[Q] default voicemail number - HTC Sensation

I have CoreDroid Sensation v2.5 and the voicemail number on my phone atm is 901 but for my network its 443 i have tryed changing this in settings via settings>call>voicemail settings but it wont change, can anyone help me with this please?

Did you make any progress on this? I'm having the exact same problem, want to change from 901 to 443.
Says its changed successfully but it doesnt change.
I'm running android revolution hd 3.6.11.
This seems to be a pretty common problem but as yet I haven't seen a solution.

The number you dail to get VM and the VM number are 2 different thing my calling number is 222 on the phone but the VN box number is +117958879890 Virgin ~UK
from the dialer type *#*#4636#*#*
select phone go down to SMSC click on refresh
What does it say??
just save the 443 as number 2 on the fast dial option if you can't work it out

Thanks for your reply, I've done as you suggested and got my actual voicemail number.
I'm not sure how that helps me though......
My issue is that I cannot change the number in settings via settings>call>voicemail settings. When I do change this it say's it's successfully changed but it hasn't. Every time someone leaves me a voicemail my phone tells me to call 901. I tried replacing it with the actual voicemail number, but no joy.
Surely there must be a way of changing this, even if it requires a hack.

Visual Voicemail app, problems! Help!

This issue is concerning the G1 phone.
I recently downloaded an app named, Visual VoiceMail. Its supposed to be somekind of interactive list of all the voicemail I recieve, where I can interact and organize by hand on touch screen compared to calling my voicemail and deleting or saving any of my messages by touchtone.
In order for this app to work I must fill out a free registration form that includes my telephone number.
My issue is, Im not sure if they want the telephone number of my phone (I assume they do) or my voicemail telephone number. Neither phone numbers worked.
I cant figure out why either of these numbers wont work for the registration. Every time I enter in a number and try to sumbit I recieve a notice that says, "!! Registration Failed, Unable to determine this devices phone number."
I went to settings, about phone, my phone number. There was no number listed under 'my phone number' and i dont know why that is.
If anyone has any information on how i can make this app work, or how to fix the status of 'my phone number' so it does have an actual phone number (at this moment there isnt an option to edit 'my phone number') it would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

[Q] MIUI rom and my voicemail?

For some reason my voicemail doesnt work on my phone. I am using the miui rom and under the settings to put in a voicemail number I had my phone number there and it would connect to my voicemail box. I used that number because this rom made the number blank to begin with so I had to figure out a way to access my voicemails. I use att and do not know their access number for my voicemails. What should i do?
yep. on gingerbread sense rom, its your phone number....so, yeah
also, there is a MIUI sticky for future reference.
Thanks for you're help but it actually wasn't supposed to be my number. Its a different one. I found it by using the number under the forwarding options that says what number it would forward calls to once enabled

Att uses a seperate voicemail number so they can deduct it from your monthly amount due to it not being and att number. I always change the default number to my cell number so I don't get charged for the call to voicemail.
Voicemail Issues A Month After Setup
My girlfriend and I both have an HTC Inspire through AT&T. I put the MIUI ROM on both of our phones about a month ago. I set up the voicemails according to our cell phone numbers and it worked for awhile. But now when we both try calling our voicemail box it just rings and eventually says the caller is not available. This has been going on for the past week. Would this be an AT&T issue of a fix that can be done in MIUI? Please help, I cannot find a forum on this topic! Thanks for your help!

Voicemail password setup in MIUI dialer

Does anyone know how to apply the voicemail password in a MIUI ROM?
When I got my first VM with this rom it said I didn't have a voicemail number saved on my sim card. I figured out how to add the VM number in the settings and I can now dial my VM at any time by pressing and holding 1. But it keeps asking for my password.
None of my other phones ever required a VM phone number to be manually entered let alone requiring a password each time I call... including my iPhone 3gs on Tmous and all other roms I've installed on my sensation
how did you figure out how to add your voicemail numbers?

The easiest way...
open up the dialer, tap the options key, settings, in Call Settings go down to Settings, Voicemail settings, Voicemail number... add your telephone number including area code.
I cant remember how to get to the Call Settings from the main Settings screen...
haven't been able to bypass the password entry either.

Can't change default VOICEMAIL number

The default voice mail number that came with the phone is *86
To get to that setting hit the DIALER icon, settings, Voicemail, setup, voicemail number.
It allows me to change that to *86,password# and says it changed it but it doesn't. (password is my numeric voicemail password)
It is a MOTOG on Verizon 4.4.2 ROM and it is rooted.
Anyone experiencing this?

I have the same problem on all the 5 Moto G phones with the Verizon rom. The change just will not stick. I find that strange that one can't make changes to the Voicemail number. Sort of idiotic from Verizon to block this feature.
and for people who are suggestion YouMail is fine but I still want to program the YouMail voice mail number into that slot.
Just want to make this fail save for first time smart phone users.

Thanks....thought it was just me.
I use DIALER-ONE instead of the default dialer (which I hate). You can add a speed dial to your voicemail which works fine.

HTC U11 Voicemail Setup On Stock Dialler

Hello,
I have just taken delivery of an HTC U11 6GB/128GB Dual SIM (all stock / not rooted) and find I am having issues with the HTC stock dialler and Voicemail setup. Basically on the stock dial pad I do not have the voicemail icon on key "1" so I cannot press key "1" to access my voicemail. I have checked under settings for voicemail and my provider and number are set correctly . I have installed a couple of other diallers from the Google Playstore and they have the key "1" voicemail shortcut that functions and dials Voicemail correctly. I have also tried with a couple of different provider SIMS and in all cases with the HTC Stock dialler no voicemail shortcut.
Can anyone offer and advise?
Many Thanks.

Same issue for me. Very strange!
Noticed that when you are actively in a call, however, the VM icon does appear above the 1 key when you click on the keyboard. Slightly pointless at that stage though!! Also no way to assign a speed dial to slot 1.
Probably something to raise with HTC directly?
Same for me. I tried to raise a case with them but for some reason the online form didn't seem to get through.
I will try again and send this link!

Likewise on my Sprint phone

Maybe it's just a problem with the phones bought direct from HTC or SIM-free? Mine came from HTC.
Had a reply as follows anyway, so fingers crossed for an update soon.....
We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties with HTC dialer of your HTC U11.
Thank you for informing us about issue with the voicemail icon and attaching the screen shot.
We have forwarded all data to our developers and expecting Phone app to be updated.
Please, for now use any third party dialer from Play Market.
Also, you can add the voice mail number as a contact and set speed dial for it.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you may have experienced.
Well, I have the U11+ with Oreo 8.0 and this issue is still there.
Maybe if you are back in touch with HTC you can mention this.
For now I'm just using speed dial 2 as my voicemail link.
Just installed the latest update 1.23.709.3 and this issue is still present.
Would be nice to see this fixed!
I was checking the information under the Phone Identity in Settings, and I noticed that under Slot 1 Phone Number, it is shown as, 'Unknown' !!!
Maybe this is the reason (bad coding) why the phone can't set up the voicemail dial feature when hard pressing 1 on the dial pad.

Nope. That isn't the reason. The same happens on my U11 64gb wwe and both my HTC m9's, one Dutch and one UK wwe. All phones show the phone number as "unknown". All phones have the voicemail on #1 speed dial for any carrier as normal.
It is the responsibility of the sim card to instruct the phone towards the correct carrier settings. It could be either the phone or the sim card.
Check the sim card in another device (must be network unlocked) and see if the problem occurs there, if so then the sim card is the problem.
If the test phone has the correct carrier settings and voicemail speed dial works as intended then the problem is the U11.
As for sprint and verizon, if those phones were issued by those carriers then the vmsd will work as the carriers preconfigure the device before shipping.
Have you checked both sim slots?.
Have you spoken with your carrier?.
It could well be that the problem is related to the dual sim feature.. More investigation needed i think..
Did HTC offer any fixes?
My wife just received an unlocked dual SIM U Play and we have the same issue. Carrier is set up. Voicemail number is correct. Voicemail icon does not appear against #1 on the dial pad unless a call is underway.
Press and hold #1 results in a request to select which slot (only 1 in use). Pressing slot 1 results in "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
The only solution I found was to use speed dialing, and assign number 2 with the voicemail number.
