[Q] Did I just brick, ifso how?? - EVO Shift 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, so ive been rooted for a while, and flash back forth between different roms frequently, Most recently i flashed Mikrunny RC, then the ICS theme. All booted fine, no issues i started to install some apks i usually run, mostly go launcher and go suite... i downloaded go photo as I have never seen or used it before, i clicked register, and my phone locked up. So i pulled the batter and reset, its stuck on the green htc logo. So i pulled the battery again and tried to load recovery, using the vol down, i can get into the bootloader then when i try to go to recovery it again freezes at the green htc logo. I downloaded the PC06IMG.zip and threw that on the phone, figure Ill just reroot and start over (kinda in a panic here as i now dont have a working phone. It finds and installs (restores) off PG06IMG then reboots.... stuck on green htc again.... now the bootloader reads S-On .... but it just wont boot.... someone help me plz lol any ideas?

people talk about bricking a phone
i think it is impossible to brick the evo shift phone. because if you can get to the stock recover screen you can flash the phone back to stock always. no mater what
1. download RUU_Speedy_Sprint_WWE_1.17.651.1_Radio_1.07.00.1129_NV_SPCS_1.52_1103_release_160079_signed.exe
2. hold volume down and power to boot into hboot recovery screen
3. plug in usb cable hboot will change to hboot usb plug
4. select fastboot from the list
5. in the screen as long as fast boot says fastboot usb at the top in red your good to go
6. run RUU_Speedy_Sprint_WWE_1.17.651.1_Radio_1.07.00.1129_NV_SPCS_1.52_1103_release_160079_signed.exe
7. this will revert the phone back to stock unrooted. wiping out everything.
give this a try. it always pulls me out of jams when i think i bricked my phone.

yea it is saying usb plug, but when i run the ruu it says battery is below 30%, i tried to put the battery in a different phone (dont have a charger for that other phone) and the battery reads 41% the battery is sitting in my shift hopefully charging, but i cant get the amber light to stay lit.... so i guess i should be good if i can get a fully charged battery.
*edit*
looks like im screwed.... just ran the ruu, does the same thing, reboots and freezes on the green htc screen...... any other ideas?

Quick question, were you using twrp2 recovery?
Worst case scenario, since you're s-on you should be able to get a warranty exchange.

clockwork, and ima try tomorrow

ok now things are bad, the screen doesnt work anymore..... i guess its a bad time to mention that this phone was previously crack and chipped to hell, and i just replaced the glass on it. (LCD was fine) now the LCD doesnt turn on anymore... no idea whats going on... i tried to get back in the bootloader to ruu a 2nd time after charging the battery up, and presto... black screen.

i had the same prob i couldnt get my phone to even boot to the htc load screen couldnt get it to boot in to hboot (vol+power) and when i plugged the usb in the amber light come on the pc made the connect sound and then the light went back off so to fix it all i did was remove the mattery take out the sd card and to my suprise it turned back on
installed stock ruu and im back up and running...give it a try cant hurt

I would give what htcevoshiftrocks, said a shot. Like he said can't hurt. But the other facts you should have mentioned in the begining . Had this happen on a Shift I replaced the Digitizer on. If your not careful when your in there, things can get messed up real easy. Also from talking to the techs at Sprint I found out it's a 50 / 50 on the black screen after replacing the Digitizer. They usually just replace the Digitizer and the LCD as one unit, if they do replace it. So I guess if that doesn't work, your best bet at that point is Sprint.

You need to get into recovery wipe /system and /cache and dalvik and reflash your rom.
Also try booting without the sdcard
adb reboot recovery
or adb reboot fastboot and flash again.
But yes, flashing radios will screw up your boot unless you are running a stock ROM for the most part I've noticed.
And YES it is possible to brick this phone but if you're seeing the white HTC screen you're not bricked, yet.

well daemon starts successfully, but 'device not found' when trying to run anything at all. when plugging in the usb cord i can still hear the 'bur burt' sound lol, i just now gave that sound a name. but anyhow, gonna try to let it sit for a while maybe charge the battery up more... idk...
phone does show as charging...

Before you return it I suggest you RUU to 2.2 and run the 2 OTA software updates. My phone's internal handset speaker wasn't working and doing that fixed the problem. It may help you too. Weird, I know but I just did it and it's been consistently working since. Now I'm in the process of rooting again. I'll post a link to the 2.2 RUU zip in a second.
edit dont use the file I posted use this PG06IMG.zip:

It's funny that this same exact thing just happened to me on my original then happened few hours later with my replacement.

well the latest is, it boots and all the hardware keys work fine, but my touch screen doesnt respond at all.. Im hoping to get to a sprint store today.

Did you run OTA update?

End of the story, I Ruu'd with the GB update and went to the closest sprint store, who directed me to the next closest corporate store, who then sent me to the repair center. So after driving around for 40 minutes, a nice man ripped the phone apart and looked at the motherboard. and said whoa... im guessing this was where you could tell that I had it opened and changed the digitizer myself, he turned around opened a drawer marked returns, then took another shift apart and took the entire front half off and swapped it with mine. put it all back together, it would have been free but aparently assurian canceled my insurance for no aparent reason without my knowledge.... 35 bucks and my phone works again... Im downgrading and rooting now. Gonna take my roomates phone in (also on my plan) with a shattered digitizer on friday to just let them fix it I think.

Lucky guy, my repair center never has any parts and constantly send off for replacements, I swear they don't do any work but sell phones.

That's the point, you get the replacement phone and you have 14 days with 2 phones to take to the repair center to swap good parts for bad especially if you goto a corporate store. The repair center I had 2 shifts, the repair guy even used his own shift to repair mine and I still need a replacement for my earpiece.

[Q] Hard Bricked? Sidekick 4g

Soo I have a big problem,
My sidekick 4g suddenly shut off and directly went into Download Bootloader. It would only stay in that window for about 3 seconds then restart. So I tried doing Odin but it would never stay in download mode long enough. After a while, the phone stopped turning on and now it does not even charge. I believe I have hard bricked the phone. When I leave it on the charger. I see no indication that it is charging but the battery gets warm. Is there any hope for me to fix this phone?
Please let me know ASAP. Thanks!

Does the device even show up as a USB vendor/product id? See that with `lsusb` on Linux or the Device Manager on Windows.
It might be worth trying ayoteddy's FOOL PROOF WAY TO GET INTO DOWNLOAD MODE here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186954
Perhaps if you trigger the phone to enter download mode that way, it won't just continually reboot...
Beyond that, I think you'll be looking at hardware-level fixes. If the phone isn't literally fried, it can almost certainly be repaired with JTAG. But that would involve a JTAG interface which I am guessing you don't already have.
You might be able to find someone who will JTAG for you for free, or for a fee. A local phone repair shop might have this capability.
If you're damn good with a soldering iron, or have a friend who is, there's also AdamOutler's "UnbrickableMod":
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347984
That mod is not for the feint of heart, you need to take the phone almost entirely apart and do soldering work within the area of a grain of rice... but it is possible.
But all the options assume that the only problem with the device is a bad flash -- damaged boot loader, bad kernel/recovery, etc. The way you describe your phone's demise, a hardware failure certainly seems like a possibility.
Good luck, I hope your device is not dead.
FWIW, SK4G goes for ~$100-200 on eBay these days depending on condition. Locally you could probably find lower prices.
Wow thanks for all the info but i tried ayoteddy. Since the phone doesnt even power on , i cant do what teddy says. And no, after a few failed odins, the comp doesn't even see the phone. But that's also because the phone doesn't turn on. I even put a charged bat. Still no go

It really sounds like a hardware failure.
If you are committed to trying everything to rescue your particular device, you could double down and try a new battery. You risk wasting whatever money you spend on it, of course.
If I recall correctly, the SK4G can't operate properly without some battery current, even when plugged into USB. And the other symptoms seem to leave the door open on battery problems -- sudden power down, brief signs of life which eventually cease, hot battery. The sudden failure of a lithium battery would hardly be unusual.
I have seen an issue very similar to this before. It turned out to be a loose connection inside the phone. Might want to disassemble and reassemble carefully to ensure that the connections are secure. Youtube has dis-assembly videos to guide you. You don't have to completely disassemble the phone, just til you reach the main board and secure the connections to it. If you don't feel like you can hand the task of dis-assembly you could always search for a local phone repair business, or even computer repair shop (they often do some phone repairs). Hope this helps
Hey there, I am trying to fix a SK4G with the exact same problems... download mode will show up, but then the screen will go blank again. I'm gonna look into what blk2dr suggested... did you ever fix yours, OP?
root? so Warranty it, not saying its the most "ethical way"
out of curiosity what was the last, well as samsung would put it, hac...ERRRR unsupported warranty voiding modification known to us as upgrade/flash eg. via cwm odin rom app add on modem kernel etc. that was done to the ol SK? or is it just straight up faulty craftsmanship from samsung...nooooo on a SK4g??? is that possible? lol moving a rom around from folder to root of sd once (zip prev passed md5 check) my 2nd or was it 3rd t839 had a lil hiccup that i didnt realize at the time made my custom Roms zip like 47kb smaller then it previously was and should of been, when flashing is 2nd nature and ur just moving it within the same sd card its already checked out on the md5 sum and ur dealing with a 200+/-mb file, whos gonna notice that minor change? to make a really long story just kinda long, into voodoo cwm flash, let it marinate... phone ran great for 4 days, then i decided i was going to clear cache davlik fix permish and reboot...yea went into cwm wiped wiped and half way thru fix permish phone crashed rebooted back into recov, when i tried to reboot sys it had your same exact issue. DL mode for just a second...then all black yet slightly backlit screen. could never get it to stay long enuff to odin back to stock, fullproof DL mode was a no go and of course the battery died, wouldnt recharge. i played dumb went to tmo store dude tesed phone with new batt my batt in other sk etc etc...anyways he charged my battery up enuff it flared back into dl mode for a few sec...my fix? hours and days headin into weeks of jackin with this thing i went with my cure all root REUPwarranty fix...flash a bad freakin bootloader thru odin and kill it once ad for all, DL mode only needs to be on about 4 sec, not long enough to go back to stock rom but long enuff to kill that B. prefered bootloader is i9000 haha works like a champ everytime to every rooted phone that had issues i needed a warranty exchange on(only been 4) seeing how i get a new phone every 3months on avg and always pay full price the ratio is tiny. yeah i know the trickle down effect raising costs from manufacture in long run yadayada. all is true, but i figure ive been kicked in the groin so many times by samsung,lg,moto, htc etc they can eat 1 every now and then. as a tmo employee in 07/08 i paid 500 upfront for the mda that got back ordered for 6 months had 2 bad dead spots in the touch screen within a month and screen went completely white in 3mnths. some employee/warranty fine print screwed me out of a new phone. and dont even get me started on the sidekick. 399 bucks for a phone that basically got abandoned 3 months later cuz it was junk compared to what it should be and breaks in high quanities. theyll still tax u 20 bucks and make u keep ur old battery and cover charger etc so im not losin any sleep, for real kill it for good, run it to the store get ur new err rebuilt refurb SK4g in 2 days then save up for a t989 s2 dl gmote/spashtop and poweramp on ur SK4g and let her roll as a wireless keyboard/mousepad for ur pc and let the voodoo and Pamp rock as a killer mp3 player. thats all the T-urd-839 is really good for anyways, oh yea and a mediocre bt controller for playin games on my S2's lol do the warranty, its samsung/TMOs fault for lettin this junk product get released, abandoning it and overcharging so many of us. Just do it, do it lol
pull battery, connect usb, hold power, volume up, volume down, camera, and tackpad and insert battery. It should FORCE the phone into download mode.
try it lol~

phone wont turn on

My phone wont turn on after installing titanmim backup it was working ok and had about 50% battery left but thenit suddenly went off and now wont turn on.
Can it boot into recovery? What happens when you plug it into a charger and try turn it on?
It wont boot in to recovery mode. Am on my way home now so soon as am in am going to try and plug it in to the charger and see but before I installed titanmim backup it had about 50% battery still in it
Just tuck it out of my pocket and the screen feels warm to the touch
Try it when you get home and see how it goes.
Just got in and plugged it in to the charger and it's not coming on the charger light isn't even coming on
How the PC recognize it in the device manager?
At the moment my pc isn't picking it up
Pull the battery, put it back in, then try to power on.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
Tried that tried 2 different battery's and 2 different chargers and 2 different laptops
Did you try and turn the phone on without a battery in? I read somewhere that that may help discharge the final bit of power in the phone, but it's probably bull crap.
So no computer sees it at all? Have you ever run ADB or FASTBOOT commands with your computer? I ask because I want to make sure you have proper drivers installed and everything.
The next thing I would do is start downloading a RUU of your liking. I say that becasue it may come down to trying that out, and the download takes a while. Here's a link to the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074559
Any other info you can provide like is it stock, rooted, what ROM, etc. would be helpful.
It rooted and running OrDroid rom from here, It as been running great till tonight when I tried to install titanium back and it just went off with no life in it at all
Sorry to say but it sounds like a lot like what happened to me. My first Sensation just died on me one day. Have a read about it in this thread.
Am starting think that my self as I left it on charge all-night and its still dead. Don't even think it as any warranty left oh well best start saving just a pitty you can't make calls from a galaxy 10.1

Yeah that is a real shame about the Galaxy 10.1. I have actually been thinking about getting one of those myself. I don't know about the Galaxy 10.1, but my Accer Iconia A500 tablet has a slot for a SD card that has a peice of molded plastic covering the slot. And it is work going on to be able to use it like a phone. Terrible how OEMs lock out a feature like that
Anyway back on topic, if you are interested I can give you contact info to someone that can replace the mainboard for you at a reasonable price. That would be cheaper than buying another device I think. Just PM me if you are interested.
Am in the UK mate
Think ill take my chances and try and sending if off to HTC for repair
Just booked it in now so hopefully they will fix it
Same thing happen to me the other day. It shut off and wouldn't come on. Thankfully I am paying extra for extended warranty which is basically lifetime warranty and got it replaced.
Sent from my Sensation 4G using XDA App
How much did you pay for extended warranty*
Got a email from Htc saying even though my phone is in warranty they want a £145 to fix it put not because of the fault but because at the top of the screen there a little crack and even though I said that's not why its broke they still want me to pay it. So I don't now if its worth paying that much to fix it or count my loss's. Isn't there any other way to fix a bricked phone

Skyrocket randomly restarts and vibrates at 2 second intervals?

This has been happening for a few days now, the phone turns off and endlessly vibrates until I pull the battery, and then it does it again and again but it'll work for a few hours before it happens again... I've tried different roms but its still happening and it's getting very frustrating

no.
try this test, when it goes through the bootloop, keep the power button depressed w/out releasing it and see if it displays the same charactersistics as your bootloops, also count the seconds each situation has, if they are the same then the problem is the sticky power button
As posted earlier, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801226
It's the power button that is messed up, hands-down.
Try and try and try and sooner or later you'll probably get it. I could care less about the phone as I have a replacement coming, but I wanted to get my data off of it.
Open up you're phone if you're comfortable and mess with the power button directly some, either you're going to fix it long enough to get your data or break it completely...doesn't really matter at this point.
Just put the battery in and right after the phone vibrates hold the power button and see how lucky you are at getting it to last the full 8+ seconds instead of the usual 2 before it reboots and vibrates.
Once you get it working, don't touch that *****. As gently as possible, set it down and get your USB in, turn on Mass USB and debugging and copy your stuff. Put the timeout to the max or download an app so you don't have to touch the power button ever and just touch the screen every once in awhile if you don't have an app. Don't forget to reset your flash counter and reflash stock ODIN if you're rooted or on anything custom (Use ADB to reboot through all this)
Honestly...I let my phone restart on its own for a total of like 8 hours (I didn't care and honestly hoped it burnt up or something and was completely fried) and I watched it for a good chunk of the time and it never booted up on its own. After I took it apart twice and beat the hell out of the power button a good while I finally got it to work.
Repeatedly mashing it after 'attempting' to clean it and then pulling the battery/reinserting and seeing if it worked is how I finally got mine.
Now it's just a paper weight till the new one comes.
Edit: I find it weird that a lot more of these problems are popping up. I noticed a bunch of threads on various sites towards the end of June that had popped up and now some are here too recently. I guess the Skyrocket's cheap-feeling Power Button is indeed...cheap.
It isn't the power button. I posted this problem months ago and took it in to a device center. It was actually a battery issue where it connects into the phone. The charge going into the phone doesn't stick, causing it to flicker power and thus restart constantly. They never ended up getting my old one to turn on and never saw it was rooted and what not. Ended up just giving me a refurbished one.

well if it never turns on, then its not the sticky power button problem, the sticky power button has a reboot symptom at a consistent interval

Alright, I will definitely try and try until the phone turns on before taking it into the store. This has actually been happening for a few days now but I didn't really care too much because I was really busy and I thought since it turns on after a few tries, I'll just take the files off and return it to stock later. Also, yesterday someone gave the suggestion of repeatedly jamming the power button and that actually worked twice but after that it never worked again.
Is it possible to remove the back and fix the power button without voiding the warranty (are there any stickers)?
EDIT: I have it disassembled right now, what exactly should I do to the power button? I tried clicking it a few times and blowing at it nd I put the battery in but still the same thing
EDIT 2: Umm what looks to be the litmus paper on the inside is red.. the phone has never come in contact with water so how is this possible..
EDIT 3: Every housing I've seen online (4-5) has a red square on the housing so I'm guessing it comes in red by default? Either way I'm taking it to Rogers right now, they said I could have a refurbished for 35 or I can just repair this one so I'm just going to repair it and hopefully the files will be preserved.
My only concern.. the phone running Juggernaut 5 right now LOL and the internal SD is full of rom zips and kernels so hopefully they don't look at that, or don't care. Once they repair the phone, what can they really do tho? Break it again nd send it back? haha

Alright, I will definitely try and try until the phone turns on before taking it into the store. This has actually been happening for a few days now but I didn't really care too much because I was really busy and I thought since it turns on after a few tries, I'll just take the files off and return it to stock later. I would just fiddle with the power hoping for the best.
As far as your roms go, I doubt it'll be a problem. A) They're not going to get the phone to turn on anyway. They're probably just going to repair the button and reflash before they even check anything. Either way, like you said, the worst case is they find it but you already have your replacement...maybe they'll try charging you the phone, throw a hassle and offer to cancel your service and tell them to send you your "unwarranteed phone" and the button repair bill and they can have theirs back. I don't seem them getting you for it. All they might do is check the flash counter which probably hasn't been tripped if you didn't use a bad ODIN.

Flash counter is at 0, I checked when I managed to get into Download mode before it stopped working altogether. Juggernaut 5 is a rom for the Hercules (T989) and that's not the problem, I've used it before and I only flashed it after the problem started because I thought ICS was the problem, but it stayed even after flashing Juggernaut.
so what did u end up doing, fool around w/the power button or did u bring it in

Phone dead > no boot, no lights

I've posted this in the CM9 Alpha6 thread but didnt have any response so trying here since it may not be ROM related. I'm S-ON and have been running A6 for 5-6 weeks and besides the battery drain and random reboots it was ok. Two days ago I tried the WiFi tethering for the first time and it work well for a few hours. However, suddenly it rebooted 3 times in a loop and went dead after the last reboot. I tried all combinations of pressing buttons (power, hboot, recovery...) , replacing battery, charger and so on and it just doenst power up and doesnt show any ligths. Connected to the laptop it doenst see the phone since is not powered on. The battery doesn't look swollen or defective and it was fully charged when the phone went dead.
I went yesterday to the TMobile store and tried with a new battery and didnt do anything. Also tried different chargers and USB to laptop, nothing, no response.
Any ideas why the phone went dead? Is it definitely gone? Should i add it to the collection of paperweights?
Thanks a lot
Also, is there anyway to wipe the phone's data? TMobile told me i can get a replacement but im worried all my data is in the dead phone ill be sending back
In almost ALL circumstances if you can't get in, they can't either. At least until it's sent back and you already have your new phone. Then HTC doesn't really have the time OR inclination to do forensic system analysis of every phone and will just go about replacing its guts & sending it back out as a refurb.
It having been a commercial "semi-flop" I persoanlly believe they will be happy when they all die and we all shut the hell up about ICS & JB. LOL

I dont worry about TMo or HTC bringing ICS/JB for any of my devices, since that will mean again getting read of crapware, settings....personally i prefer any of the multiple ROMs and thats part of the Android beauty...
Now, since i got the replacement i have to worry about sending my old phone back and it ending up resold without being wiped....do you know any part of the phone where a screwdriver tip (or hammer) will ensure the phone memory is gone?
If you could get it to come back on even just to HBoot I could tell you how to fry it BUT it would just take it back to where it is right now but with the partition tables borked. I can understand your concerns but I honestly think you're worrying about something that won't happen. Even if they were to use the internal memory again (IF they could) they would do a partition repair & reformat before reinstalling the stock ROM. I would be concerned though about sending one back with physical damage. That COULD turn into a "GOTCHA". KWIM?
Judging by your description, I'd say your phone has a hardware problem. If no lights are coming on, and there's absolutely no response, it's either the motherboard or the display.
But nothing HTC can't handle. They should be able to fix it and send it back no problem. Very rarely will they send you a new phone. They always try to save the phone you send in.
For software, they can probably restore it using their factory special cable connection (forgot what it's called).
That being the case it would still be sent back out to someone else after the repairs. TMobile will send a replacement to a customer and the borked one is sent back to them in the same box the replacement came to you in. At least that's what's happened to everyone I know (including myself) that has gone thru TMobile instead of having to deal directly with HTC.
^^^^^^^^^^^^ +1 couldn't have said it better myself

I was wondering the VERY same thing! The old dead battery = borked phone trick on 4.0.0.9?

I think you are right and there is some HW problem, I was wondering if it had to do with me having the WiFi tethering on since i just switched it on for the first time 3-4 before it went dead and the phone was hotter than usual. Maybe nothing to do but i thought it could be a possibility

Just as an update and to post my experience replacing the phone; since i had insurance, TMo sent me the a new phone ... in less than 24h !!!, seems if you report before 5pm you get the new phone in your hands the AM of the next business day, pretty good.
The phone came on a special package, with return labels, but without SIM, SD, battery or back cover, just the "carcass". Put the old phone sim and old battery in and i worked fine....then spent the next hour unlocking, recovery, flashing ROM and updating apps+data....done and my new phone is practically the same as the old was.
Now i have 7 days to return the old one in the same package or they will charge me $300....probably im paranoid about the data in the old phone, but after reading http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2012/08/apple-amazon-mat-honan-hacking/all/ i immediately went and added 2-step verification to my google account...
So in summary, very good replacing process from TMo (if you have insurance), and added extra security to my GAccount...for the rest, just crossing fingers that nothing bad happens in the future

Maybe I just missed it Strapped but I never even knew about that issue with MoDaCo until I had already moved on to 5.0.2.7. Then I liked to have crapped my pants!

It's sure good to hear that it all went so smoothly for you! :good:

Touchscreen stopped working after soft brick...

Ok..
I had this phone for a while and I started using it again recently. I have fully replaced the digitizer/lcd bezel before with no problems (been a phone repair tech for 10 years) And it has worked fine.
The other night I reverted it back to stock because it seems to be the only way to get a constant data signal. Worked fine. I then updated it to the newest OTA update without a problem.
I then rebooted it and it stuck on a black screen loop with the buttons going on and off for hours. I spent 7 hours trying to figure out what was wrong, flashing, re flashing.. Nothing. Finally I get CWM recovery installed and find out my SD card is fried. So I put a new one in, and transfer over the roms I want t flash. 3 different roms, all with no touch screen.
Revert back to stock, still no touch screen.
Could something have gone bad on the board to have caused this? Is there something system wise not getting wiped that may cause this? Its to much of a coincidence that the touch screen and buttons would go out after all this happened.
Any help would be appreciated. Im waiting on a new digitizer now to check because Ive already gone over all the connections. But if its something software wise, Id like to try that before doing another digitizer replacement.
Thanks
funny you made this thread. i just got my hands on a soft bricked g2x that was stuck on the blue lg logo. after a quick nvflash it boots right up......but with no touchscreen. not sure if it ever worked as im not the original owner.
but i'll be keeping my eyes out on this thread for sure!
Id give a pretty to see inside both of your phones. Sounds like a bad contact on the ribbons.or one of them may have been ripped during a screen installation. I've never heard of the screen just up and quoting working without some major stuff happening to the phone. My guess is these screens were replaced with the wrong screen.just a guess though.

I have done phone repairs for quite a few years, It wasnt a wrong screen and has worked fine for a year since its replacement. I have already opened the phone again and made sure all contacts were fine. What Im trying to figure out is if there is maybe some part of the system/boot that holds the touchscreen drivers and they have bee erased?
Again, I find its a huge coincidence that it worked fine up until this happened then as soon as its booting again, stops working... Which is why I think its a software issue.
Try touching the corners of the screen after booting up start with the top left and go clockwise. One of the roms used to mess up the connectivity between phone and screen. And that is supposed to reset the touch screen. A old g1 trick
