[Q] Help rebild kernel from liquid mini to highscreen cosmo - General Questions and Answers

Help me please. Tell me how rebuild kernel from acer to my phone, phones are almost the same. i have kernel from my phone, kernel from acer i think not difficult to download, but the question is what next. Thanks in advance.

you won't find many people willing to help. It is just not worth the work. Why do you want it anyway?

it worth, many people who buy this phone want it, at first i want to learn how to do this, second i want 800 mhz, and android 2.3
p.s. i dont have money to buy other device, so i want to overlock my device for maximum

I will download the file and look into making it run on your phone. Dont know if it is possible yet. Just give me link to kernel download. I will look at it and see.
Hit that thank button if I helped!

[SHOCKED] Even i9001 has already build their cyanogenmod! Where is the i9003 one?

Any one has witness this? Mr. Netchip from i9001 forum has already build their cyanogenmod test build today! Where is i9003 one?
(I am not blaming anyone, I would make my very effort in helping any of us who would like to make our phone better, our phone must gain the thing that other have also!)
Things we ought to do to make our phone better:
Cyanogenmod 7 (Can wait until the Final release come up)
MIUI (Somehow we are requesting, but still waiting...)
TV-out (Researching is in progress, but we have to get a more update source for doing it. Gaining other developers support is also very important. May be some developer from Motorola Milestone or LG optimus black can help.)
A complete stable enough kernel, can be overclocked to 1.2 Ghz or more and with some more features. (I believe our phone has enough top-level developer to do this. But the most important things is we must wait for a better and updated stock kernel. I think Samsung will release its forth stable GingerBread ROM in the upcoming days. Probably an Asia ROM.)
I fell confident to our phone because our phone has a potential to be better. We have to gain more support from some other place. I suggest we can co-operate with developers from LG optimus black, they have their oc kernel too. But stable. We have many similarities, both have a chipset TI OMAP 3630, same display resolution, both have open source kernel, also waiting for porting cyanogenmod, miui etc.
Well, talked so much about LG optimus black. At last I hope everyone in i9003 can help together to fight for a better future for our phone...
---------- Post added at 06:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:55 PM ----------
Also, one more thing we should fight for:
Tell everybody in the world, i9003 is different from i9000! We should have a different forum!!!

the i9001 build doesnt work!!
and fyi, they dont even have cwm!!!
Right! i9001 has CM7? I think we need to take a giant leap and port cm7! Let's see what happens! Ther reason why our phon eis not populare is because many people are going for a S or S2 with a cost of only some extra bucks! Our phone is only populare in Asia-Pacific region! We also need experienced Developers! Each and every i9003 XDA user is learning developement! (Which is a very very very good thing!) And , hence, we can soon make our phone better!
Cm7 for i9003!
All developers unite! !!!
A call to arms! !

we would build an developers group with i9003 1st, to start...
and i hope others who have much income can do have a donation for this group so that they can buy a beer..
I have an idea. I will be downloading cm7 for i9000. I can see the structure of the file and I can try porting it! I would suggest everybody to download a CWM flashable zip and try this thing out. Also, I will not be availabel until 26th due to some personal reasons. The first thing I begin to do in the morning of September 26th will be to work on the structure and the port. I think, I can run CM7 on a stock CWM kernal! Let's wait and watch! Just wait......And Watch! ;-;
That sounds great!
@ rohan
rohan i really appreciate ur efforts. But galaxy s has complete different file structure & modified kernal than galaxy sl.
I said again & again & still saying that plz dont discuss by creating threads only. Instead of this plz contact cynogen mod developers & convince them to work for us. I really observed one thing that many people on our forum just want thing without any effort. By just writing here that we want CM7 not a single developer will look into ur thread even. If we approach other super developer and literally beg them to help us then @ least they will start to think upon our request. It may be successful or not but at least outer world will come to know the potential & spirit we all people have for our phone.

The dev who's working on the cm7 thing for the i9001 , 'netchip', does NOT own the phone and He's currently got a kernel for sgs2 (which he uses) too..
So i think we should ask him to help us with porting the cyanogen mod to our phone.. What say ??

please, somebody with GB, can you tell me if we have the following files in the filesystem:
/system/vendor/* (for example /system/vendor/bin/gpsd, /system/vendor/etc/gps.xml, /system/vendor/lib/hw/gps.aries.so)
/system/lib/libsamsungcamera.so
/radio/modem.bin
I asked it here but nobody answer it...

Galaxy Ace got cm7
i9003 deserves cm7
even my old samsung galaxy i5700 got cm7 :/
I tried attempting in doing what I can to get CM7 looked into, problem lies in, Even if we get 90% into completing it, Without a hacked/broken down kernel, there's no way we can enjoy the benefits.
I have seen 2 GT-I9003 installed in http://stats.cyanogenmod.com/.
I think someone trying to do.

[Q] How to check custom ROM compatibility?

How can I check if a custom ROM is compatible with my phone?
Is it only compatible on a certain phone?
I have a Cherry Mobile Burst, And sadly I can't find a custom ROM for my unit. So I'm asking if there are other custom ROM that I can use??
Thanks!!! :crying:
The only real way is to make sure it specifically states that it IS for your device. If you cannot find one for your device, then you can try to develop one. Even the identical chipset will have different hardware that make the ROMs incompatible.
If it does not say "This ROM is for XXX device" then don't flash it, that's my advice.

I doubt it because there is a lot of work that goes into developing a ROM, like hours and hours, so usually phones that not many people have don't really get it, because why develop for a phone that 20 people own when you can develop for one that thousands or millions of people own.
Keep looking, there may a custom ROM out there, does your phone go by another name? Like an actual model number?

There are no developers that own that device, if they did then there would be ROMs for it.
There is no point in asking or waiting for developers to make ROMs for this device because it will never happen.
You've got a low end device that no one is interested in developing for, you'll have to learn to do it yourself if you want ROMs, that's the only way you'll get ROMS for this device.

[KERNEL][4.0.4] Help a noob build a kernel!

Hello everyone! As the title suggests I'm a noob who wants to build a kernel. The device has virtually no support and to be honest, very underpowered. I want to overclock the device, but there are no overclockable kernels out there for this device.
The device in question is an: ACTScom A930.
I posted a question asking for help on overclocking. The post should have more info on the device itself:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/overclocking-stock-rom-kernel-t2922777
As stated in the topic above, I want to overclock it to run at around 1.10-1.25 Ghz instead of the stock 960 Mhz. However, I don't want the device to overheat, so I'm going to run the CPU at around 200-300 Mhz when the screen is idle.
As I said in the beginning, I'm a complete noob at building kernels. Sure, I've done some basic modding, but never have I tried to development my own mods. I fully understand the risks at hand, however the device is so slow, it's come to a point where I so rarely use it, I'm going to be willing to experiment.
For the past week or so, I've been doing some research. I've read these topics on building and overclocking Kernels:
1. http://xda-university.com/as-a-developer/adding-features-to-your-kernel
2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1748297
I've gotten a basic grasp of how overclocking works, but I'll need your help to actually be able to successfully build it. I'll be going step by step, asking for help where I need it. The post below this will be updated by my questions that hopefully you guys can answer. All you help is appreciated!
11/3/2014
Basic Setup
The device has no support and there is no Kernel source listed anywhere for this device. The closest thing I could find was a ICS tools and Linux Kernels by the CPU Manufacturer (telechips).
https://www.telechips.com/technical_support/kor/opensource/opensource_list.asp
Will this work as a source, or do I need to find another kernel source for my device?

J5 prime custom kernel

Hello, im wondering to know if there's any Kernel Developer who can help me with my phone.
Due my job i need to use some external wifi adapters, wich the model is compatible with my phone, according the kernel documentation.
I know how to cross compile Kernels but i dont know much about C programing language. So there are some threads that are developing some custom roms and kernels for my model, but none of the devs wants to help me for whatever reason.
I also as before offered a donation to whoever help me with this i will keep offering. I hope i can get someone soon to help me.
My phone is a J5 PRIME (SM-G570M) android 7 stock non rooted.
I know i have to root and maybe to use a custom rom to make it work but first i would like to get help with my problem.
Whoever interested my phone is +5521990337574 im available 24h, so we xan discuss about how much you want me to donate for the project.
Thank you in advance.
