Considering this is meant to be an easy-to-follow and 'noob friendly' thread, how would you suggest I put more emphasis on the rooting side of things? I'm open to the idea, but I feel the end result deserves more attention than the process.

Edit: Thread stickied.
Please remove.

I never doubted that, all I'm saying is, there is no need for Rom recommendations. I am all for a easy to use guide, but why target a few specific Roms, based on personal recommendations? This idea surely would be better as a Root and flashing guide for "Noobs", only? Just feel you're opening a can of worms and will get bombarded with rom questions also.

That's a possibility. It's what I've been asked to do, I'm not one to argue. Thanks for the feedback!

Stay tuned. Less drama. More meat.

what makes you thin that android revolution and so on are the best ?did you try rcmix3D roms ? did you flash virtuous roms ? with my due respect best rom is subjectif so , please either post all our favourite roms or dont do it at all

My method has worked for quite some time now, and is a pretty decent alternate where other one click type methods dont work.
and still works, on newer builds other than the ones mentioned. GL

JSL - With attn1 removing his hack kit and support - would you be willing to open a thread on the Inspire forum linking to your kit? I know there are a bunch of users there that would love to see it.

Seeing as how Sam's thread is stickied, The link to it is best here.
I made my 'method' for users of Driphter.com as I am a staff member there.
Its available to anyone and everyone though without membership or signing up.
Its been around for quite a long time and I dont plan on removing it any time (nor does the site owner) (and once in a while will get updated if need be)
So it can just remain a Link in the sticky
And if someone cant get a working gold card... the 'line of code' mentioned in cyan within the faq, is around on the 5th page (if I remember correctly).

Cool cool - sounds like you don't mind if we link to your thread on Driphter then? I just don't want to step on anyone's toes...obviously that was done to a point that can't be recovered from once already...
A lot of Inspire owners never venture to the DHD forum..

I noticed that... the only thing different between the two devices is the audio codec and the housing saying "AT&T" rather than "HTC" and maybe the digitizer manufacturer (depends on when the device was manufactured)
I put together my little method because none of the way's for regular dhd's (PD9810000's) were working on my 'telus' based DHD (PD9814000) - unbranded Inspire 4g - basically, non 'at&t' branded DHD that uses 850/1900mhz bands. So it should work fine for Inspire users (PD9812000).
If it was ment to be for Dcom users only, it would be for vip members only. But then that would have defeated the purpose of open source.
The scrips are simple, and easily modified it need be. There's no reason in my eyes to make things complicated. Everything is cookie cutter.

The BIG ****ing monkey wrench in that paradigm is that Windows PCs are rampant with all manner of (legitimate or not) programs hijacking the USB bus and wreaking havoc with anything that needs a clean pipe to the device (i.e. the hack kit with both adb and fastboot). 99.9% of all the problems we dealt/deal with on the IRC channel were/are because of this.

At that point its not the fault of the script/method being used. I simply tell the person to use another computer if their own is fubar; at that point its out of your hands, nor should they recieve help if their system is full of garbage apps/malware/trojans/multiple ****ty antivirus apps like AVG/Avast or the McAfee Free Scan or both.

Unless you plan to keep it updated, and add a few more of the standard roms like MIUI variants and Virtuous, I think a 'ROMS' section is a bad idea. It takes a lot of maintenance, and otherwise becomes misleading quickly.

Thank you for the feedback on that section. I will bring this up with the admin.

To help you with a ROM section - you could keep an eye on my site. I keep an up-to-date ROM list for the HTC Desire HD. There are also a few ROM screenshots of a couple of ROMs, to give newcomers an idea of the visual potential differences when changing ROMs.
EDIT: (I'll also add this thread to the XDA Guides section when it's done.)

A Word About Radios & Their Dangers...

I frequently see new radios posted. Some are very benefiical & it's nice to have a choice. Sometimes you can use a radio from another device & it will have some added benefit, point in case, the polaris radios we have thanks to AllTheWay & others.
However, Not all radios are equal. Not all newer radios, or even all radios from devices with similar or exactly the same processors are compatible. One sure fire way to completely destroy your device, even beyond the powers of FrankenKaiser is to flash an incompatible Radio. Even flashing a totally incompatible rom can have this affect.
Remember, just because it is newer, does NOT mean it's better.
I have spent the last week disecting the Diamond ROM & Radio. I know there are noobies here that see something new & want it. They take for granted that newer means better & this is just not always the case.
I do NOT want to see anyone extracting & posting or flashing the Diamond Radio. You just may kill an unknowing Noobies device. If you do, there will be no saving you. Not by me, not by Jocky, Not by Pof, Olinex nor anyone else here.
JTAG will be your only possible savior, & even that I am still unsure of.
If you see any posts about new radios, Diamond, Touch, Touch Pro, stay away from them. Many of us visit other sites & someone their may not be as knowledgable as the people at XDA.
Always be careful when flashing radios. Know the source & take the time to learn what the file size of a radio for you device is. Flashing an incompatible radio WILL most likely be the end of your device.
Take it from me, I have spent hours upon hours investigating the Diamond & Touch Pro radios & from the looks of things, if you flash one, you will even wipe out OEMSBL. That means there will be NO recovery.
This week I have also seen several bricks from people thinking they could just disect & rebuil the existing Diamond ROM. Don't do it people. There are too many issues & differences to think you can easily interchange these radios & roms.
Flash Smart, Flash safe & leave the investigation of these things to the true Hero's of this community.
Excellent information on Radios!
What to do and what not to do.
Thanks mate for such a fine thread.

I agree, it's always a good idea to remind those of us who don't know what we're doing not to get in over our heads, and i'm sure saves you a lot of headaches. Thanks for all your hard work around here.

This should be a sticky!
Not sure if this info is on the WIKI but if not it must be....
Thanks for the info!
I in no way am going to discount what GSLEON3 has to say. He has put it perfectly! I just want to make some things clear in the light of our well known ROM chefs: replacing drivers and updating items within an OS (and only the OS) is fine. You will not kill firmware, boot loaders, etc. The Kaiser "Diamond" ROMs that are floating around on our Kaiser ROM development (this forum) are fine to use as these do not contain firmware, Radios, or the Diamond SPL (boot loader). Every device is different, just like a car. You wouldn't want to put diesel in a gas/petrol car would you? And that analogy works with any electronic device and not just our phones.
Another thing I would like to point out: 9 times out of 10, you will not be the first to flash a radio or ROM. I know many people who flashed to the "radio from hell" after being warned in countless threads and even by AllTheWay himself. This means they did not read the forum and threads before flashing. Also stick to guys like Laurentius26, duttythroy, _Alex_, NoThrills, Sleuth255 (just to name a few) as they have experience in what works and does not (at least so far)
So... Read up, be alert, and play safe
Dangerously is correct. The issue with the diamond rom is in flashing the WHOLE rom. Using ported drivers & updated libraries is ok. There are some however that if not done right can present issues.
I have flashed the Diamond Radio to a defective device. Currently it appears my I was correct & the only possible hope is in JTAG. I have talked a length with Jocky & will be trying to see if this can be rectified with JTAG. This however will present an issue to you if you end up flashing the entire rom, like a few already have (you should see my IM logs), or that have flashed the radio because JTAGing requires opening up the unit. There is also no garruntee that JTAG will work either. I'll have to see if I can get a bin file to load into ram & hhold there. Not going to be easy & I don't think there will be a clean & easy FrankenKaiser fix to this type of brick.
Jtagging should be quite easy.
The main problem is to find the pinouts. For the rest I've already programmed a special software to read out and flash the nand/nor
If you've already got the pinouts, let me know.
thanks for the info I'm sure some people that are new to Kaisers or even playing around with custom rom's and radios will find this useful

Sorry for such a noobs question, but how about the already used and popular Radio ROMs from Nikis, Neons, Sednas and whatnots?
Are they also dangerous, even when it doesn't show any effect to our devices yet?
The reason I ask this because I currently used the 1.58.25.17 from Neon, at least that what I heard.
Or your point is only for any newer Radio version which not yet tested? If that's the case, I could not more agree.
Cheers!

I belive he is refering to the one who is porting and as you said using "untested" radios. Radio`s you find ie. in ultimate radio tread are tested and confirmed working. This is a heads up for hackers`n dev`s
Thanks for the info

A great post sir and one I hope all will read!!
How I wish that info like this and other very important postings be placed on an XDA DEVELOPERS entrance front page which MUST be read by new and not so new members before entering the site.
Hope that makes sense.
For the above info, once again it is invaluable and priceless. I for one would only ever concider using items on my Kaiser that I knew were fully tested, checked and packed by known sparks, chefs. I learnt my lessons of "I-know-best-and-I-can-always-fix-it....opppss" during my BlueAngel days.
Besides, like many on here...I love my Kaiser too much to put her in danger of an early grave or cause any pain
Completely agreed. A warning is indeed needed.
Sticky +1

Sound advice, everyone pay attention!
what if someone was to do this (even after signing the radio as Kaiser's)?

I propose inserting this lthread's link into the Ultimate Radio with brief explanation, and also flashing for noobs' thread. I'm a noob, and have been greatly helped by reading out those stickies.
Great Warning requires prominent display
PS: Mbarvian, how's your Kaiser's revival?

Welcome to the new management aka dumber than the last one. Some of these special folks now locks the thread and cleans it so flame war ect won't continue when locked.
Makes a bit of sense. It's funny because I was starting to just get into it... I'm not sure I can wait, I might have to see what royalginger or faux's AOSP is all about. I'm addicted to flashing ROMs I think.
Now I never used evil D's rom/kernel or anything. But on serious note as another user in another thread said his rom may have radio.img in it maybe the reason it was pulled. As we all know the danger with corrupted radio.img and as the user says he didn't supply folks with md5 checksum which would give higher risk of bricking the device if corrupted. So maybe thats why it was pulled who knows only evil D and dingleberry mods knows.

Well technically yes legally HTC can make claim and have it removed. But in the past they have not done so as they actually have very open standard with Android development world. As more news hits of unlocked bootloader and opensense sdk which proves more on that matter.
Far as stolen source code goes let say from another user no one else has put any projects as evil d's contribution is known in our community. Now the new mods may not know this as they don't even own MT4G nor has they been in our sections until Option went MIA. If these new mods do lock/delete it then all of the evil D users should boycott XDA and go download from his direct site if they have it. It seems XDA is becoming very cocky atm with its 4million userbase which can drop any min if main developers pulled back from here.

lol you really don't know who I am then. I can't clearly say I support any type of moderation's let it be mod, super mod, admin as I have dealt with all of them in here. I just think they should assign new mod who at least have a clue with the device we have. Also the new mods nuked alot of my posts which actually had no flame, ect and was actually informative. If they contributed to our device in any ways I would be supportive but since they haven't I can say I share their value. Whos/Option both where our own MT4G member but the other 2 new mod's now don't even own MT4G. So they actually offer nothing to the members here.

But far as rom goes I stick to AOSP as I am not big fan of Sense based. ATM using CM7NB86 (AOSP2.3.4).
I like the customization, nice look. I was CM7 for a little bit, I loved it, was going to switch back but I got hung up on the HTC apps. I still can't find a ROM that does VM notification for 'mycarrier', it never works and bugs the crap out of me, so I use googlevoice.
I agree that mods should be experienced with the hardware/software that their respective sections of moderation use. runs smoother that way and I think overall creates synergy(I love that word). But the objectiveness of a mod that doesn't have any affiliation with the section can be useful in when stopping disputes/flame/etc. IDK the real reason why the thread was locked but it seemed like that move was jumping the gun a bit.
I also see that another developer that was pretty new and had posted 3 roms within the last week is suddenly gone now also. He had a really good stock rom for MT4G that was GingerSense but now all of his threads and posts are gone. Nowhere to be found. Can only see his roms via rom manager.

If you read a few pages back into the thread, it should be pretty obvious why the download link was removed and the thread temporarily closed. None of the issues discussed in this thread are the real reason. It should be an easy fix, so hopefully the matter is resolved soon.
Couldn't be something as simple as the missing MD5 sum could it...?

Or you could have told the OP why in single line instead of him reading few pages. Some folks like myself never used his rom's much less visited his threads but we would be still interested to know why.
it may be the fact that the thread turned into a pissing contest and everyone was arguing about stupid crap like evil updating the rom everyday. which i dont see them pulling the rom for that reason. glad i have every version downloaded already

Apologies to OP, but quick Adfree Android question: is there documentation for it somewhere? I checked out bigtincan.com and it doesn't have anything, and on the Android Market^H^H^H Google Play site there's very little by way of documentation. I think it just did its job, but it presents a lot of choices and it would be good to know what they all do.

Is there a specific reason your being so rude? Or are you feeling insecure that there is another bad ass dev coming out with fixes. or is it your just that stuck up and must have all the likes. Last I heard Android is open source and last I checked we were all supposed to help one another not point out each others down falls or pick at them. Your rude and have my word that I would never support you and your obnoxious mouth. </rant> good day sir

Do you really think that k0nane's post was rude? Really? It is just another way to accomplish the same thing. That dude gave us root. That in itself is way more than most have offered.
I thank everyone for the work they're putting in for this device, but to say that his post was rude is reaching a bit. He just gave another option, and it is a good one.

Yep and the same man helped him on his journey of getting the root. I feel the man is acting childish following him around and under minding his every turn. Same team.... I thought. But with this crap going on..... Just because he achived root doesn't give him rights to act like a snob.

But what it comes down to, is that he gave a simple answer to what was being addressed in the thread, right?
I don't care who helps who getting what in the scheme of things.
I'm a beggar and not a chooser at this point so I gotta love those that are giving to the community. Whoo devs!

badass dev? when is he coming?
anyways in all seriousness the point that k0nane was trying to make i believe was fully justified. by using nicks tweak you rely on him updating it, which from the looks of it... doesnt seem to be happening. what does android being open source have to do with helping or not helping? as far as i can see there was an alternative given thats all, no different than if i made a huge giant post about how to use alogcat and get your msl. which works fine but there is an easier way of just using getprop.
so far from what ive seen of this community is a bunch of crying on how there are no roms/kernels etc. we had one blaze owner in teh irc for teh longest time. helping with root/recovery and whenever starskyrob had a moment to test his rom. everyone claims to want cm7/cm9/aokp/ics yet i havent seen anyone except (forgive me for misspelling your name if i did) dr4stic even try to compile. if you want good things to happen to your device then you need to step forward, look into rom development, learn how to compile the kernel from source. if you cant/arent willing to put the time in then find someone who is ive mentioned all around this forum no dev is gunna give up their high end device to go buy and work on the blaze.
myself and k0nane are on sprint it just happened to be that we like to go around and help phones that dont seem like they are gunna get the big name treatment. i tweeted at my buddy mikeyinid (we worked together on the nexus s back in the day) see if he wouldnt mind helping you guys on out...

And that is 100% respected. I am not only talking Bout this post, rather all of his post that have followed one of nicks. I am glad you guys helped. But that doesn't give the right to treat others in a condescending manner. Nick has done amazing work on the vibrant and now has this phone and wad helping this man. Once the man got what he needed ( because like you stated, he nor you have the device) he was out. Then started treating him like this. Shabby, problem wasn't with you. I just had to step in and defend nick because he is a bad ass dev.

I personally think a lot of the problem is the average user's interpretation of T-mobile sales reps.
I mean, I knew the S2 had a very large rom community especially because it's a very popular phone. I was led to believe by T-mobile that the phone is pretty much just an S2, but with a smaller size screen.
If you compare the phone's features and specifications, you'd be a fool to not agree.
But as it turns out, as it pertains to roms, nothing could be further from the truth.
Shame on us, the average user, for not realizing the golden rules with salespeople:
1: They'll tell you what you want to hear.
2: Most of the time they don't know what they are talking about anyway.
3: Often times when you need to buy a phone, you've not exactly been planning on it, so you have to do it hastily. This was certainly true for me.
4: Custom roms are of course never able to be supported or recognized by the carriers, they pretty much pretend they don't exist, and for good reason. Most people aren't really careful enough to be doing it, even for the "simple" methods.
5: Rom maker's ability to communicate instructions is not always clear, and yes, this can have a detrimental impact to a person, especially if they are not experienced with the process. Seriously, half of the roms I've looked at for Android phones have glaring instruction errors, and even if it gets pointed out by another person, rather than update their instructions they'll just reply, "Yeah, sorry about that" The problem is, that clarification is often times on the 40th page of the thread. Sigh.
6: And this is my number one reason........
A lot more people should be getting more and more fed up with carriers who impose limitations on phones. Seriously, if it wasn't for all this carrier and manufacturer ego-wagging, the user experience would be better for both the tweaker crowd, and the stock crowd.

I appreciate the help with root and CWM but not the comments that follow all of mine. I have Saturdays to work with this device, so I am limited with time. I got to the point where I felt like baking for my wife and I ...= less drama. Ill be more than happy to post a "bootable , Functional Rom. But it will be redirected here: http://www.android-engineering.com/index.php
Sorry I can't sit here 24/7 I work 6 day's a week and spend the extra time with my 3 kids. I got to a point where I was neglecting my fam and was staying on the PC trying to keep up with 5 Rom's. Something had to give. What am I not updating? Is there a need? This will be put into my rom instead of an extra app. If something needs updating when I update a rom it will be done with each release. If it is unappreciated just delete the thread.
alright, its clear. i cant speak for k0nane but i can for myself. the hitsquad attempts to help devices get off teh ground but it doesnt seem like that is much wanted round here. so my apologies but ill go ahead and remove this forum from my daily loadup macro.
im keeping the cwm thread open and source up on my github for any future devs that wish it. i hope no hard feelings and best of luck to you all

Nice. Has this been tested?
Also I thought JIT has been present since froyo. I don't see what difference we would see if it was disabled or enabled.

Actually your project grabbed my interest, especially the JIT part. So I decided to do some research, because did not fully understood the advantages of it from the Wikipedia article linked at the OP. Then I stumbled upon the links.
Maybe if you remove the JIT part this will be a great tool since you modded the rest and added the adb part. I appreciate your time and contribution here and in no case want to accuse you in anything.

It appears you guys have not gotten the notice so I moved the sticky out to be more present.
Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE is ANYONE to come into another dev/user's thread and accuse them of kang/stealing or whatever. There is a specific protocol to follow here and it is one I feel strong about as doing so publicly just leads to nonsense bickering and never gets to the end.
If you feel someone used your stuff and you are not okay with it do the following in order:
1) PM the user in question with a POLITE & RESPECTFUL note asking them whats going on and bringing the issue up. and try to solve the dispute/issue there first.
2) If #1 does not work Report the post in question using the report feature here, citing a description of what is going on and that you tried to get contact over PM and it didn't end well or couldn't get answer.
3) PM ME or one of the other Forum Mods for this forum and explain the situation in detail citing your proof of such and then we will go from there.
4) If I dont solve your issue and you are still upset and not happy within a respectable time frame, PM me stating such and I will forward the issue along to a Sr Mod or direct you to speak to one from there.
This is the protocol for issues like this. Lets not start a flame war or complaint fest as it NEVER ends well for either party. Any Dev seen bringing issues to public threads and complaining in other dev's threads or complaining about other devs work in your own thread is NOT tolerated one bit. If you see any dev or user doing this then report it and we will handle it swiftly.

Hey there! I’m guessing you've got yourself a shiny new HTC One X/XL, and you've heard about this thing called "rooting" and how it supposedly can let you do all sorts of things that your carrier won't let you do, or something like that. You arrived here a little while ago from Google or by clicking a link in some blog, and you're now nosing around trying to figure out what you're supposed to do.
But stop! Wait! You've skipped over the most important question: Should you even be here in the first place?
This is not a trivial question. Making modifications to the software on your phone is not like getting your car painted or putting on some new rims or a spoiler. It's much more analogous to replacing the fuel injectors, or modifying the intake, or changing the valve timing. If you don't know what you're doing, there's a very real chance you can render your phone permanently inoperative.
This post is not going to explain how to root, unlock, or do anything else to your phone, because there are already several other threads in the Development section about that (and no, I'm not linking to them—way too soon for that). The purpose of this post is to help you determine whether you should do it at all, and if so, what you need to know beforehand.
We're going to start by taking a short quiz.
1. Which is the most accurate assessment of your comfort level with computers and electronics?
a. I keep the Geek Squad on speed-dial.
b. I generally know what I'm doing, but I'm careful not to get in over my head.
c. I'm the guy my friends and family come to when they have computer problems.
2. What is Linux?
a. It's, um, a computer thing.
b. It's the operating system upon which Android is based, but I had to go to Wikipedia to look that up.
c. chmod 004 linuxfordummies.docx
3. How do you feel when your computer or some other gadget isn't working the way you want it to?
a. It's a royal pain in the ass.
b. It's not the end of the world, but I can do without it.
c. It's an opportunity to learn and problem-solve.
4. Which most accurately characterizes your relationship with your smartphone?
a. Um, relationship? It's a phone—I just need it to work.
b. I like to play around with the settings and find interesting apps.
c. I'm not happy unless I've tweaked and customized it enough that I feel it's a good reflection of who I am as a person. Also, this reflection changes by the week.
5. You're in the middle of trying to solve a particularly frustrating problem with your computer when your spouse/significant other announces that s/he wants to have sex. What do you do?
a. Drop everything and seize the booty.
b. Curse your computer under your breath and head for the bedroom.
c. Reply, "Sorry, honey, can you give me ten more minutes?"
Give yourself 3 points for each "c" answer, 1 point for each "b", and subtract 3 points for each "a". Then total up your score and check the chart below:
13-15: Welcome, brother! You may proceed.
11-12: You'll probably be all right, but be careful. You may be setting yourself up for more frustration than all this is really worth.
10 or less:
Stop now, head over to Android Forums, and don't look back. Trust me, you'll be much better off in the long run.
…
Still here?
Okay. Just because you're coming in with the right attitude and background doesn't mean you aren't still going to get yourself in serious trouble. Before going any further, there are several rules you must commit to memory.
1. Do Not Make Any Changes to Your Phone Until You Have a Good Understanding of What You're Doing
You wouldn't go under the hood of your car and start rewiring things and rerouting hoses based on some vague understanding of something you read on the Internet, right? You shouldn't do the same thing to your phone.
This is the reason that “One-Click” and “All-in-One” solutions should be scrupulously avoided, no matter how attractive they may be to you at the moment.
I cannot stress this too much. Using these tools allows you to skip over important learning processes and avoid learning things you really need to know. They make it much easier for you to get into a situation you have no clue how to get out of (and we’ll come back to that below). You’re better off in the long run skipping the one-click tools and taking the time to learn how to do things manually. Basically, you pay cash now, or pay later with interest.
At a minimum, before you do anything, you should be able to explain these three concepts:
-What root access means
-What you're changing when you unlock your bootloader
-What you're replacing when you flash a custom ROM or kernel
How do you find all this out? That's the next point.
2. Become Your Own Expert
You're probably feeling pretty intimidated right now looking at all these discussions throwing around terms, abbreviations, and acronyms that make no sense to you. That's normal—in fact, it's a good sign. If you're not intimidated, you should probably leave now, because you're lacking the sense of caution that will keep you out of trouble.
You're naturally going to be drawn to people who appear to know what they're doing. Be very careful about this. Some do know what they're doing, and some only think they do. The problem is that it can be very hard to tell them apart. That's why the worst thing you can do is go into a thread and start asking, "What am I supposed to do here?" before you know enough to be able to weigh the answers you get.
You may get help from someone who knows the answer you're seeking, and you may find someone who's just a recent noob feeling flush with a little new-found expertise. Or, worst of all, you may have the bad luck to run into someone who enjoys tricking noobs into bricking their phones. These folks are thankfully rare, but they do exist.
Ultimately, you've got to do your own learning, not piggyback on someone else's. That leads to our next rule.
3. Google is Your Friend
Yeah, I know, it's a cliché. But it's a cliché because it's true.
Your experiences are not new. Your questions, almost certainly, have been answered before (and in the case of most noob questions, hundreds or thousands of times before). You should start by reading the threads here, but every time you come across a concept or term you're not familiar with, flip to another window and Google it. "How to X" and "What does X mean" are your two most powerful tools. Use them often. (If you're not proficient enough with Google to manage this, you've got no business modding your phone anyway.) Bit by bit, you'll start to feel less lost and start developing the context to understand what people are talking about.
But didn't I just say not to trust what people tell you?
Yes. However:
4. Trust the Hivemind
That rule applies individually, not collectively. In fact, gauging collective experiences is an excellent way to see what's what. When a new exploit, ROM, or mod gets posted, there is invariably a flow of responses as people try it out. Pay close attention to these discussions before you do anything.
There are almost always a few bugs and updates to anything new. That alone shouldn't deter you too much. But it's best to wait until you start seeing people posting praise, thanks, and confirmation that their phones are working well before you dip your feet in the water.
But you're still not there yet. Just because other people are having success doesn’t mean you will.
5. Don't Do Anything to Your Phone That You Don't Know How to Undo
Who are all these people rushing to act as guinea pigs? By and large (there are exceptions), these are experienced modders who know how to get themselves out of any trouble they get into. In general, if you know what you're doing, you can take your phone back to stock without too much effort. But reverting some of these changes often depends on doing things in the right order, making backups before you start, and so on.
All of us were noobs once, and most of the people here are willing to help out new users with the right attitude. But few things are more frustrating than someone who jumps on a new mod or rom, and then posts, "That didn't work, I think I’m bricked, OMG what do I do??"
You need to figure that stuff out beforehand.
Also, it's worth pointing out that everyone makes mistakes. You're going to make a mistake at some point, probably several. Proper planning and preparation will minimize the fallout when you do.
But—there is another "but" here, and it’s a big one.
6. You May Kill Your Phone
Modding your phone carries a certain risk. Phones get permanently bricked around here on a regular basis, especially when new mods and tools get released. No matter what you do, no matter what precautions you take, there is a possibility you may render your phone permanently unusable, with nothing left to do but return it and hope you can get a replacement (and hope your carrier won't realize what you did).
This risk applies to everyone. Even experienced devs have been known to brick phones because they forgot a critical step to some routine process.
If you're not comfortable taking that risk, or you can't afford to deal with the consequences, you need to leave. Period. You've been warned. You'll get sympathy (unless you did something stupid and won't own up to it), but don't expect anyone to reimburse you, least of all the dev who posted the tool you were trying to use. It won't happen, and asking will just get you a lot of derision.
Got all that? Good luck, and happy modding.
Wow that is the greatest post I've ever seen. Gave me a good laugh.
Edit: I've gotta agree with the fact that using one click solutions to root etc really doesn't help you learn because I have almost messed my phone up on a few occasions and without knowing the basics of adb I would have been a goner. There is no one click solution to fixing your problems...

It's a funny post, but r-tards can pick up a part time job rooting phones.
Id have to agree on the one click deal also, im also leary of the aroma installer and hub now also. i know its very rare for someone to have problems with them but i did and now it cost me 60 bucks to fix. just because you learn what you are doin and are comfortable with the various things you can do, sometimes things dont go right or there is spaz in the hardware and it will render you useless
