As i said before, the phone stays in the cwm recovery menu and doesn't do anything else. If i turn off the phone and then restart it while pressing the power button and the + button volume, it is detected by the pc and installs the drivers, but nothing else.
If i try to use your method, it doesn't communicate with the pc, phone disconnected, unavailable.
Isn't there any other way..
Ok I've managed to flash the phone. just needed windows xp to work correctly with the drivers.
thanks

Thanks to take time to help me. I've try following the step on your link but on the last step, when the official LG flasher is running, I have an message saying that my phone isn't connect with my computer.
Try to reinstall drives.Remove battery, plug phone to computer, press vol+ button and insert battery.
Is the phone suppose to turn on when i put the battery in?
If you put battery and you keep VOL up ,the phone should start in download mode.
I've succesfuly did it, my phone is working again, thanks a lot.

[Q] Motorola xt316 won't start up after root

Hi!
I have a big problem, hope that someone can help me, I have a motorola fire xt316 with android 2.3.4 installed on it, I succesfully rooted my device following this tutorial
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1218506&page=2
.
After rooting my device I have install 'rom manager', an application on android market that lets you backup your rom, when I tried to backup it the phone shotdown.
Now my device won't start, I pulled out the battery and the sim card, even the SD card and tryed to start it again, no result, when I say no result I mean that the phone doesn't show the moto logo, nothing, just the standard soft buttons light up and the they turn off, I tried to press the POWER button while putting the battery on and the same thing, only this time it vibrates, I have tried the volum up and down, still nothing, just the vibrate and the lights of the buttons then nothing.
When I connect it to my computer, after pressing the power button, my windows 7 searches for a driver, the driver is called "Flash MSM7227" and didn't find it.
I don't know wath to do, pleas help me, I'm despret!
You bricked your phone, there is no way to help you. Sorry, I know it isn't good news.....
Hit that thank button if I helped!

Have you tried to load the bootloader?
Just press VOLUME +, VOLUME - and PWR at the same time and wait. (Until 'Enter recovery mode' message appears).
If don't appears, i think you bricked your phone, because you tried to do something very wrong. If this method don't work, send your phone to MOTOROLA and wait. There's the only thing to do.
So have you already revived the phone?
If not, do the following:
Press and hold CAMERA and VOL- buttons simultaneously
Connect USB cable
Phone will be detected as Motorola Flash Interface. And you will get the ability to flash it. It was tested by me.

Nexus S boot problem

Here's the problem..my Nexus S power button isn't working, so I was using other hardware keys to shut down, turn on and such. Now I got into a problem. I installed chainfire3d drivers and now the phone won't boot and since my power button is broken, I can't access recovery. I can get into fastboot but the volume up/volume down buttons won't work so I can't select the option "RECOVERY" plus my PC doesn't recognize that my phone is in fastboot (I'm using Windows 8, 64bit.)
Can someone help me with this, if it's possible? How do I get into recovery?
Thank you in advance.

There might be several solutions to your problem. According to what youve written it seems that the powerbutton is stuck in the "ON" position, right? Meaning that the phone turns on when you insert the battery. It would also mean that in bootloader you cant select anything because the powerbutton is "pressed". Sadly if this is the case, having properly working drivers wouldnt help since phone wont be detected until the powerbutton is in the "OFF" position.
Case 1: powerbutton in "ON" position
Solution 1: Send your phone to repair. Sadly you will have to pay for that since your warranty is void (unlocking the bootloader voids the warranty as far as i know". Having the button unstuck would allow you to choose recovery with volume buttons and accept with power.
Solution 2: Since your warranty is void, do it yourself. NS disassembly is quite easy and theres nothing to be afraid of. In this case theres just some dust so once you také it appart and clean the powerbutton it should work again. Having the button unstuck would allow you to choose recovery with volume buttons and accept with power.
Case 2: powerbutton in "OFF" position
There are plenty of tutorials around here on getting drivers to work. General advice would be reinstall the drivers, try different ports, try to do it from other computer.
Hope this helps, good luck

Hey, thanks for the help, much appreciated. I'll try to open the case and clean the power button if possible and see if it's gonna work then.
On the other note, after 3 hours of searching I finally found the right solution. When on the Google screen, Windows recognized the phone as "Nexus". I clicked on it in device manager and installed Android ADB interface driver (which I downloaded via SDK manager). Windows then recognized the device in cmd via adb and I could reboot into recovery with the command "adb reboot recovery".
What a relief! :victory:

Congratulations Never knew you can use adb while booting Good luck with the cleaning
Well I'm just..brilliant to say the least. After I fixed everything I tried to install the Chainfire3D driver again, this time with no EGL and well, same thing happened, no boot. Stuck on Google screen, just that this time, Windows recognizes the device as "google file-cd gadget usb device" not as "Nexus" or "ADB interface". Damn it...
Edit: Well, I'm clueless now...any help would be appreciated..

I can get into the fastboot menu, but I can't use the volume up/down buttons and I don't think that my computer recognizes the device in fastboot at all, because of the broken power button. If you could help me somehow, then I would really be in your debt.

Asking for it aren't you?
Chainfire isn't compatible with Jellybean. Seriously.
Google-file CD Gadget USB Device is what becomes detected as "Nexus" later in the boot process. Have you tired detecting devices with adb devices?

Yeah...learned it the hard way..I'm too stubborn sometimes. Chainfire3D actually worked on CM10 on the Optimus Black, seems like here it wasn't the case..
Anyway, about that, yeah, I did and it doesn't detect it. Can I somehow turn the CD gadget USB device back into Nexus, like it was before or?

I believe you could always enter download mode and ODIN back to stock in the worst case scenario.

I tried that, but nothing happened, I couldn't enter download mod, probably because the power button is broken and it's probably on "ON".

Make sure your phone is connected to your PC. Then hold VOL down and press power if I recall correctly. It might be both volume keys together that you hold, but either way you need to make sure you phone is connected to your computer.

Ah obviously. I'm out of idea here, someone else might chime in. Other than making the power button work, you might have thrown yourself into a real problem this time.

If nothing else helps, I guess I'll just send it to a repair center for the power button. I wanted to do that anyway and I sadly I have a real reason.. :/
Polobunny, I appreciate your efforts though.

Try updating it again.
Or try Hard Reset.
Turn off the phone, Press Power button, Vol (+)up button, and Vol (-)down button simultaneously.
If it didn't work (happened to me ), you may just flash it, the easiest way.
Download:
LGUnitedMobileDrive - (no need if you're using the same PC with lg pc companion)
KDZFlashUtility.rar
V20I_00.kdz or V20D_00.kdz (I'd go for V20I_00.kdz)
1. Put your phone in S/W download mode: Turn it off, connect USB to PC, then plug in your phone.
Quickly, press both power button and Vol (+)up button. Screen should show S/W. See attached SS.
Wait for PC to recognize your phone.
2. Extract KDZFlashUtility.rar in a folder on your desktop. (on SS, I named the folder "KDZ")
3. Double click UpTestEX.exe
4. On "Select model.dll", click browse and choose "LGMUpgradeDL.dll". (it's in the "KDZ" folder)
5. On "PhoneMode", it's "DIAG" by default.
6. On "Select S/W file", click browse and select .kdz file you've downloaded. (V20I_00.kdz or V20D_00.kdz)
7. Now, click "Phone Type check and call Startupgrade".
The program will stop responding, a little patience would be nice, it's just extracting KDZ, so, don't worry.
*See attached SS for ref.
8. When it reaches IParam 95, your phone will automatically restart.
Wait for your phone to completely reboot and you're done!!!
P.S.
If it didn't work, choose "EMERGENCY" on "PhoneMode".
Hope this helps!!!

You have to download the Lenovo Rescue And Smart Assistant(LMSA). You have to put your imei to download the software. One that software is downloaded. Connect the phone to the port that is in one side of the phone and press vol up + vol down + power. If the program didnt recognizes appear a help to you connect.
In my case cannot recognizes in the first try, and in the second can.
