Should be fine I'm using my infuse on the optus network here in Victoria )

I am trying to help my brother in law to unlock his sensation 4g. But he doesn't want to root the phone to use methods in Dev section. I know Samsung galaxy phones can be unlocked without rooting.
Is there any method to root HTC sensation phone without rooting?
