Ok so here is the question. I have a choice of those 3 and I am not certain which way to go. I am looking for suggestions that you all have from using the devices and I will provide some sort of criteria so you can give me a better idea.
1. A UI that is intuitive and not a royal pain in the rear to deal with.
2. Seeing as I tend to like to take photo's and watch Movies I would like a device that has a wide range of files it can play but also has a Very good screen and doesn't suffer from banding of lines through the screen and also has good viewability while out doors.
3. Takes good photos and video.
4. I don't care if I have LTE or not considering I am on a 200MB data plan and ALWAYS turn off data unless I Need it when I am out and even than I look for Wi-Fi first.
5. I would Like FM Radio but not a Deal Breaker just like I would Like NFC but again not a deal breaker.
6. Has good Volume when listening through headphones. Don't care so much about external speaker.
7. Has good record at keeping up with Google OS Updates as in ICS and such
Also for those who will say Wait for a different device to come out, that is not an option considering I am running out of time to make a decision within the 30 day return window. I think I have like 8 days left.
Anyway I await information about what you all think and thanks in advance to all who do answer.
None of the above. Import a Galaxy Note instead, it bests all 3 of those. 5.3" AMOLED 1280x800 resolution with a 1.4 GHz Exynos chip.
The SkyRocket is basically the SGS2 with a larger screen. I would choose either of the Samsungs before I would an HTC. I don't much care for the low-quality HTC brand.
droid razr seems awesome!
Well i think the Notes out since it looks like you will be buying on contract. If you are buying off contract i would recommend the Galaxy nexus which comes out this week and should be available for import soon
The skyrocket is like the galaxy s2 except it has a 4.5 in. Super amoled plus display and 1. 5ghz dual core. If you like to watch movies or videos on your phone then go for the skyrocket
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
if you are on AT&T you can use any device you want
i'll go for the Galaxy Note if i were you, else the LTE Sky**** is pretty decent
oohh oops that was an internal joke
I love my GS2. I think a Galaxy Note would be cool, but I can't imagine a phone with that big a screen. I'm liking the 4.3 vs the 3.5 on my previous iPhone 4

I am confused by this post.
According to you... Samsung's plastic phones are of higher quality then HTCs aluminum uni body phones?
Please explain how u came to this conclusion lol? Please stop spreading BS... average consumer is already ill informed as it is...
The vivid is plastic too, so HTC has no advantages there IRT build quality.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
HTC phones have a much sturdier build quality than any other phone manufacturer I know.
OK so a little confused by the galaxy note. Looks like it is released in the UK so I can't get it as I am on att network in the US so I am limited to phones that are available there.
I hate to say it but if i were buying now it would be a Samsung. I don't like plasticky phones, but i do like phones that have quality components, i.e Power buttons that don't die every few months of use, speakers that you can actually hear, or digitizers that don't start registering touches across the screen from where you actually touch it.
Have HTC released a phone yet with a camera that's on par with the ones found in other manufacturers devices, or one that doesn't run through an entire battery in under 4 hours of use? Do thay release devices with beautiful SAMOLED + screens?
which one would you prefer?pick up you prefer one
Made my choice, out of the 3 I went with the vivid. The build quality is there, fills solid in hand. The battery life is decent (1620 mah) and the screen is much sharper than the skyrocket's. Not everyone likes the oversaturated samoleds, and I didn't want to end up with a wvga screen (stretched to 4.5" looks really bad in my opinion) especially now, when all new highend devices of 2012 will have high resolution.

and you still have 30 days
I was at the At&t store checking out the Galaxy S2, S2 Skyrocket, and the HTC Vivid. I can see why there are many who are fans of the Galaxy S2 phones. The Galaxy S2 is skinny, light in weight, vibrant screen, and has a large battery. However I ultimately believed the Vivid is a better phone for what I was looking for. I found GS2 phones feeling a bit cheap on the outer casing. The plastic felt too thin all the way around and didn't feel very solid. The color on the screen looks very very impressive but often feels unnatural and over saturated (like putting contrast on your TV all the way up). Particularly on the Skyrocket, the WVGA resolution feels very inadequate for screens 4.5 inches and above. You literally can see pixels as they look over stretched on 4.5 and qHD just do a much better job at that size. What really pushed me to the Vivid was that Sense just feel and functions much better to me than Samsung's TouchWiz to an otherwize an impressive hardware.
But either way, both phones will accomplish (pretty much) any task just the same
Edit: looks like you made your pick, good choice
I would leave AT&T! they get crappy android phones. I left AT&T for T-Mobile and got the HTC Sensation 4G and love it, and my bill is half the price of AT&T's now
The vivid does 1080p at 60fps. That's reason enough for some people to get it. I'm Considering dropping tmobile for AT&T just for that camcorder on that phone.

It's the bastard son of the original Galaxy S.

Samsung made official announcement of Galaxy Ace Plus smartphone. It is an enhanced version of Galaxy Ace.......

same samsung designs !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Samsung should make a new design.
Most of the Galaxy series phones all look almost identical.
BTW, this phone is too expensive for its specs and features.
$500 for that? The SE Arc S is a much better buy, imo.
Even the 18-month-old Galaxy S has a better screen and identical specs.
And you can buy it cheaper than $500!
That - lag + decent games = iphone
nothing diferent but cpu and lcd
looks very much alike to the other samsung, whatever that model is.
God why samsung comes out with these such crappy designs, they always make same designs of the phone.
Yeah, I dislike it too. They have too iPhoney look, I think... And it's always the same
That's really cool, I want one.
looks like an iphone 3GS to me with better hardware specs...
anyway... year 2010 it's awesome to carry iphone 3GS, like a privilege.. but now no more.. even carry a iphone 4S is no privilege...
it's a norm already for big smart phones...
I agree with you amundfreak. Samsung definitely has to hire some new designers.
They need to ditch the nasty plastic, it's like getting a car without colour coded bumpers, just looks cheap and in my opinion most Samsung phones look and feel very cheap although that doesn't seem to reflect in the price. Infact my old toco sgh f480 has better build quality than any Samsung on the market! Like Samsung and many other manufacturers, all HTC phones have a very similar design but build quality is second to none and for me this was deciding factor in choosing my desire s, it looks and feels like a quality product. Samsung have taken 2 steps forward with the technology of there phones and a step back in terms of build quality, plastic phones were a hit in the 90's
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
And Samsung still gets sued by apple for copying their design... But lets face it, plastic has still some advantages over glass/Metal. You don't have to fear drops from some heights. I have here an old zune 120gb & moto defy. Both are still working great with the metal zune having some bad bruises and scratched color.
Screen size?
have this phone very nice phone
If the price is higher than the previous version, then it is not good enough to buy.
Hello i needed help in deciding on which tablet to buy dont mind about the price need some reviews from you people on your experience and why you bought that item im a teacher i needed something good tired of laptops because of the battery life it sucks and i apologize if this thread already exists THANK YOU for your replys
If price doesn't affect your decision go for the 700. (Stronger aluminum body gorilla glass) assuming your gonna have it at school ..however the s pen may come in handy also..just youtube them side by side that will probably be your best comparison.
thank you for your replybut am going to buy mine from currys they only have tf300 or galaxy note 10.1 from the quad core range
The transformer is great but has its I/O issues and it lags as well (after loads of apps). The note 10.1 looks really good but I haven't used one myself

Right now I have the Nexus S 4g. Love everything except the battery life (which has just took a huge step for the better) and the quiet speaker. Just updated it to AOKP Jelly Bean Milestone 1 and wow what a difference from CM10. But soon, I'll be forced (by the wife) to switch to Verizon, and I'm not exactly impressed with their lineup of phones, but I'm sure there are some that are worth looking at.
So anywho, this is what I look for in a phone...
-Screen resolution (I'm a sucker for a beautiful display, thank god for VooDoo Color on my phone)
-Battery life (I'm a hardcore texter, and frequently check my email, facebook, and a lil bit of web browsing. If it can get 10-12 hrs, I'm happy)
-Performance/Design Quality (Not a huge issue on the phones I'm interested in at this point, but could be if there's something new)
-Easy to Root/Mod with a strong community base!
-Size (Yea... it's gotta fit in my pocket... lol So "phablets" are out.)
Here is what I have for contenders so far...
-Samsung Galaxy SIII (not crazy about the design, but it has great specs and a good community base)
-HTC Droid DNA (sleek looking, nice specs... idk anything else)
-Galaxy Nexus (a little out of date, but great community base)
-LG Spectrum 2 (sleek looking and nice specs, pretty interested in the Optimus G, but it's only for Sprint)
-Moto Droid RAZR MAXX HD (not crazy about the design, but love the battery life and has a nice display)
Is there any phone I might be missing? And should I go for an IPS display or is the IPS display technology not worth it yet? Only thing I'm worried about on my list is the ease of rooting/modding the HTC and the Moto. Had issues with both manufacturers in the past. The LG would be a whole new ball game for me, but it is definitely a sleek looking phone.
Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

I would go with the galaxy nexus. Very budget friendly (for the CDMA verizon version) and you cant go wrong with a nexus device. The nexus s was updated to jellybean, so you can expect google to update the gnex for at least the next year or two.
I liked it for that reason as well. That and its basically bigger better version of my ns4g. Only thing that I didn't like was that people were complaining about the battery and quiet sound, same issues as this phone. Was hoping they would have corrected that. Although, battery can be addressed by a custom ROM.
S3 has a big community and development is strong there. The DNA is nice but a small non removable battery and no expendable storage is a deal breaker
I think best choice for you will be, if you take SGS3.. or maybe NEXUS 4 will be great choice.. it´s with performance compared to high end phones, and it´s cheap
If really care about the screen go for the DNA thanks to his beatiful 1920x1080 display wich is the double compared to its competitor, I wouldn't suggest it if you care more about modding.

Nexus 4
Go with either the Nexus 4 or the Galaxy SIII. I don't think you can go wrong with either phone.
If I could get the nexus 4 for Verizon, I would, but its not a CDMA phone from what I've read. So basically my best choices so far are the sgs3 or gnex... or is there something better on the way this coming year?

If I am very satisfied with having samsung galaxy young duos, in addition to the developer a lot also because the price is very affordable
Can't help to experience the impressive features of GN8 and going to transfer from iPad 3,it's on the way and going to arm it with protective cases and other accessory just like once did on iPad mate, seems there is no so many GN8 gadgets posted so far and just share your GN8 practical accessory discoveries here with fun..

Yeah, checked a lot case from ebay, yes the price there is competitive yet have no progress to get a right one after some time, for the case there seems not match Samsung GN8 high-end well and just will makes my mate a cheap one, never do this sorry things or would rather get my GN8 naked...
