Disable 911 autofill - T-Mobile LG G2x

Hey guys,
I'm using a G2x and I've called 911 by mistake six times now. Three times they've called back... and it's not fun making everyone in the room talk to them to verify there is no emergency.
This is very annoying. Tmobile can't help me disable it. I have other Android phones that require me to type in '911' before dialing. It seems when my screen is locked, a push of the unlock button or moving the phone around can cause the 'emergency call' button to get activated, which then *autofills* in 911, leading to these calls.
How can I disable the autofilling of 911 or just this feature in general.
Thanks a million (saved in wasted taxes and hassles, haha)!

I did that today one time.

Samsung galaxy support line

I just got off the phone with Samsung galaxy s support and they said they did NOT know about the GPS issues on the Samsung captivate. I think we should get as many people to call as possible. Here is the contact information.

Edit for user keyboard errors.

I'll call later. Do you know what their business hours are? Specifically Pacific time?
No I don't. Sorry. I forgot to ask

Hmmm
I have been trying to call that number, and when I get to the customer service rep, it automatically disconnects. I even tried on a landline. Straaaaaaange.....

I waited on hold about 20 minutes for a specialist, after being told by the initial chick that I needed to talk to an android person. I finally had to hang up, work phone was ringing
I'm on the phone with them now, holding for a Level 3 tech. The first girl had me go into camera and turn on geotagging for some reason. This is after I told her I'm having issues with the GPS locking on. lol
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Level 3 tech suggests there might be a problem with GPS sats or it could also be the phone, but there is no way to troubleshoot so he recommends power cycling by removing the battery and SIM for 30 seconds and putting them back in.
Do they just make random stuff up?? haha. This is complete bs

Speakerphone now automatically on?

I've had this phone since the end of Feb and it has never done this. This past weekend, my wife and I, were over at a friends house and we kept getting pestered on my phone by an idiot who wanted to start stuff with us. Point is, during that time my phone was passed to 3 ppl besides my wife and I. One of them, not my wife, pushed something and now all calls are through the speaker. Do any of you know how to keep the speaker from coming on everytime I make or receive a call or where the setting is to keep it from doing that? My phone is bone stock and non rooted. I have searched, read the manual cover to cover, and looked through all the settings with no answer. It is extremely annoying to have to shut the speaker off everytime I go to make or receive a phone call. Prior to this weekend it was never like that. Any help to resolve this will be much appreciated.

You could try emailing the HTC support site. They resolved a similar issue with me in a day, in that case it was volume always at max during a call when I had a head set on with no volume control, along with a strange status icon. I had inadvertently selected a buried setting that is for the hearing impaired. No one on this forum helped after two days so gave HTC a shot at it, and they came through.
Ok, Kool. I'll try that, thanx.

Called HTC and they wanted me to factory reset my phone. I told them I couldn't do it right then and would do it later in the evening. They said before I got off the phone with them, if a reset didn't work to call warranty and get it exchanged. Well, before I could perform the reset, my phone surprisingly stopped doing it. Dunno what corrected it but was glad it was gone. A couple days later, it returned for only 3 phone calls. What I figured out was that it is connected with the car panel app. You need to use an app like Watchdog, which I got the free paid version when it was the daily freebie from Amazon, find the Car Panel process and "kill" it and it will stop. When you close it out it just goes to the backround. You need to close the process to get it to stop. I am gonna call HTC back and let them know how I corrected it, so people who dont come to forums like this one and calls HTC they have a solution other than a factory reset.

[Q] Calls garbled / no audio?

Ok we have 2 Infuses at my house and both are getting some king of call garbling. My mothers phone garbles very often and will only work if she hangs up and tries again. My phone on the other hand does the same thing with the added bonus of sometimes having no sound at all when the person picks up. So, is this a common problem or what?
I would like to add that some times the garbling goes both ways so that I hear the distortion on my phone when she calls (I mean this distortion is not related to our voices, ittl just happen by itself prompting a "did you just hear that?"
Thanks for any help you guys can give me, Im starting to wish I could still return it for another phone.
Is your sim card new?

Sure isnt. I havent had a problem on my backup phone.
Weird. No problems like that - the only audio problem I've seen reported any time recently is the Hellraiser first-call bug - but that only applies if you're running a Hellraiser ROM.
Really sounds to me like something is funky with your local towers... Maybe something the Infuse specifically doesn't like.
What was your backup phone? You never know, getting a new sim may help.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Network issue, just because another different model phone doesn't have the save issue means nothing. Your backup device could be GSM only for all we know while the Infuse uses WCDMA priority and GSM as a backup.
A SIM swap won't do anything unless you were getting no signal at all. Call at&t and report it, they'll most likely file a service request and send an engineer out to check it out.
Being that I used to be in telecommunications for T-mobile, this was a frequent issue I dealt with.

Thanks for that advice, Ive been pushing her to call in but shes far too lazy. Ill do it for my phone and see what happens.

[Q] Does the mytouch 4g slide have a proximity sensor?

The mytouch 4g slide is my wife's first android phone. It has been kind of a pain for her to get use to, especially because seems to hang up on people a lot by accidently hitting the end call button. My G2 has this feature so I never have to worry about it. Should the screen be going off when she has the phone next to her ear? I would also like to know if there is a setting somewhere I can adjust for her.
This REALLY bugs her!
Thanks
Yes it does and the screen SHOULD turn off when it gets close to her face during a call. Once it does that it will not respond to any cheek presses. If she's holding it far away from her face and tapping her cheek to it I can see why it would hang up, and the solution would be to have her try to hold the phone differently. I knew so many people that would "cheek mute" me or "cheek hang up" on me when they got the iPhone 4, but this phone hasn't caused me any problems. Maybe you can exchange it with T-Mobile for a new one if you feel it is defective.
Does it have a screen protector on? For some reason, my proximity sensor wasn't working properly when I had the plastic screen cover that the myTouch came with on.

Why don't you try asking your sister in law?
She only talks to people when she wants to talk, she works at a call center so she has to talk with people every day. Thanks for the answers

VERIZON - S Voice

:crying:
I have factory reseted my phone and it still will not do simple answer questions such as:
How high is Mount Everest. ANSWER: Say 'Hi Galaxy' to wake me up
I took the phone back to Verizon and all their S3 did the same thing. Even the two display models did the same. Verizon in Benton, Arkansas has opened a trouble ticket. Does anyone else in the country see the same thing?
I was just playing with S Voice right now and its crap.
Either, "I'm not sure what you mean by ..."
Or
"Say Hi Galaxy"
Or the famous excuse
"Network error..."

I had what may have been a similar issue yesterday up to around 2 am....
Then it started working again....I don't know how s voice really works but may be something on back end servers??

It works for me you have to have a good signal if not on wifi

...it appears too sporadic to be signal related though
hope its not that case. but it does appear to be back and working right now. some other responses here where it appears its a bit more spread the problem. hopefully something temporary like maintenance indeed.

its because you have the setting checked to wake s voice. You need to either wake it as it asks, or uncheck that option. I think it's in the lock screen settings.
