat and EmoBoiix3 for your help!. My computer wasn't 100% so I flashed it with another computer and it worked the first time!
Now making a nandroid backup.

[ROM][STOCK] QMobile Noir A10 [ICS v4.0.4][CWM Flashable]

QMobile Noir A10 Stock ROM [ICS v4.0.4]
Hello everyone! I was browsing around the Noir A10 rooting threads and came to know that many users are having problems with their custom ROM's so they want to revert back to the Stock ICS ROM. This is why I have made a CWM Flashable ZIP of the Stock ROM so the users can easily revert back to stock anytime.
I took a nandroid backup using CWM Recovery and then converted it into a CWM Flashable ZIP using an updater script, instead of just providing it as a CWM Backup.

You need to write an updater script for that purpose.

I have only been able to successfully restore the twrp backup only once, and that too only data partition, restoring others never worked. Most probably it might be encryption issues. Now I don't rely on twrp backups,I use swift backup for backing up apps and I setup rom each time.
If you still wanna use twrp backup/restore consider keeping your storage unencrypted in the future.
Also you can try restoring the twrp backup after setting up oos once, but without any password..just pass the setup screen and then try restoring..give it a try, might work.

So if I flash oos and restore data only it might work right ? And is it safe to have unencrypted phone ?

It might work, I haven't tried it so can't guarantee anything
Well if you use your phone carefully then encryption is not a big deal I think, anyway I am not the expert here
Encryption is really annoying for me, I am currently dual booting so encryption might cause some data loss in case I screw up.

Okay I flashed oos and rebooted to system and then I restored system and data and then wiped dalvik/art and it worked
I use the dual boot twrp and restore full backup to both slots
You can switch between the slots trough the reboot menu
I stored the full backup on a USB stick
When installing the dual boot twrp I chose to disable all verification and encryption, make sure to flash it from USB stick with your current twrp
Now both of my slots work fine, before one slot was corrupted and showed the Qualcomm dump error
Finally I can easily and securely make full twrp backups and restore then to both slots
I have this on my phone....
