Right now its probably the HTC Desire HD. The Galaxy S awesome but it's riddled with bugs and Samsung still haven't given ud an official froyo, but the hardware is simply amazing

Amen. Desire HD FTW.
i think galaxy is better than htc hd. but samsung should really work hard on their upgrade and other bugs.
HTC Leo
Is it´s capable of boot Android and WM
If only Android I would choose Desire Z
It's your own opinion realy ...
But yeah Desire HD ftw
I would also say the Desire HD.

Have to agree,
(very) Large screen, capable of running
WM6.5,
Android 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 & 2.4 (sort of),
WP7,
MeeGo and
Ubuntu.
Now who can beet this....
only downside is the lack of RAM on EU model..
I believe that you should ask yourself two questions.
1- how much money I'm welling to spend.
2 - wich characteristics must the phone have.
And then pick a phone from the available ones

For me Personally, I absolutely HAVE to have wifi calling on my phone due to the crappy signal I get in my house, 2 doors up or down I get 5 bars and full 4g, but in the house I barely get edge and get 1 bar that comes and goes. With that being said T-mobile is the only one that makes wifi calling on some of their newer android phones. I presently own the Mytouch 4g witch I love, but If I have a bunch of cash I'd run out and buy the G2X, that looks really sweet.
Enjoying the HTC Incredible S, but I'm drooling over the Atrix and the new Charge from HTC
using lg optimus 2x with cm7
it's really fast
another vote for desire from me!
I would say anything BUT the LEO(HD2) if you do not want to change the OS. I've had the hd2 for a while and I truly despise the bugs in WinMo 6.5 ...the features are well intended but it just does not operate well after using it for a while. Android on the LEO/HD2 is fantastic though and the screen size is unbeatable.
The G2x, Nexus S are the best phone because they aren't skinned and offer and a pure Google experience. If you want a used phone then nexus 1 or the Motorola Droid for its keyboard.
Even though the HTC Desire is getting on a bit now, it's still looking good as news even though I use it heavily everyday. Running the Oxygen Mod so it's using one of the latest Android versions, Gingerbread (2.3).
There are a cool new Android phones around this year such as the LG Optimus 2X since it's dual core. The Sony Xpheria Play looks interesting too since it's designed for gaming.
I can see why but I think the Galaxy S is SOO undervalued it's not true.
With 4 inch Voodoo Color, you get best screen for now with tweaks. Obviously, without voodoo color, the SGS II 4.3 with Super Amoled Plus would win the game.
As far as SQ is concerned, again, Galaxy S with Voodoo sound, Galaxy tuner/DSP manager and powerAMP, it's up there with Sony and Cowon DACs which in my opinion as an audiophile, it absolutely great since I don't like carrying two devices.
Adding onto this, the ROM devs with CM7, MIUI AND sense as well as optimized Samsung ROMs which have NO lag at all, the only flaw in my SGS is the build quality. Actually, quality isn't so bad, it just feels cheap because it's too light which in this case is a bad thing.
Oh btw, codec support is amazing and I may be wrong but is one of the best in terms of codec support as well.
Come on people, SGS all the way if you want all round phone (Or Nexus S cuz it's basically the same now.)
Galaxy s II
HTC Inspire 4G FTW!!!!
The G2X or Nexus S are good to go...or a used phone like the Nexus One (Android Development phone).
Well I have used phones like HTC G1 & G2, they were good phones but a little less performing. Which is a good Android phone right now that has pretty high specs.
I am looking to spend upto £250/$500 (for a used phones). And I am looking for a smooth running phone like good graphic ability and stuff, so hit away...
HTC Desire HD!
Desire HD or the upcoming motorola atrix? But you'll have to rise your limits a bit.

Thanks guys, looked up the Desire HD, looks kinda expensive =/. Motorola Atrix, how much are we looking at?
Well off contract it might be cheaper since its moto. Id say around 550<600. Not bad nowadays.

A few questions you should make your self:
What operating system you prefer?
WP7-WM-Android-Rest
Keyboard or not?
Size?
Said that and based on your 1st post I would consider the HTD Desire Z

Wise man speaking. Or G2! Amazing piece of phones
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I'm kind of disappointed about HTC. They making 10 new android phones per quarter.
Mytouch 4G looks cheap to me. G2 nothing new, except the keyboard. I bet there would be G3 soon, or some other kind of phone better than G2.
I think HTC should slow down a bit and create a Master phone that would kick ass of all phones around.
Samsung - I don't feel confident with them. Had a lot of troubles in the past with their cell phones. A friend owns Galaxy S, which glitchis like hell (could be just a bad phone though).
Motorola - Maybe, but issue with Cliq update and Motoblur make me reconsider the choice.
There are new LGs comming soon. With Tegra 2 processor. I had no experience with LGs at all. Lets wait and see how it will go.
PS: Just personal point of view. I too want to buy a phone, but I keep telling myself to wait a bit longer to see what it will be like in a month.
Yeah true, I personally only like HTC.
Well lets see, checklist:
Android
Keyboard if possible then better but not needed
Minimum display size 3"
I just hate windows mobile, just never liked it.
Need to check out the desire Z now.
Well I wanna buy a new phone (obviously) and I want your advice.
I currently have a Samsung Wave, I gotta change it since Bada OS is a piece of crap, and I currently do NOT recommend it to everybody until Bada 2.0 is released
Things I care about :
-Android 2.3 or updatable to 2.3 | updatable to Ice Cream (optional)
-Strong sound quality through headsets
-Great camera, 5.0 or better. Flash isn't important if the night mode is great
-Speed, 1GHz processor and ability to play 3D games smoothly, I hate lags
-Popular to developers, so I can find some advices and easy to root
-Long-lasting, i'll keep the device I buy for 2 years
-Screen above 3.7", screen should be the best thing, so either SAMOLED or SLCD
-Not as expensive as Sensation and Galaxy S II, budget is $530
-Long supported, so the company won't sell me out. That automatically eliminates Motorola.
Any advice's appreciated, Thanks.
The og Samsung galaxy s or one of it variants.

What do you think of the HTC Desire S ?
How about going a itsy bitsy bit higher price and get one of the latest flagships like HTC Sensation, HTC EVO 3D, or Samsung Galaxy SII?
--- meaning: change your requirement a tiny bit ----
Edit:
Long support? I believe no company will give you long enough support, I believe only rooting and getting support from the devs in this forum is the best way
The term support, I understand it as software update support, so that you can go as far as you can with the phone.
example:
Desire with Gingerbread and Sense 3.0. These you can get only on the unofficial way done by the devs.
I have the original HTC Incredible. Very happy with HTC phones. I would buy another and likely will when the time comes.
You just described the Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000
I had the phone for 8 months and that's a super device. No way to brick or anything, with great customizations and mods..

The main competition now is between Samsung Galaxy S and HTC Desire S, I tried both these phones and even with that i'm confused lol. Who's better with the things that I care about ? I already know Galaxy S has a better screen but I mean besides that, and thank you all very much
Yeah, I would go with the Evo 3d. Really a great phone. But might be too pricy?
Eventually it's up to you. But have in mind that the Galaxy S was chosen as the best smartphone of 2010 and sold a bit over 10 000 000 devices globally..
If you would be buying this device and would need help about anything related just PM

Okay, thanks man.
So I'm trying to decide on which T-Mobile phone to get hopefully next week. I had the Nexus One and it broke so for the moment I'm stuck with a blackberry and not happy with it at all.
I'm deciding on either between the Nexus S or the HTC Sensation. Any help from you guys on deciding which one to get would be great.
Also, if there is any other phone you might think would be great, let me know.. I'm planning on rooting it and everything
HTC Sensation 4G definitely. Personally, I love Sense, but even if you don't, the hardware is great, and I believe there are already a good number of AOSP ROMs for it. (and it has a front facing camera)
if you plan on modding it, then i would consider the community size for each phone.
the sensation has a slightly bigger community then the nexus s (how do i know? just go to forum.xda-developers.com and compare the stats for the phones)
id say you should wait for the samsung galaxy s II
I would recommend the HTC Sensation. This is a great phone with Sense 3.0 already on it. There is some great development for custom ROMS on this phone. And if you don't like Sense then you can drop an AOSP ROM on it and eliminate it. I think the Sensation gives you the best of both worlds, Sense and AOSP.
Here are some excellent choices:
-Samsung Dart
-Samsung Gravity
-Optimus T
-Wildfire S
-Samsung exhibit
-Moto Defy
-Moto Cliq 2
-Samsung Behold
-G2
Here are some high-quality Android phones that feature a great price point, these phones are good for normal usage. They pack quite the punch, though not the same punch as a Sensation, but still punch none the less. When accompanied by a 200MB Data plan, 500Min, and Unl Txt, this combinations leads to large savings and a good Android experience. If you remove txt you'll save yourself even more money per month, don't let the these not so high-end phones scare you off. They have good reviews from users and you should consider one of the above, they'll help you appreciate android even more, and the phones have .6-1GHz cores, with HVGA, causing slick and smooth performance. These Socs are handy for lite usage, their Accelerated GPUs are good for games like Angry birds if that's what you like, web browsing could be on par with the Sensation. Which from some people I've heard the browser is not as snappy due to no HW accel being enabled. Please carefully pick your next phone, if you don't wait for ICS.
-Ace
Don't buy anything that has been on the market for more than 4 or 5 months because it will be so underpowered by your next upgrade you will hate it for the last year of your contract. If you are on TMO and don't get the Sensation, you have a problem. I would pick up that phone in a heartbeat if I could get it on my carrier.
Thanks guys and I"m thinking about getting the Sensation.. or save my $$$ and wait for the new google phone?? Nexus Prime??
galaxy s2 is coming out...
It's hard to find a phone that will tie you over for a while. I've been rocking my Nexus S, unknown to the fact that Wifi Calling was the ONLY thing missing from it...after trying out a friend's G2 and using Wifi Calling in the basement, it's drastically changed my view on a lot of the T-Mobile lineup.
I've been disappointed with T-Mo's decision to equip their variant of the Galaxy S II with a snapdragon instead of the exynos, and it may be an uphill climb to get decent rom/dev support (mind you, this is speculation and may not be a hindrance at all). I've been looking at the Sensation, but I'm not entirely convinced it's the end-all be-all. I could be COMPLETELY wrong, but I'm not seeing its potential just yet.
Nexus Prime will be an ideal choice, but I will strongly look at more 'branded' phones due to the invaluable wifi calling ability.
I hate hard decisions

that post really read like a bad craigslist ad..
the G2, the cliq 2, the defy, and the exhibit are all legitimately great phones, if you don't want the latest pick the sensation, sell it new in box, and buy one of these on craigslist.
if you're going prepaid and can't spend more than $150, then the wildfire s or optimus t new..
suggesting the Behold especially is outright crazy.
I very much enjoy the versatility of the htc sensation 4g with the Android Revolution HD 3.6.11 rom.

hi,
this is my first thread. right now I have a Galaxy Mini and planning to buy some high end android device. I like music so much but I dont like a huge android phone (Sensation XE, eventhough I love Beats) and I don't really like the Xperia either. so my question is what is the best android phone which has screen size about 3.7~4in and also dual core processor?
camera is not my biggest consern.
thank you
update:
nevermind. I found my dream phone, it's called Motorola Atrix. it has 4" display, 1gig of RAM and dual core processor. Im getting it shortly.
thanks for the comment and suggestions. I really appreciate that.

Personally i would go with the HTC Rezound. in my opionion htc phones are the "best" for running any rom in my experience. it seems that people are more dedicated to making new roms for any htc phone and making improvements but thats only my opinion. it has a dual core and is 4.3 in display (hope thats okay). it also comes with the beats audio. its lightning fast and runs on 4G LTE and much more little tweaks for an htc phone . you can also go with the google nexus it runs on ICS and all google. i have tried the ICS roms myslef on my HTC Inspire 4g and i have to say i love them. ICS is amazing and very fast. but if your main focus is music the google nexus is not a good fighter for it. those are the two phones that im looking into buying soon.

Here in the US, there are only a couple of phones that fit your criteria. There's the Atrix 4g, which has a 4" qhd display, with a Tegra 2 dual core chip, and 1gb of RAM.Some people might say the Atrix sucks, but I had it, and it was a solid phone. The other option is the iphone 4s, but I hate iPhones, so I can not attest to them.
Being in Indonnesia, you probably have access to Sharp and NTT Docomo. I know there are a couple of dual core phones with 3.5"-4" screens.

I went to the DHL site today and got a rate quote. It says that the shipping cost from CONNECTICUT 01373 to BANDUNG 40379 is $145. I dont know if this rate quote is right because I wrote these following informations:

Htc evo 4g internet won't work. Gives error code 129
I recently purchased an HTC EVO 4G rooted and with the custom Rom Energy installed by the previous owner. Problem is since I activated the phone days ago the internet won't work. When I turn it on it reads Error Code 129- unable to establish a data connection. The phone will make calls and receive calls and I can text. However when I try to launch internet explorer it says to make sure your device has a signal and data connection. I called Sprint and they tried to walk me through the manual prl update but the rom I run doesn't have a system update setting so I can't manually update the prl. I have a 3G signal on my phone so the techs at the store told me that my internet should work on a regular phone. The tech suggested that I remove the root. Does anyone know what the problem could be? All help would be greatly appreciated.
For anyone else reading this thread who might like another opinion, I own an LG Optimus 2X which fits the bill in the original post, and with ICS installed it really comes alive! Is down to £199 RRP in places too so could be a good dual core phone for on a budget soon!

If a 4.3" screen is too big fir you, a 4.5" screen is going to be HUGE. Skyrockets are here go for about $380-$430usd. As for the shipping quote, try using 2lbs as a shipping weight. Shouldn't weigh more than that.

This is the wrong thread to post this question, but because you actually tried to help yourself first, before asking this question, I'll help you. First thing to do is call Sprint and give them your IMEI# so they can register the phone to your account. Then ask them to push the internet settings to your phone, then ask them to refresh their system. After that, pull the battery from your phone, replace, and power it on, and try connecting to the internet.
If that doesn't work, you might want to restore your phone to stock.
BTW this might be a stupid question, but are you sure you have a data package on your account?
