FauxClock 0.8 - HTC Sensation

Just wondering how folks are finding FauxClock 0.8.
I managed to find it and am trying it as I was on 0.72 and 0.75 didn't work well for me.
Any views ?

0.8 FC every time I start it, so I roll back.

Link to download please i dl it and it is only showning it as a html and not apk

Thanks, but now it keeps saying CPU1 is offline?

Keeps force closing, how do I fix it?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App

Make sure you un-install old version first or wipe data if coming from an ealier version.
If it says CPU1 offline then it means that it's not needed and has shut down. I have opened it a couple of times and I have seen the second core is online and working but most of the time it is offline... better for battery life!
Working fine for me anyway with ARHD 3.6.7. Undervolted -50mv too.
Phil

Running stock ROM with faux123's kernel.
When CPU0 keeps staying at 1.5GHz, CPU1 still says it's offline.

I have the same, even when using the performance setting. Seems a bit odd, no matter what I use the phone for as soon as I open fauxclock one cpu is always offline. Did anyone have this on earlier versions?

I think that's just the aSMP architecture/Kernel. IRC the performance governor just fixes the speed at the maximum specified, it doesn't force both cores to be on.
I'll stick with 0.8.0, it does FC the first time after a re-boot but works fine after that. I like the screen off/on settings.
On another note I did find Faux123 0.2.3b9 best for my setup, lowest drain. I've not tried any other non Faux123 kernels yet.

same here...running 0.8 with intellidemand governor
i`ll test and see how performance is
second edit: why is fauxclock so underground.. isn't there an official thread?

I think it was all tied in to the Faux Thread. Since he's unfortunately stopped working on Sensation Kernels that thread has been closed.
Look in: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/4550-app08-beta-snapdragon-dual-core-oc-control/
TBH, I don't even know if it's compatible with other kernels, don't see why not but never tried. I guess the GPU and UV setting might not work with non Faux kernels.

Go to ROM manager and download OC
It's not there anymore.
Yea I wonder why iit was pulled. Worked great for me...
Thankfully, if it was already downloaded, it's still in your clockworkmod/ folder. Rejoice, those who have already downloaded it.
Direct download link is in that thread.
been running it at 1.4 since last night and loving every minute of it. runs greats, not one problem..

Interesting. I'm not seeing much of a difference. Quadrant scores went from 1611 on adryn's 1.8 kernel to 1789 on the 1.5ghz. Seems very low for both. Wonder what's giving me issues...
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
I get 2200+ on quadrant at 1.5ghz.. and 2700+ at 1.8ghz using Drod's kernels..
Can't wait to try his 1.9+ kernels soon
This is absolute insanity, I can't believe this but I was running this kernel to the max (1.5ghz) and the performance was insane. 2200 - 2500 quadrant scores (even one 2532). Well, drained my battery to 15% after about 3 hrs using "ondemand" scaling. So I flashed adrenelyn's 1.9, phone ran perfectly smoothly but I wasn't happy anymore with kernel scores in the 17's and 18's. So I reflashed drod's kernel and have been running at 1209 mhz (2064, 2216, 2092 quads.), phone is still super responsive and it is now 2 in the morning, I have been running it since roughly2pm and I have 37% battery left 12 hrs. later (ondemand). I have been using the crap out of this phone: 2.5 hrs. phone calls, 1.5 web time, texts all day, followed twitter, did some theme changes. I found my go to kernel for now.
Tried the 1.8 but SetCpu widget kept reporting 1.8 even after I slowed it down. Going into the app I could tell it was follow my settings. Went back to 1.5. Temp to high for me even though stable. I might try conservative setting if widget reports right.

If the 1.8 is the same as the 1.5 you don't need to disable Perflock. It has already been been disabled.
Edit: I just read in drod2169 Twitter that in order to lower the clock speed on the 1.8 you do need to disable the Perflock...sorry.

[Q] dragon ota kernel 1.1.1 (i think)

i never used custom kernels before but overclocking to 1.5ghz is awesome. one downfall, phone gets super hot and my phone restarts. i've heard of undervolting but i have no clue on how to set it using setcpu. i've heard 1.5ghz to be something like -100mv but do i set -100mv to all of the frequencies?

What do you need the phone to do if you want it to be constantly at 1.5ghz?
You can try using Faux's or Trinity kernel. Both have versions that are already UV'd upon flash. Although some chips can't handle UV. Also, I believe you have to use a different app to control your voltage.
When i play games or watch movies i set it up to 1.5ghz and since school is out and no job... im kinda on my phone for a few hours. Also, i tend to forget to turn it down.
Oh yea my bad, its cpu master. I tried -100mv to all frequencies and it'll work for like a minute then it'll freeze and have to pull out the batt.
I'll check out those other kernels but this one has really fast boot. Although, which of the other kernels gets updated the most?

aaahh yea im starting to c wat u mean. keeping it 1.1 and its still good. got used to the old phones under 1ghz and single core.
oh, do guys have to links to the kernels? im trying to find it but its usually part of a rom.
Go in the development section and look for [kernel] in the titles and not ones that say [rom].

[Q] What is a better app then Set CPU?

Set CPU doesn't seem to remember settings very well even though I save them and back them up. I've chosen ondemand profile and still the same problem with not only the settings I've input for battery, screen off, etc but the main screen is constantly different as well.
I'm using SkyIcs with update 7.4 and Faux 10u kernel.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Doesn't matter if its a paid app, but I really need something better that will change the speeds properly as I use this as my "daily driver"
Thanks again!

found that I have to use sys tuner and fauxclock both w/faux123 kernel for everything to go well ..
won't go into deepsleep unless force both cpus online at boot is enabled
running -.75mv across the board except like 450mhz and under which are all 812mv as per faux's recommendations ..
some phones can handle -100mv some only -.50mv
sorry to hear that about setCPU profiles not working was about to try it tonight.
still might ....
only because I'm amazing

system tuner sets the voltages and forces both cores online (which for some reason is the only way deep sleep works)
fauxcpu maintains the 384-1100'ish because systuner doesnt keep it there apparently ..
so it's no good but does all I need done right ?
it's not bad either ... right ....

LeanKernel 12.2 on SynergyROM 1.4

I tried to reply to the main thread in the development thread for SynergyROM, but as I do not have the 10 posts required, I figured I'd put it here. If this is against the rules, please let me know and remove this.
Apparently the busybox install on 1.4 is a little botched, and as such, when you install LeanKernel 12.2, it doesn't run the scripts it needs to in order to run it's magic.
All you need to do to get it to work again is fix the install of busybox on your phone. You can download busybox from the Play store and install it to your phone, and after that, installing the kernel should be relatively easy.
I've been running 12.2 on my phone for the better part of today at work and have had no issues with it at all.
I'd attach a link as proof, but apparently I can't do that either.
This is what I did too and it's working wonders.

I have been trying to decide which one to load
SynergyROM 1.3
or
SynergyROM 1.5
Now I know that imo 12.2 will work
long as the busybox is loaded first.
due to the issues with 12.2 loop booting.
Now I can load 1.4 will let you know how it goes.

The battery saver from the script sets the max frequency on the cpus to 1134000. This can be changed in the script as well. I run the batter saver but change the max frequency to 1350000 for both cores. I do not believe the kernel has underclocking abilities currently, but I may be wrong. Definitely snappier with the kernel than without. The combination of the two is excellent.

Want to post in the synergy thread but now enough post counts -_-
Anyone can think of a compelling reason to not jump for synergy 1.4 with the lean kernel 12.2 and wait for synergy 1.5 instead? Eschelon made it sound like it would drop soon and I'm just trying to gauge from the comments on the synergy thread if there are major problems.....main things that bother me are battery life degradation claims and 4G speed variances.
Bonus: A tad off topic, but I was wondering if anyone running the synergy roms replaced their touchwiz apps with aosp apps? Reason I ask is because I cannot live without the ICS email client and prefer the messaging client as well.
Thanks for the heads up from everyone confirming the busybox issue with 1.4 to be compatible with 12.2 lean kernel.

If you want to play around with Google Now then go for 1.4. 1.5 will not require a wipe according to eschelon. I've found the battery life on 1.4 to be close to par with 1.3. Maybe a little more battery hungry, but not much.

CPU frequency getting stuck at highest frequency

I've looked and searched everywhere but I can't find anything like this. On all of the JB roms, all of a sudden, my CPU frequency sits at the highest speed and won't move no matter what governor I use. Is there any way to solve this, I'm really at a loss. I installed CPU spy and it's showing that deep sleep is not used and that only 1200 MHz(the highest CPU setting I'm using) is being used. Help please. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, tried that already, a few times. I think it has something to do with my sd card. I'm gonna format it and see what happens.
So..I went all the way back to stock, and came back to JB and still experiencing the same problem. When I flash a JB rom, the CPU frequency gets stuck at the highest frequency until I select a different governor and reselect the one I want to use. Any help would be appreciated.

well try and see if it works. if your using beanstalk, then you can just use the BLN control - free app that scott has included as an addon. this app will enable BLN with timeout. you just can't change the blink speed with this app.
Well I disabled nstools and everything seems to be back in order. I'll report back if I see something else.
