Hello,
I'm totally new to the android phones, and I have a question I could not find answers to in the last days of Google-ing.
I received a WT19a device, but it has a stupid security program installed that locks the device if you change the SIM card.
I wish to make a full backup and then reinstall it without this limit. So When I will need to return the device I could restore it to the current state (with the locking program).
In search for a backup process I found that adb backup –all gives me "unable to connect for backup" (also adb connect does not work) And nandroid or Titanium Backup need rooting.
Is there any way to backup the current state of the phone?
Is it possible to root and then make a backup and in the future restore and then unroot?
Thanks,
jack

Titanium backUp is best app for backup and restore and even you can create zip file for flash in recovery.
I unlocked and rooted my device and titanium work well.

Hey all
I'm coming from a rooted Nexus 6 (PureNexus) and created XML backup of wifi access points but upon restoring to my S8+ I just get the error: Data restore failed for "Wi-Fi Access Points"
Has anyone been able to restore on an un rooted phone? It says restore should work without root...
Thanks
Hello, so i am trying to use a Textnow mod and its having login issue. You cant go pass login page. The only way to bypass this is first downloading the original then log in and then backup its data then restore on the mod version.
The app that was specified to be used was titanium and it requires root access. I was wondering if there was another backup app that doesn't need root access or if anyone has a solution.
Google offers backup of phone's app data via its backup service, what on most phones is enabled by default. In order to use it, you have to make sure that the option "Back up to Google Drive" is enabled for your account. You can find the setting under Settings->Google settings->Backup. FYI: You can view the active backups in this section.
If you don't want to do it this way you may use Helium App Sync and Backup what doesn'r require Android is rooted.
