[Q] Cover\Battery physical issues - HTC Sensation

Hello,
I have an HTC Sensation z710e for like a month already and I'm very happy with it so far. Recently, the phone slipped from my hands a few times and the top part of the cover with the camera hole broke. I glued it back and its not that bad, only that now each time when I type with harder than tap force on the right side on the phone, it will sink a bit into the case with a annoying click and come back (not visible). Is this fixable or should I leave it?
P.S. if i take the phone out and push on the battery (same side) it will move a bit inward towards the phone's screen. Nothing looks broken at all except the little crack that is there because the top part doesn't stick perfectly back.
Thank you!

How's your sliding mech. holding up?

It seems that lately, when the phone slide is closed, I am able to separate the phone from itself by about 1mm to 1 1/2 mm...seems as if the sliding mech. is losing its hold on the phone (even by a bit)...
when I use the screen to type, I hear it clicking/taping against itself--
anyone else having this situation arise?
Slowly evolving into a tilt here...
Same here, it sucks. I will probably sell it before it is too much and then buy a Touch Pro 2. But Mine is loose on the side where there is no slide (left), it is still strong on the right side.
Mine's still good and pretty snug. I baby it tho. Still wondering for that first drop. I hate dropping my babies. Lol.
yea, mine is doing great,
Ive dropped it a couple of times, yet it still seems as strong as it was when i got it. I also have a snug fitting plastic cover on mine, so that helps it even more.
Service Manual for the HTC Touch Pro/Raphael
Mine got a bit funny too - after it came back from HTC service center for screen replacement. However, I'm planning on dissmanteling my Raph and check for loosen screws.
If you guys wanna give it a try too, I'm attaching a link for official Service Manual for the HTC Touch Pro/Raphael - it's a hardcore, step-by-step how to dissmantle Raphael down to the smallest pieces ....have fun!

i guess if push comes to shove I'll rip this baby apart and see if I need to tighten up some of the lose parts-IF it gets bad.
I baby my phone as well, and have only had it for 4 months.
Eh, if it's put back together, and it works, then that means these extra screws weren't that important to begin with.
First was buggy, now cool
My first fuze made a weird sound but i replaced it and I haven't heard anything from this one
I don't think screws would be the culprit. The slider is on rails isn't it? So the fix would be to bend/tighten/replace the rails?
Mine is getting a little sloppy. I hate having the volume buttons on the top screen portion too. Every time I try to press it, the phone will more apt to try to open then press the button in.
sometimes my sliding mechanism is a bit slow to catch up with the body i.e it can slide out ok, but if you look at the back of the screen when the kb is open, there's a small rectangle i guess where the ?cables go. sometimes mine stays there for a few seconds, then goes down. if this makes sense to people.

How to remove your flash cover

I have heard a number of people complaining about how hard it is to get tghe covers off the back side of our beloved Inspire 4Gs. Quite often damage ensues, right? The cover tabs get broken and then it sips off all too easily. Or maybe it split into two pieces.
This may not work for everyone, but it did for me.
1. Flip the phone face down
2. Lightly grip the SIDES of the end cap
3. Gently pull off
not so fast my friend
Sorry, I know you're trying to be helpful, but this is the exact way that I snapped my SD Card / SIM cover in half the second day I had the phone. Putting pressure on the sides while you pull it off can easily snap it once it slides off. The best method is to put the device face down and put downward pressure on the cover while you slide it off. It may take longer, but it won't snap it.
Yeah don't push on the sides. After a few removals, I found it got a lot easier to get off anyways.
Agree with the two above me. I was pressing on the sides to take it off and after a few tunes it got really loose. It would shift a little whenever I touched it much. I brought it in to a store and they swapped it out for me. Now I push down gently while sliding it out and have had no issues since.

Are people using only their thumb and finger to remove this?
It's much easier if you grip the entire cover with the top half of your hand and pull down.
This method creates more force without applying too much inward pressure on the sides of the cover.

Side note, but I love your signature.. I went from an Iphone original, to a TP2, and in a week, I will have the Inspire.

[Q] Loose Battery Cover?

My battery cover is a little loose all of a sudden. at the bottom it now moves a little. When I squeeze (lightly, normal use amount) the phone at the bottom kinda clicks. Anyone else have this issue?
Yes. I called HTC and they're replacing it. But for now what you can do is put paper inside the case

Yeah, several other people reported this problem on a Dutch forum. People should not open the backcover unless they really have to. After opening the cover a few times the cover is getting loose and starts to crack when you press it.
okay so I have the same problem, should I be worried or is it just the case with all sensation handsets ?
Take the cover off and press the battery. I think that's what it is...or maybe both.

I don't think that's it, the battery is fitted normally, and I've just tested it with battery removed, it does the same thing, I should mention that it isn't really that obvious, but it's an annoyance nonetheless, such an expensive phone to have a glitch like that.
can anybody confirm that it does loosen after some time of usage, I mean did it came like that out of the box or was it getting loose with time?
I just noticed this on mine this morning , will steal a new cover soon
****ttttt let me check mine lol
...same here, at the right bottom corner!!!!
...and I agree, tooooo expensive phone for such a glitch!

I went to a tmobile store to see if they'll let me switch. The rep told me thy they can't switch cuz its an htc problem. Then he got curious and pulled out his sensation to see if his had it...
He looked so sad lol I just got off the phone with htc and my replacement cover is shipping soon and if the second one is defective then I have to send in my whole phone so they can check it out. You guys should call htc I'd you already haven't
I fixed mine by adding some paper to the back.

Hey first post here! Signed up just to have my say on this issue, just as i did with the android central forum.
Also posted this on the android central forums...
Got the creaking here also, definitely a design flaw. Being obsessive with my devices i couldnt live with it!
I do not recommend putting paper in the cover to fill the gap, as this is just expanding the cover further making it even MORE loose when the paper is not in there. Also i wouldn't recommend it because the paper pushes the back cover out a little more, you may loose a connection for the ground. Which is the little metal springy thing, half way up the right hand side. Obviously its not a good idea to 'push' the cover further away from this ground spot. I have heard that people have had issues with screen responsiveness due to a static build up from not grounding properly.
What i did to fix this problem was a bit of a kitbash of sorts.
Mine was creaking on the bottom right area, like most. The problem is there is too much play between the little black catches on the battery cover and the latch on the handset. Instead of filling up the gap between the phone and the cover (Ala paper, card in the cover) I closed it!
What you need to do is get some very thin plastic film. Like that on kids toy packaging etc. Not the thicker stuff though. This stuff would be under 1mm thick. It came as a viewing window in the box my new wallet came in. So you can sorta imagine what im talking about.
I cut a piece about 10mm long and as wide as one of the two little black catches. I applied a VERY thin coat of super glue to one end of the film. Just enough to cover the area under the catch. Then i carefully placed the film with the superglue on it under the catch, and then quickly applied some pressure to it with some tweezers. Then i carefully cut the excess off with a pair of finely tipped nail scissors.
The result is that it now PULLS the screen/phone INTO the cover more by making the little black catch thicker. Not the opposite (paper method), which pushes the cover out, creating a further problem of adding more paper under the cover over time as the cover expands/loosens to compensate. Not to mention a possible grounding loss and resulting damage.
Hope this helps some people that have had multiple replacements or could not be bothered replacing for such a cosmetic issue. (Like me). It definitely works, just got to get your surgeon on and be accurate with your placement of the film.
Apply this to what ever side creaks the most, and bam its gone. Nice. Solid phone... again.
If anyone wants more specific details etc, im all ears.
Regards,
Matt.
MrSoulSOng A video explaining this fix would be appreciated ^_^ cuz I didnt buy my phone from here and I still gotta wait for about a month to send it to the shop to fix or get a replacement
...just an update...after buying new back cover from no1tech (that was month and a half ago...) there's no loose spots, no creacking...!
Very satisfied now I am. Finally phone feels and looks like it should be - beast in compact housing!
I have the very same problem too. VERY annoying
well I had the same problem however what i did was that on the back cover inside of it I put some black electric tape on to the sides that creak (next to the sides and the clips) and when I put the cover back on there was no creaking at all. figured it wont interfere with the single because people put cases on the back all the time plus its electric tape meaning it'll prevent from short circuits and I don't think there should be any overheating issue as its a very small quantity.

htc sensation back casing defect

Does anyone have this slight problem? When pressing down at the bottom of the phone near the search symbol you hear a cracking sound? It looks like there is loose space.. hard to explain but it is annoying me, good enough reason to go back tmobile store and get a new replacement?
i have slight movement in that corner, makes a creek slightly but not a crack.
I also have this on my current phone. Mine is bad and with a couple of other issue I have a replacement coming today. My worry is the problem is with the back cover and if they send the warranty replacement without the back cover it will not fix the issue.
However if I get a perfect device and this is the only issue I might try to put something in the case to fill or tighten up this area and I can live with that.
I have similar issue. I just don't feel it solid.
If I push at any side of the phone, I will hear the light cracking sound.
I put some tape on the cover. No more creaking
pictures?
I get annoyed when I press the touch button, I hear the creaking noise.
damn.

The creaking on my Sensation is more towards the middle-right. Really annoying.
Got my thoughts and results on the issue here:
http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/HTC-Sensation/The-creak/td-p/815521
wow another problem i dont have
I didn't at the start to be honest, just one day when I went to the local Voda store to get a new sim and I started feeling it, either way gone with the new back, or gone with the old back and lots of sticky labels.
Will be nice to have a scratch free back up down the line I guess.
there's a thread about that here somewhere. my first one had it, my current one doesn't
I had a cracking sound near the corner. However, I removed the cover and put it back on and it's dead silent. There is still some movement possible but no sound anymore. The phone I currently have is quite good only there is a scratch on the back of my screen so I have to return it. I really hope I get a good phone back.

Here are the pictures. Very simple, just put several layers of tape where the creaking is.

I did the same. Fixed it
Weird thing was I never had this problem when i got the phone...
I'm just going back to the t-mobile store and exchange it for a new one.. i wonder if they would give me a new one right off the bat~
my previous unit had the same issue, and i hated it. i returend it prompltly and my current one is perfect, nice & tight.
I went to the store today, They just exchanged my back cover and its working perfectly now =)
great to know. I will ask the store to have it changed.

You could give the place where your phone has been assembled, it could help identifying possible faulty batches.
f.
I added a couple of small pieces of thin foam tape inside the case near the bottom corners. Snug as a bug, and no more creaking

[Q] Z3 Parts

Hi
I dropped my phone getting out of my car, wounded. I look at the phone hoping the screen wasn't broke, it wasn't thank god. The back class was broke but instantly thought well its a cheap fix and i am buying a durable case.
However, imagine place the phone (screen side down) then look at the bottom corner, not directly underneath but the opposite corner, this was the crumple zone. The corner casing has also bent a little bit upwards and it now has a sharp edge?
Would anyone know how i could get this part or better still name the part so i can do a better search?
thanks
