And yesterday I went to Pattaya City which is about 140 Km. far away from bangkok. After I reached to my home in BKK and try to check my GPS again.
My curent location was in Pattay City !! oh my god ..now Im in BKK but show my current position in Pattaya !!
After that I try to install another ROM XXKPE/XXKPH
Finally, my GPS doesn't work anymore. I have tried so many time but its said that
" Your current Location is temporarily unavailable "
What does it mean ?
Please help me how to fix this.
*** One thing it also doesn't work on any app. such as cureent temperature *** I thought my GSP doesn't on any app. which is need to use GPS as a detector****

had to do some research, don't have all versions memorized
"2. I9003XXKP9
WARNING: DEV VERSION | NOT AN OFFICIAL SAMSUNG RELEASED STOCK ROM!
BUGS: YES, less bugs compared with XXKP7
so, you are not on a well-developed rom, even if you got it from a service center (unless the change from xx to dx denotes that it's fully official now). and how did you try to go from kp9 to kpq? direct? or, did you follow the steps properly, and go pit, pe, kph, kpq?
Sir, form DXKP9 to XXKPQ I did by install Galaxy V.5 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313079
Then my device changed to XXKPQ automaticly !!
But even I changed my device to orginall official ROM DXKP9 ... my GPS still doesn't work !!
( I've installed DXKP9 witout PIT file because the link to file download bring me to this " I9003DXKP9_I9003OLBKP7_I9003DXKP7_HOME.tar.rar " There is only one file !! there is no PDA/PHONE/BOOTLoader/CSC file) so i just put I9003DXKP9_I9003OLBKP7_I9003DXKP7_HOME.tar.rar in PDA and start it !!
Shall I put I9003DXKP9_I9003OLBKP7_I9003DXKP7_HOME.tar.rar in PDA and also put PIT in the same step ? and tick re-partition ????

see? you can't just flash a custom rom (galaxy v5 is not a stock rom)! you must flash stock first!
since dxkp9, as you stated, is apparently 2.3.5, then you should be able to, from there, have gone to kpq and then flash galaxy. since you're already there, why not try that instead of starting with kpe.
so: from dxkp9, flash STOCK kpq PDA, then deodex, then flash galaxy.
if it doesn't work right, you can be sure this will: flash pit, kpe ONCE, kph ONCE, kq ONCE, then deodex, then galaxy. and don't forget to install cfroot to back up your phone! happy flashing!

Thank You sir, I will try to get back to DXKP9 first then XXKPE with PIT and then XXKPH > XXKPQ
*** one Quest !! follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133787
Can I start from DXKP9 > XXKPE and then XXKPQ ?
because the thread just say that flash XXKPE once with PIT /PDA/Phone/CSC/Bootloader then follow by XXKPQ ROM !!!
It works but not properly !!!!
It works now sir, but seems that not properly !!
because it doesn't show me an actual current location !!
My home is in Nongkhaem area(you can see above pic) but GPS shows me the current location in Klong Toei area which is about 25 km. far away from my HOme.
What's this happened, sir ? any idea to fix it ?
Thank you sir.
download gps aids and fasterfix from market.
open fasterfix and change the NTP server to your country/continent
open gps and follow onscreen instructions
it might help to solve your bug

you moved faster than I could respond, lol
first, the simplest thing to do is install an app from the market, called gps test, and tell me how many satellites you get locked at the time your gps is reporting your location inaccurately. after that, if you don't mind trying again, flash again because you skipped a step
yes, just like the guide says, you can go directly from kpe to kpq, but I read about people having issues like that. I read that other people didn't when they put at least one other good fw in between the two (like kph). so, when I upgraded from kph to kpq, I went backwards first, and flashed pit, kpe, kph, kpq, and didn't have any problems at all. that's why always recommend the steps like I do
How to use GPS test,Sir ?
How do I know how many has been locked .... something like that ?
I don't know what to do ? where should I press a bottoms ?
I have found these !!!

yes, that is the app. are those your actual screen shots? how long d you let it stay on for before capturing those pics? if it's more than 1 min, then yes, your gps is still messed up, so try reflashing. follow the order I recommended this time
Thank You sir !
Thank You very much ,sir !!
I've tried to reflash XXKPQ ROM twice !! but seems that my GPS has some problem.
I open google map app. then my current location shows on map still now in my actual current location.
but, once i closed google map then turn GPS off and turn it on again then open google map.. Yes my current location is an actual one !!
but seems not to be stable .... lol once i close app. and open it again and tried to detected my location again !! Oh no !! change to another area again !! not properly again ha ha !! I am so tired !! then.... i will forget to fix it lol

well, if you've flashed from STOCK kpe (PIT AND ALL FILES) through STOCK kph to STOCK kpq twice, then yeah, I'm at a loss. but, you didn't say you restarted from pit, just that you reflashed kpq twice. did you start from pit or not?
YES

since you're familiar with odin now, this won't take long to do.
first, make a fresh install of kpq (pit, kpe, etc), just to be sure nothing will conflict with what you've already done.
then, flash cfroot. this is the one I use. an additional option would be to install utter chaos's kernel from here. then wipe the caches and make a backup before doing anything else. additionally, you can "pause" your upgrades and run your phone and install a gps app like gps test to make sure your gps is working before continuing.
if the frst cfroot gives you problems, flash this one instead. make sure to use the first link, since it's improved and already includes the kernel mods from utter chaos. then wipe the caches and make a backup before doing anything else. additionally, you can "pause" your upgrades and run your phone and install a gps app like gps test to make sure your gps is working before continuing.
then, deodex here.
then, you're ready for galaxy v5 w/working gps
make sure to read carefully and understand before flashing, but you shouldn't have any issues since you have some practice. good luck!

Oh i know that is available. But it's just that it has too many issues with it right now: Swype not working, FCs, Crackling sounds in audio, etc. So i wanted to flash a FW that is stable.
So i asked around a bit and found out that JPM is the most stable. But then i saw on samfirmware that they released XWJPF like 12 days back. And i haven't found anyone who has used it so far to get their input. So was just wondering which one to flash.
PS - never flashed a FW before, but been reading enough for the past two days to be comfortable enough to try it.
well i wud suggest u go for i5801 zhjpf......its the only rom which dont have the choppy call bug.

hi
i have used DDJP2 for a long time more than 2 weeks except for the swype not working(i dont use it so im OK) i have faced no problems at all as u have not flashed any rom till date id suggest u try flashing this vie kies and then decide what u want latter on
goodluck happy flashing
@haree
ok thanks...
Just to be clear you are not having the crackling sound bugs at all? Swype i can live without (there is a fix for that too though).
I can't upgrade via Kies coz the internet connection that i have blocks it. But i do have the one package tar file for DDJP2, so i can flash through odin.
But i have read that it is safer to flash without the bootloader, i.e., no chance of bricking it. So i was wondering if anyone has a build for JP2 with all individual files, that'd be great. Or if i can make it using the one package file someway, that'd be even better.
Oh and will flashing with ODIN delete my data or leave it intact??

As impressive as that was, I already googled both, and I'm currently making my way through the results. But, I don't seem to be making any progress with the ICS search.

ok... let me re-phrase... there is currently no ICS for I9003, there might be a compiled source for it sometime in the future (or maybe even is judging by search results). however, most stuff wouldnt work, and would need the work of a dedicated developer who owns a I9003, which we dont have (and even then would be buggy as hell)!
the obvious point still stands... dont bother
Fair enough. Thanks!

yes, exactly
reason: KPE is a full ROM (with bootloader, PDA etc) so can be seen as "base" for future roms, all other roms only have 1 PDA file

install samsung kies and connect the phone once via kies
then try flashing again, i think that should solve your problem
Actually I managed to fix it just by flashing the pit file with all the others (pda, phone, etc.) together i.e. at the same time and that worked. I also managed to flash XXKPQ right afterwards. Currently using your brilliant idea of a Google search to root XXKPQ!

why did you try to go backwards from GB to Froyo?
if you weren't really intending to go backwards, then start with kpe. after downloading the kpe file, use pit ONLY FIRST, then when done, remove battery, reinsert and go to download again and flash all of kpe, then kph, then kpq.
if you were intending to go to froyo, I don't know if a pit file is necessary first, but how are you getting errors in odin? is there any interruption during the process?

is the pit from kpe the same one needed to flash froyo? and before we try to push him to keep GB, he should respond about why he wanted to go backwards (maybe because of the push notification bug?)

The pit is not the same for froyo and gb...namely XXKB3 uses a pit file but has 3 files to choose where as a XXKPE has a 4th file which is a bootloader
@sirilpta change your annoying signature man!!

Check the md5 sum of the downloaded xxkpe file and also others. You need to go through xxkpe to xxkpq no need to flash xxkph

so you flashed the pit by itself, then disconnected the phone, removed the battery, reinserted the battery and went into download mode again without issues, but then kpe failed at the .sbl? the only thing I can think of are: 1) like sirilpta said, check the md5, or re-download the files, and ensure they are the proper size. I've had files fail at close to 100% completion with only a tiny bit of data missing, but that's all it takes to fail, and 2) something wrong with your phone. so, check the files and redownload them if necessary to make sure they're the proper size first and let us know how it goes.
hi all
Im new for XDA , actually i come here to learn from Experts well i guess now yet again i need a help
I flashed my Galaxy SL I9003 using the provided guidelines and the firmwares every thing was perfect until now. i flashed my phone from froyo to GB.
in froyo i used to use one app which is Al-jazeera news widget. it was pre-installed in my phone when i brought it. but sadly it is not available with GB. i purchase this phone in gulf region and now i have upgrade it with Russian firmware ( I9003SERKPU_SER )
Is there any way i can get it back (i dont want to go back to froyo.. i love GB )

This is the new value pack, i.e new official firmware.
It contains the Al Jazeera widget you were talking about. In addition, it has apps like tquran and prayertimes. It has a new lockscreen and callscreen.
It's perfectly safe to flash it. I got first hand experience.
Just flash it.

i tried that but no luck.....
please help
please help i did everything up to my knowledge i need guidance from experts
in short what i did :
1. installed Pakistan firmware thru Odin (2.3.4 KPH)
2. rooted
3. extract the file from /system/app using root explorer
4. took a copy of the ODEX file also
5. re-flashed my phone from the beginning (not just pda) with XXKPE and from
that to XXKPU
( FYI: didn't work in this either in my previous attempts)
6. rooted
7. copy the .apk and the ODEX file to /system/app using root explorer
8. set permission Rw-R-R for the .apk ( i even tried it as it was)
9. restart (no luck) then DE-ODEXed (still no luck)
10. ????????????
My phone (GT-I5800) is stuck with the above message on screen.
Here is the history.
1 - Flashed XXJPU which was OK
2 - Rooted with Superoneclick which reported OK, but also reported insufficient space to install superuser and busybox.
3 - Went to Play store and downloaded superuser.
4 - Phone hung trying to install superuser.
5 - Pulled battery and phone would not boot. Just stopped at Samsung GT- I5800 splash screen.
6 - Can get into download mode OK so reflashed XXJPU
7 - ODIN reported PASS but phone gets to install screen saying "Delete files, please wait" and just sits there forever.
Hopefully someone can see my errors and help out please?
I always had errors when trying to root XXJPU as well. JPU is quite buggy for me so it might be a firmware problem. Try flashing XXJPS.
You can download JPS from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497261

I'm using Odin 4.42 and fw from Sammobile.
I place ops package and put fw into the one file box.
Put phone into download mode and connect to PC.
Wait for yellow box then hit start
Odin returns a PASS but when phone reboots it just stops.
I think if I could get to recovery to reset and delete cache I might get some luck but can't get to recovery mode either....
Try using Odin 4.252 because that's the one I use. Download XXJPS from this thread. Make sure you have the right ops file name "apollo_0531.ops". Make sure you open Odin by right clicking and then clicking on "Run as administrator" and in Odin make sure you tick all the boxes EXCEPT the "Debug ONLY" box. Then click Start and wait and see. Also, after the ROM has been flashed the phone should automatically go into recovery and wipe the data and cache so you don't need to worry about that. Apart from what I've mentioned above, there is nothing wrong with your flashing process and everything should go smoothly.
Perfect, thanks for your time. All working normally again now
Can I ask your advice on rooting pls? Is Superoneclick OK to use?
Thanks again
Yes it is fine to superoneclick but I don't think its necessary since rooting itself doesnt affect the phone too much. You would have to root, then flash a custom kernel, add some tweaks/mods etc. to make a difference in performance so it would be much easier just staying unrooted if you are fine with the performance or just flash a custom ROM if you think the stock ROM is slow.
You should try out a CR based on Froyo. They are really advanced and give you all Froyo can give you. Fast phone, long battery live and everything works.

Thanks for the link.... Any more info on this ROM?
Its just the latest android 2.2 update for our phone but its also rooted and deodexed so it saves you the hassle. Google the benefits of deodexing if you have any issues.
