There's a transparent circle on my screen and you can see it wherever you are on the phone but I can't send or I guess post a photo cause I believe its s hardware issue, nfc chip maybe? I think it's in a circle. Is anyone else having this problem? What should I do about it?

Where is it located?
Someone said that it is caused by the vacuum cup that is used to handle the display glass (during the manufacturing process)

Are you sure it's not a 3red party app called circle launcher?

That may be closer to an answer.

I've always had this weird circle problem on my screen but didn't think much of it. It's mostly only noticeable with a solid color, like dark gray. Since I've been running ICS, there's a lot more gray in use, especially on the Contact screen and it's getting to be a little annoying.
Here is a picture of my phone and the image I created for the test. View this image on your phone and see if the circle shows up.
Maybe a relative is trying to contact you from beyond?
I like californiarailroader answer, but It is probably due to a suction cup like was stated before. Co-worker puts one on my protected screen at work and it leaves a similar mark. I would just buff it off

I know many of us have been ignoring the slight LCD bleed on the top corners of our G2x. We are now not able feel it due to the white notification bar. We have to view it only in a black background.
I have rooted the phone but did not install the Eagle rom yet.
Anyone who installed this rom, Did you feel that the LCD bleed is too much visible on black notification bar?
I had it flashed on mine and could not notice it at all

One more reason to love this phone...
I was nervous about that so when I saw eagle had the black bar I tried it and was releaved to not notice the bleed. So far I only notice it on startup when its dark. Someone who has worse bleed may notice it .
When I noticed the backlight bleed one of the first things I did was think OMG gingerbread!!! I didnt want that bleed showing up on the black notification bar. I downloaded these pics to test exactly what it would look like on gingerbread and was horrified to see that the bleed was completely noticable, especially in the app drawer. Thats when I exchanged my phone for one that had less backlight bleed. Still has some but only about half as bad.

I am planning to install it and verify it. My worry was if I notice too much bleed and have to return it, will nandroid restore do the magic to get the phone back to original stock version.
My bleed is only minimal in the top right corner by the time/clock. I dont see it with eagle rom. But...is it my bleed or is the status bar 2 different shades of black? With the top half being lighter. I didnt have bleed across the entire top so im assuming the status bar is two toned. Anyone notice this?
@jrharvey - Thanks for the GB pics.
I didn't notice the bleed in the home page pic but in the app drawer top left corner show the bleed in day light. It would be significant in the night .
I am worried, if I return it I might get a phone which is worst than this . I don't have all the reboot issues. btw, this is my second phone.
Didn't notice the bleeding with the black bar.
Great idea to test with a screenshot. I just checked mine and sure enough I can see it in the upper left corner when brightness is 50% or higher, just sitting in my office. I don't notice it in the right corner because of the clock. In reality I always have an icon showing in the upper left corner as well so I wonder if I would actually notice it or not on my phone.

I was curious about the two tone status bar! I can't tell, but the status bar ain't solid black! So I guess we still can't figure it out until a solid black notification!

thanks for checking. i'm color blind, but still saw a difference in the 2 tone status bar. had me thinking more bleeding was starting\getting worse.
I'm on my second phone and was pretty satisfied. The bleeding is less compared to the first and doesn't really bother me at all since 95% of my time with the phone won't have an all black background.
But with the notification bar being black on Gingerbread, that's another issue. I downloaded the pics and on the app drawer pic, it's definately noticeable in the top left corner as there was no icon there.
With the white notification bar I can handle the bleed because I won't notice it much, but with the bar being black I don't think I'll be able to handle looking at that bleed every frickin time I use the phone.
I wasn't going to do a second exchange, but will have to now and if things don't improve I'll just refund it completely and wait for a SAMOLED+ phone. If the USA version of the SGS2 has SAMOLED+ instead of SC LCD (at this point it looks to be SAMOLED+ as the FCC papers indicate it is the GT-I9100 model) then I might go for that.
the G2x has an IPS screen. which is actually quite nice (if it doesn't bleed) its worse on battery but looks better at different angles as opposed to SAMOLED
My phone locked up with only a black screen, i thought the battery died but it was frozen had to remove battery to get it going again. When it was totally black I noticed bleeding and also backlight leaking or whatever term. I know my iPhone 4 QA is a lot better.

I agree the G2x's IPS screen is impressive and with the exception of black does seem to look on par or even better than Samsung's SAMOLED screen.
Guess LG just ran into a manufacturing issue with the latest batch as the Ipad 2's screen is also having bleeding issues.
What I'm more concern with is LG's warranty policy. I have been corresponding with their customer care department via emails and the two emails I received back doesn't sit too well with me.
My third G2x is coming in next week and hopefully the third time's the charm.

Thanks for the links...great idea. I loaded 'em up in a dark room at 100% brightness and only noticed very minimal bleed. As a comparison I did the same with my old HD2 and bleed was roughly the same. Looks like I got lucky (knocking on wood). Thanks again.
Hi all,
So I just got my Transformer this evening and am hoping and praying for no issues.
I am wondering about something when I turn on the unit however already... I cannot tell if this is normal or not.
On the lower part of the welcome screen about maybe a 1/4 way up from the bottom there seems to be a faint light bar/line that goes across from one side to the other in this area.
I cannot tell if this is part of the welcome screen or if this is a flaw. Everything as far as leaks goes and such looks great from all sides but this concerns me. If it's part of the welcome design screen then great! If not I think I obviously have a problem with the screen. I hope this is not the case.
I have attached the best image I could take with crap camera showing the line. I apologize for it not being the best quality.
If anyone can assist I'd truly appreciate it. I don't want to test it on other screens as I wanted to let my Transformer charge completely before getting into it as it states. What is a good amount of time to let it charge to get the most out of my battery?
Thanks again for all help offered.

You can't get a clear idea about light bleed with a background like that. Download a black image from the web and open it from the gallery app, that will give you an almost black screen. Light leak is most noticeable on a black screen with brightness set to max.

It's definitely not extremely blatant on this photo but you can certainly see it.

That's the background ... if there is a problem it will most likely be at the most extreme edges, it almost looks like there might be some on the bottom but that could be camera angle.
You already opened the box and took off the plastic, going past the welcome screen isn'tgoing to affect return policy or anything. Even if it did you can do a full wipe and be back to that screen in minutes.

Tough question. Probably? I think all have it to some degree, but like my new one I have to put a blanket over my head, turn the screen all black, and turn the brightness all the way up to notice it. If you don't notice it or it doesn't bother you it is just an aesthetic problem that shouldn't ever get worse (or better). If it does and you can exchange it I would recommend doing that instead of sending it to Asus. There are plenty of horror stories about people sending it for repair.
However I would wait until you only have a week left to send it back to see if you forget about it. Some people have gone through nearly a dozen returns looking for a perfect one. I mean we deserve to get one without flaws, but sadly these screens are so prone to bleed that it seems to make some people just give up on tablets...

Yeah I can understand that. That is a great answer.
I noticed there is also noticable bleed on the left side as well near the bottom as well as the bleed noticed on the bottom all closer to the center and left.
Probably want to try out another one with there being more than just a little at the bottom. What do you think degen?
Thanks for your response.

Like I mentioned I am on my second one, although I also had a blotch in the middle of my screen. If it bothers you now there's a good chance it always will. Sadly it's a roll of the dice. However having got mine from Amazon I figured I would rather return it then just regret it. Lightbleed SHOULDN'T exist but sadly you may have to settle with it to some degree but not a lot of it. If it bugs you while warching movies, playing games, or web browsing I would try exhanging it. Make sure to try it at night if you aren't sure. That's when it will be the most noticeable.

Thanks a lot Degen. I appreciate your help.
Question to all of you Infinity owners. I don't have any major issues, light bleed, etc. However, i do have a concern about the 1mm or so black bar around the edge of the display between the black bezel and the actual displayed image (even on the main homescreens). Does your Infinity have this issue? It's not very noticeable, however, I am curious as to if I should exchange mine for a new one or if they are designed this way to not utilize the full display.
It's stock, not rooted, and not unlocked *yet If someone has the issue, please post PICS. I am at work and can't exactly do that with mine at the moment.
But, basically, it looks as if there is a 1mm or .5mm black "frame" around the display between the black bezel and the actual display imaged. Kinda reminds me of a double picture frame.
Can someone post a pic of there homescreen in as highest resolution possible, whether you have the issue or not so I can make a determination.
Thanks in advance
Mines got this, infact my phone and nook color has it too. Never noticed it before, probably will never notice after I hit enter. I imagine perhaps this is too keep light from the screen from bouncing off the framed bezel and creating a blur effect, just me guessing here.

Thanks....kinda what I thought, but what is odd is that I didn't notice it on my Prime or my EVO 4G LTE. I guess it makes sense cause if you view it from different angles WO this border, it would cut off a mm or so of the screen (not a big deal), but it may be for some people.
Alright, thanks....Will keep mine then...

Try an alternate launcher such as Apex or Nova. You'll find that you can change the margin setting which allows you to use the entire screen using these launchers. I don't understand why the stock launcher wastes so much screen!
Hey everyone, I bought my HTC One S used, and at a discounted price because of screen burn-in. The burn-in isn't noticeable at higher brightness settings, but when there is a dark background applied, or when the backlight is dim, you can clearly see burned in areas.
Has anyone had any success using any burn-in removal techniques with apps like Display Tester?

What exactly is screen burn-in? Is it the same as the screen has different color depending on what angle you are looking at it? My experience is when i look directly on my screen, it show some yellowish in white background, but when i tilt it forward or backward, the white becomes white with no yellowish color. And when i turn it sideways it become pinkish.. do you think my screen is busted? Or is it what you call the screen burn-in?

TC is probably referring to ghosting. Kinda like
http://www.pixeltuneup.com/images/screenburn.jpg
or to a lessor extend but more common
http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/5523/2005fpwsw2.jpg
Notice the faint icons? As to fixing it, I don't believe there is a way other than replacing the screen. It happens when an image is displayed without movement. It sort of "burns" into the screen, and when viewing something else, its slightly visible, thus "ghosting"
As for the yellow tint you see in the whole screen, I believe some displays are just like that.

tbh i wonder what would happen if you attempted to burn in the color inverted (dont do it, lol)
But most likely a new screen, which isn't too expensive.
If you had a big enough discount, it'd be no problem.
Hi there,
I recently upgraded to an LG Velvet 5G running Android 10. For the most part, it's been great, but when I set a custom image as the background of the lock screen, the clock font keeps changing from white with no outline to black with a white outline. At first I thought it was just the pictures I was using but it doesn't seem to make any difference; if the text is on a light background it still sometimes appears white and vice versa. I also wondered if it had something to do with the automatic night mode setting because it seems to change around twice a day, but disabling that doesn't make any difference. Is there any way to disable this feature? Google searches and digging through the menu haven't helped so far. I'd be happy with it always remaining one or the other or being able to choose which it is, if that's an option.
Thanks!

Hi, benpeltz.

I had a G8X before it and it happened a lot more so I think it's some kind of LG bug.

LOL, no problem.
Oh, may I ask you something regarding your Velvet?
Either I'm going crazy too or experiencing a screen issue.
It seems mine has kind of a greyish screen....I know it has a pretty bright screen, but It seems like the blacks aren't really black.
And when I pull down my notifications bar while having something like a movie, or a YT video or even my Settings, the notification bar gets really stained in grey (with the black around) where there's something written in white. Idk if you can understand what I'm trying to say, it sounds confusing and I'm not a native English speaker lol.
But I can try to record it and post it for you.
Anyway, you're welcome and thank you in advance!
Peace,

I actually did. But it's not just the colors that seem washed out...it's this thing that when I have a black image with bright letters or a white image surrounded by black it makes a grey stain around the white. I'll post s screen record so you can see it. Man, it's killing me not knowing if I'm crazy or it's something normal, although it's pretty ugly and annoying for me. LoL
There you have it. Hope you can understand me better. It not only when pulling the notification bar, but also during videos or even when using a simple black wallpaper with a bright detail in it.

Are you referring to the "frosted glass" effect, where you see the background faintly behind the drop-down menu? If so, I certainly get it with the drop down but I don't get it when I'm playing videos. I'd appreciate a screenshot of that to make sure I'm tracking with you though.

Hi, benpeltz!
Just got the font colour issue now.
You're not crazy at all. Lol
As i mentioned before, I think this is due to some bug.
Peace

Yes, that's what happens on my phone periodically. Thanks for sharing the screenshot.
