You are putting plastic over the screen. You may want to "realign the screen" That way it can calibrate for the new Protector. That's what I always do on my Kaiser.

Very good point!
I feel stupid but thats what this forum is for

[Q] What's the verdict on screen replacement?

My screen cracked very minorly in the top right corner, LCD still in tact and touch still working perfectly. Without doing any research, I bought a glass screen lens for ~$12 on eBay. The product page said it included tools and is easily replaceable. Has anyone done this? Is it safe to do? Thoughts, suggestions?

There some videos on youtube that show you why you shouldn't try doing it. :crying:

Box included screen protectors

Since I haven't found a thread about this, for those who are curious about the screen protectors that are included in the box.
I've tried them on, its not oleophobic and its not scratch proof. Oh and it makes the phone look less good, because of the funny triangle cutoff they made.
Keeping them on for now till i get my hands on some better quality protectors... (getting Spigen GLAS.t) or might as well go naked glass and remove the antishatter film... but a screen like this.. deserves some extra protection... as long the protection itself doesnt make look bad.
Several threads about this already. In every post that talks about the provided screen protectors, it's been discussed they are not oleophopic, etc.

See if you have applied it properly. The NFC logo does cause a bump in the screen protector. Weird.
You still got the NFC sticker on under the back screen protector?

My included screen protectors went on the day I had the phone - in my experience the highest chance of scratching, dropping, scuffing or knocking a new phone is in the first few days and weeks when your hands aren't quite used to the shape and size of it.
I'll keep these on until they start looking tatty - which may not be very much longer, especially for the back one - then relace with something nicer.

It was applied perfectly well thank you very much.
Sony confirmed to me that they cause issues with the camera flash in low light conditions and have agreed to replace my phone due to the original factory fitted protectors being scratched.
Please don't jump to stupid conclusions that people don't know how to apply screen protectors. I am almost 40 and have been using mobile phones since the very first bricks and have been applying screen protectors since they first came out also.
Cheers.

I removed the NFC logo. I'm getting my phone replaced and will be putting the new one in a case and having an invisible shield on the front.
Cheers
I immediately put on the Front AND Back screen protectors included in-box for my C6603 AFTER taking off the NFC sticker, but kept the anti shatter screen on as well, after hearing it was incredibly prone. My XZ hardly picks up any fingerprints or dust, and has no scratches whatsoever. Also, I've found everything about the viewing angles and contrast to really not matter at all in general use - but this is my first phone since the good ol' LG Cookie.
I getting these! http://dx-box.com/imak-anti-fingerprint-layer-screen-protector-for-sony-xperia-z.html
I currently have the screen protectors on that came with the phone and they suck lol ugly triangle cut, finger prints get on easily, scratch easily but, w/e there're temporary no more f****** dust! so, when i get these Imak screen protectors i will let you guys know if they are good or not!
In my Box didn't included any screen protectors... :/

Dude... if you got yours paste by the shop and yours got a bump caused by the NFC sticker... please go and smack the person who paste the SP for you because they should remote that sticker first before pasting the SP.
.
Ahh, No protectors in my box.

Hi mate, could you explain by "original factory fitted protectors being scratched"? What color is your phone? I'm also having problems with taking pictures in low light. Thanks in advance.

Replacement of glass xperia C3

HI guys, today i dropped my Xperia C3 D2533...
Now looking for solutions, i found a glass replacement with touch, anyone know how to remove the old glass without replace the entire screen?
Touch and screen is 100% working...
I have a heat pistol.
I should buy the entire screen, but in my country(chile) is a bit expensive (200 usd with conversion) and the glass replacement is cheaper (30 usd).
Because that i can't just change the screen, i need to repair it without break the LCD.
Anyone could help me with guides?
As far as i know, in this phone can be replaced the glass.
Help me please !!!!

Thanks
I found many digitizer replacement videos for Xperia U and other models, and all are the same process...
Just use carefully the hair dryer for the screen glue and done.
Seems easy

Ah, just one more thing...
The "glue" from the glass normally is on the entire screen OR just on the frame?
I want to know this, please

If you're referring to the OCA glue between the glass and the display, yes, it will be on the entire surface.

Mark under screen.

I was wondering if anyone knows what this problem could be.
A mark has just appeared on my s8+ screen (left middle) and it appears to be under the glass. Surely something can't get inside a water & dust proof phone. Could it be some pixel issue? I guess I'll get to return it under warranty? Any ideas appreciated.

The mark, whatever it is, won't show up in a screenshot. You'll have to take a picture of your screen with another phone.
Ah, OK. Thanks. I'll do that then when I get a minute.
If it's dark and has a rainbow sheen to it, it could be the LCD has been damaged under the glass cover...
Took a screen photo which of course is not a good close up but gives an idea at least of what I am talking about. Reminds me of a dust mark on a dslr sensor but how anything could get into a sealed divide beats me.

Do you have a screen protector on the phone?
No, I don't use a screen protector. I've always been pretty careful with phones & never had a problem with scratches or anything. I use a case on this phone for the first time ever but only because I find it quite slippery.

same issue. What did you end up doing?
It was still under warranty so took it to Samsung shop & they replaced the whole screen for me. But not before they quizzed me about what I had being doing with it. I pointed out the pristine condition it was in so I clearly hadn't dropped it or anything & told them that EVEN Samsung products can malfunction. They reluctantly fixed it for me but the whole customer service experience made my blood boil.
