[Q] CPU problem. Random restarts. - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I'm lucky owner of one of those Xooms WiFi US which plagued of mystery random restarts during use. No matter what ROM I use or what apps are installed, it restarts itself at any moment. Finally using Stability Test app, I discovered that problem in CPU, - I can't pass any benchmark on that tool longer than 1,5-2 minutes (when loads 2 cores near 90-95% - freeze n restart). Temperature seems to be normal - 35°C. What to do? Repair center or warranty or return are not an options, I'm not in US anymore.

Finally found a solution, try to set scalling to 1504 Mhz only and it's done (stock 1000 is a bad case). Dunno how and why, but after this I had no problems anymore with restarts. Running EOS rom on WiFi Xoom.

[Issue] Phone Randomly Heats Up When Inactive

for some reason, my tmobile nexus s phone will randomly get real hot for an hours. i won't really be using it and although it's cm7 modded it's not overclocked. i used logging tester and i don't see anything running. any suggestions why this is? i'm scared in time this will shorten the life.
Try changing the kernel
Mines would do the same thing until I started playing with kernels..

Undervolting problem

So Im using teg overclock to undervolt my phone, everythings fine(seriously seems like 35% more battery life) except 1 thing. The phone freezes and restarts ONLY when im on the web while not running anything else in the backround. Absolutely nothing else will freeze the phone, only that-
My question is, is there any way to know what clock its running at while on the web? Ive tried randomly adjusting and I cant seem to find which of the 5 clocks is causing the problem.
What are your current values?
FYI... something's always running in the background

I had the exact same problem as you when I first started undervolting. I used dsexton's values from the undervolting thread and my phone would be fine, then it would freeze whenever I used the web browser. So I increased all the voltages by a small amount (I did 20 mV, but your mileage may vary) and that solved the problem. All phones have different tolerances for undervolting.
Try using the values i modified and posted on dsextons thread, they work amazingly.

[Q]Touch screen doesnt respond 10% of time

HTC ONE XL
Hi Guys,
Have been following XDA for years since been with android and have been flashing my phones and others since. This problem i have not occured before and have only been experiencing since my last 2 flashes.
My day to day usage;
Listen to music 10 hours everyday, maybe more with headphones even while working.
Battery will last a good 20+hours maybe more
Play games and such and maybe make a few calls or sms thru out day.
every now and then when i unlock to maybe change song both touch screen and touch buttons will not repsond. I turned off and on swipe to unlock and still receive this bug every now and then. Not often but its a pain because it requires a hard reset.
Currently using Jelly bam with rohan kernal v6. I moved from m1KingKang. Both flashes have been fresh. including system wipe. these 2 are the only roms ive had this happen.
i have looked at other threads for other phones and they all say there is a problem, somthing wrong with the phone. I have had other roms where this does not happen.
My clock speed is set as min 500mhz and max 1700mhz

Black screen problem

Sometimes when my phone is idle, I try to turn it back on and its just a black screen. I have to take the battery out to get it to work again. Anyone else have this problem? I'm on numa if that helps.

I had that problem several months ago on SCV7. What are your CPU settings? When I was having that problem my CPU minimum was at 192 MHz. I bumped it up to 300 MHz and it hasn't happened again. The part I never figured out was that I hadn't changed my CPU setting up to that point, ever. It just started wigging out one day and it took me a few days to realize that was the problem. Hopefully your problem is just as easy to fix.
Brought to you by time and relative dimensions in space.

Did you do anything with your phone? New ROM perhaps? Try rebooting and let all the system processes and apps start up again and see if the problem persists. There also might be a rogue app, so watch out for that.
