I just need to make sure i understand this right.
My phone before was on Froyo 2.2 v10b and updated it using LG official updater.
Now i got GB 2.3.5 v20b. Since there is no way to ROOT this yet, If i follow this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236 and flash using V21A KDZ, will i still have GB 2.3.5 and will i lose my data?
And we don't need internet connection with this process right?
And i can root V21a right?
Thank!
EDIT:
when i clicked UPGRADE START BUTTON in UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe(i followed all steps), the Select Country did not show up, it went directly to LG Official Flasher.
Any good samaritan out there?

Thanks guys!
Wish me luck!
Hope this time the select language screen will popup.
Hi guys.
I'm in trouble with my phone (LG P920h). I tried to install Cyanogen but it didn't work. Then, I restored to original ROM using LG Software Update and that's OK.
My cell phone is now with original GB 2.3.5, from LG. But, I have the same problem again: network is not working. I can't make calls. There's no signal.
My friend has the same cell phone. I noticed that, when I type in the dialer 3845#*920#, go to Version Info -> Factory Version, there's difference:
Mine: LGP920hAT-00-V20a-724-06-DEC-22-2011
Him: LGP920hAT-00-V20a-724-XXX-DEC-22-2011
Now I'm wodering if this 'XXX' in the version number is the problem.
I tried to install this baseband: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668541
But, it didn't work.
I tried to restore using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942836
But it also didn't work.
Does anyone know anything about this? Is my problem that 'XXX' in the version? If it is, how can I fix that?
Try to flash with Smart flash or LG flash tool, Bin files or KDZ file that will help you for sure.

hi bensmokie.
i've tried to use Smart Flash too. I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448803, using this bin: BIN_LGP920hAT-00-V20a-724-XXX-DEC-22-2011-0.zip
It flashed. But, it still isn't working.
Look i am not proffesional in this this stuff but i have been in your place, so i know how you feel right now.
Smart flash isn't working, so try LG flash tool, there was a time when i didn't know nothing about flash i had similar problem like yours , but Lg flash tool cleared all the problems for me, Try to flash your file with LG flash tool Bin and fls, just don't give up yet. or try to flash the baseband only for your country. good luck mate.

Adriano, you should also check if your IMEI has changed or been deleted. That sometimes happens when flashing different roms or basebands.
Check if the IMEI under your battery is the same that shows in system settings.
If they're different, use this tutorial to change it (only the restoring imei part): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734330.

Now remember failing after 80% is normal. Did it boot? Anything after 80% is just rebooting and not part of the flash.
Were you running MM 6.0 before ? If so you'll need to use LGUP

Sorry no clue. But that showing up is either hard brick or will require more than just flashing back to stock. I think there is a "unbrick" guide for that in the G3 section.

Hi, I had my S6 on android 5.0.2, carrier version, rooted and unlocked (with a imei which corresponded to a nokia after unlocking). The phone worked fine, I had service, I could make calls, etc... I decided to flash stock unbranded marshmallow on it, so I downloaded the firmware from sammobile and flashed it. Everything went right except I didnt have service (No service). I went desperate, I flashed modems, read thousands of threads, but nothing. Any suggestions?

When you flash your device you may loss your Imei number so you won't be getting service .but looks like you haven't lost it (provided you found them in the the settings option and not from the box which you got your phone from)
Look for a baseband fix for your phone in the site you got your ROM.
PS edit your previous post and delete your imei no.
I was just asking if it was there .
Ok, thanks alot. What would be a baseband fix?

Just a zip file of the baseband version that needs to flashed through recovery so the phone can get service
Edit: Your baseband version is OK as well.
Share the link where you got the rom pls .
Also try a normal reboot if you haven't tried it yet.
Update : you sure you can't make calls ,my marshmallow says no service(unless I haven't turned on cellular data) but I can make calls
.if nothing's working share the site which you got the rom from

Would installing twrp, and flashing a costum rom fix it? Or should I download the stock rom from another website?

According to this post you just need the flash tool and kdz but haven't tried it yet.
I just attempted it and ended up erroring at 9% with error 0x2000 CEFS:Initalize() :/ Attempting a redownload maybe I have some bad files.

Thanks for keeping us updated. I'm probably going to stock restore too, currently on the unlocked deodex 996.
When you did the restore, did you wipe data before you started? I think I'm going to wipe and format storage since I'm on the vs996 Rom. Unless there's a way to wipe data in the stock recoverym

I tried to use Uppercut but it kept giving me an error that no devices were found. I have adb drivers installed and the LG mobile driver installed, nothing showed as error in device manager. Did you have any issues like that?
Edit: Weird, tried it again and it seems to work.
Thanks a million everyone, I finally fixed my Lg v20 vs995! I kept having failure trying it with Uppercut, but I finally saw that I needed to install 3 files to get it to work correctly, 1st you need the kdz file: VS99512A_06_1114_ARB00.kdz, next you need to install 2 driver files, LGUP_Store_Frame_Ver_1_14_3_3.msi and LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.1.1.exe, and of course have UPPERCUT.exe. Finally after installing all of the correct drivers, and loading UPPERCUT, using the VS99512A_06_1114_ARB00.kdz, I finally got it to work and you have to choose "UPGRADE" in UPPERCUT, but I completely restored my phone to factory!!! What a frickn blessling, I am so happy, because I was trying for days to fix this..... and I actually threw this phone in the trash, hehehehehe, but something made be take it out of the trash an hour later, THANK GOD!
