cheers not sure if I have that already flashed but will have a look around to see if I can find it and if it matches the one I have

Which radio are you running on?

I'm on Vodafone uk, actually running SENSEaY 2.1.0 Rom and using radio following from 10.58...2_2, no issues so far. However Vodafone isn't the best one in 3G coverage. Also have sim card on orange and signal is a lot better.

Sorry I should have put that, like the post above I am running on Radio_10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2
its probably just me but I seemed to have quick speeds when out and about but it seems to have slowed down and a bit hit and miss sometimes

Just spotted this. Am on vodafone UK running 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2 and am having MAJOR issues with all ICS builds. I get little but mainly no signal. Could someone please advise on a better radio??
Thanks.

Yeah im finding signal strength with Vodafone is terrible and in my new house you like have to stand on your head spin 720 throw salt over the shoulder and pray to the signal gods and you might get enough signal for an mms or two to get thru...its terrible even my gf that is on 3!? have better signal in the house...so think I will take my business with someone else.

ye well i thought it maybe just sensation, as nokia`s fine in house. but mates htc desire hd wont get signal at work too. and i only get signal if i leave phone still on desk. head office no prayer of a signal any where quite annoying as both locations are near leeds

[Q] WI FI Calling on HTC sensation

Hi guys,
Sorry if this has been discussed but i am new and not very tech savy so forgive me.
I have a HTC sensation that I am using on tmobile USA network.
The phone is working great but it does not have the WI FI Calling app that comes with Tmobile branded HTC senations.
I need this app to work on my OEM/Unbranded HTC sensation because parts of my office has no connection from tmobile and this app will be priceless for me!
Please direct me to an easy way to get this app on my HTC sensation.
THANKS
Is that stock firmware? Is your phone rooted?

if your running a stock unbranded sensation, you need to root the phone to even start the process. I have a thread where you can make sure you have the RILs, the APK and the line for support in your build.prop, but you could just flash one of the good roms since most of them include wifi calling anyways
Please tell me one of the really good ones that you know off that works without glitches as being a physician, my phone HAS to work.
Please. thanks.

As far as ROMs with WiFi Calling, you can take your pick of any threads in the Sensation Development forum marked TMOUS**. Personally, I've been using MT_S4G (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201972). I can confirm that WiFi calling works like a charm.
Just make sure you've backed up your important information (Call Logs, Text Messages, etc.) before you flash a custom ROM. Sorry if that's old news, just wanted to make sure.
And one small side-note, I'd personally hold off on telling people you'll donate when asking for replies. I know you meant it kindly, and to communicate your urgency. But it might get taken the wrong way by some folks. We're all on here to help each other out because it's fun, not necessarily because we're looking to make a couple bucks :]
Good luck!
**Actually, I just realized that you're on an unbranded phone. Duh. If that's the case, I don't know if you necessarily HAVE to use a custom ROM marked TMOUS. Maybe someone else can confirm this for me.
No you dont,Leedroids rom has a flashable zip to install it and it works fine on my unbranded sensation if i smash a TMO Sim in it

Uhh..
So anyway, I tried searching and most of the time I wouldn't know what to search for. I am deployed to a place in the desert and I have my HTC Inspire 4G rooted with a Wataniya Prepaid Sim installed. The phone works fine for the exception that I pay 70ish bucks a month for 40KD, in which 20KD is used for my unlimited internet called NetToPhone. Anywho, the problem is this. Appareantly my radio I am using is not "compatable" with the towers here, so 3G is out of the question. I have been searching and searching and talking to the Hindu people here to try and figure out why I was not receiving 3G service when my line is set for it and I had FINALLY stumbled upon something today saying my radio is not capable? I flashed my radio and ROM twice since receiving my Inspire and everytime I has an issue I come here.
With that being said, I am asking if anyone is familiar with radios and 800MHz and 1900MHz bands and towers and all that other nice stuff, and if someone could tell me which radio would be appropriate for me to use to recieve my 3G service here for the duration of my deployment. I can always flash back to a US radio if I need to when I return back to the states.
My phone information :
Andriod Ver - 2.3.5
Sense - 3.0
Soft. Number - ARHD 6.1.2
Kernel Ver. - 2.6.35.14-RCMIX-ARHD-5.0
BB Ver. - 12.62.60.27P_26.13.04.19_M
Build Number - 3.06.405.1 CL150597
MODS :
ARHD No Sense 0.16
ARHD FullTrans QSXL 6X 0.1
I check this site pretty religiously for updates to my ROM, radio, and MODS and incase anything new and fancy comes out that I can force feed this little guy. Also, my email is [email protected]... Any help is appreciated.

First of all thank you serving.
Unfortunately. I got some bad news. our inspire are not 3g compatible with most of the world(Canada and Australia excluded). They use the 900 and2100 bands. This is a hardware thing so no radio or rom flashing can change it. You are stuck on edge I'm afraid
I need a new sig

T-Mobile Sensation 4G ICS --RELEASED--

I was speaking with a HTC customer service today with a basic support issue and while i was on the phone with them i asked about android 4.0. I take most claims like this with a grain of salt but being that this is from HTC tech support I assume that it is a reliable source. According to HTC, the ICS update for the T-Mobile Sensation
4G was released to be pushed YESTERDAY with the initial push starting today through April 1st with a schedualed upgrade completion by the end of april. I know there are a lot of naah sayers that will want to attack this post because they believe that it will be summer time or never or after the release og the HTC One S and to counter those comments before they happen i want to say very blatantly "I DONT CARE".
Man I hope whoever told you that was not BSing you. That would be great cause I want to wait for the official update before I S-off, flash a custom recovery and then a custom ICS ROM to my current Sensation.
I believe you,but what they said about it being pushed yesterday.... Does that mean it should be showing at any time today or tommrow?

IF they really did push it yesterday, it should show up SOON. From what I know, the carries have the say if they want it released or not.

Well to be honest it does make a difference, the difference being that I want to wait for the OTA. I have that right right you know. Not to mention I rather like the Visual Voice Mail app.
Don't get me wrong I tried several of the very first alpha and Beta ICS ROMs on my original Sensation. It was S-off and Super CID with a custom boot animation that I had made for myself. But it crapped out on me with total shutdown, it would not charge or turn on. And it did this very suddenly. So I had to get a replacement from T-Mobile and I want to keep this one stock until I get to try out the Official OTA for the T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G. I am doing this just in case I want to request another replacement for any reason, oh and did I mention my replacement had bad dust under the screen so I am really considering replacing it anyway. That is another difference it makes. So as you can see you did not know all the variables and really should not have said something so arrogant. And it does make a difference.
Last night around 10:00 pm T-mobile sent a text and it said OTA UP three times, so I believe something is up......
Last nite I did the *#*#checkin#*#* thing and it came back with updates for almost all of The tmobile branded preinstalled apps.

A little late to the party I see.
HTC Sensation 4G w/ Beats Audio
Doubt it
On their Facebook page the last couple days T-Mobile has been responding to inquiries about ICS on the Sensation with variations on the following theme "we are currently testing ICS on the Sensation but it isn't the experience we are looking for so HTC is working on our feedback before we send it out and we don't have a time yet. " Doesn't sound like it will be out anytime in the next few weeks. It sounds like T-Mobile and HTC will end up pointing fingers at each other leaving us waiting till at least the second half of the year for our ICS.

Sluggish WiFi? Try this:

If you're having trouble with WiFi becoming sluggish, it may be as simple as needing to delete your wifi data.
Navigate, in Root Explorer (or any capable of accessing /data) to /data/misc. Now, either delete the /data/misc/wifi folder entirely, or if you're being anal, you can rename it to something like 'backup_wifi'.
Reboot. On this startup, your phone will rebuild the wifi data, and if you're lucky, everything will be back up to speed. It helped out with my issues after flashing a few ROMs. Sometimes that stuff can get corrupted, as I can attest to with my HP Touchpad countless times. Once you're satisfied with the result, you can delete the old folder, if you chose to rename it instead of deleting it.
Anyways, post your results if you try it.
Weird how so many people are having bad WiFi and I'm not. It might be because I'm on the newest T-Mobile stock Rom.

The only trouble I've had is with non-stock ROMs, such as UTB and Black Dragon. I think a lot of those with issues may be doing the same.

Can you port your baseband version, which indicates radio version I think. It can be found in software information->more.

Yes, it could be a solution cos at work with better WiFi router working on 802.11n my phone connects to it all the time without problem but at home my one I believe does not work on n so it may cause the WiFi issue.
However, I still think this is a software problem cos my old incredible s worked flawlessly both at work and home so the radio must playing a role here.

OK, quote myself, there might be something wrong with what I said about Radio and Wifi, there might be no connection between these two. I read some other forums someone suggested Radio has nothing to do with wifi....
Sorry for the confusion, could any one who is familiar with Radio in Android comment on this? If there is indeed no link between these two, we might need to think other things which cause the Wifi problem.
My bad, should have done more research rather than just pointing to Radio which appeared on top of my head when thinking about the problem.

Weird how so many people are having bad WiFi and I'm not. It might be because I'm on the newest T-Mobile stock Rom.

What's the new Tmo Rom software version?

Guys, let's try to stay on topic a bit. This thread has been quasi-hijacked. I posted this because I want to know if others are able to fix their problems by using my fix method. 2 Pages of posts now and not a single person has bothered to say whether they tried my method, much less their results. It's turned into a debate about wifi in general.

Can you port your baseband version, which indicates radio version I think. It can be found in software information->more.
Btw, mine one is 0.15.31501S.19_10.12.31501S.06L
If you have a different one, it may mean yours is newer and better. Thanks

T-Mobile USA releasing 1.84.531.2 710RD

I just read a post on TMO News and they are releasing a software update, the big changes are as follows:
Improvements
Resolves goodbye splash not appearing when powering off due to low battery.
Resolves voicemail indicator not appearing while using Wi-Fi calling.
Improvements to Wi-Fi Calling
Improvements to camera stability
Resolves signal fluctuation.
It's dropping tomorrow so if you have the stock ROM you should be able to go into software updates and look for update and get it right away.
I have to wait for a dev to incorporate these changes as my phone is rooted, so I'll look forward to that once they get a dump.
It seems the 0.17 radio software is being released
I wish it included a fix for SMS notifications... I find I don't get a status icon or notification sound about 1/5 of the time.

The most stupid ota ive ever seen. "Does not work on rooted devices"
I agree. First they allow to unlock the bootloader and then they release an update just for unrooted device...make you happy with one hand and take it away with the other, boh!?!
Do you know if this update is available already in italy? I am mainly interested in the radio update 0.17
search before post?

Actually I did, maybe if he had some content in his post instead of just posting the word update and a link to a website I would've found it.

Updates have never come to rooted devices, this is the first one I've seen actually address the issue, and probably due to HTC's bootloader policy.
As far as I know and the article said this update is only for T-Mobile USA, not any other countries.

Hope it will resolve HOME button issue:

These are probably the existing EU updates repackaged for the US.

According to cerebeln Radio base band would be 0.17 when European one(1.78) has the 0.16 version.
Let me hope ;-)
the radio is based on the software build... As I learned that the newest radio is not always the best radio
True. The 'best' radio depends on what ROM you are using. I have a TMOBUS device running on LeeDroid's ROM (EU). The EU radio works best for me since it is an EU ROM. When I restored my stock nand, the US version seemed to work better (data fluctuation and overall stability).
I just have no idea how we are going to flash the new radio, bootloader, etc without having an RUU or getting S-Off. Is it possible?

Can someone tell me if the legacy buttons on every single app is part of HTC? Because I know a lot of apps have the legacy buttons somewhere in the corner but the ones at the bottom are always there. If so, will this update have anything to do with it or am I just crazy?
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 2
Legacy button at the bottom is the fault of the app makers, not the phone, they haven't revised their code to optimize for ICS. One non-Google example of an app that does have the menu in the top corner is TripAdvisor. So, the update is not going to address that.
Well I saw someone post that they loaded a custom ROM on the HTC one x that uses the multicasting button as the menu button, do you happen to know if a stock ROM exist for this phone that does that?
