Unable to restore WiFi with Titanium Backup - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Hey all
I'm coming from a rooted Nexus 6 (PureNexus) and created XML backup of wifi access points but upon restoring to my S8+ I just get the error: Data restore failed for "Wi-Fi Access Points"
Has anyone been able to restore on an un rooted phone? It says restore should work without root...
Thanks

[Q] Can WT19a have full backup without rooting

Hello,
I'm totally new to the android phones, and I have a question I could not find answers to in the last days of Google-ing.
I received a WT19a device, but it has a stupid security program installed that locks the device if you change the SIM card.
I wish to make a full backup and then reinstall it without this limit. So When I will need to return the device I could restore it to the current state (with the locking program).
In search for a backup process I found that adb backup –all gives me "unable to connect for backup" (also adb connect does not work) And nandroid or Titanium Backup need rooting.
Is there any way to backup the current state of the phone?
Is it possible to root and then make a backup and in the future restore and then unroot?
Thanks,
jack

Trying to restore messages from Samsung account: Network failure

I am trying to restore text messages from my Samsung account but it hangs up around 25% and then says restore failed, network failure etc.. My wifi is fine.
Any solutions?
I have this same issue. It noted that it backed up successfully but fails at 30% complete.
Everything else restores fine.
Use sms backup and restore from the play store, way easier and takes a lot less time.

True... But I need to restore the msgs backed up to the Samsung account first. Everything was wiped.
I'm having the same problem. Trying to restore from a Samsung account backup, failed at 24% of SMS. Hoping someone will have a solution. (Note: this happens after flashing a custom Rom. I made the backup with stock Rom. Don't know if this is related.)
The exact error message is:
Failed to restore data
A network error has occurred. Some data is missing. To prevent losing the missing data permanently, try restoring your data again before backing up.

Root without formatting device?

I'm currently trying to root my J3 Luna Pro for the sole purpose of backing up app data for a discontinued app that still works with a saved login, however, all the root options I'm seeing require formatting your device. My last phone I was able to root just fine with Lambdaroot, and that didn't need formatting. While the older rooted does have what I'm trying to back up, of course the POS in now stuck in a bootloop, so getting the login file from the old phone isn't an option. Are there any ways to root a J3 without wiping it, or at least back up the appdata? (I tried Helium Backup, but it said that backup was disabled for that specific app)

TWRP Backup: create TarFork() process ended with ERROR: 255

I have a rooted A515F with Magisk and TWRP installed. I want try to experiment with my first custom ROM and had a rude wake up call regarding access to my backup files and apps. I had assumed that using Titanium Backup would ensure that if anything went wrong I could restore. However, that was not the case as I couldn't even access the app once the new ROM loaded.
I have tried to do a full backup and it keeps failing with the same error code 255. I attached 2 screenshots from TWRP showing this. I would like to experiment with my phone but cannot without risking losing all my configurations, apps, and app data each time.
2 questions:
1. Is a full TWRP backup the most reliable way to get my phone back with all the config settings, apps,, and app data loaded or are there other alternatives?
2 Does anyone know how to solve the TWRP tarfork error 255? I have searched for this error and and tried several solutions unsuccessfully. I have a copy of the twrp backup log file if needed.
I am still stuck with the aforementioned 2 problems and have received no responses. I would like to move foward but cannot do anything until I can created a full nandroid backup. Any suggestions? would be helpful...
If you delete all 999 folders in your twrp backup files, then you can install it without Tarfork() error.
I can't find any other way.
