Proof? As the HD2 is out for more than half of a year now and nobody has been able to get Linux/Android working properly on HD2, it definitely seems to be imppossible.

So far i know i doesn´t work an many vidoes that shows a running Android at hd2 are fakes! So we still had to wait until touchxperience is ready!

at the moment i think they are still trying to get LINUX working on a HD2, once thats been done (there has been some break through) then they can start looking at porting Android...its gonna take a fair while yet , if (and its a big IF) its even possible.

Okay maybe i did a mistake with saying it is impossible. And when it will works in future i will test it. But at the moment its better to wait. So no offence!

saying something "is impossible" around xda is not a good idea. typical n00uewb mistake. no offence! now that the htc increadable is out.. i would say a future with android on the hd2 got alot closer

I think most people in this thread, myself included, even if they would like to see Android ported to the HD2, are tired of people asking the same question over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.

I went to tmobile at the mall and i had asked them if i could play with the hd2 before buying one, and the guy had android on his... i'll try to go back and get pics or vids of it.

htc evo has got the same mother board of htc hd2...just let's wait some porting . that's it (who really wants android, can sell his own hd2 and buy an android)

We already have a million froyo builds along with another million 2.1 builds. So much stuff that can be ripped from other phones.
Just need the damn kernel source form HTC now.

excluding different versions of the same rom i've only seen 4 (Avas droidX line appears to be branching off from his V line from what he's said) So we have 2 from Ava, hero's, and the new one complied from source.

Man, well sorry for the misunderstanding. The way the post reads makes it seem as though any android phone would worker with the release. It should have been a clue though when I did not see any posts about it. I have had my evo for about a month now and have really been enjoying learning about, thanks to you all, the guts of it.
I look forward to discovering and posting more but in the future I will refrain from posting news that does actually pertain to our discussion- even though I thought it did.

holy cow! where are all these roms? I know of like 3-4 froyo builds and maybe a dozen or so enclair builds.
Am I missing something? Some hidden treasure troth of custom rom goodness? I'm missing out on almost 2 million roms! (are there even that many evo's in circulation right now?)

Well, there was some overzealousness with the claimed number of Froyo builds (there are what, 3-4? now). Either way, the kernel is what is needed to get the cameras going. HTC needs to get a bit more consistent with their timetables for releasing their source - some phones take 4 months and some have only taken a few days. It's a pain in the ass.

is that referring to just this board? Because there are lots of other ROMs out there from different boards. On PPCGeeks there are a few ROMs that are not listed here, and also on Android Central, there are some that aren't mentioned here. And soon there will be a Cynanogen ROM bringing 2.2 to the EVO that may not be listed here as well, so there are some other things out there if you look for them.

Call it my natural penchant for pessimism, but I have a feeling that they are waiting until it's too late for everyone to return their Evo's to release the source.
Cuz if they did release the source within 30 days of launch and everyone found out that the 30fps really is a hardware limit (yes I know about the dirty hacks, the devs term not mine) then we would see a mass exodus of people returning their phones for the galaxy or droidx.

I really like those people who try to root their phone, but then can't get adb working on their pc. If you can't install and use adb, you shouldn't be rooting a phone.

Welcome to the new management aka dumber than the last one. Some of these special folks now locks the thread and cleans it so flame war ect won't continue when locked.

Makes a bit of sense. It's funny because I was starting to just get into it... I'm not sure I can wait, I might have to see what royalginger or faux's AOSP is all about. I'm addicted to flashing ROMs I think.

Now I never used evil D's rom/kernel or anything. But on serious note as another user in another thread said his rom may have radio.img in it maybe the reason it was pulled. As we all know the danger with corrupted radio.img and as the user says he didn't supply folks with md5 checksum which would give higher risk of bricking the device if corrupted. So maybe thats why it was pulled who knows only evil D and dingleberry mods knows.

Yea I don't think that was it. I'm thinking more of stolen code or some nonsense. but that's all just speculation. Whatevs, I am kind of attached to sense 3.0 now, but I have a taste for vanilla... I need two phones....

Well technically yes legally HTC can make claim and have it removed. But in the past they have not done so as they actually have very open standard with Android development world. As more news hits of unlocked bootloader and opensense sdk which proves more on that matter.
Far as stolen source code goes let say from another user no one else has put any projects as evil d's contribution is known in our community. Now the new mods may not know this as they don't even own MT4G nor has they been in our sections until Option went MIA. If these new mods do lock/delete it then all of the evil D users should boycott XDA and go download from his direct site if they have it. It seems XDA is becoming very cocky atm with its 4million userbase which can drop any min if main developers pulled back from here.

lol you really don't know who I am then. I can't clearly say I support any type of moderation's let it be mod, super mod, admin as I have dealt with all of them in here. I just think they should assign new mod who at least have a clue with the device we have. Also the new mods nuked alot of my posts which actually had no flame, ect and was actually informative. If they contributed to our device in any ways I would be supportive but since they haven't I can say I share their value. Whos/Option both where our own MT4G member but the other 2 new mod's now don't even own MT4G. So they actually offer nothing to the members here.

But far as rom goes I stick to AOSP as I am not big fan of Sense based. ATM using CM7NB86 (AOSP2.3.4).

I like the customization, nice look. I was CM7 for a little bit, I loved it, was going to switch back but I got hung up on the HTC apps. I still can't find a ROM that does VM notification for 'mycarrier', it never works and bugs the crap out of me, so I use googlevoice.
I agree that mods should be experienced with the hardware/software that their respective sections of moderation use. runs smoother that way and I think overall creates synergy(I love that word). But the objectiveness of a mod that doesn't have any affiliation with the section can be useful in when stopping disputes/flame/etc. IDK the real reason why the thread was locked but it seemed like that move was jumping the gun a bit.

I also see that another developer that was pretty new and had posted 3 roms within the last week is suddenly gone now also. He had a really good stock rom for MT4G that was GingerSense but now all of his threads and posts are gone. Nowhere to be found. Can only see his roms via rom manager.

Anyone know why its currently closed yet? I had my suspicions about text9 app included, but he said it was okay cause it wasnt full version and tmo is putting it on future phones instead of swype im guessing.

If you read a few pages back into the thread, it should be pretty obvious why the download link was removed and the thread temporarily closed. None of the issues discussed in this thread are the real reason. It should be an easy fix, so hopefully the matter is resolved soon.

Or you could have told the OP why in single line instead of him reading few pages. Some folks like myself never used his rom's much less visited his threads but we would be still interested to know why.

it may be the fact that the thread turned into a pissing contest and everyone was arguing about stupid crap like evil updating the rom everyday. which i dont see them pulling the rom for that reason. glad i have every version downloaded already

Okay, if u don't know which firmware to use, it's located in post 5. If ur coming back from ics to give this a go, flash the rom first and reboot into bootloader and do the firmware update that way. It's helps to make it all a smooth flash. Hope u enjoy my first rom.

Excuse me? Clearly, this guy was TRYING TO HELP YOU and not start anything. He even said ignore him if he's wrong. He was concerned your thread would be taken down (because guess what, that has happened before) and then he asked you about it instead of completely assuming. A true troll would have gone right to broncogr and started whining that a thread isn't compliant (if it indeed wasn't)

Yes, I too have run, most of, the ics rom, but sometimes I want to run Gingerbread. Since I really use my wifi calling, ics isn't for me yet. The ics mod of wifi calling is not stable and for that it sucks. Once tmobus has the official wifi calling, I'll be all about ics.

People are dicks sometimes for no reason. I've seen it first hand and if someone is trolling, then they would pm the person, not put a post for All to see. Doing this draws attention, like it has, to the person. Kinda like being a sly little snitch. If he was trying being helpful he would just pm'd me. this doesnt work.....this was proposed long time ago but eventually everyone forgot about this in few days......the truth is the existing devs are too busy to release new versions of their respective roms and there is no room for them to work on any other project.......only vish is the guy that i know who has tried development in different areas like cm,aosp,etc whereas all the other devs are busy with thier roms or are busy porting roms from mini so answer to your question is a big NO.....

well yes you can always try.....anyway my fit is dead and i m gonna buy some other phone so it doesnt matter to me anymore....try contacting feras and others.........

First: why do you want them to work together?
Okay, you'll answer it by saying we'll get one super-ultra-awesome-bug-free-dead-stable-battery-efficient-uber-fast rom
But would you want one?
If you just had one rom, where would the "joy" of flashing go? Using one rom, monotonously, with just a few options added here and there...
How boring it would be, when you know that the rom you just flashed, won't bootloop...won't restart oh-so-often...having eveything working perfectly...
I don't see how that's better than the plethora of different options, each having their own plus point...
The rest of us, here on xda, would just become users...nothing left for us to "contribute"...doing nothing but clicking thanks every time the devs do a post...
Do you want to make yourselves "useless"?
And also, there's a point in a device's life, when the development gets "plateaued", I.e. there isn't any significant difference between two roms (leave alone different versions of the same rom)...
And we have reached that point (if you haven't noticed it yet)
There isn't much scope left, since we are limited by hardware...
Again, I'll repeat my question...would you want all of them to work together?
P.s. just to tell you all...there is already an arrangement, where all our great devs can interact with each other...
They do work together...just on different things
And lastly, too many cooks spoil the broth...
Hope my long post gives you something to think about...else it'll go waste...(just like how the individual efforts of our devs, on their own roms, would go...if ever they decide on just one rom for all)
