Do a complete restore data in the option of the phone or reflash your rom

I have a problem.
I have a ThL W200 with android 4.4.2.
I can do phone calls, I can receive and send SMS but can not receive incoming calls.
When somebody calls me I see the call ( in status bar: the phone does not ring ), the process "com.android.phone" crash, I miss the call, then appears the notification of "changed SIM card".
I tried to reboot, to clear "phone.apk" data, nothing changed
The problem is not connected to the new ROM, because I have it since 2 weeks ago.
I think I changed some system app's permissions or deleted an important system apk
I have not a recent CWM backup so if I restore an old backup I'll certanly fix the problem, but I'll lose many apps.
Is there something "fast" that I can do? Like replacing a system app or changing permission?
Sorry for my english but it's not my first language

Hello,
You can check and correct the permissions of any system app using any root explorer and if you have CWM recovery , go to advance options and select fix permissions to automatically fix all system permissions . If it doesn't work then backup your apps and all data (contacts, call logs, bookmarks etc) using any backup app (titanium backup, super backup - free I suggest this , etc) then flash your old backup in CWM and then using backup app again - restore apps and data .
I hope it works . Hit thanks if it works
Thanks!

I have a samsung note 3 sprint smn900p
I want to translate the system apks like framework-res.apk and secsettings.apk
then I found one of my friend has a same mobile note 3 sprint already translated and same android version 4.4.2
so I copy all of his files completely ( all system files and system apks ) around 2 GB .
and I make a backup of my system using TWRP recovery .
and now I try to install his framework-res.apk , so I copy it to my sdcard and using rootexplore then change the permissions to R-W-R-R and paste the framework-res.apk file to the system/framework folder and it already replaced the old framework-res.apk with the new framework-res.apk which already translated . but the problem I dont see that the mobile make upgrading for the new apk so I go to the new framework and try to install it from rootexplorer but always get a message app not installed.
I change the mount to RO then RW but nothing change only app not installed.
so how to install the new framework-res.apk ?
my second question, can I make a new rom using my friends complete system files and flash it to my mobile ?
thank you

Make a backup of your friends phone from its recovery. Restore from yours, wipe data, factory reset and reboot (this way you will lost all your data)
You can also try an advance restore from his backup, restoring only system apps. It may work
Before anything make your own backup.
Good luck!

Hi, have you try using another mobile backup and restore it from recovery to the other mobile ?
I dont think it will work because each device has different Imei number and different information

Can't say that i have done this exactly...
May a backup of your phone, and restore your friend's system. It may work without losing your data.

what do you mean by loosing data ? if you mean that I will just loose only media files like video or songs or contacts name .
It doesn't matter for me , to loose these files , the most important thing that I want to make sure when I make a restore from my friend backup , I will not brick my mobile and there will not be any problems in my mobile system after restore the backup .
I need someone that has try this method and confirm to us that this method is SAFE.
and tell us what should I choose in the TWRP recovery when I make a backup because there are many options that we can choose like system - modem - efs etc.

Yes you may soft brick your phone. You may stuck in a bootloop. That is why you will have your backup. You open your phone into recovery and restore...
I am a CWM user so i can't tell you exactly what options to use.
When you flash a new rom on your phone you will lose all your data in the phone (contacts and app data) not the files in your SD card.
If you restore your friends backup with the his data (not only the system) your phone should be with his data.
Nobody will "put his hand in the fire" for you. I can't tell you that it will succeed 100%. That is why i tell you to make a backup.
For more info, you should better open a topic in your phone's section
P.S.: Soft brick is not a big deal if you know how to deal with it

so you mean the method will not 100 % success working. that is what you mean. I hope some one that had try this method will give us his experience or I should just make a try and see what will happen.
and I already make a backup for my mobile.
if softbrick happen , if I restore my mobile backup everything will go back normal right ???
by the way my friend mobile still fresh without any data because he just install the custom rom so he will let me to make a full backup from his mobile.
and thank you for your kindness to try to help me with this

is it telling you that it will format the whole device!! In case yes, then you need backup. otherwise i don't think we lose data with official firmware update. but maybe with major updates, like 4.0.1 to 4.4.2 or likewise....
to backup whole device like firmware/rom etc.... device needs to be rooted and custom recovery installed to restore back to old version/settings. but for only apps backup there are applications with root and without root options. i'm not sure that they take apps data backup too or not. maybe some apps. most make backup of .apk installation file only i think.
sometime after update device lag or anything similar.... then what mostly is recommended first is "factory reset". so that sure delete some data from phone. for that one need to backup apps etc in case needed.... and i believe there are app for backups with root and without roots.
hope, it helped.
With Android Marshmallow, after using a System Optimser app, my Notification and Ringtone Folders have been deleted. So this means i cant add my own notifications or ringtones (it just doesnt seem to work).
Is there any way to Restore these Folders without doing a Factory Reset (didnt want to have to restore everything on my phone after that) and without needing to Root the phone and also without being forced to have to use an app like Zedge forever, for new ringtones i want, instead of the Stock Samsung Folders?
Any help would be very welcome. Thanks
Hi !
Without root you can`t push any files into the system .
I can suggest you to flash the stock firmware in order to get you`re system working again if that application that you used can`t restore it by itself
And also , for more help , please provide the device model you have issues
Good luck !
hi all,
we have rooted apps where by we can backup different partition , ( eg , /user /system / recovery )
my question is if i have a phone say phone wtih stock rooted rom and i backed up its /user partition ( which have all the apps data ) and then full wipe the phone install a new custom rom and then i copy via root browser /user partition details back on new rom ( which was actually extrated from Stock rooted rom )
will i get the same state of apps on new custom rom as it was before i formatted ( full wipe ) the old rom ( stock rooted rom )
WHy i want to do it , is as follow s
i have stock rooted rom with call and SMS records since i started the phone 8 months back i dont want to loose all those details ( SMS and Call records ) i know there are apps to back and restore this info (smsbackup etc ) , but i just wanna do it my way not using any 3rd party app and command prompt or root browser
devs or any one who have knowledge about this please advise if its doable or not , so that i can initiate the testing at my won , i am also interested to write a script for same via adb what are my chances for doing so.
Depends on the rom. If it's stock based, then maybe. Otherwise no. Reason for this is that data and settings for system apps is in that partition too.
It's better to backup apps and userdata with titanium or similar, and then restore on a new rom.
We don't want bootloop and fc's

Data saved from one ROM usually causes conflicts when restoring that data in another ROM. You can't just pull the whole /data partition from one ROM and then push the whole partition to another ROM, it doesn't work that way.
Instead of doing what you're asking about. Use Titanium Backup to backup your user apps and app data, then flash your ROM then use Titanium Backup to restore the user apps and app data that you backed up.
This is the method used by most android users.
There is also the "adb backup" method of backing up data and restoring it. It should work to backup user apps and app data and restoring those apps and app data.
There is no purpose to trying the way you're trying, you'll just make a mess and much better and safer methods already exist.
Why ask the smart people for a different way when the way I described is how the smart people do it? If another way was better then that is how they would be doing it. What I posted are the best methods, use them, they work very well.

Android doesn't like it's partitions messed with too much and it doesn't like things that are from a different OS or even a different android version sometimes. Mixing data can cause issues, even the safe way of backing up and restoring doesn't always work.
