It was posted as an informational purposes only with the link as its now compatible on at&t network. I don't know how many times you check out the nexus s thread if you own a captivate, I don't and I'm sure many more won't either. You can't really blame them as they've put up with people who thought they were too good for the rules for so damn long. We'll ignore the fact that when you first show up in the Infuse forums, there's a forum labeled Q&A. Common sense would dictate that maybe questions should go there.
So you already showed a lack of common sense by skipping over a forum plainly labeled Q&A for all the world to see. After running blindly past that forum you ended up here in the development section. I mean yeah you really shouldn't be tossing random questions here but I could see how it could confuse you, here you see TWO CM7 threads, wow you hit the jackpot!
But once again instead of taking a minute to check those posts out, instead of using the handy dandy search tool up there ^ and instead of at least posting in one of the other CM7 related threads, you decided to say **** IT to common sense and created a brand new thread for your question.
You aren't special, the question has been asked and answered elsewhere, go forth and find the answer you seek.

I would have hoped that after 46 posts you would have some idea of where to post things, but I guess not. Ya, it was a sarcastic (yet funny) reply, brush it off and move on.

i mean cmon dude. its a question. if you connect the dots, it can easliy lead you to the Q&A... i do not see one bit of android development here... development of flaming is freaking blossoming though.

our devs who left left for a better phone with better software support that isn't held back by that carrier since it can have software ported from the international version but they each may build one last rom when att drops gb, mikey is still answering in his thread and he and gtg both indicated that they may give it one last shot when the official gb drops. also entropy is still here, though he also got a gs2.

dude it's the internet, dont be so sensitive. oh and ask a mod to move this to Q&A never mind just ask it to be closed. when you get to Q&A you will se that there is a cm7 Q&A thread already there, plus closing this will stop the flaming.
what was that question again? it got lost in the flaming and belligerent defense of ignorance. a lot of us when we are newbs do something against the rules and get our peepee spanked for it. you are not unique. defending yourself sounds a bit like "hey i dont know the rules even though they are stickied in multiple forums in bold letters, why should i have to follow rules i dont know?" sorry to be a **** but this is the internet and that's how it is.

What could we expect...

If LG were to release ICS on the G2X? I see devs making great ROMs for it yet are hindered by a lack of drivers, which I assume would be part of an official ICS update. Any devs care to comment?

Not really. Pricks like him are abundant on forums, even the respected forums here on XDA. Still, just saying "what isn't working now will work" is not enough. With those broken features working, could devs be motivated to step up custom scripts and mods that go beyond even what's available now?

Respected forums? Xda? Maybe like before Android, not anymore now.
A lot of people are just disappointed with the same questions being asked like 5 times when you could just click a page or 2 back and see the same topic already discussed.
We just need an active moderator for these forums to merge the redundant topics together.

I don't know, I got my ass warmed for spamming, but then they hired me to spam professionally. I'm not trying to start anything, mt3g we've been down that road, accomplished nothing. Anyhow, my question is, and I understand basically, but why do you guys worry so much about people starting new threads? Its not using any storage space that would affect any of us. When a new thread is started, no matter if there's a thousand just like it, it promotes social gathering and in most cases, usefull information. But(never start a sentence with this), when you guys run your cruisers down here and go Gestapo on the op's, that's even more useless than the duplicate thread. Now, instead of a duplicate thread with new and useful information, its a duplicate thread with new and useful information that's been cluttered by flamers and rent-a-thread cops. Does it make sense? I'm really trying to be professional here, but guys, listen, I was a mod for 2 forums prior to working for XDA and I'm gonna tell ya, playing forum God got old within 5 minutes. You don't know our mods are not active, I got disciplined when I screwed up. This is the sloppiest and most unorganized phone e section I've read... the MyTouch 3G and G1 are still modded it seems, the O2X is incredibly controlled... the tempo and mood would be a lot better and here from a lot of members some would stick around and others wouldn't leave. I'm surprised whitehawkX came back and EaglesBlood is still here... if I'm that big of a problem the mods will come and say something to me and I will behave but until then.... deal with me I guess.

That's the only reason I'm still with the g2x, I'm saying the repetitiveness of useless threads ("how do you update baseband, and how come I hear these noises when I call someone after installing this rom, I'm coming from 2.3.4 I received yesterday.") anything of that nature is what's wrong with this forum.

I'm coming to the G2x from a few other Android phones (LG Optimus V & Motorola Triumph) and it was hard to find the relevant and important info here even though I've written guides & developed for other Android phones before.
There's no need to depend on moderators, just a default thread to point everyone to with a FAQ section (maybe eventually sticky it or put it on the top of the stickied thread). Then it should be updated regularly by a person with good writing skills. or even a wikipage on github that a select few can update so the burden isn't on one person. Anyway I know it's towards the end of the G2x's lifecycle (until official ICS maybe), so none of this may matter, but just suggesting for future reference. Good, clean, & simple documentation prevents a lot of repeated questions.

Hey guyz! I found this Galaxy S4 ROM and, since I have a Galaxy S2, I figure it will be at least half compatible because, I mean, 2 is half of 4 right!?! Is this logic correct? Also, if I put this ROM thingy into my phone, will it make it equal to a Galaxy S3?

You'll have to stop the flash half way through or you'll get a bricked s4. If you stop the flash a quarter way thru your s3 will be fine.
Edit: if you get the bricked s4 just use the dbag service to get it fixed. Just Google dbag

I have since received a couple PM's by some very sincere users who want this thread to go on. So---- I have reopened and have also subscribed to continue to monitor this thread.
My opinion below still stands, there are already a couple threads that, if you used search, most users would find what they need. But, as this thread is covering all the other stuff, I have reopened it.
Trolls and flamers have no place in this thread and will be infracted, no more warnings.
(my earlier statement)

[Q] Question in regards to posting

I've just tried posting in the Samsung Galaxy SIII Development section and was prevented from doing so with an error.
Is this normal procedure?

Do you have an S3 or the Blaze? If you have a Blaze, then you're all good posting in our Forum and I apologize for the vitriol. If you have the S3, then we're saying go there and quit using our forum to raise your numbers. Jeezus, it's not that complicated...

I shouldn't be answering this question as you can see I did not provoke this attack from you guys, I initially took the whole thing as a joke until I saw the response from Thomas Raines which changed my whole perception.
I've been here longer than what my profile suggest just that I don't post as often as I would like to and secondly I lost my original login profile, I would like to think that that is not the reason you guys jumped on me because of the low count that I show on my profile which is wrong since I did not provoke or antagonize anyone here.

In my OP I was merely asking because the issue I'm having with Blaze is with one of the radios that is based off of S3 and I wanted to post about the problem, but I couldn't and since the Blaze forum is the only one i can post at, that is the reason why I decided to ask the question in the general forum which I thought should not have been an issue. I just wished you guys would have asked me first before jumping on me, but I do see the misunderstanding and I accept your apologies.

It wasn't a profile thing, I don't even look at post count. I honestly thought you were an S3 owner trolling the Blaze forum to up your count. I'm glad you accept my apology, because honestly, there's not many of us Blaze owners left!
On the radio issue. I didn't know there was an S3 radio that's compatible with the Blaze. Have you tried all the Blaze and S2 radios?

Which to us in the Blaze forum, insinuates you are the owner of an S3 and not a Blaze. Because we have had issues of new users NOT reading the rules and trolling our threads, as well as many others, to "get their numbers up", we had much reason to believe that is in fact what you were trying to accomplish. Your question told us nothing that was related to the Blaze or the exhilarate (a device in which is covered in this forum as well). In addidtion, I have been a member of XDA for quite a long time, and the rule of 10 post minimum has been there since before I came along. With all these parameters in place, I think you can see why we were all a little upset that you had posted in our forums. As we can see now, however, you do have a Blaze and I apologize for our attacks on you. Please be aware that we will help all those that come correct. So, for future reference, please post your issue and device as well so there is no confusion.
I also did not ask the mods to delete you, rather than point you in the right direction. I don't ask that anyone be banned, rather than reprimanded, educated and point in the right direction...
