So I picked up my SGS2 LTE last night. I do indeed have the defective screen with the blobs, but the vertical lines are almost never noticeable...except when I use my camera. The picture quality on the preview screen and even after I snap a photo, is just horrible!! My girlfriend's iPhone 4 with it's 5MP camera ****s on my camera!!! Now my question is, are all S2 LTE camera's this crappy? I wasn't considering exchanging my phone based only on the blobs, but with this whole camera situation, it's pretty likely...unless they're are like this!?!? Any input is much appreciated. Thank you.
my camera takes beautiful pictures, compared it with my friends iphone 4s and it beats it by far in every situation, day, night, with flash, low light, action...the i4s always has blurry pictures and or has a white film on every picture. And the screen quality is amazing, so honestly i have no idea what youre talking about

On some settings I get really grainy pics, but on the right settings I get really nice pics.
I love these phones except for the screen problems; the vertical lines are pretty annoying on my phone.
First of all mp dont mean anything. Second, im unaware of the screen issues because i myself am not experiencing it. And lastly the camera on the sgs2 is incredible...im gonna be comparing it to the iphone 4s tomorrow but right now its stomps the iphone 4 for a joke. Maybe your screen issues are misleading you.
Your just gonna have to trust me on that....i know how to work a camera lol.

Yea I'm an idiot...I had my brightness all the way down lol. After setting it to auto brightness, it looks amazing. I appologize for the minor freak out.
And seeing as I already have this thread up, instead of starting a new one, I'll just build on this one. Just some questions...
1. Is there a way to delete some stock apps, such as Facebook, mini diary, shop, Rogers Live, urMusic, etc.?
2. On the bar way at the top with the time, battery, and reception, you can only see the date when you tap on it or if you open up the Notifications. Is there any way to have the date stay there permanently?
3. For anyone who uses the WhatsApp application, is there a way to receive notifications for messages even when the app is closed? I've messed around with the settings on it, but nothing. I know that on an iPhone even with the app closed, you get the notifications, so am just wondering.
4. I've got a case, but any suggestions on a good screen protector, or are they all the same?
5. For Rogers Wireless users, are you only able to access the LTE network on an LTE plan?
All in all, an amazing phone, but what do I know right, this is my first smartphone lol. But other then the screen defect, which in my case I don't think is that bad as I do get the blobs but not vertical lines...? and the ****ty battery life, I love it.
Thanks guys, any help is appreciated. Sorry for being such a noob.
I switched from iphone4 to the skyrocket and i think the skyrocket takes better pictures.
also note that the preview screen pics aren't as good as when you look at them in the gallery.

I am new to android but i am on rogers so i can help with some of your questions
1. you can root your phone and get a ROM that is debloated, which will get rid of the rogers apps.. as for facebook and such i think you can just delete those if u find an app that can delete applications. still might have to be rooted though.
2. not sure..
3. i get messages all the time from whatsapp.. the latest update even shows me a pop up alert when the phone is locked.. i also have the app "iphone notifications" installed and it pops up an alert for whatever app you want (i.e. email, sms, fb etc etc)
4. I got ghost armor... pretty good in my opinion.. better the ZAGG cause it's not STICKY and collects dust everywhere.. but all these screen protector skinz give u that orange peel effect.. i have yet to find a crystal screen protector that fits well..
5. yes you need an LTE plan to get on the LTE network, as well as an LTE sim Card, which should come with the phone or given to you at the store for free..
I do not know if they have the promo but i got the 6gb LTE plan for $30 through retentions..

6GB LTE plan for $30? how did you ever get that?!?!?!
also...
1. is there a name for the app that can delete other apps?
3. its not that i dont get the whatsapp messages, i just dont get them when the app is closed. lets say im in the middle of a convo, and i minimize it then exit it on the task manager, i wont get anymore messages. if i leave it running in the background(running in task manager) it works just fine. im just asking because i know that on the iphone with the app totally closed, the messages still pop up. not a huge deal, was just wondering

Once you're rooted, you can install Titanium Backup. That can uninstall apps for you. Just be careful on what you uninstall. I've removed the three Rogers apps they installed.
I don't think whatsapp is really closed on the iPhone when you exit. Look at the FAQ on whatsapp, they tell you NOT to use taskmanagers to kill the app as you will lose messages. (http://www.whatsapp.com/faq/)

For # 4, I found the Otterbox case to be great as the screen protector is retained by the case so no aggravating 'tint' application needed. The belt clip also doubles as a kick stand in either orientation, although portrait gets a bit tippy.
With respect to #5, they gave me a LTE SIM even without an LTE plan as they had had reports of owners getting kicked from antennas otherwise. These are the in-store drones though so I don't know how much technical acumen they possess. I live north of Highway 7 though so a LTE connection isn't available for me to test this claim on.
Hope this helps,
Todd.

to use LTE you need an LTE plan. I have the 2GB lte plan since my blackberry broke and I didnt want to sign a 3 year for 6gb lol though I wished I had 6gb I finish 2GB so fast.....
With all due respect, this is incorrect. When I went from my iphone 4 to the S2 LTE (Ottawa), I kept my 6g $30 non-LTE data plan. I do have an LTE SIM card in my phone and am able to get on LTE network.
Rogers said the same thing as you have mentioned here and wanted to give me a $50 LTE data plan, which I turned down. And I am glad I did.

Its very annoying that phone models are locked into specific carriers (hope this changes in the future) but im currently on AT&T, which in my area has the best overall signal coverage. Can this phone be put on the ATT network?
Is this phone a good one? My roommate just got the Incredible 2, and im liking the Thunderbolt, but thinking i need to jump on the Dual core market. I currently have a Touch pro 2, which is ok, but SLOW.
Also, what features does this phone have? HTC's own site seems selective on what they post on their specs (they tend to leave out common features on some phones)
Things I like on the thunderbolt spec sheet are..
Dual mics with noise cancellation, Compass sensor, G-Sensor, Proximity sensor (not sure what this is used for), Light sensor, 3.5mm audio jack, MicroUSB, FM radio. (i also like the kick stand)
The G-Sensor i think is pretty standard these days, tho not sure what they mean by the Compass sensor, id be great if it actually had a compass in it.
But this phone doesn't list ANY special features on HTC site.
Thanks in advance.

Bell is a Canadian phone company (pretty sure) and has the same bands as ATT so their phones are compatible. If you're gonna jump onto the dual-core wagon, check out the SGS2 phones (i'm pretty sure ATT has one coming to them soon if not already...) Then you wont need to unlock or worry about compatibility
The sensation 4g will work on att, but you won't get 3g data.
Of the specs you listed regarding the Thunderbolt, the sensation 4g has all those features, minus a kickstand.
Also, the proximity sensor is used to detect close or far objects. An example of it in use is when you put your ear up to the phone during a call, and the screen automatically turns off, then turns back on when you move away from it.

Don't try to get the tmobile version. You won't get anything above 2g.

The Bell (Canadian) model (Z710A) will work on AT&T 3G. The T-Mobile or European versions will work on AT&T, but they will only connect with EDGE data speeds, not 3G.
I'm not overly concerned about data really, unless i'm forced to pay for it. The Touch Pro 2 i have now i bought unlocked so i didn't have to pay for data.

I thought the light sensor did that? My TP2 does that, but doesn't mention a prox. sensor.
The Bell model gets 3G bands but is locked at the moment. It should be unlocked next week:

the t-Mo and Euro versions work but only allow 2G
You shouldn't have a required data plan if you pay cash for the phone.

Eww.. I paied that much for my TP2, i cant really afford that again... i might be stuck with a contract Which id bet i couldnt get this.. this sucks lol.
Hows the speaker on this phone? My TP2 has dual speaker and has pretty good quality (also has a handy mic mute on the back). It also uses the sensor and switch's it to speaker when i flip the phone over (lying on the screen) Can this phone, or others do that or is that a TP2 specific thing?
Well, nobody around here offers this phone.. Which sucks. Ive been watching reviews on both This and the SGS2. While the SGS2 looks like a nice phone, and seems to be pretty comparable, i like how the Sensation looks alitlte more. The button placement, and the more 'roundness of it is more to my taste than then square 'iphone-iks' looking SGS2. Hell id proly be willing to start using a data plan if i could get this phone on att. (tmobile isnt in my area, if they are their coverage isnt good.)

$550CAD straight from Bell Canada, which won't really help you much if you don't live in Canada or near the border. Once they're carrier unlocked and have custom ROMS I'll drive up and pick up a Bell model to use on AT&T, can't wait
ok.. i was wrong.. T-mobile is apparently in my area. I have no personal experiences with them however and none of my friends use them, so not sure how well they work in my area. Its food for thought tho.
Where are you located?
Chances are you aren't in a 3G coverage area which is good news because you can skip out on paying through the nose for a data plan... just opt for the 200MB no overage "unlimited" throttle point data plan and you're good to go. Voice coverage is probably still a concern but if it's just bad at your house T-Mobile has WiFi calling which uses your WiFi network to place and receive calls and texts

If there are wal-marts in your part of the country, I hear they have it for $148.88
lol, yea, otherside of town has one, but blah buying one from wal-mart. Somehow i dont trust them to set things up correctly. Transferring my number and whatnot. It will take a month or two for me to have the money in any event.
i kinda hate that every place has different deals. T-mobile itslef has a higher upfront cost, ($250) but a lower monthly charge (59.99) but Newegg has a lower upfront ($150) but a higher monthly (69.99). The monthly cost seems to differ in the data.. Tmoble charing 10, newegg 20.
Bah!
@ Lyian Keep an eye out on the tmobile website. Just last Wed/Thurs (for lilke 24 hours) they were selling the Sensation for free with new contracts/new lines of service.
Keep an eye out tmo does that all the time.
If anyone wants to know I have a Sensation from T-mobile in Puerto Rico and I noticed that it says in the box that it works on 1700, 1900 and 2100 frequencies for data which means it can work on AT&T.
I'll try to unblock it later and see if it really works.

The speaker isn't that good for most apps. But for certain apps (like Google Music) it's really loud. I don't know why. Most people have overcome this problem by using the Equalizer app or Volume+ though. And yes, it can do that.
I just got a Galaxy S3. I want my MT4GS to go to my wife. She's currently using a cheap slider with no data plan (Gravity S).
So, I just plugged her SIM card into my freshly reset (but rooted) phone. Wifi off. Navigation and google maps work with satellite views, which means that there is a data connection. I'm curious as to whether this is data I would be charged for.
My wife does maybe 10 messages and ten minutes a month. I don't plan to get her hooked on internet or email. I thought that having navigation would be a good thing. I do have wifi, so I could download maps ahead of time, but from what I have seen, navigation instructions are still a data user. I turned off the data and the maps don't work.
With all that above, I have my question. Will I get billed for a small amount of data?
Rooted, is there any way around it?

My wife's current phone is a basic phone that has slide out keyboard and touch screen. I am not now paying for a data plan. When I simply put the sim card in the MT4GS, the messages were available. They might be stored on the sim card, I don't know.
I brought up Google Maps and the local map came up. I added the satellite view and it came up. I didn't turn on wifi and I didn't turn off mobile data.
My main question is, If the phone doesn't get used much and we don't use web or email, will we get charged or will the data stop? There is a limited amount of data that comes with the phone to power the weather widget on the home screen.
I just don't want to get any surprises when the bill comes up next time.
Any information would be helpful.

You need to turn off mobile data on the phone. Wifi is ok to use, but if mobile data is on, you will get charged per use. Not sure what the rate is, but it's usually steep.
Even if you don't use mobile data, smartphones are designed to constantly pull data. Which is why you'll get data charges if you don't turn it off. That's just how they are built. Gmail sync, weather updates, widgets, apps, etc. It's impossible for you to control how and when your phone uses data unless you're manually controlling each and every app.
That said, if you turn off data, you will lose MMS since it relies on mobile data
Technically, a data plan is REQUIRED when running a smartphone, but lately I've seen almost everyone get away with it. I'm not sure if they revoked the rule or they just don't enforce it anymore. Last time I checked, they're authorized to tack a data plan onto your account if they catch you using one of these phones.

The app I mentioned there was an amazing idea for someone that doesn't have a data plan. Let me know if you figure out how to make it work
I think t-mobile charges u for the initial plan, like for a smart phone your plan would typically require some sort of data like 100mb to start at 4g, but there all unlimited as far as I know, and throttled after you go over the given amount, anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but to be sure look at t-mobiles contract plans with data, may say #mb/gb of 4g/unlimited mines a month 2 month prepay of 2gigs and in my account says 2gigs/unlimited because they throttle you once your over

Not sure I am understood
The phone my wife has is a dumb phone with a touch screen and a slide out keyboard. Because it can get weather and some email, there is limited data available.
When I put her sim card in the Slide 4g data is available. Somewhere there is a line that gets crossed and charges start occurring. I'm just trying to find out where that line is.
If she only makes calls and text, there is no problem. I can turn on wifi, but it doesn't help get directions when she is out. This wouldn't be a regular thing but I would like to see it available.
I am fearful of calling tmobile because it might flag my account. That is why I am asking here first.
Thanks.

There's no way your wife has been using her phone without some sort of mobile data. Either pay per use or part of your plan. It's not possible to get email and weather on your phone unless you have data or are using wifi
Ok so then from what I understand is you wife has a phone with the smallest data plan on it
Then you just have to watch out for data overages. Your limit must be pretty small (not sure what it is)
there are minimal data accounts for dumb phones
As far back as almost 4 years ago I had weather and email without the $5 web account. Since it was the same limited web that you got with a flip phone and it wasn't practical and usable, there was the $5 for the web. I had constantly updated weather and I had email to my gmail, and live/hotmail addresses. It was very hard to use and to configure (not the weather, which had a little picture widget with the tempurature) but it did have limited data. I could download maps. Again on a dumb phone, it was mostly not worth using, but I had a little taste of a smart phone in early 2009.
So, I guess that all the expertise here is on Android phones with full data plans. I was hoping that someone here would know about the limited data plan that IS on the Samsung Gravity S. I asked here because I want to see how far I can go with the no data plan and still use that limited data.
Seriously, we're talking about a tech less person. The old phone has a plastic screen and is hard to use.
I see that I am not getting what I want here.
Thanks for trying.

Maybe go into a TMobile store, or *maybe* a Best Buy and ask the reps in there, as they might tell you something different too.. Dont tell the TMo Store reps u are a member already just ask hypothetically how their data billing works.
I am sure many people ask the same questions. Good luck! :good:
Answer will you get charged data/, t-mobile offers unlimited data, w/ limited 4g, click your "my account" application, it will say "data plan amount/data limit". If data limit says unlimited, you have unlimited data, if it shows a limit it will either charge u to go over or just turn off your data make sure the phone is stock, and factory or it may not state the correct amount,
But like someone said above stated call t-mobile ask them when they charge you and what your limit is. That is your best bet, don't let them know you have put your sim in a new phone, though they probably know already.

Ok so Ive purchased the wifi operated one for my pops. Hes old and is always back and forth on his microsoft laptop so I figured this would make things a lot easier for him. He likes it so far. He currently has a verizon flip phone that is hooked up on Page Plus. Im not sure how the carrier operated ones work or what they do, can someone explain so I can have a better understanding so I then can figure out if I should return and get him the carrier operated one.
1) Im assuming you can pop a sim card in and pay for a plan but can you make phone calls like a cell phone?
2) is this wifi tablet that he currently have able to make wifi calls atleast?
3) I cant talk him into a smartphone so he will probably never make calls with a carrier based tablet, but he may want to have a data connection continuously when out and about. So im guessing getting a carrier based one would be necessary for this.
4) again, he has a verizon flip phone running on page plus which uses verizons towers, do they make a samsung verizon galaxy tab 2 or just sprint and at&t?
5) I was also considering the galaxy tablet note but baby steps for the old man lol....but I thought he might use the tv/tablet function.......but probably not, too much explaining lol
Any info to clear some things up would be great please.....I only have 15 days to return it.

No, these are not phones, with a carrier operated on you can send text. But you can download a app called TextMe so send text free using wifi or data.

It could but it wasn't deigned for that, but at least the GT2 has front speakers. I did it once, but it was hard on the people I called to hear me.

Yes it would, other wise he has to be close to a wifi to surf the web, but wifi is in a lot of places, it would depend how good is he at connecting to other wifi's.

I love my GT2 10.1" It's connected to AT&T because that is my carrier. The Verizon one I have cost me $30 a month. (I think they got rid of the tab only plan and jammed shared data down their customers throat. So it cost $40 a month.

Yea man, thanks a lot. So basically if I did decide to get the verizon one, he may be able to use his same plan for data?
And while we are on the subject, how the heck do I get his contact off his senior flip phone to a new google account? If he still had verizon, they woukd be synced with verizon and I can grab the .csv file from there site and import in google, but now that he has page plus(verizon towers still), im not sure if he can access the verizon backup site...is there another way without inputting manually?

The international unlocked P3100 version has phone call feature. I'm debating getting this tablet for that feature since my Nexus 7 3G doesn't have it, but there's seems to be less development and the spec and screen resolution isn't as good. Although I do like having microSD slot since even the 32GB on the Nexus 7 isn't enough to hold my craps. People must like this thing a lot since I can't even find used ones for sale. Wouldn't mine more feedbacks from P3100 owners.
Also I'm confused about the carrier bands of this model, GSMArena posted:
HSDPA 900 / 2100 - GT-P3100
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 - GT-P3105
However I read the contrary from Amazon reviews. Can someone confirm does the P3100 version work with ATT and/or TMobile 3G? Otherwise I'll have to pass on it.

I don't know about Page Plus, and how they operate. Sounds like a prepaid account. I only use post paid, because even though prepaid my be cheap for the individual, it could get pricey for a family plan. Personally I think you should have him check out the Note 2. It is big, I owned it for a while, but if I wanted a big phone I could use as a tablet (It even comes with a S-Pen) I would use it. I am not sure how Verizon handles the contacts.
If the flip phone has something called send vcard you can do that with his contacts and then in his google account on a computer import the vcards to his contacts,I did it with my work phone they supplied me

You have no 32GB phone available, and it could be weeks or months before you guys see a 32GB version?
You guys can't TRULY talk & surf because AT&T throttles your speeds during calls? Pings also drastically increase. Test it out!
NO unlimited data plan option. Those who were lucky to keep the $30 unlimited plan are throttled at 5GB.
AT&T RAT locks their modems, making it near impossible to force EDGE or HSPA only to preserve battery life.
Pre-orders are ALWAYS a mess. Galaxy Note 2 had no white option available during pre-order.
All of this sure as hell bothers me, and makes me crave T-Mobile, except I don't want 2G.
So what's with all these AT&T threads? Why are there that many people on them if they are like this?

I'd like if T-Mobile was an option for me, but I like to have reception to make phone calls. Also - I don't think you're getting the 32 at T-mobile.
AT&T works best for me, GSM, Great coverage, fast data speeds, Great phone selections, Great company discount on monthly bill.
I am not sure if its AT&T or Samsung's Fault for not having a 32gb option available for pre order but I am sure it wont be long before the 32 model is available.
Also the fact that as an ATT customer, I can buy the international version and have a 3g working phone. Since there is no LTE from ATT in my area, I have no plans to get the quad core version that ATT offers.

no carrier is getting the 32gb models now. i talked to samsung and they told me it won't be anytime soon.
+ best coverage for my area out of the big 4
+ good (best?) phone selection
- HORRIBLE customer service. 611 is junk. 10% chance of getting someone you can actually understand and speaks clear English. The AT&T policies change depending on who you talk to. No consistency.
- The AT&T reps at the corp stores are extremely rude and always expect that you have no idea what you are talking about.... for example, while I was looking at a Lumia 920, the rep said "this is the newest Android phone we have", which I politely stated that this is actually a Windows Phone 8. He laughed and said "does this look like a computer to you?" This is just one example of many.
- The HSPA+ coverage at my home is laggy and often times doesn't work at all. I have better luck with 3G/EDGE for some reason.
- Heaven help you if you have a Nexus phone. They have NO IDEA what it is, how you have it or why it works with their network. It's like some kind of alien device that breaks their understanding of how cell phones are supposed to work. For example, I'm standing in the store with my GSM Galaxy Nexus with "No Service" showing. No amount of rebooting or factory resetting is getting me back on the network, so I assume it's a problem with my account. The guy says "I don't see this phone in our system. You can't use a Verizon phone on AT&T"... I said "yes I agree, but this is a GSM phone and has ALWAYS worked on AT&T until today". He shrugged and said "You're gonna have to call 611 cuse you lost me". Turns out someone somewhere sometime had put me on an "iPhone data plan"...which is somehow DIFFERENT from a "every other phone data plan". I figured that out from looking at my account online.
Very sorry for the above rant. T-Mobile and Sprint coverage is non-exsistant and I'm not a huge fan of Verizon's phone selection.
Not trolling at all.
No one mentions the fact that they throttle speeds during calls to 1mbps or less with high pings??? Doesn't anyone want the option to turn LTE off and use HSPA only? This comes in handy if your phone sits in your desk drawer all day at at work?

Never had trouble with throttling or pings while on a phone call, but I haven't been able to turn LTE off. Luckily with the S4, I won't want to since the battery is so big.

Test it out!!! Run a speedtest during a call. I bet you anything you won't get anything greater than 1mbps down and your ping will be high. Run the test off the call and you'll have better results.
Frustrates me to know end.
T-Mobile does not do this.
I'm on AT&T because in my area Anchorage, Alaska AT&T offers newest phones and when I travel to the lower 48 states I'm pretty much guaranteed coverage in the major cities I visit. Verizon is coming up here this summer so we'll see how they compare to AT&T.
Doesn't bother me at all. I don't need a 32gb phone. I have no idea why I need to surf and talk at the same time. And I don't need an unlimited plan as most places I go have wifi.
At most I use 500mb of my 2gb plan per month. At most. Even with tons of streaming of music.

Yes it is. Uploads are like 0.01mbps. Test it out!!! I have called many, many times. AT&T doesn't acknowledge this.
If you are pulling 5-7mbps on HSPA+ then you should pull that on a call. They are throttling everyone's speeds during calls and returning them to normal once the call ends.
Pings are significantly higher also. Talking and surfing is pretty much unusable. It wasn't always like this though. Can't wait to see what they do once calls are made over LTE. I bet they'll throttle with LTE too.
Test it out!
And the fact that AT&T wants me on the fastest network is absurd too. I should be able to force H+ or 2G when I WANT TO SAVE DATA USAGE!!! I don't always need LTE. WHY CAN'T WE FN TURN IT OFF???
To answer your question, yes, all those things bother me. But, Sprint and T-Mobile both have spotty coverage and a very limited selection of phones, and Verizon is the devil. (locked bootloaders, losing unlimited data when using an upgrade, etc.)
AT&T is truly the best option for me. Good coverage, huge selection of phones, more dev support since the phones are GSM.

I'm a consumer just like you. I am mad that a smaller carrier doesn't throttle speeds during calls during calls and gives customers the option to turn off 3G/4G.
You tell me how its beneficial if my device sits on LTE all day when I don't need it too? If it was on HSPA or EDGE I could still maintain a data connection and preserve battery life.
Not to mention, if I am close to my data limit, forcing HSPA or EDGE will help me by not going over my limit, because its slower.

You can set caps on your phone so you don't go over. Very easy to do. Forcing HSPA or EDGE doesn't prevent you from going over. It just goes slower but uses the same amount of data to accomplish the same goal. I have heard that LTE as part of SoC uses much less power. But haven't tested it myself. Considering I have wifi at work I just turn off data completely and use wifi.

Just cause its slower doesn't mean it uses any less data...regardless of speed your still going to end up using the same amount of data...although I do agree you should have the option to turn off LTE, however you can always add a non LTE apn and just switch sons when ever you want to toggle LTE

I've been with ATT for a tear bow. I had the S4 before this G3. On my S4 I would have LTE most places around my town. Since getting my G3 I rarely get LTE. When I do get LTE it doesn't hold on to that connection very long.
Yesterday I was trying to look something up and I was on Edge (3g) and it was taking forever, so I grabbed my wife's S5 and it was on LTE (also on ATT) and the internet worked great.
Are the radios in this phone just that bad? I'm going to get a new Sim card today to see if that can fix the issue, I'm hesitant to return the phone for another because I'll probably get a refurb and my luck with refurb cell phones hasn't been good

so i got a new sim card, lets see how this goes
I have bad reception at home but can still get 12mb down on LTE. Downtown I get 35 down and 17 up with 4 bars. Signal can't penetrate the brick at home. I drop calls constantly. I'm about to pick up a microcell but data is great.
Much better than Sprint in my area. My Sprint GS5 radio is real garbage. Kills the battery too. The Sprint variant of the GS5 is horrible with Spark.
You may have a lemon radio in your phone.
I'm wondering that, I'd hate to get a refurb and fine out it performs the same

Don't really want to trade this if for a refurb to have the same thing.
Is the antenna on the back of the battery case? or is that just a 'booster'?

Absolutely love the device as a smartphone, but unfortunately suffer from the same issues as the rest of you here.
Loses signal where other ATT devices do not, drops LTE for HSPA or EDGE where other devices stay on LTE.
Really hoping the crappy radio can be fixed with a firmware update, and that it isn't a hardware design flaw...
