[Q] Samsun Gio 800 mhz is default or overcloking? - General Questions and Answers

My friend say the amr6 from gio is original 600 mhz with overclocking to 800 mhz (+200 mhz).
Its that true?
Because samsung mini to have 800 mhz have got CyanogenMod 7.1.0 (Android 2.3.7.1) to have 806 mhz, and how can be possible gio have 800 mhz without cyanogen if the amr6 are really overclock.
My i buy in vodafone official shop.

if you look at the technical details of the phone it says:
HARDWARE AND S.O.
S.O.: Android OS
Version: 2.2 Froyo, TouchWiz UI v3.0
Processor: MSM7227-1 Turbo 800 MHz
if I have been helpful, please thanks.

One little question this turbo does mean overcloking but means give more fast cache to cpu right?

yes, when CPU is under high stress the cache is increased as the clock. CPUs have different "slots" with certain clock, when the processor needs to do a lot of work he sets the CPU slot higher in this case 800MHz.
if I have been helpful, please thanks.

Try to install this then your processor is at 624 Mhz.
PS.Remember to soft reset after installation and then go to System> performance and change the CPU speed.
thanks, bat i think its only battclok not support 600mhz
Thank you, this made my Mini a bit faster..

we can Overclock the GPU to run at 384Mhz like her big brothers ( OMAP4460 )

Check the wiki page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Instruments_OMAP#OMAP_4
Omap 4 tecnology.
You can see:
OMAP4430 PowerVR SGX540 @ 304 Mhz
OMAP4440 PowerVR SGX540 @ 384 MHz
OMAP4460 PowerVR SGX540 @ 384 MHz
OMAP4470 PowerVR SGX544 @ 384 MHz
And this last, the memory runs at 440Mhz, when the SGSII runs at 600Mhz, so the Optimus 3D? what frequency are runing the mems? ( if is 300Mhz, that dual chanel is wort? )
Anyway, i think this GPU can be overclocked to 384 Mhz? What do you think?
To overclock the o3d you need kernel that support overclocking. This kernel will come with CM7 rom

But i mean at GPU level, i read the sgx540 is hard to overclock...
Any way i can make my mod of the cam for the CM7 ? or is source close?
I think it's possible coz the same GPU existz in Galaxy S and o/c to 350Mhz and more with Talon kernel wasnt nothing special to make
Might be as easy as changing the source in
/drivers/gpu/pvr/omap4/sysconfig.h
#define VS_PRODUCT_NAME "OMAP4"
.......
#if defined(SGX_CLK_CORE_DIV5)
#if defined(CONFIG_SGX_REV110)
#define SYS_SGX_CLOCK_SPEED 304742400
#endif

apples and oranges comparing the two since only the cpu cores are the same.

Difference version ONE S

any different between T-mobile ONE S with S4 CPU and other ONE S with S4 CPU version ?
For root and install customer Rom, are they support all version of ONE S (S4 & S3)?
my living place is selling S3 version, but i want to buy a S4 version!
in XDA can find many rom to install but i don't know will difference version of ONE S affect the rom or not?
Please help ! Thanks !
The Snapdragon MSM8260A (notice the A) is the S4 CPU, specs talk for themselves :
1.5GHz, 1024Kb L2 cache, 500MHz Dual Chanel LPDDR2, 500MHz Hexagon core, Adreno 225 GPU
The Snapdragon MSM8260 (no A) is the S3 CPU:
1.7GHz, 512Kb L2 cache, 266MHz Single Chanel LPDDR2, 400MHz Hexagon core, Adreno 220 GPU.
As you can see, even if the S3 CPU as a 200MHz boost in speed, there's still amajor change in specs.
The rooting process is different, ROM support is different as well (Don't flash S4 ROMs on a S3 device or you'll brick it) but some good devs support both versions.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
The TMOUS and international S4 One S are the same except for supported WCDMA frequencies, check the table at http://www.anandtech.com/show/5868/htc-one-s-review-international-and-tmobile/7
You can flash ROMs and recoveries between those two devices no problem. The S3 variant need other ROMs and recoveries.

Moto Z clocked @2.15? Naahh... @1.82? Naahh... it's @1.59!!!

Nobody still have discussed it but... our Moto Z XT1650-03 are *really* underclocked!!!
Let's start from the beginning...
First models on marked were the Verizon's Droid version and their SD820 were clocked @2.15 GHz (at least so declared officially Motorola)...
Then came out the unbranded international version and, even if not so "advertized" by Motorola, it's clock was lowered (officially...), to 1.82 GHz. True?
False.
Even if apps like CPU-Z find the CPU able to work between 300 MHz and 1.82 GHz, the real clock frequencies used by Moto Z are in the range 652 MHz - 1.59 GHz!!!
Using root, both my "reference" apps, Antutu CPU Master Pro & FauxClock show this range (652 - 1,59) as used BUT while the lower clock can be lowered to 300 MHz (best setting for longer battery life in my opinion... ), there is NO option to go over 1.59 GHZ at all!!!
From my experience there should be two more setting 1.82 GHZ and, probably, something around @1.7x GHz, but both are unavailable on stock kernel.
So, if @erfanoabdi has really raised clock to real 2.15 GHz in its modified kernel, the difference in performance should be really noticeable! (I don't know about battery life anyway... ).

Hi, let me explain it
If you take look at snapdragon 820 details and tech specs you will see this processor have 4 core and
2 core of them is clockable up to 2.15
And other 2 core is clockable up to 1.5
And you can also check it by kernel adiutor app on your device.
International version of moto z using same hardware as Verizon edition but kernel of them are different and CPU of it underclocked to 1.3 and 1.8 Hz
There is some restrictions for GPU too and I fixed them on my kernel
So don't worry
Use my turboZ or Verizon (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69459891&postcount=205) kernel for better speed and performance

With turboz kernel 0.7 it never pass 1.59.
Performance are great all most everywhere with elementalX governor. Just some scrolling stuttering. All is fast and no lags.
It's probably because it's reading the speeds of the other 2 cores in the "efficiency" cluster.

So any battery saving experience when you lower the minimum CPU speed to 300MHz?
Is it really running at 300MHz instead of 652MHz?

Yes, it seems so. Yes, real 300 MHz...
Hello. I am interested in purchasing this phone but am confused by the different versions and conflicting specs that I see online for each. So certain versions have the faster 2.15GHz processor vs 1.8GHz but lack Band 12 support (I'm on T-Mobile). While the others have Band 12 but have the slower processor? Is that correct; there is no way to have both?

You can have both by unlocking the bootloader and installing custom roms.

So I could purchase either version and use a custom rom to unlock the missing features, i.e. the hardware is identical? Is one route recommended over the other?

I think only a specific variant like the Verizon one is in a bs state when it comes to software. Other than that one, you should be "on equal grounds".

Can Poco x3 NFC snapdragon 732g be overclocked if yes then what kernal to use to oc gpu/cpu

It it possible?
I want to overclock like 2.5ghz or 2.9 and gpu to 950 or 900mhz, I seen on YouTube Samsung Galaxy S5 getting to 2.9ghz while the base the 1.3ghz

If u were to overclock a cpu that much ud need way better coolers and since u cant really install a cooler on a phone even if it were possible u wouldnt wanna do it. Also your battery life wouldve been greatly reduced
