I'm hoping someone can help me. Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 SM-P900. I had it rooted, did a factory reset and then re-rooted. From that point, I lost the stock keyboard. "Samsung Keyboard" is greyed out in settings and unselectable. I've looked in the system/app folder for the SamsungIME and odex files, but they are not there. I've tried reinstalling from apk file that I've downloaded, but nothing seems to work.
Any help would be appreciated in getting this keyboard back.
Thanks... Joe

Hi everyone,
I ask your opinions / ideas on the next problem with Android 4.0.4 on AllViewP5 Mini:
Willing to work better, I installed the ExDailer and Go Sms Pro to get rid of stock applications that create so many problems.
So it was a good idea, the applications do very well.
Then I came with a bad idea and that is to uninstall stock applications, namely: Contacts_4.5.1.apk and Messaging_4.4.a.apk.
I used EsFile Explorer, I`v created backup and I`v uninstalled them.
The phone worked very well, except for an error that popped; was something about: android.process.acore
Then I got the worst possible idea, namely to remove Contact Storage_4.5.a.apk.
Since then all contacts were killed, The phone does not read any contact.
I tried to revive the system applications with EsFile Explorer, but it did not work. says "failed to install"
I've copied in system / app, but the system still does not load them after reboot.
I tried to sign the apps again with "Tickle My Android", but it did not work either.
Flashing it is a good solution, but I would need a ROM, plus CWM installed, which am not quite familiar.
Does anyone have any ideas?
PLEASE HELP!
FIXED
The system loads stock apps only if they have a specific name.
In my case I had to rename the apps installed in /system/app as:
Contacts.apk
ContactsProvider.apk
Mms.apk
Hi, I uninstalled mms.apk, but without any backup. Please sent me the Mms.apk at [email protected] . I really need it.
Thanks

Hey dude, I followed your solution, found a gz file which contained the Contacts provider app, extracted it, and pushed it to the system/app folder (Using root explorer). Then, I tried to install it from there - but for nothing --> It says "application not Installed". Tried to reboot, nothing.
Any idea?

someone plese help me!
i've got a samsung galaxy s2 hd lte (sgh-i757m)...and i'm having problems finding much information for my phone on here...i know its older, but i just got it...i finally managed to root it using a galaxy s3 sgh i757 root....here is my problem...i'm sooooo confused!....when i rooted it i kept the stock rom that was on there... ics 4.0.4....and it had the dialer and the contacts apk that i love...the one you can slide left or right to call or text....since then i've updated to cyanogenmod 9, and love all the features of it, but it looks like it has the jellbean contacts apk...the real ugly white one that can't swipe left to right to text ect....I've found some downloads of the old contacts apk, but am having no luck installing them!....I've even tied restoring to the old stock rom, then copying the contacts apk into the downloads file, then re-load cm9 and move the contacts apk into the system/apps folder to replace the one's already in there but no luck.....this is soooooo frustrating!.....
.i have to admit i'm a bit of a noob...but both my stock rom and the cm9 show as 4.0.4, so should the contact apk not be transferable???? and why are they different in the first place!!!....I've enabled unknown sources to allow third party apps, and i've changed permissions in the apk to rw-r--r-- and replaced the contacts apk then reboot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache then reboot, and nothing....then i've tried to install apk.......and it shows installing, and the working blue bar, then just says "application not installed"...wtf???...i'm so frustrated!....is there something i'm missing with the owner/groups thing?....i just really want to make this happen....i've spent at least 12 hours on it already.....
please help!!!!!!
Dear all,
I have already gotten many useful tipps and advice in this forum. But today I need your help.
I wanted to add further apps to MultiWindow on my NotePro 12.2 LTE (P905, root). Accidentally I used a tool that had not been built for my tablet. This tool patched my flashbarservice.apk. Since then I can no longer drag apps to the sidebar. Whenever I try I get the following error message: "com.sec.android.app.FlashBarService has stopped".
I have already tried about everything to repair it:
• Deleted preferences/data and cache
• Restart
• Uninstall the tool that caused the problem
Have you got any advice for me?
Or is there anyone in possession of a rooted NotePro or TabPro who could send me the original flashbarservice.apk?
Any help would be great!!!
Thank you so much!
Factory reset. You won't lose root and you can use Titanium backup to restore your apps.

Isn't there anybody out there with a rooted NotePro 12.2 tablet who could just mail me the original flashbarservice.apk?
Please. Please. Please.
It would be so much easier than factory resetting (which will be the last resort. Thanks for the hint, btw.)

The app is called: "com.sec.android.app.FlashBarService". It is located in "system/app". The problem is: It seems to be hidden in this folder with a regular file explorer. It can be found e.g. with "ROM Toolbox Pro", though.
I hope you'll find it.
Thank you so much.
I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S7 using this method: galaxys7root(dot)com/galaxy-s7-s7-edge-root/how-to-root-attt-mobilesprintverizon-galaxy-s7s7-edge (it won't let me post the link since I'm new). It worked flawlessly. While I was restoring old apps I accidentally installed Google Keyboard, the stock keyboard from my old Turbo. I installed a root uninstaller to clear the bloatware of the phone, and instead of installing the Google Keyboard, I had a brain fart and uninstalled Samsung Keyboard. I tried using an apk I got from my fiancee's S7 but it would just crash over and over whenever it was enabled. I tried digging in and clearing it completely out from the system files, then resinstall it altogether, but the package installer still said it was an update and not a new installation. After "updating" I still had the same problem. So I cleared it out again and I'm using the Google Keyboard.
Is there a way to reinstall the keyboard without it crashing all the time?
Just for clarification, the system files I deleted were the input-method-1 folder and the SamsungIMEv3 folder.

If you didn't make a backup, then I would suggest to install the stock firmware via odin and then re-root your device.
Thank you. I'll give that a shot.
It worked! Thanks again!
