[ODIN][ROM][EP4D][FACTORY] Full factory restore 2.3.6 with radio - unrooted 12/7/11 - Verizon Droid Charge

If you need to fix your phone due to a bad restore from CWM or EXT4 File repartion problems you can use this ODIN file along with imnuts's PIT file. His instructions are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111486

Someone should have an Odin of just the radios, so i would just wait for that.

Where are these file download servers located? I can't seem to break 400 KB/s. I should be able to download at 4 MB/s.

So if I needed to flash my phone back to a stock state that could be returned to VZW for warranty reasons, this Odin would do it? Assuming it's indistinguishable from the OTA if course...

Your MD5 checksum is wrong. It should be f85354eda03de9f63fab4810df51c344. You forgot a portion of the string.

100% correct!

Another Mirror though this is for the uncompressed version.

One more question (maybe two)... As long as I disable EXT4 via the Voodoo Control app prior to the Odin flash I won't need the PIT file, right? And this Odin will get me to an absolutely 100% stock state that even God wouldn't be able to tell was Rooted previously... also correct? Sorry if this is Noobish... just can't afford to have a $600 charge slapped on my bill because it was determined I had voided my warranty.

As long as you are running something based on the stock firmware and is still in a working condition (you can boot the phone and use it), you shouldn't need the PIT file. At the moment, the PIT file is unnecessary 99% of the time, and the 1% where it is needed, your phone is likely on its last leg.

Great post. Now we need a true deox + debloat version of this
Good grabin.

Thanks! I've been waiting for this!!

Uhm, MD5 hash failing in Odin on modem only package.

[ROM] [CWM] [EC05] [EI22] Stock Heimdall Packages

Please see this new thread for up to date packages.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1584346
DISCLAIMER:
The whole point of putting out Heimdall packages is to make flashing safer, faster and easier but please use some common sense and read before you wildly click on stuff. No one listed in this OP nor myself, God, Satan or any other being (Supreme deity or not) is responsible for what you do with these files. If you brick something, you did it, so man up and own your mistakes (and hopefully learn from them).
Epic Heimdall Packages:
The title should be self explanatory. Use these with Heimdall to flash your Epic back to stock or to flash CWM recovery. Do NOT re-partition unless you have an absolute good reason to (Like coming back from MTD and you know EXACTLY what you are doing). 99% of the time you will NOT need to re-partition.
Thanks to:
Nubecoder for putting these packages together
Drockstar and Rodderik for putting the purple CWM 3.1.0.1 together
Rodderik for hosting the devphone.org (Primary site and file mirror)
All I did was xfer some files and host the unlimited download server (files.devphone.org).

Big thanks to insanity213 for hosting the files for me (would cause too much BW on my server).
Now everyone can stop using Odin!!!
NOTE:: The EI22 package does not include the ei22 modem.
Also, there are no bootloaders in these packages, so I do not think you should ever re-partition with these.

(ODIN sucks)
I never could get heimdal to recognize the epic when plugged into my imac although I haven't tried with lion. Supposedly this there was a secondary boot loader bug that got fixed on most galaxy s variants with froyo but we epic owners never got it. Works great on my PC though.

The bootloaders are not contained in these packages.
I doubt your bootloaders have been changed though, to my understanding they haven't changed in a while (or ever).
The only other thing would be the modem...
I need to add the EC05 modem to the EI22 package, so it is a nice and easy to flash the delta update zip in cwm to get updated.

And yes you would want to keep the EI22 modem (since you already have it).

Thank you for this. I finally got around to un-rooting / returning my wife's phone to stock. Now I can take it into the Sprint store. This should be the default method to return rooted phone to stock in the wiki, as it is quite easy if you follow the Heimdall instructions.
Can this be used to go back to BML from MTD instead of Odin? I'm guessing not since we can't repartition but wanted to make sure.

[Q] Help upgrading to GB

For some reason, me and this phone are not getting along recently. I've been trying to upgrade the ROM to the latest GB, but no matter what I'm doing its not right. I read a few things on here and other forums, but I'm really f-ing something up.
Can someone please help me out with this, I wanted to go to the latest ROM to include 2.3.x
Here are my stats now: GummyCharge 2.0, VooDoo_0807 and Firmware version says 2.2.1. Kernel 2.6.32.9
Thanks in advance.

What I tried to do last was the all in one update but I think im missing something between the one I have now and the one prior that is causing the issue.
Here is EP4D factory.

or you could always go to factory EE4 and take update.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380430
flash that in ODIN and let it fully boot, then reboot into recovery and flash your desired EP4P ROM.
simple as that :]
If you have Voodoo active (have EXT4 partitions), then flash something with ODIN from the links that Blue provided, and make sure to use the PIT file as well. Using the PIT file will make sure your partitions are back to the correct stock settings.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

You install that using odin. Its a windows program. Download Odin. Download the file from the link you have. Download the pit file. Download droid charge drivers for windows.
Click the install instruction in my signature for a more detailed set. Thank chadness for it. It is a dated but once you learn it you will know what to change to use the updated stuff. Reading this post should answer a bunch of questions you will have after reading my abbreviated instructions.
Install drivers
Run odin
Put phone in download mode.
Connect phone via the usb cable it came with to the computer. USE a back usb port that's directly connected to the mother board. Odin display will change, text reading "com:something: with yellow background.
click the PIT button and navigate to that PIT file you downloaded.
click the PDA button and navigate to the ODIN EP4D stock rom you downloaded.
click Start, wait for it to finish.
let it reboot. You are now full stock/factory set.

[Q] In need of assistance with ICS -> GB

I have searched but found no specific instructions on how to do this, other than use Odin and the firmware file from SamMobile.com. I have downloaded both of these but now I don't know what to do. I would greatly appreciate it if someone would give me the rest of the instructions. Thanks in advance.

simply use the sammobile .tar instead of the k0nane listed in the thread.
Also...fyi: I just did this the other day...if you get lots of "force close" go to "settings"..."privacy"..."factory data rest"
that should get you back to stock...2.3.5
if you want to get back to 2.3.6, you can perform "software update" for OTA from ATT.
I was having lots of connectivity issues with ICS leaks, so I went back to GB too.
Thanks for the quick reply! Giving it a try now

The only issue with using the nandroid backup to go from ICS --> GB would be that the modem is not included in the backup, and therefore would not be restored. I'm not sure the ICS modems will work once the GB nandroid backup is restored.
If anyone can confirm or deny the above, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
If your concern is the bug reported in the ICS leaks then a full restore to GB would be what you want to do.
Use the Sammobile tar.
This thread (as previously pointed out) has the instructions for flashing the tar. You should read it completely.
This post in the thread explains that you have to extract the files from the zip you DL from Sammobile and then flash the file ending in .md5 with Odin. Partial quote:

Could you just use a nandroid backup to go back to GB? I'm thinking of going back to GB. The keyboard lag with Swype annoys me too much on ICS. . . .

Using a nandroid BU does not install all of the original files. As pointed out one thing not replaced by the nandroid is the radio. To get back completely to stock using the Sammobile tar and Odin appears to be the best way.

If your concern is the bug reported in the ICS leaks then a full restore to GB would be what you want to do.

Sammobile tar and Odin is what I did. Then flashed cwm touch and rooted. No problems at all. Restored apps and data with TB back to normal in 1 hour....
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
Awesome! Glad to hear that!

Odin back to stock after rooting with OTA

How can I use Odin to go back to factory stock? I received the OTA for 4.1 JB and then rooted but now need to go back to stock. What is the safest way to do this? Can I just flash the latest build in Odin

Use the proper PIT file w/ Odin.
16GB SIII- http://invisiblek.chickenkiller.com/pits/sch-i535-16gb.pit
32GB SIII- http://invisiblek.chickenkiller.com/pits/sch-i535-32gb.pit
Then use this image where it says, "PDA."
http://goo.im/devs/invisiblek/i535/...535VZWALG1_743127_REV09_user_low_ship.tar.zip
This will bring you back to stock ICS with a locked bootloader, then check for updates under settings.

DON'T DO THIS!
Follow section 5 of the guide linked below. There is no need for the pit files and that isn't the latest stock ROM, but I'm confused if you took the ota your sick already.

So use ODIN twice. Once with .pit and the second with the.tar

No use them together, the PIT goes where it says PIT and the image goes where it says PDA. I dont know why the dude above is tripping, relax.

I'm helping him out you're giving him out dated firmware and unnecessary flashing that just leaves more chance for error. To restore to stock is a simple one file flash there is no need for pit or using old stuff and taking the ota again. But OP do whatever you want

Not sure what you're saying. Everybody else is running BLK3 JB, but like I said y'all do what you want. I'm a fan of as little steps as possible to eliminate errors and everybody I've helped un brick their phone have followed that guide I just linked with zero problems. Actually you're the first person I've seen recommend the pit except in my old droid charge.

If you are trying to stay stock then use this Jelly Bean image like the person above mentioned. I found it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2035321
If you are going to ROOT again then use what I told you above (its ICS.) Then use this software to root your device. (Dont take the JB OTA.) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792342
Rooting ICS is quicker then JB. Lol.

ICS is easier to root for sure!
To the op If you just want to un root and that's all you did was root then go into the super su app and under settings there is a full unroot option.
By the way still don't need the pit that link I posted had the latest ICS build as well.
Hey Supra that link you gave is correct, but I would recommend using droid styles n the future because it gives steps. So when helping new people they will have full proof step by step instructions. By the way I really how you actually own a Supra... That's one had ride!

Sorry guy, didnt know there was a JB Odin image at first. I always use a PIT when reverting back to stock, look at the link you posted.

"Pit file - This is a type of file used with Odin when returning your phone to stock. There is a "Pit" button on Odin you can push to enter the pit file you wish to use. An example of a pit file that you will probably use is Atlas_v2.2.pit. To return to stock, you would use a pit file along with a stock ROM, putting both into Odin at the same time. Droidstyle's guide provides detailed instructions."
Lol, I dont own a Supra but I'm a huge fan and known a couple people with built ones pushing over 1000HP. Its just WAY to expensive. I'd rather buy the 2JZGTE engine and drop it into another car. Supra power .
