Oh i know that is available. But it's just that it has too many issues with it right now: Swype not working, FCs, Crackling sounds in audio, etc. So i wanted to flash a FW that is stable.
So i asked around a bit and found out that JPM is the most stable. But then i saw on samfirmware that they released XWJPF like 12 days back. And i haven't found anyone who has used it so far to get their input. So was just wondering which one to flash.
PS - never flashed a FW before, but been reading enough for the past two days to be comfortable enough to try it.

well i wud suggest u go for i5801 zhjpf......its the only rom which dont have the choppy call bug.

hi
i have used DDJP2 for a long time more than 2 weeks except for the swype not working(i dont use it so im OK) i have faced no problems at all as u have not flashed any rom till date id suggest u try flashing this vie kies and then decide what u want latter on
goodluck happy flashing

@haree
ok thanks...
Just to be clear you are not having the crackling sound bugs at all? Swype i can live without (there is a fix for that too though).
I can't upgrade via Kies coz the internet connection that i have blocks it. But i do have the one package tar file for DDJP2, so i can flash through odin.
But i have read that it is safer to flash without the bootloader, i.e., no chance of bricking it. So i was wondering if anyone has a build for JP2 with all individual files, that'd be great. Or if i can make it using the one package file someway, that'd be even better.
Oh and will flashing with ODIN delete my data or leave it intact??

hi
i dont understand ur internet problem
but if u want to flash via odin read the link given below in detail before attempting anything via odin off ur virus scan while using odin and log in as admin while using odin

hi
u have to be on DDJ6(ie original asia india 2.1) while flashing this or it wont work
assuming u are talking about DDJP2

I´ve flashed it yesterday and not perceived differences with JPM yet

just flash it man
the probablility of bricking is as low as burning yourself with a smoke

It didn't boot for me until I flashed JG6 eclair ROM first.
Can't see much difference to JPM.. except that It's missing finnish language. Has all of the slavic languages, though.

That means It's stuck. Should take about ~2 mins at max.
Flash eclair JG6 first, and then this one. Password is samfirmware.com

thanx all for helping ... finally got irritated ... flashed JG6 and then JPM ... working sweet ... JP2 can rot in hell ...

so, after rooting one month ago, you've never done any other testing, no firmware flashing, etc., and all of a sudden, after your battery dies, as it's prone to do, it quit working?
if this is the case, have you tried another battery, either another you may own, from someone else's phone, or even take it to a service center just to see if a different battery works?
otherwise, one of the things you flashed (or may have been flashing at the time your phone died) screwed something up. give us more details, please

[Q] [Help] Rooted but still havin yello triangl..and google play does not work

Rooted using the above thread..
After installing clock work mod , when trying to install superuser i got some error and it said installation aborted...but after rebooting i found superuser was installed..
while trying to acces market i.e Google play it is not connecting to internet whereas all other applications are connecting to internet which i connected through wifi..
Also the yellow triangle still not gone..Please help me fix guys..?..This is my first post in xda..hope experts are there to help
Sorry guys fixed google play..It was problem with the date..
Now please anyone say how to remove the yellow triangle at start?...
And also i want to know whether superuser is installed perfectly because during the installation it aborted saying an error
Dude do your homework, there are already few threads about removing yellow triangle. You must flash VIA ODIN a stock kernel, or reflash (VIA ODIN) your fw. And then root your phone according to the guide above.
There are also two threads about erasing the download counter, I assume you're gonna be interested in that too.
Error with flashing su.zip means nothing if you find your device rooted anyway. None knows why it is like that.

Grr this is with warranty
Now what should i do..
I tried to restore and nothing happened after again booting
same place stuck..
waiting for your reply
Yellow triangle is just an additional information that you have flashed an insecure kernel, it's not a problem.
Have you tried to reflash your FW/stock kernel via Odin? that MUST remove your triangle, and that's always does it. Reflashing FW is not equal with factory reset.
Can you please provide me the link for the stock rom...because the link in xda stock rom thread is not working/?
what fw do you use?
Here you have all available firmwares (registrations is needed):
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9103&r=-1#modelsa
Password is: sammobile.com i guess
I9103XWKI5 (2.3.5)
i guess this one...but i am not sure..is it possible to check now..?
Can you please provide your gmail id to my pm so that i can chat directly till i get my mobile to my original state..As am a new user i am not able to post continously after every poost..
And can i restore all the contents from cwm which i backed up after flashing?
U check it this way:
on your dialpad press: *#1234#
Your PDA is your FW.
Here is the link to I9103XWKI5 (INU): http://hotfile.com/dl/138280077/f8390cd/GT-I9103_INU_I9103XWKI5_I9103ODDKH4_I9103DDKH4.rar.html

I am sorry but this is everything I can do for you now. I've got some work to do here.
But how doi chk the fw now since it is stuck at boot..Anyways i guess it must be this because i am from india everythin matches which i saif
a sorry I guess I misunderstood you are you able to enter the download mode?
yes i am able to enter the download mode...Now let me...
I am currently downloading the fw from sam mobile and the file size is 336 mb and the one you gave is 301mb..what is the difference? both are for I9103XWKI5?
I guess no difference. Probably just a compression. Anyway, download, extract rar and flash the .tar or .tar.md5 via odin, according to a guide.
Okay after flashing can i restore the backed up contents?..wil i get back the original state with apps and all data??
if you did a backup, then yes

No more network with every usim

Hello guys!
I got a Samsung GT-I5800 for few months but seems I have a big problem from some days actually.
I was using it when I suddenly lost the network coverage. Reboot, factory recovery, tried other carrier usims however it did not start to work again.
It doesn't work nor with automatic and manual network choice nor with enabled and disabled packed data whereas, if I try to send a message or make a call, an error popup appears saying "Data network not available".
I have never performed a root flash or something else so it is always been original factory.
here some info:
Firmware version 2.2
Baseband versions I5800XXJP4
Kernel version 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
Build number FROYO.XWJPI
I'm very glad if someone can help me to solve this awful problem given that the device is unusable
Try to add APN(search in the Internet for it) to your phone(Wireless and Network>Mobile networks>APN)
I already know what it is and it is configured (for my Internet plan)...
the real problem is that it cannot take the network signal anymore...there is a blue symbol like a circle with a line instead of normal signal bars

Check your IMEI by *#06#. If it is all zeros then it is corrupted. If it's old one then it is fine
You can try disabling then enabling flight mode. Wiping data or dalvik cache. Good Luck!
PS: Backup your efs folder to PC using Root exlorer. It contains IMEI and must NOT be deleted. Just for safety advice!

anyway the imei was one of the first checks, it's the correct and old one.
what do you mean with wipe data and dalvik cache? isn't it the same of a factory restore? (factory restored lots of time but nothing happens)
Did you tried zerofill? You can easily find by searching this forum.
Also have you tried putting the SIM in other mobiles? Do they work?
BTW, I know that feel bro. I know the feel to live without calling/sms for few days

I had a search about zerofill. is it useful to delete everything, right? I didn't get how flash it and re-flash the original firmware...by kies?
You'll need ODIN for that to flash the ROM. [Make sure you read instructions]
It will wipe all phone data so take backup from Titanium backup first.

last 2 questions
so, zerofill to erase EVERYthing and the I have to download my original ROM to flash it?
the zerofill tar contains 3 files .rfs: cache, datafs and factoryfs. Do i have to flash these by odin? sorry guy but i don't find any tutorial about odin and zerofill
It looks you have never flashed a ROM in ODIN. In that case I would say forget zerofill and just flash a firmware you want. Because you'll need to flash a ROM after flashing zerofill too. I recommend Custom ROM as it is fast and more features, it will void your warranty though. But you can always flash stock ROM to get your warranty back.
If you want to go Stock, then you can find stock ROM at samfirmware.com. Download anyone from there. Post here when you finish downloading. I'll post the instructions.

HELP! Brick Bug!

So long story short, my tab was running stock ICS (rooted, with temp CWM/cwm.zip). I decided to try a new rom (paranoid android) so I backed up everything via CWM and I flashed the new rom. But I forgot to do a factory reset before doing so which resulted in a bootloop. I returned to CWM to try to restore the previous ROM, all seemed to be fine and the tab restarted but was also bootlooped. Now I can't even access the stock recovery to acess CWM, I get an error message:
# MANUAL MODE #
-- Appling Multi-CSC...
Applied the CSC code : THL
Successfully applied multi-CSC
E :failed to mount / system (invalid argument) <in red.
Is there anything I can do to return to my stock ROM?!

Applied the CSC code : THL

Is there anything I can do to return to my stock ROM?!

Can it get into download mode? If so try flash a stock rom with odin. Im not a sgt user but i am a samsung phone user and usualy when i forget to wipe all i have to do is go back into recovery. Then wipe everything and flash the same rom. NEVER go straight to a backup unless you pass setup. Then it can create a link almost so it supports going back. Or so thats what ive been told by devs on other forums...sounds kinda wierd tho but anyway if you forget to do something while flashing roms then go back indo recovery and do it again

I forgot about download mode. I'll have a go then I'll report back.
Thanks
Now I'm stuck at the "<ID:0/005> factoryfs.img" stage!
I'm a bit scared of unplugging the tab, what would be the best thing to do now?
EDIT: If I flash a kernel or CWM, would this solve my problem?
Thanks in advance
EDIT:I managed to get CWM working, a step in the right direction

From CWM wipe data, cache & dalvik & reboot.
And flash this ICS zip file from CWM. if yours is 6800.

I did everything you said, but the progress bar has been stuck at 75% for over an hour, this has happened with all the ROMs I've tried to install. Is there anything else I could do? I red somewhere that a low battery doesn't allow ROMs to be installed properly.
Although I have no idea of my battery life, I'm just gonna leave it to charge for a bit. I hope everything turns out fine eventually

Battery life has nothing to do with it. People just say make sure you have high battery incase something happens. I think that it might be a very expensive brick now. Unless anyone else knows then i habe no idea

I was reading the following articles:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/samsung-diligently-working-towards-hardbrick-fix/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810954
Could this Brick Bug be the source of my problems?
I was running a leaked version of ICS AND I have been using the cwm.zip so there is the possibility
Being unable to flash through either Odin or CWM surely sounds a lot like the brickbug.
If I were you, I'd reboot to download mode, and install a full ROM with repartition + PIT file. If it works, install locerra's CWM (it's one of the few recoveries for our tablet that's confirmed to be brickbug-free), and work as usual. But remember to wipe everything before installing anything through CWM...
If Odin doesn't work, you probably have been hit by the brickbug. However, all is not lost: this guy seems to have found a "fix" for many devices. It involves giving up on all your data and making your onboard storage a couple of GB smaller than it used to be, but it can make your device work again. Read the thread, try to understand it, and (if you can't find another way out) use the PIT file for the GT-6800 provided. If your tab isn't the international WiFi+3G GT-P6800, you may have to ask the guy (hg42) for a PIT tailored to your device.
The other option, in the case of a eMMC-related brick, is to remove all traces of CWM, go to a Samsung store and repair it under warranty, saying "its broke down when I were running that backie upppe thing in kies".
The other option is the better one, as i bricked my note. When i am able to revive it, i am left with 8GB space and it seems real laggy. Change a new motherboard would be better if still cover undr warrantly.

Thanks for the replies guy.
I have decided I will return it as faulty, in the hope it is repaired. I haven't been able to boot into CWM anymore, only the download mode, so I am guessing it is fine to return it as it is?
Thanks

If I were you, I'd return it to something as close to stock as possible.
One suggestion: grab the latest Odin-flashable ROM for your country. You'll get a .tar.md5 file, such as P6800UBLA2_P6800ZTOLA2_ZTO.tar.md5. Try to flash it through Odin, just to see if it works; if it doesn't, write down the name of the .img file that gave you problems. If it works, congratulations, you have your tablet back, and you can stop reading.
Now, Rename that file to .tar (or, remove the .md5 extension), and open it in WinRAR/7zip/whatever. You'll see a lot of .img files inside, including the one that gave you problems. Remove it, and try to flash this new .tar file. If the flash works, proceed to the next paragraph. If it doesn't, write down the name of the .img file that gave you problems, and repeat this paragraph using your new .tar file.
After a flash that works, your device should be as close to stock as possible. Maybe it will even boot, but I wouldn't count on it (try anyway). I'd send it to the repair centre only when it is at this stage.

The tab gets stuck at 'factoryfs.img'. I'm a bit cautious since it is the biggest file in the .tar. Isn't the tab 'stock' stock enough as it is?:silly:

Thats...a...problem...if it takes longer then 15 mins its bricked...i have been a gt user and devs on other sites told me it was bricked. Maybe there is a solution but...i havnt found one. It should never take too long on one thing in odin.

Even so, flash the other .imgs. You want to be closest to stock, including the recovery (imagine the guys at the Samsung centre manage to enter recovery, just to see CWM: your warranty is now gone). Having all partitions on stock, or at least most of them, can only help your case.

The warrenty is not void unless they find proof of tampering with system files. So basicly yeah...everything that guy said. Get it as close to stock as possible and send.

Right OK, I definately don't want my warrenty void!
So would it be ok if I flashed 'P6800OXALQ1_P6800XXLQ1_HOME.tar.md5' (minus the factoryfs.img) to my tab?
Thanks

SamMobile works (sofar one of the few where you can dll stuff from), but the firmwares i find there are not for my build. I used manual search aswell the detect device option. I get hits, i can download them but when installing/flashing they never get accepted by my phone.
Anyway, hard to find roms/kernel nowadays for such a oldshool phone.

Cyanogen(mod).com Also with an Rom installer for windows. I did it the hard way, flashing kernel with Odin (unexpected and unwanted cuss Odin froze up and stopped unexpected, after reboot i saw i had another recovery mode on my phone) to CWM and ran an unofficial Cyanogen mod with CWM through the Recovery mode of my phone (update.zip, anyway, with the CWM recovery mode you can select any file anywhere on your SD-card when that kernel is installed, no need to rename files to 'update.zip' anymore)
As a complete noob, it took me a whole night (just a single night) to find all this out on my own, so if i can, everybody can !!!! ;-p

In the recovery menu it loads the package, opens the package and then i get 2 kind of errors saying "bad package" or "wrong package".
Not so sure what exactly it sais cuss did that a few days ago in the middle of the night (doing this a couple of nights now and have a big lack of sleep now) and with cwm recovery i can choose whatever file i want to use as update.zip (even with the original filename) so i putted alot of files on my sd-card and ran them all to hope one of them worked. So i got alot of errors to see till i finally got the CyanogenMod7 update file running and doing his job. Dont think im going for an Stock Rom anymore on that phone so i dont bother anymore trying with that.

You cannot flash official Samsung firmwares with a recovery. You have to use Odin. Follow this guide:
