[Q] t- mobile htc sensation 4g unlock without rooting - HTC Sensation

I searched a lot but couldn't find it. I am not new to xda just need to this phone.
I am trying to help my brother in law to unlock his sensation 4g. But he doesn't want to root the phone to use methods in Dev section. I know Samsung galaxy phones can be unlocked without rooting.
Is there any method to root HTC sensation phone without rooting?

You can always root then unlock and after that unroot

He just got it 2 months ago so T-Mobile won't give it. I will have to root unlock unroot.

Just wondering, if I follow S-off stickie...

Will this sim-unlock my sensation. I will proceed today.

No, S-OFF is not an carrier unlock. You'll have to wait until more development is made to unlock the carrier unlock or just buy an unlock code online.
Thanks

[Q] Restoring Sensation after root

I'm having to send my Sensation in for warranty replacement, But I let someone root it. Apparently that person doesn't know how to restore it back to factory. Is this possible or am I screwed?
It's possible, search the forums for returning to stock.

One click root?

Hi guys,
I am a new sensation user coming from the Samsung vibrant . Is there a one click root app for the sensation like the vibrant has?

No there is no one click root but s-off and root are pretty simple with revolutionary. Here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
If the current root method (that's already too easy) is too hard or complicated for you, you shouldn't root at all.
No, it's no as easy as it was only the galaxy s phones due to the fact that you have to overcome the s-on flag in order to write to the phone.

There's no one click root, but it's pretty easy to do. This video should help you out.

Will I my phone still be unlocked to T-Mobile if I root it?

I'm thinking about trading my phone for an unlocked At&t HTC Inspire, they said it was unlocked for T-Mobile and I was wondering if I will have to get it unlocked again if I root the phone.

The rooting process unlocks it so yes

Is unlock enough or do I need to root too?

So with the help of XDA I managed to unlock my Verizon HTC ReZound. I want to move to AIO. Two questions:
1. Has anyone moved a ReZound from Verizon to anything else?
2. Do I need to be rooted or just unlocked to switch carriers?
Thanks everyone!

I have no expierence with your phone but in general you shouldn't have to root to switch carriers.
