Glad the pos work truck didnt overheat and got me home cause the phone sure wouldnt have pulled through a call... the joys of owning a g2x.
Anyways moral of the story is.... I just got the confirmation from amazon for my 3500mah battery...
You guys must have some screenshots of bad things on your phone lol
Making bad decision's one at a time.

White power, underclocked to 500 MHz, juice defender, and 1% of battery... that's what I got from all this lol.

No just the -9c forgot that was there:$
Making bad decision's one at a time.

Well, between the temperature, the truck overheating and the 1% battery I would have said that you were up shiznit creek without a paddle.

And yet you took the time to make a screenshot.
You have a good explanation for the White Power thing I hope?

Yeah i always have my screenshot app running.
You dont have friends that set awful pics for your background or change everyrhing around when you leave your phone laying around?
Thats not even the worst part try having a picture of someones balls come up when your gf calls... thats why you should never leave your phone laying around
Making bad decision's one at a time.

I'm pretty sure if that temp on your cpu is correct your battery woulda been at least a couple degrees colder and at that temp itsnot gone work no more.....WHITE POWER! lmao. Ohh and you should give serious consideration to increasing your work trucks antifreeze ratio sos your water pump doesn't freeze again.

Lol at the White Power...

Batteries are less efficient during the cold. So if this was worse battery life then you are used to then that's why. If you thought your phone might freeze you are mistaken. Computer parts actually work very well even being cooled with liquid nitrogen. The only reason your phone might have a close call is if moisture built up inside the phone. Then when you went inside the ice would melt and short out your phone. This is very unlikely but a possibility. The only thing on the phone that doesn't work well in this kind of cold other then the battery is the screen. The particles inside your screen will have a hard time refreshing in the cold. Expect to see heavy ghosting (and not the kind that dress like the kkk).

Hello Everyone, Today I was riding my bike on such a beautiful day, i was listening to my music, i had it in my case and when i was crossing the street the phone had fallen on the road, i went to turn around to get it but i was too late, a freaking car had rolled it up. its a shame ive only had this phone for 3 months and i managed to screw it up, first time this has ever happened, i always baby my phones and this happens, it sucks so much and im so pissed. the funny thing is everything still works except the screen, so i was able to use my mobiler to see what i was doing on the phone so i could backup everything, hopefully i should be able to get a new one though
our thoughts will be with u and ur phone.
hopefully u will find a new phone soon.
sorry about your loss, was it insured?
Damn that sucks, I would be sick to my stomach.
No offense to your personal preferences, but I can't understand why people use cases. Just about everyone I know that uses a case, has had their phone fall out or they drop it while taking it out of the case. My buddy even had his phone pick-pocketed while in a bar. They bumped into him and unlatched the case, kind of funny though.
I just put my phones in a pants pocket all by themselves.
Aww man, that sucks. RIP

I had this nightmare scenario occur to me as I jumped on my bike to ride to the office. (finally warm here - even just for 2 days)
I put mine in a holster on my backpack (www.chromebags.com)...and only listen to music with one ear of my Discovery 855.
sorry to hear that, i too was riding because of the amazing weather, i was using the htc audio dongle which got ran over too but survived
OMG!!! lol...I can't look!!!!
Damn so sad lol.... not even the Invisible Shield could have prevented this!
Bahhh best of luck with your next one!

haha hopefully i should get a replacement soon, but ya if i do i will get a much better case, i wish i could get a bulletproof case for this thing, the funny thing is the screen was what got rolled up first and it did not crack whatsoever, the motherboard, camera, keyboard, sim card + memory card slot, speaker and all the buttons still work, the lcd has no cracks just a pressure mark. that touch screen is tough.
I know it is some serious wishfull thinking but have you opened the thing up and make sure your ribbon cable connecting the screen top half hasn't just been pull apart from the bottom half? Looks like the phone twisted pretty much around the slidin rails (understandably), but if everything works ok except you have no screen at all, I would be opening it up and checking the ribon cables. I have seen a service manual floating around somewhere, can't remember if it was here, but it gave instructions on openning the Raphael up
i have opened it up, i put it back together, but the thing was i didnt know how to take out the lcd panel so that i could see the wiring on that, the lcd cable attached to the motherboard was tightly connected. i basically got almost everything out of the lcd assembly except the lcd itself. the wire itself looks perfectly fine. its all good though, i will have a parts phone, i should hopefully be getting a free replacement soon
yesterday in class my teacher literally took my phones from my hands when i was texting. i thought she woudl just keep it til after class
(this is college mind you)
she then walked to the window and tossed it out. i was in shock i didnt even know how to react
luckily it was grass and no damage but still what the hell do you do in that situation

Good Idea.... wrong execution. I do admire your bravery to post it though. Here are a couple of hangers i've made. The one on the table was for my Samsung Omnia, and the 2nd is for the epic that sits on the vent slots. They are made of 14g fence wire that I had laying around.I've since panted the hanger for the epic.

Thx! Yea, i saw how to make the one that stands on the table, from a video on Youtube, which i can no longer find.... But i've actually have made a few of these for friends and a couple for myself, just by looking at my first one (the one that stands on the table) for an example.
I no long have the omnia, or i'd love to show you how it looks to have a phone in it... the pic really doesnt do it justice.
Taking your time is key, making sure every bend is not too tight or to lose. Just use your phone as a template.
I'd like to see what you make!
Ummm the desktop charger for the epic is a kickstand. That's why there is that circular groove in the front of it with a lil strip of rubber in the middle. Slide out keyboard the open battery door then horizontally place phone in groove. Works great for watching movies on a plane.

Ya'll are ghetto! Just find a business card holder at your local office supply store. They're cheap, and they at least look like they belong on an office desk. Doesn't the night maintenance staff throw your "stands" away every night because it looks like you left trash on your desk?

haha pretty awesome dock you got there XD
http://www.instructables.com/id/Binder-Clip-Phone-Car-Mount/
This is by far the simplest and most effective dock to make it works anywhere and can be made adjustable by clipping in onto a piece of metal or thin wood will take some pics of mine. have made 3 so far 2 for my friends takes about 10 min tops to make one , you do need shrinking tube.
Worked up one of these yesterday. Its BOSS. I love it and it actually feels morebdurable than something id spend ~$20 on

So you mean to tell me you have a $550 phone and don't want to spend an extra $20-$30 for an actual dock or $2 on a biz card holder like the one guy suggested cmon. I took a flight to vegas I was watching movies with my epic standing up in the desktop battery charger. THAT'S BOSS AND EVERYONE WAS LIKE DAMN LOOK AT THIS BALLER. That looks like hardware damage so I don't think that there is anything you can do about it beyond RMA and screen replacement...
Looks like the red channel is dead. Time for RMA.
Try a factory reset, if that fails, claim on home insurance and replace it

That would not work for me. My homeowners has a $500 deductible.
Well if there is no visible signs of a drop then just RMA and say you have no idea, it was working fine and suddenly the display messed up
Best way to RMA things is to act stupid and have no clue what they are talking about

Wow, like the TF is on acid. I think your only option is to send it to Asus and see how much they want for a fix.
Overall, I am really surprised how fragile these things are. I drop my phones constantly and never see the kind of problems people are posting here. I know that, because it's a larger screen, there's less support, but still...

Not to mention that most insurances like to drop you after your first claim on homeowners.
Although stories like this make me think it might be worth the $49 for a 1 year accidental damage deal... I have 28 days left to decide.

why i havent been updating roms as of late.

My devbox died aka laptop dis assembled laptop some of the ipc chips in the laptop came desoddred from the laptop. Took apart laptop. sence i dont have a gun with that small of a tip i reseated the chips and superglued them back to the motherboard. Going to take a soddering gun heat it up as much as possable and go over it like a oven bake to see if i can heat em up enough to make the tabs rejoin <3
will post pics up later its quit funny.
You could use a butane torch... You have to be very careful directing the heat and not keeping it one place too long. You have to fan the heat across the solder joints and be very patient. If you can find some solder paste, that would be of benefit as well. We used these things in the Navy for surface mount and micro-electronic repairs.

ya thats the issue i have atm is the spread between the joins is less then .5 across if that
you could take a car, run over the computer, and hope it gets reassembled.
you could take a baseball and hit it 100+ times and hope it works.
you can take a clothes iron and see what happens
you can take it to a computer repair store
you could buy a new computer(if you have the cash)
you can buy a cheap old processor and plug it into your tv.
EDIT: wait a sec, the clothes iron thing could be plausible ...

the chip you see to the left goes in the socket right beside the network jack.. Thats whats left of needing to be fixed.
anyways well the laptop doesnt work i can make it boot but it just hard locks fast because of the chips even tho they were resoddered... So updates will happen when i can get a new laptop or a chrome book like Sexton has. If you don't get updates anymore its been a wild ride i do jump in irc off my cellphone from time to time... I have been trying to use my moms laptop with a flash drive version of linux and a external usb hdd to do stuff with but it just is to slow and isnt really a optional dev platform.
Time to start the chrome book dev fund raiser.

Tough Screen on the Note 3, very tough!

I've had a little accident regarding my Note 3. I was taking part in my hobby (Horse Riding) during a trot my phone decided to fall of my pocket. (when not having lessons I have a Bluetooth ear piece for taking phone calls). Long story short, my phone got trodden on by 200lbs, twice, 200lbs per hoof.
What I want to know is, is there anyone else that has had a lot of pressure placed on their phones?

Haha yeah I was gonna say.
Still even with the loose substrate I think it held up quite well to the increased pressure compared to other phones due to its size.
How do u know it's exactly 200 lb per hoof. What if one hoof was smaller then the other.
How do u know which hoof..
Serious questions man lol.

I didn't think people we're replying... I don't that was just a wild guess (the horse (Small pony) + tack + me is 800lbs...I don't have a camera to get a picture...but the little tiny crack is still there in the bottom left of the screen.
not sure how much kilos but my daugther always steps on it and thinks that its like something to step on. and she always throws it here and there. i has gone through a lot of throwing. it even landed face first on solid concrete from lets say 20". (not to imagine it was thrown really hard). but not a single dent/crack whatsoever. really happy with it for now. its handling the brutal day to day life. lol
btw, mine has a back case. and the lower/upper side of the phone is completely unprotected. and it has a screen protector that wasn't cheap and that the guy that sold it to me when i bought the phone said it is genuine stuff. lol
have fun killing your phone mate

It depends on how it fell and if it was face down or face up. Pretty sure it was fave down in the dirt. The dirt probably soften the hit and the back of the phone is straight plastic
