Work good for me without resetting the whole thing
Thnx

Just to be clear, by "delete all accounts," does that just mean my gmail account, ONLY?
Also, how would I go about deleting my FB account?

I wanted to know that too. Is it working only for Gmail account or ALL accounts that we have on the phone?

You could go to Settings > Accounts and Sync > [ Your Account here ] > Remove Account... A lot easier and safer...

[Q] How to dis-sync account?

There is android app that need to sign in using my google account openID, so I need to sign in my google account on the phone (galaxy sl). I already disable "auto sync" option, but I am not sure why the phone auto sync sometime, maybe it is because I didn't disable "applications can send, sync, receive data at any time".
When the phone auto sync, it show all my private blogspot pictures on the phone Gallery album, omg! So I look into the "setting > Accounts and sync > google account", then I saw Sync Contact, Sync Picasa Album, Sync Calender. I want to disable Sync Picasa Album, and unable Sync Contact. But there is not option for me to disable Sync Picasa Album. Please see the picture for reference :

Compare to Galaxy S2 which has several checkboxes to allow user select which account to be sync and which not to be sync :
I asked the Galaxy S2 user to try the steps :
1) sync Picasa Album (check the checkbox),
2) go check the phone Gallery album see whether or not the pictures appear,
3) uncheck picasa checkbox,
4) go the phone Gallery see the picture still there?
He said when he did 4th step, all the pictures are disappear, so it mean he can choose which account not to be sync.
My Galaxy SL doesn't has checkboxes, how can I choose which account not to be sync? I did tried to download some Android app to handle account sync but Android App with checkboxes also can't prevent the stock account sync software from auto sync my Picasa Album... sad case.
In other word, after the phone auto sync my account, how can I dis-sync it without removing the account?
wich is your firmware?
Mate all my firmwares sync option, have been like the galaxy S2 you've put (i.e.with the check boxes). u'd need to seriously consider upgrading ur phones fw ASAP!

Three ways to backup your contacts

Ⅰ. Back up your contacts with your own Android phone
1. you need to open your Contacts from your Android phone, press the Menu button and then select More option from the list of Menu items.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2. As soon as you click on more option, you will get some options. Now, you need to Select the Import/Export option to proceed.
3. Now, after clicking on Import/Export, you can Select your choice of Export to either SIM card or to SD card
Ⅱ. Sync contacts with Google Gmail
1. First, log into your G Mail account from PC or laptop, once you get logged in, select the contact icon which is located on the left hand of the screen. You will be directed to contact management area, now click on "+" signed icon. After clicking on "+", you will be asked to create a new contact. Now, input all of your contacts and once done with all the entries you can click on the save link. Now, repeat this process until all of the contacts get saved.
2. Log into your G Mail account from your Android device where contacts are stored. Go to the main menu on the device and select the contacts icon. Drop down the check box to bring the list of options. Select the account from the available list which is select the G Mail account. Once you select the account, turn on the sync contacts option.
3. Now you have successfully synced the account with your Android device and all contacts will be transferred from the device. It allows you to conveniently have a backup of all your Gmail contacts. This helps a lot when phone gets stolen or crashes down or even if it suffers from memory loss. As all the contacts are synced with your G Mail account, you can retrieve on any of the smart phones as a replacement device not necessarily to be Android.
Easily use the backup feature of Moborobo
1. Open Moborobo, click Data, select the contacts you want to backup. Click the button Backup/Restore.
2. Specify a path for the backup file, then click Backup.

Thank you for clear instructions. I use ICS and there is no option to store contacts other using Google account. When I create a new contact there is only google account option .Is there any option to override this setting if I would like to save new contacts to sim card or other contacts account. Google starts to be funny
Thanks

Play Store downloads/updates taking hours

Since a month or so Play Store takes literally hours to download or update apps. This happens on wifi and mobile data, no other app has connection issues, Play Store works fine on my old Samsung and OnePlus phones. I tried restarting my phone to no avail, power and data saving modes are turned off.
Any one got an idea what's causing this?
If they fail with error 92x then you can try clearing the cache and data of playstore and Google framework. Uninstalling the updates for these will do the same. This may not work, but it might.
There may be an issue with the account. Wipe the account from your device and re-add it. This is more than likely going to work.
Failing that it will be a full factory reset and you will need to make plans for backups to reinstate your data. This will definitely work.

I had tried clearing cache and data before, doesn't work.
Now I tried wiping the account from my device, but I'm not sure I'm doing it right. I go to setting -> accounts & sync tap on my Google account then tap remove account. Although that logged me out on all Google apps, my device somehow still remembers my Google account's email address which I don't use for anything else as you can see in the screenshots.

Yes it does, cause the device gets bound to the Gmail account registered at first boot. It's something like Apple binding a device to the iCloud account first registered with it.
To remove it fully, you have to login to your Google account from a PC, and navigate to the account overview page. There you can got to
Device Activities & Security Events > Last Used Devices > Check Devices
and disconnect the device from your Google account. Once that's done, and you rebooted, the Google account should be gone.

Facebook services, is pre-installed. Just go into Settings> Apps & notifications > See All apps > (top right side hit 3 dots > show system) Click and disable (can't uninstall unfortunately) all facebook apps you see. I had three already in place, "Facebook app installer" "Facebook App manager" & " Facebook Services"
Oh and you can probably remove over ADB, I haven't yet but probably will attempt in the future.

I'm pretty sure none of these apps are needed to run the Facebook app, but I do not use Facebook so I'm not sure. I am pretty sure though, that regardless if these are uninstalled/disabled when installing the official Facebook app, it will do the same thing as those apps and monitor stuff on your phone. I highly recommend if you want Facebook either go through a browser or look through the XDA apps & games section and there a few custom facebook apps that sandbox it and don't allow it to collect data from the phone.
This newer thread (below) shows how to REMOVE all of the facebook apps:

Contact Sync on Android

Is there anyway, -not- to have my contact list pull from my Google account the second I add a Google account into my phone?
I have disabled automatically sync data, yet Google still deem it necessary to push my contact from their servers into my second phone where I do -not- want any entire contact.
I remember that on my Galaxy S7, I ended up getting around the issue by simply deleting the contacts I did not want on my phone (probably by disabling sync first).
But on my Pixel, which replaces the S7, I am getting a warning that doing so will remove the contacts on all my other devices despite the fact that I have also disabled auto-sync.
Worse come to worse, I suppose that I could just use a different account on my second phone and avoid adding the account on my primary phone, but I would prefer not to that if only because I would like to be able to access my paid apps (yes, I could also login and out of my primary account as necessary, but I'd prefer a set and forget solution if there is one).
Thanks.
I just make backup copies, then import the latest one.
Hi, you can also use android contacts manager tool to help you make backup of contacts on your android phone to the computer, and you can also manage (edit, delete, etc) them before you take backup. The tool my suggest is Coolmuster Android Assistant. With its help, contacts manager is really easy.

With Samsung phones there is already a robust contact manager, no Gookill needed.
Contacts app>manage contacts
