[Q] Gingerbread Keyboard Reverts to Swype Randomly - Community Rom 1.2

Currently I am using the Community Rom 1.2 flashed from the stock OTA ED01.
As the title states, I have chosen to use the Gingerbread keyboard in settings and at random times it will switch to the Swype keyboard. As an example, I can sometimes start to type a text using the Gingerbread board, which is good, and within a few minutes I can open the browser to type and the swype board pops up? Also, when I reboot it pretty much always reverts back to the Swype keyboard.
Any ideas on how to make the setting for using the Gingerbread keyboard stick?
Could I maybe get a link to the Gingerbread APK that is used in the Community Rom?
Appreciate the help ahead of time...
Update...
Flashed latest Red Voodoo CWM 3.x UPDATED 4.26.11 with Odin and wiped cache, dalvik, reloaded Community Rom 1.2 Patch and fixed permissions.
Gingerbread keyboard seems to be working now without switching to Swype.
Update 2
Spoke too soon...
As soon as I plugged the phone in to charge and let it sleep for a while, it reverted from the Gingerbread board back to Swype.
Any ideas???
Root your device. Once its rooted, you can then install Superuser and a root-enabled uninstaller. You can then uninstall swype, which (if you're like me) is not a feature you'll miss.

swype

Swype came pre-installed on the stock Skyrocket, after updating to the new deodexed rom i seemed to have lost it. I can't find it in any of the markets, anyone have any idea how to get it back on without have to go back to full stock?
just download any of the STOCK AT&T ROMs from the DEV section and unzip it to find the swype.apk within the /apps folder
The Swype that came with these phones is 3.23. The latest version of swype is 3.26 and you can download it on the swype beta official page. I'd recommend the newer version as it has a few more fixes and such in it that make a difference for me.
You can then back it up with titanuimbackup and when you restore it after flashing other ROMs, it will restore your personal dictionary as well.
Sign up for the swype beta and they will send an installer with the newest version of swype.
Or perhaps try another keyboard w/ swype-like capabilities? I'm using Touchpal right now, and it seems to work just fine for swype'ing, and I also like their word prediction (though maybe not as good as Swiftkey).

P3110 4.0.4 Keyboard issues

Did a search but couldn't find a similar post - apologies if there is.
On 4.0..4 BTU - rooted. Found that recently my predictive text and swipe to text do not work. Switching them off then on makes no difference. Tried clearing data, and replacing the SamsungIme.apk but cannot get the predictive text/swipe to work at the moment.
Has anyone else seen this.been affected by this and found a solution.
If could not be solved try go keyboard (third party keyboard free from google play and has alot of themes)
Sent from Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Tab2
I like the stock keyboard. Haven't found a 3rd party keyboard I truly like as much. It was working, something has broken it but not sure what.
So may be try flashing stock again via odin from a site like www.samfirmware.com but you could lose your data
If you are rooted and has cwm try first clear cash and dalvik and fix permissions from cwm
Sent from Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Tab2
Had already relashed stock and was not working. Not willing to risk losing data, cleared data for keyboard anyway.. dis rest, still not working. Probably some app causing a problem I'll have to identify - thanks anyway
The predictive text stuff saved in /system/T9DB. Make sure your language listed in /system/csc/language.xml . In my case Indonesian support in JB OTA, my language not supported by Samsung keyboard by default. I have to add "id" value to language.xml, clear Samsung keyboard data and reboot.

Flashing a firmware using Odin with auto reboot disabled, force off the device and then flashing CWM recovery is the way to break Samsung keyboard predictive text and the integrated Swype support.

I use mobile odin. Swype works, to a point. it draws the line, just doesn't get the input. So is there a way to fix this?

I should add that after rooting, I tried CM9 and 10 with mobile odin, before using MO Pro to reflash the stock 4.0.4 rom.

Extract cache.img from the firmware package, upload it somewhere and I'll repackage it as CWM update to fix your predictive text problem. Swype will not work without predictive text enabled.
Many thanks for your kind offer.. I have found on here the relevant missing folders but I will up load the cache img file tomorrow for you..,,
Check your PM's - Thanks
I have exact same problem. How to solve?

[Q] Stock Keyboard

I'm hoping someone can help me. Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 SM-P900. I had it rooted, did a factory reset and then re-rooted. From that point, I lost the stock keyboard. "Samsung Keyboard" is greyed out in settings and unselectable. I've looked in the system/app folder for the SamsungIME and odex files, but they are not there. I've tried reinstalling from apk file that I've downloaded, but nothing seems to work.
Any help would be appreciated in getting this keyboard back.
Thanks... Joe
