[KERNEL] Overclocked Sensation and Sensation XE HTC stock kernel for HTC GB ROMs - HTC Sensation

This is hex edited by me, stock HTC kernel 2.6.35.13-gc35910f from HTC ROM 2.08.401.1 Android 2.3.5 Sense 3.5 for Sensation with enabled 1.5 GHz CPU frequency on Sensation and OC'ed GPU.
Not tested yet on Sensation XE.
Tested only with stock HTC Android 2.3.4 Sense 3.0 and Android 2.3.5 Sense 3.5 ROMs.
Features:
1.5 GHZ CPU frequency enabled on Sensation.
CPU frequencies and power management identical with Sensation XE.
30% faster than stock on Sensation.
GPU overclocked to 227 MHz in 2D mode and to 300 MHz or 320 MHz in 3D mode.
Installation:
This is flashable zip intended for install from recovery.
I used koush AnyKernel installer, so you can flash this kernel on any ROM.
Remember to do backup before flashing, especially boot partition.

Let the action begin...Cool!

Ah great work SFM!!
I was wondering when you were going to do the same thing for the 2.3.5 stock kernel.
Overclocked and a fully functional camera on 2.3.5 / 3.5 (Burst & HDR of course)...
A first! Congrats!
All Devs start to update ROMs in 3...2...1
Great job!!

i suppose this is the improved version of your previous kernel 1.5ghz, with improvement mainly on GPU right? btw, why there are 2 type (300mhz and 320mhz), does it have disadvantages on 320mhz?

This one been compiled as has Sebastianfm in kernel info, not htc. As for ics version f**king good work

No, everything is listed in OP.
For me GPU in 3D mode works properly on 320 MHz, but I read somewhere that this frequency can be unstable on some devices.

Thanks very much SebastianFM!
Kernel works nice on Senseay XE35! CF Bench overall 6585 after a short period of working with this kernel.
No issues so far, very smooth and noticeable faster.
What's remarkable is that the phone is getting less warm then with the custom kernels I normally use.

Sorry to ask. Whats the diff between both zips? Im on Sergios coredroid v3

you can use whichever one you want. if the 320 becomes unstable then switch to 300. i personally think 300 is more than enough.
@sebastian, does this kernel allow the use of a cpu controller app like system tuner? also, is there a difference between this and tinkys stock kernel thread?

I can't check this because I have ICS installed.
Yes, this is hex edited stock HTC kernel, not compiled from source code.

Awesome : )
Just in case others on the same ROM as me are waiting for feedback, it's working well so far with EnergyROM from 22nd December. Only an hour or so in at the mo.... Using 300 MHz gpu variant.

Thanks for posting that, I'm on energy as well and just found this kernel, will try it tonight.

Hi
Hi we just have noticed when using this Kernel and I open any video on gallery or youtube it just breaks the pixels. Any idea?

I haven't noticed anything like that at all. what Rom are you using, what is your set up?

Great alternative to the feature-laden kernels from show-p and Faux, no offense intended, just more streamlined. Not as many bells and whistles like extra governors but its consistent, stable, and benches off the charts - See Here.
Don't want to spam this new topic, but:
Is Sense 3.5 (ARHD 2.3.5) also supported?
168 MHz is really interesting =)

Hello,
I have 2 questions:
1. What it`ll happen if you try to install the kernel on sense 3.5(energy)?
2. If i am already on a custom kernel (bricked), do i need to install rom all over again? Or it will work if I flash return to stock ?
Would like to know about #2. Have to return to stock kernel first then apply this kernel?

[Driver] Qualcomm S3 Adreno 220 GPU ICS Flashable Update {UnSigned}

This Adreno GPU update is ONLY designed to work on Qualcomm S3 ARM7 Devices running ICS.
Greetings, I have been on XDA for a long time and I hope that you all can benefit from this patch as we have over at the Amaze Forums. Here is a link to my Original Thread and evidence of this patch's success for our Qualcomm S3 Adreno 220 GPU devices running ICS.
We have proven that this driver Patch has doubled our GPU throughput for 2D and 3D rendering.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631223
I have only tested this on my T-Mobile HTC Amaze (Qualcomm S3 Adreno 220 GPU) and have not experienced any issues.
I have created this Recovery Flashable Patch to Install the Qualcomm Updated Adreno Drivers on the "Official Ruby ICS" release.
Qualcomm Developers Website
I did not get a screenshot of the results before flashing this, however I have seen dramatically improved result on my Quadrant 3D scores with "Force 2D GPU rendering" UNCHECKED in the Setting->Develop Options Menu of this ICS Release. With this option checked I have seen improvements on both 2D and 3D. Although results are slightly degraded for 3D from post update the 2D results have doubled in value.
Quadrant results were obtained immediately after restart to avoid any other processes interfering with the results.
AFTER "Adreno ICS Update" Screenshot 2D Rendering NOT checked.

I am not sure if coindroid added these binaries to his ROM. Ask him.
This is for all who have ICS without the binaries pre-baked and would like to add these for performance results.

This seems like the new GL version doesnt it? is it ES GL 2.0 2184622?
Ehi guys this new update worked flawlessly for me.
Before the upgrade I had 2697 (2D 490, 3D 2195) with quadrant, after the update 3608 (2D 495, 3D 2220).
As you can see the improvement is not so incredible in graphics, but CPU has increased from 3231 to 6549 that's incredible! Also MEM increased around 600 points.
I'm running ARHD 6.6.3 XE with Sebastian FM 1.4.1 kernel.
Anyone experienced the same?

I UV by -100mv on my nexus 7 on Franco kernel and I do see a little extension of my battery. In your opinion it doesn't help?
Nice kernel, needs a little work as far as flash goes.

nope. it runs smooth here.
Holy s#$t!! We have a Lean Kernel for the Nexus 7! Is there going to be a Leantweaks script to go along with this? I have been using Lean on my Sprint and unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus running 920 max and I can't even tell its underclocked. I am also able to run 230 or even 180 minimum so I can't wait to see where this goes! Many thanks Imoseyon

just flashed this kernel and will give it a try..
one thing i noticed though..
while in first boot after flashing, "No-frills CPU Control" reported a max 1.5 GHz and min 204 MHz (which should be max 1.3 GHz as i read from the thread by the kernel developer)..
and after some time (without reboot), it reported max 700 MHz and min 204 MHz..
is this a kernel problem and "No-frills CPU Control" problem?

To be frank this will be the first MIUI that caught my attention.
I will try it once my internet recovered. Currently using phone data, quite slow and disturbing.
Again, thanks for your effort.
do you have another mirrors?http://d-h.st is better. because i have difficulty in downloading
minu rom is really good. What I don't like is the integration of miui account and other non-google stuff.

Care to be grateful ? It's not even his fault that devhost is misbehaving. You should be grateful.
Hello this is a ics rom based on android 4.0.3 / 3.2.22.
Why not upgrade this to current rom V5 Jelly Bean and could you update the control panel to work with version V5 miui.

Please read the original post. This ROM isn't for the latest stuff, but rather the most stable and efficient. MIUI V5 still has some issues and kills the battery quite quickly.
