wow that looks really good, it even comes WITH a Battery! hmmm tempted.... nice to have a spare battery but so far these days my battery lasts me the whole day which is all i need... always a good idea to have a spare though

I'm not certain whether that offer is really outstanding...
The battery is sold seperately for 7-8 USD (shipped), the charger is one of those that you'll get for almost nothing. That leaves 18-20 USD for the Dock.
Not too expensive for a dock but for this amount I'll think twice about a purchase.

By all means, if you can find another horizontal dock that looks like it will fit nicely with the G2 + an extra slot to charge an additional battery please...post away.

I held off on ordering one after hearing his feedback on it... Hopefully they have some more selection in the next few weeks.

It showed up today! I will post more later, but everything works fine. Get it with confidence.

Battery goes in upsidedown (versus what the stock battery looks like. Still 1300 mAh.
Base doesn't lean back as much as I thought it would. This definitely works with the T-Mobile HTC G2. Using the battery right now. Used the dock to charge same battery and connect to the computer to download the photos.

I wonder what's going on... My first one was returned because it had a chunk of plastic or something under the glass, but my second seems okay. (Besides running much too hot for just surfing, reading, etc.)

The silver version still shows as in stock. Curious.

You shouldn't have heat issues from just surfing websites or reading, at least I never have on my A700 Silver. It does get a little hot while gaming from the cpu/gpu running full speed, but its not unbearable, and with the way I hold the tablet it doesn't interfere with what I'm doing. I do run a task manager to kill the 12-15 programs running that I never use, and have rooted to remove the bloatware that I'll never need. Its been a great tablet so far... I hope you get this resolved.

Also, Amazon is the ONLY one doing this, let's not jump to conclusions, remember, the new iPad had "heatgate" issues, only to turn out they were more hype than substance.
Edit-This could simply be a case of something in the description being wrong, Amazon has done this with other products (ie.the Pentax K-5, one of THE best DSLR's out there), only to have them go back on sale soon after.

Wow! They must've JUST removed it... only minutes after I went ahead and processed my return authorization and label (long story, but I figured this way I have until 7/23/12 to continue testing it if I have to). Obviously, I did not make up what I quoted as having seen on Amazon's website about the problem... but they must've pulled it down shortly after I saw it... Anyhow, I'll continue playing with my Iconia to see if things have improved any now that I have disabled/removed some of what I thought was unnecessary... Hoping for the best...

But when I click on the link you posted here it shows it as available and ready to ship... BUT then from that same page if you click on the part that says "Tablets at Amazon.com. That's weird, everything's a go for both of them here in the US.

Brand new surface pro with blacklight bleeding

Hello.
It kills me to admit that my brand new $ 1200 surface pro has some light bleeding around the botton right and right areas of the screen.
Ive looked it up a but and it seems that this was an earlier issue so I actually didnt think there would be a chance I would end up facing this problem. I havent seen any complaints throughout may-june.
Here are 2 pics:

Second one is with lights out, black image on full screen.
They are both with brightness at 100%, but it really doesnt make that much differene if it's set to 50%.
What do you guys think? I shouldnt be expecting those right? I know that people had much worse bleeds once, but that was before.
I also dont want to keep exchanging till I get a good one, that's too much of a hassle. So if you tell me that all of them are probably be the same I wont exchange.
It bugs me that such an expensive device would present this kind of irritating and ugly problem after 6 months in production.

The thing is im visiting canada right now, and thats where I bought it. The store is called future shop.
Im still within the 14 return/exchange period.
And now im seriously thinking whether I should return it for good, keep mine or get it replaced, hoping the new one would be free from defects.

Get it replaced under warranty. At FutureShop, ideally, but any Microsoft store should replace it no trouble. That's definitely a defect; the backlights shouldn't be *visible* in that way at all.

But what if the next one is the same or even worse? Isnt it likely that he whole batch sent to the sae store would have the same production issues?

Test it before you take it home, get a refund if they can't provide a non-defective model? Leaving aside the fact that it's highly unlikely that an entire production run has a visually obvious defect, this is Consumer Electronics 101. Hell, it's Being A Customer 101. If somebody sold you a defective toaster, you'd take it back under warranty. If somebody sold you a defective Ferrari, you'd take it back under warranty.

I agree. Keep asking for one till you get one that satisfies you. You paid for it, so you deserve to get a fully functional product.

Thanks guys. You encouraged me. The thing is Im aware how most stores behave when such things happen. They will start to make things difficult, creating excuses and so on and on. I hate that.
Also, could you give me some ideas on how to test it for light bleeding in a bright lit store?

request to take it to a storage cupboard?
Here in the UK if a shop starts being awkward normally just just whip your phone out, make it highly obvious that your searching for the trading standards number, perhaps going as far as almost pressing the dial button and then they'll usually give in but from what I hear the US equivalent of trading standards are useless so shops might ignore the same threat.

You're right. That's why I always buy from stores that have great customer service. Microsoft store and apple store at good examples. They just replace it till you're happy

I've had issues like this with my ipad back when I had it. Its not normal and you shouldnt have any trouble getting it replaced if you take it into the shop again. They should know about these things.

I will have the black one since in my country only black and white are available and i'd love the blue one much more. I checked on ebay, only one seller sells an OEM blue battery door but i contacted him and he told me they are production reject and most of his parts dont come with the rubber that make the phone IP67. Does anybody know where i can buy just the back door battery cover?

Also interested to know this.

Nop...i found some 3rd party parts but again, you lose IP67 certification. My only guess would be when Samsung releases the Electric Blue wireless charging door, it's 2 birds with one stone. As of now, they also only have a black and white

I can guarantee no north american carrier will have the blue version at launch. All signs point to that. It might come in the comming months, as usual, samsung releases more colors 3-4 months after launch to boost sales. And as for the wireless charging back, it doesnt increase size, and for 30$, its almost a steal to have an official accesory

It may say OEM but you can very clearly see in the pictures that the seal for the IP67 water/dust resistance is missing. Sadly another batch of backs that failed the test and got dumped.

Sadly yeah. I'm afraid (i dont recall who posted it first) is right. The only way to get blue backs with the IP67 is going to be waiting for samung to release the wireless charging in that color. But they may not do that until they release the blue phone. Which we have no clue how long that might be at this point.

In some countries samsung does sell direct to consumers through their online store, in hong kong samsung has 4 offcial samsung store that sell samsung accessories including battery covers, i've already purchased 3 oem battery cover for the note 3 (orange, brown and electric blue).
Right now it's to early to say if samsung will released them, the phone should only be released any day now.
BTW I think the wireless cover will only come in white and black, and it should be about 1-2mm thicker.

I will not consider a third party cover, cases and S View cover, i've seen plenty of them yesterday in china, the quality is very good, the sad thing is, the rubber seal is not up to the standard to give you a proper seal and i'm sure it will now prevent water from getting in.

It is the outer glass and digitizer, also if you search on eBay (idol 3 LCD) several sellers are offering them for around 90$

Screen problem - is this delamination?
Yesterday this irregular splotch appeared on my screen.
Has anyone seen anything similar?

My Idol 3 is 5 months old. Should I send it in for repair?

I have a similar issue, not nearly as bad as yours tho, mines only shows when the screen is lit and has a black background, its invisible with all other colors so I haven't made an issue of it

Yes. That's where I printed out everything.

Yes,you should send it for repairs at the official repair shop.
You didnt cause that problem with the screen,so there shouldnt be any fee.
If they try to make you pay,cause them trouble because that is a faulty device,not a device broken by YOU.
