I have a problem with my Galaxy R. Yesterday, i installed infected rom with CWM. But the phone hangs at Galaxy R logo.
So I went flash back with odin but that doesn't work:
After first try with Odin, it says fail and my CWM was gone.
Now i have tried several times flashing an other stock ROM. When i flash some of them, i see it installs only 10%, always aborts on wrings factory.img or APP left above in Odin.
My computer maybe has a bad hard drive and it also runs within windows 8 on a virtual machine. But i can flash CWM on it!
After rebooting, CWM always says "installing update" after opening and verifying. But it can't go further!
I think that i must format the phone but can i do it with odin? Also, I haven't tried another computer yet. Please help!
Thank you!
You should have done this prior to installing Infected ROM:
- Backup with CWM
- Factory reset
- Wipe cache
- Wipe Dalvik cache
- Format /system
- Mount /system and /data
- Install ROM
- If it fails do step 2 to 6 , then restore with your backup .
Remember this the next time you flash any ROM .

Thanks for the reply EmoBoiix3 . I would keep that in mind!
I did do a factory reset but that's all. I shoudn't have flash my phone with Odin as it breaks CWM. But now my phone won't enter CWM and won't flash with Odin. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Have you pulled out the battery and place it back & try again?
** How you restore using CWM? Also, you need to navigate & choose the correct CWM flashable ROM file.
Yes i've tried that. The phone has slept over 6 hours with no battery
I must be more specific:
When I install CWM on my phone with Odin, it passes. CWM is on it BUT > everytime I want to go in CWM, it does say "Installing update" and it never ends. I think that the InfectedROM has a update.zip orso that CWM wants to install. But that zip is corrupted so i need to format my phone so CWM will launch the menu options and I can do a restore with my CWM backup.
Maybe some checkboxes must be on in Odin to format it?:

Do you have ClockworkMod. Recovery solarnz version R4c installed? What sdcard are you flashing the zip file from? You chose the wrong option from the recovery menu...you need to choose "install zip file from sdcard" or something like that. Then "choose zip file" navigate to it and choose it,
If you are trying to flash the zip file from your 'internal' sdcard, it won't work. You need a physical micro sdcard, inserted in your Xoom.

Same Issue with Blue Phokus!Tiamat Screen
Let me give you some specifics on exactly what I tried to do, maybe I made an obvious mistake that lead to this problem.
First I am am on a stock kernel Xoom that has had CWM Recovery flashed and a new boot.img flashed so that I could root it. I did that a few weeks ago so that I could start taking advantage of some of the superuser applications I wanted to use. It did not take me long to realize that I still seemed to be locked down a bit as far as overclocking and the like. So I decided to start considering custom roms/kernels. I decided to go with the Tiamat-Xoom-Rom-2.2.2.Moray.zip. I opened up CWM Rom Manager and go to install ROM from SD Card, and go to my downloads folder and choose the zip. From there CWM takes over on backing up / installing the new ROM. However, it will never get past that blue splash screen. I was able to reboot into recovery and load a backup I took right before trying to load the ROM. However, any help getting the ROM to work would be appreciated.

You will need to go into recovery menu, choose: wipe data/factory reset, then reboot. If you change roms, in this case from stock to Tiamat Moray, you will need to wipe/factory reset. Otherwise, bootloops.
Thanks and a couple questions
i had read that I had to do a factory reset /restore before doing this and thought that might be the problem. I appreciate the quick response a couple questions I have.
Will this reset also reset my boot.I mg and recovery? Do I have to catch the boot sequence back into recovery before it reboot after the reset to avoid issues or let it boot fully? I do appreciate the help.

No a "wipe data/factory reset" will only wipe/reset your data to the basic level of the most recent rom you flashed. You need to do this to clear out anything from earlier versions that might conflict with the new rom.
Hello guyz, the title says all; bytheway I meant how to back up my stock rom of my new GFit XWQ3 coz I cant find it...And also without using the rom manager coz I know it briks the phone. At the end how to restore it after a try of a custom rom

BTW it is possible restore a backup using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339640 , in restore mode and saving that backup to SD?
install cwm and backup using it.
and are you sure that if I backup via CMW I will be able to restore my stock rom from this backup after I will have tried any other custom rom?
I have already CMW 4 on my system, after a recovery power on, I have selected backup and it putted the backup on sd folder named CMW/backup...I know I can restore it with the restore command, but I am not sure if it will work, or if will BRICK my phone

There is a way to know if the backup is not corrupted?

it must have completed successfully, or it would have shown an error.

backup was fully done, and I ave already saved on my pc...so now may you tell me a couple of very good custom rom without bugs?
last thing...on my backup stock I have my all originals "PDA S5670XWKQA PHONE S5670XWKQ3 CSC S5670ITVKQ3 ANDROID 2.3.4" and I can restore all with CWM ? right? TY for ur patience
IMO,
RazoDroid, Chocobread are the best.
Creed's ROM is kinda good too.

After a custom rom, install Titanium Backup, open it, press the left button, select Batch, select All restore and follow instructions.
Previously, when doing a backup, select Backup All apps + data.
To Titanium work system must be rooted.
mmm it seems quite strange...why other people use cmw , wipe cache , dalvik etc? your way seems a lot easy
I have a friends G2x here I wiped his sdcard cause he said he had a back up but he did not but we had it running on hellfire. He wanted me to install CM7 for him so I went ahead did a factory data reset, wiped cache, delvik, and formated his /sdcard cause it was full and he said he had everything on his computer. Well After doing the wipes an formatting I mounted the sdcard via cwm and put on the cm7.zip and gapp.zip flashed both went to reboot and now it only gets to the second LG boot logo with I guess cm7 design behind it and then reboots so I am bootlooping but I am able to boot into recovery still so I am like WTF happend? lol Ive tried a few things already but I was wondering if anyone had this happen to them? By the way my friend only backed up photos no his whole sdcard so I have no Nandriodbackup :crying: FAIL
also just found out via CWM trying to mount internal SDCARD I get this error:
E: Cant Mount /emmc/
seems like there is no /sys file when I do error report i get
failed to open /sys/class/android_usb/android0/stat: No Such File or directory
Was CWM flashed using nvflash or ROM Manager?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I'd use nvflasher and start from scratch. also did you goto mounts and format system?
i always do before flashing new rom.
Sent via G2x on CM7 b135.2 w/faux 52 kernel
Well original install I am not sure he bought the phone an it was rooted but I did do nvflash to cwm and to stock to see if either would boot and it didnt work either way it but I did the NVFLASH CWM so I could have CWM recovery but right now all i can do is boot into recovery if I try to boot system it just bootloops
I have formatted /sys , /sdcard, attempted to format /emmc but it gets an error and says cant mount skip format is it possible his internal sdcard or memory is dead?
Try using the Batch Cleanup tool. You can find it in the Dev section. Then flash a GB ROM and see what happens
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
The G2X is nearly impossible to brick. There is almost no way to brick it. There will always be an answer from the community ready to help.

Ok I am going to try to use that batch clean up tool in the dev section will post results
Ok so did the batch had done it early as well here is a pic of the cmd I ran looks good to me and I am able to boot into recovery but once more I end up boot looping I attempted to install cm7 should I try a different gb rom?
Thanks for the help and suggestions everyone I finally got it did the batch clean up then went ahead and located stock rooted nandroid backup files setup the directory in the sdcard and then restored back up and Booted right up into stock rooted device! I then re-attempted to flash the cm7 latest stable an sends me into boot loop so I am going to say that the rom .zip on that latest cm7 stable is corrupt or something went ahead to the previous stable before that one and flashed it booted right up ! so Thanks a lot again guys and hopefully this will be helpful to anyone else that may encounter this same issue I knew it could be fixed since I could boot into recovery
Odd bug (but I think I saw someone else mention it)
I installed YNG1TAS2I3 and it reboots but it strangly boots to recovery. From there, I just do a standard reboot. It boots up but when Android boots up, it says I still have to install YNG1TAS2I3. Installing it just produces the same results.
What can I do?

You're flashing the OTA manually which is literally like letting the update installs itself just that you do the clicking and touching of your screen instead of it doing automatically...

xiaomi note 4g dior
Let me tell my story,
My friend gave me an old xiaomi note 4g which was stuck at the MI icon on boot,
Luckily the phone did not lock boot-loader
So I use xiaomi flash rom to flash global room , it worked after i tried sometimes.
Then I booted to the phone, and other problem came, the phone was linked with an Mi Account , and my friend forgot everything about it
not email, no phone number
I did a search and they said the only way to bypass the MiAccount is using a Resurrection ROM or balallala
so I ended up with using
1. fastboot to install twrp
2. open twrp --> open adb sideload mode.
3. Open window command line and install Resurrection ROM though adb sideload
While installing rom though adb slideload , i got the same issue with topic
SO i cleared data and tried again,
IT WORKED , NO MORE ****ING MiAccount
THANK a lot

Hi
Playing with my wife's Nexus 5, bootloader unlocked, rooted, and latest TWRP installed but when trying to flash from android 6.0.1 to Lineage, I'm getting an error 7 image shown I hope.....
Is this just because I haven't wiped the data first ? (I'm fairly sure but...)
I dont dare try 'cause if it's not that she'll kill me, so would like to be sure before I wipe all her data..
Thanks
Update, it was that I just wiped all except the SD and flashed, all is just great
