[Q] HyperSensation-CM7.1-v1.2 - HTC Sensation

I have several problems with HyperSensation-CM7.1-v1.2 ROM, I use faux AOSP kernel 0.2.5 beta 2 but tested and in other kernels.
1. With the video camera audio stream is writed with sampling rate of 8000 Hz (16000 Hz shows MX Player) .It's a very poor quality. How do I fix it?
2. 1080p are not playing smoothly. With the Android Revolution HD was not like this. Videos played back smoothly. How do I fix it?
3. Some files on MX Video Player falls off (do not want to play with the GPU) While the built-in PicVidew plays normally. How do I fix it?
4. I do not understand - whether in the ROM GPU UI rendering? And is it possible turn it on?

Playing high resolution video?

Which is the best player to view video in high resolution without to convert them or stuff like that!
I already overclocked it on 1.5 GHz but i can not play 1280x720 videos fluently!
I heard that the SGS 2 can play 1920 fluently out of the box, dont know if its true!
I'm currently on 3.0.1! Is there a difference on 3.1?
Hi oaz1,
Did you make high profile video work OK now? I am also very interested to make at least 720p high profile video work on my Xoom.
Have you tried Tiamat Kernel with both CPU and GPU overclock? Are you using software or hardware video decoding?
FYI, I am running stock 3.2 image.

I've been using mx video player. It plays 720p files without a problem.
Buy dice player...
Install Mobo Player and QQ Player, and then buy Dice Player, it plays high profile 720p H264 without a hitch. You can also use XenonMKV to convert the audio in your high profile videos (without re-encoding video) and play them back in the stock player without issues. Takes about 15 minutes to convert and rebuild a 2 hour movie on my laptop, video is untouched in the process. I did that once, but it's much easier (and well worth the ~$5) to buy Dice Player.

[Q] How to play 720p/AC3 properly

From sd:
Whats the current common way to play 720p mkv with AC3 Audio.
I either get good video with no sound (hw decode) or choppy video with sound (sw decode)
i tried moboplayer, default player and rockplayer (i think)
the only player that plays it properly is diceplayer but its a 3 day trial.
Is there no easy way to play a 720p/ac3 video?
Streaming:
I have a 300mbit wireless at home, works perfectly with laptop<->desktop
No matter what i try with the eee pad, videoplayback is choppy when streaming it.
i tried mynet and those 2 other upnp clients that are out there using ps3mediaserver on my desktop (ushare, gmediaserver were not "seen" from the eee pad)
Whats the current common way to stream media?
Is there a way to play from nfs share at all? Or at least samba?
greetings
-dan
If you want to root your device, cifs is pretty common and reliable.
Revolver and Prime both include this feature as part of their rom. I don't have any experience with other roms.
Also, I switched to using mxplayer, i like how it has the ability to switch rendering modes from the play screen.
Thanks for the cif thingie, i am going to look that up.
MX player wont play ac3 audio in hw decode :/
For playback buy dice placer from the market. There is no better app for videos.
Streaming and watching HD videos is very difficult. Tegra 2's Videodecoder is very average at best. When you copy something to your device the android is using the cpu. For HD Videos with High Profile you need nearly all cpu power of the Tegra 2. When you streaming at the same time, you can run in performance and transfer problems because of the 1000Mhz. So you should overclock the cpu for a better experience.

[Q] 1080p Quality on Inspire

Whenever I try to play 1080p videos on my phone they lag significantly for about a minute and eventually the player crashes.
I used Rock Player Light and the default Video player included with Ninja (ROM).
Any ideas as to what the issue could be?
i use mobo player it plays 1080p perfectly..if u still have problems overclock to 1.2ghz and set performance mode ONLY WHILE UR PLAYING THE VIDEO u can keep it clocked at 1.2 ghz but use some other governor like ondemand, performance will suck up ir battery..
Idk about 1080p but I have Mobo Video Player Pro and my 720p mkv and mp4 videos play perfectly.

720p plays perfectly on my phone as well, I just don't want to have to convert all my 1080p things to 720p every time I want to put them on my phone. I'm about to try overclocking it, hopefully it'll work out. If not, i'll stick to 720.

mkv video playback lags

Hi, all. I own xperia Neo V, recently rooted. I use MX player for video playback. There seems to be a lag at random intervals during video playback, especially playing mkv files. During the lag, audio continues to play while video displays as a still picture and then delayed video gets played back at a very fast pace. Then video playback continues fine and then lags with similar issue at another random interval. The lag happens for 5-8 seconds . I would like to know if any workaround for this problem? Does anyone face similar issue?

Hi! What is the resolution of the video? Because the Neo and Neo V screen resolution is only 720p and it won"t play full hd videos, but 720p videos is working well. I have Xperia Neo and it's not playing the full hd vids with any player! The sound goes as it should, bat the screen freezes. Reduce the video size and it will work...
The resolution is 576*432
I tried BSplayer, QQplayer too. all lag at random intervals
I use Moboplayer (the one with a "green triangle on a grey circle" icon), and it plays everything, except full hd vids. The max reslution is 1280x720, but even Quickpic plays too. So i dunno what the problem is... What rom are you using and kernel? Maybe you run out of free memory during playback... Have you download the codec for MX player? When I first install it, it's need the MX Player Kodek (ARMv7 NEON)...
But now I probe one video (1280x720) and Quickpic plays it, I'm able to scrolling too...
I tried Mobo before. One thing that I love about MX is that it's HW acceleration feature is excellent which boost your volume twice, and all other players including Mobo can't match this boost. That's the only reason stopping me to use other apps. Anyways, thanks for hinting Moboplayer, will try it out again. Regarding Quikcpic, I use it only to view my pictures, new used it to play any video.

MxPlayer has problems playing the Sony a6000 (new NEX line) videos.

Hello,
at home I wanted to show my family a movie made with my new Sony a6000 (NEX-6 like) camera.
I copied the movie on to the micro-sd of my lg gpad 8.3 (running cm11) and started to play the video file using mx player. The video started just fine, but right after about 2 seconds the viedeo stopped and just the audio continues.
Jumping to any other time gives me the same result.
Even after recoding the video the playback had problems, too.
I use hardware decoding:
I filmed in:
50fps (Europe)
1920x1080
AVCHD (Sony)
recoded into: .mp4 (H265 @ 3000bits)
Maybe you guys could find a solution.
Here is a link to a short (22MB) video file that has the same problem:

@cybercrash
I have faced some frame freeze very rarely on HW mode. In HW+ decoder I have noticed some frame distortion on the beginning of the playback. I think it's because of Higher frame rate.
Have you tried on SW mode?
SW decoder uses mxplayer's internal ffmpeg library. It's works fine for me without any problem.

Hello,
thanks for your feedback.
I've just tried without HW+ and it works...kind of.
The video is played all the way, but at a much lower framerate. The video seems to stutter.
Which device you are using?
SW decoder uses CPU to decode. It need more power to run. When it's not enough the frame will fall behind audio. To avoid audio video sync frame will be dropped.

I use the LG Gpad 8.3 with the CyanogenMod 11 Android 4.4.4
Snapdragon 600 CPU
Qualcomm Adreno 320 GPU
2GB of RAM
To me this seems powerful enough, or am I wrong?

@cybercrash
It depends upon the hardware.
I have tried the same video on my another device with 1 GB ram & MTK 6589 @ 1.2 GHz quad core. In HW decoder mode video plays well. But, in SW decoder I can see the effect like low frame rate. In HW mode it uses native hardware decoders. That's why it's play well. In SW decoder CPU will be used for decoding. MT6589 @ 1.2GHz Quad core is not enough to decode. That's why it's fall behinds.
Where as In my first test S5 has exynos 5 octa core processor, which has more power & working well.
If you still have any problem kindly run mx log collector after playback & post the logs here. So, the developer can look at your problem.
Can you tell me how I can save this log?

I tested your video on my Nexus 5. It suffers lags with sw decoder but not with hw+ decoder.
Are you sure there is lags even with hw+ decoder?
If so, check following settings;
1) Turn off subtitle in the subtitle selection window. (Click speech balloon button on the right upper side of the screen)
2) Turn off software audio in the audio track selection windows.

Did all that. Still stuck video.
My problem is lag during SW decoder and a video stop (paused) video while audio is still going.
HW decoder gives me an error message:"This video can not decoded using HW...". Then it switches back to HW+ and after 0,5-1sec the video stops/lags again.
Same problem with VLC.
I guess 50fps is too much.
I just tried that sample with a snapdragon 400 SoC (xperia m2) and for me it plays fine with h/w+. No stuttering/hang, no a/v desync. S/w mode is stuttering though.

This looks like CPU computing power limit. Which means CPU is not fast enough to play this video.
Typically 1080p 50fps video is too heavy to decode with SW decoder in current mobile CPUs.

Your video is 1080p mpeg4/h264. Most of the modern device can natively play 1080p @50fps. So, I think your device can play the video in HW mode. There might be a problem with your custom rom.
Can you post the log?
It will be helpful to identify the problem.
(You can easily collect the log either by Menu> Help > Report bug or by running the seperate mx log collecter app after playing the file. As of now there is no way to save it. When it asks save the log in your mail. Then you can easily download & attach here)

What I was meaning to say is that if my snapdragon 400 can play it with h/w+ (plus downscaling it to my 960 x 540 resolution), then @cybercrash's snapdragon 600 should be easily able to play it back at the native 1920x1200 resolution. I prefer to use the h/w+ decoder anyway, so I'm not worried about my CPU not being strong enough to decode it in s/w mode.
@Crim Soukyuu
I have wrongly quoted you instead of original poster

Thanks for all your help and suggestions.
I've got the solution. It was a fault in the cm11 version.
After updating today to the latest nightly the video plays smoothly using HW+. No framerat dropping or stuck video.
I was just about to go back to the original LG firmware.
Right after it worked just fine a mxplayer update came out and after installing it the video hangs again.

If you are still using CM11 try again after switching to LG stock rom...
