Hi
I have one wifi issue with only one router, the brand of the router is a netgear wpn824v3. My phone never loss the connection with the router, but he didn't receive all the information I think. On the phone the internet dosen't work very well, and if I try to ping the phone with my computer, most of the time the ping fail. This router work well with any other android devices and my phone work perfect with any other router.
I run the CyanogenMod 7.1.0 Milestone XT720 rom made by fjfalcon, but I have this problem with every rom (even with the stock rom).
Thank you in advence.
PS : Sorry for all the mistake, the english language is not my primary language and I have some difficulty with the grammar.

Hi ppl, i bought one for my mother this week and everything is fine, except the wifi...
Tested everything before hacking it to install googleapps, and the wifi was weak and buggy.
Installed the updates and the wifi was still very unstable and slow.
My router is 1 meter from the device and even so, sometimes it does not connect, and sometimes it even sees my neighboor wifi, but it disconnects a lot and gets horrible download speeds
So any thing i can make or install to get the wifi to really work ?
Wifi and net is not priority on this device, since my mom uses her 3g on a notebook, but would be a plus to download ebook readers and games over wifi
Still not flashing froyo cos its not mine and dont wanna risk it
[]s and tks !
hi, I solved my problem in wifi enabling DHCP on my wifi router. Try... may be it resolve.
hi, sorry for delay, i forgot to recheck here, since the tablet belongs to my mom.
i have dhcp on my router too, but still the tablet does not find anything
but tks anyway
putting this up for those on cm7 (especially 2.3.5 and above) or on stock rom and are having problems with wifi connectivity. case in point is upon first boot after a clean install, device can connect to wifi w/ apparently no problems. on subsequent wifi wake, however, it's either wifi is:
stuck in scanning
connects then disconnects or
all network/s are not in range
...even though other devices such as laptops or iWhatever have no problems connecting & browsing.
you may also need to set the regulatory domain on your device (settings-->wireless & networks-->wifi settings-->menu-->advanced) depending on your region (ch.11 works for me here in the philippines). this should match (or be higher than) the one you'll set on your router, as attached.
got this to work on three legends (one on a dlink router and the rest on different models of linksys) and on a dhd(?), router unknown. this is not THE end-all/ultimate solution, however. consider it as a first step in troubleshooting. HTH

Hello everybody! My HTC Legend is not rooted. Yesterday i bought new router D-Link DIR 615. Everything is ok: my laptop founds the WiFi, my girlfriend cellphone (Nokia 5230) founds the WiFi and it works awesome for them, BUT my HTC Legend don't see the WiFi at all. I disableb the WiFi Protected Setup but still nothing. Made the Beacon period to 30 but still nothing. I config the router without any type of security but still no detecting the WiFi. The 802.11 mode is mixed, Auto Channel is on too and still nothing. Please any opinions?! Thank you in advance!
P.S. I am sorry for my bad english!

try manually adjusting your router's channel to 11-14 instead of just "auto". worked for me on cm7. HTH

Dear heartbrake,
i had this issue eversince upgrading to 4.1 from 2.3. Exactl the same behaviour - but: I have the same thing happening with any linux distro i use at my house. Debian, Ubuntu, Kubuntu Linuxmint or openSuse they all showed up with at least 10 times trying to connect and hanging at "obtaining IP Adress" similar to my phone. With any Win device a connect is instant if Winphone or Windows Laptop.
BUT:
Last week i flashed CM10.2 and at that point the WIFI did connect as it should. So Problem solved for me
Hope this helps you a little
Cheers

You do have DHCP turned on on router? Try to wipe cache in recovery.

It can also happen that there is a problem obtaining a IP for a linux based system while beeing in an area where two WIFI transmitters with the same SSID blend e.g. a range extender or an access point.
Windows somehow just does not give a s**t... dont know if i like this - better sort the the things out than to instantly step over an issue - but i dont have the time to wait 10min each time trying to connect to WiFi.
The Wifi of my LG TV shows two identical SSIDs to connect to(Router and the Range Extender), all other machines just one(the stronger one)

not experienced with linux but i think its a bug in firmware 4.1 jb..i even got the same bug in cm 10.1 and i managed to fix it by using 3rd party hotspot software for windows as it now assigns the ip address without any problem..
Hi everybody
I bought a Zopo ZP999 2 weeks ago and globally i'm very satisfied with it. The only problem is that when I connect it with my wifi network after 15 seconds i'm still connected but without debt. My smartphone run under Android 4.4.2 and I'm connected with the protocole WPA AES.
I just want to say that at my work every works perfectly on the wifi network. I tried to change the security protocol at home and nothing change. I also tried another router wifi with 3 differents protocols and same results.
Is somebody have a solution for this problem ?
Thanks a lot
Jeff
So if you're saying you have no issues with wifi at work but at home, you need to contact your home isp and trouble shoot with them.
Thank you

At work we installed a new WiFi router a few months back. The connection is open and no one needs a password to connect to it. But many who bought android phones recently arent able to connect to it. I have a OnePlus One with android 4.4.4 which doesnt connect to the WiFi. My colleagues own Xiaomi, Motorola phones which they bought recently, which also doesnt connect to the internet.
The phones detect the WiFi signal, says the network is saved but fails to connect to it no matter what. The temporary solution is to make our laptop into a WiFi router and use it but this is seriously annoying. The router is from HP and I dont know the exam model number for it at the moment
I will be grateful if someone can find any solution for this problem. Also, I am a novice when it comes to gadgets so, if your suggestion is to manually set up my WiFi settings please do so with clear instructions or a video of some sort. However I will be happy if this problem gets solved in a straightforward manner.
Please help!

No need to configure wifi on your device IMO.
Sounds like an issue with the wifi router.
To check an fix the internet settings of the wifi router, you will need the adminstrative access/console/password for the router.
Then you can check that all new devices afre allowed to connect. On some routers you can restrict the access to a list of known devices or by enabling a MAC address filtering.
If you find such options on the HP wifi router, disable it and restart the wifi.
And make sure that the SSID of the wifi network is visible (= not hidden). Some Android devices have issue connecting to hidden networks.
