Does anybody know what happens to the link2sd script when installing the new G3MOD 2.4.1 kernel on CM7 A7?
Link2sd always reports that it could not mount the 2nd partition and recreates the mount script.
After flashing back the CM7 1.2 kernel link2sd works fine again.
Is there something I could do to get link2sd running on G3MOD 2.4.1?
use hd2sd...it works flawlesly...

I'm afraid that HybridData2SD is no alternative for link2sd. I do not want to move all my apps to the SD as it is much slower than the internal memory. So want to have most of the important apps in internal memory and the others on the SD.
Link2sd did a great job to achieve this, but it does not work on G3mod 2.4.1 anymore.
Does anybody know why?
How did u get hd2sd to work
after enabling hd2sd when i try to install an app eg Titanium my phone just reboots

One more thing, how do you partion sdcard in stock cm1.3 hv kernel on kyrillos v10 beta 2
Partitioning should work within CWM.
By the way: This is not the Thread to ask such questions.
It's about link2sd. Is nobody able to answer my question why it's not working anymore with G3mod 2.4.1 and CM7 A7?

Hello guys,
This is my first time on the forum, so I hope I'm not going to break any rules without knowing it.
I'm looking for a very stable kernel, but I have a hard time finding one that suits my needs mainly because of my lack of knowledge. I have flashed a few ROM's most of wich were different versions of Kyrillos Froyo ROM's. They came with the G3Mod OC kernel wich worked pretty well overall. Two problems were really bugging me though.
When I pushed the back or home button sometimes my phone would instantly freeze and the only thing left to do was a battery pull, or a long press on the power button.
Second problem was what some refer to as black screen of death, i believe. The phone would'nt wake-up after the screen had been turnt off.
I found that changing the voltages in SetCPU, like Kyrillos says in his FAQ, didn't help. So after a while I flashed the NON-OC ROM and that did a perfect job!
Now I've flashed the ICS Rom build 4 update 1 and it works perfect for me (performance wise, offcourse it still has alot of bugs). The only problem is, again, the freezing and the (not) waking issue. I tried to flash a G3Mod NON-OC kernel, but then the phone doesn't boot at all. When I tried to flash Arakmar's kernel (even tough that is still an OC-Kernel) from the ICS post, the colors seemed inverted or something.
To get back to the question: Is there a NON-OC Kernel that can run ICS? Or is there maybe a solution to get an OC-Kernel working on my phone?
I hope you guys can help me with this.
And I hope I have made a clear post. (since English isn't my primary language)
Cheers.

Do you mean the ics24.zip? Thats the one I tried when it gave me the color bug...
even if a kernel supports OC you don't need to push your phone if it can't take it, try setcpu to put the clock to stock values
Astrum Kernel works quite well but it's still quite buggy. Try Astrum Blackhole when it is released.

Forgot to mention that I already tried that, thats the weird thing about it. The problem was still there.
Welkom!
If you use a froyo ROM i would recommend the fugumod ultra kernel, that one is as stable as hell!

Didn't change anything except for the up-treshold but that didn't seem to make a difference.

Tried that, as I mentioned in the first post. The phone froze on the kernel splash screen :/ (thats called a bootloop right?). I think that kernel could solve my problem if I could get it to work with ICS and it doesn't have the same color bug as Arakmar ics24.zip kernel I tried before.

I finally took the time to try flashing the G3Mod kernel while wiping data, cache and Dalvik-cache but it didn't help. Still stuck at the kernel screen
Any more suggestions on how to get this to work?

My phone likes to be different I guess
There is something else though: when I try to wipe Dalvik-cache just after flashing ICS he doesn't give me the menu where I should comfirm if I want to wipe Dalvik, he just sits there and does nothing, when I push it several times the phone reboots. After I flash the G3Mod kernel and try to wipe the Dalvik-cache it says: "E: Can't mount /dev/block/stl7 (File exists)"
Does this matter or is this something to be ignored?

for that i want clockworkmod recovery...being on the stock firmware .. can you help on that.
well....it's easier method to use pc & minitool partition wizard( it's free)
..or u can try to flash g3mod kernel on your stock rom with odin...via download mode....i think you must be rooted too...
btw on which stock rom are you afterall?

Please.. search!!! Dont crowd the threads!
I have installed Kyrillos rom 9.0 incl non.oc Kernel with odin and updated later to 9.5. Hybrid Data2SD works fine.
Can I simply CWM update with G3MOD_2.4.1_OC.zip ?
I cant find a tutorial for that.
I only found a hint to "wipe Dalvik Cache" after reboot recovery. Is that ok? Is Kyrillos 9.5 and g3mod 2.4.1 compatible? Some users only use Kyrillos 9.4 with 2.4.1...
Thanks, Thomas

Should be no problem. If you have doubts you can make a complete backup in cwm.

thanks.. it works fine now!
with G3 kernels you have CWM
Just a hint for kernel updates:
always have a directory with your actual (working) kernel on sd
if new kernel resides in bootloops or whatever, just boot into CWM and install your old (working) kernel
Normally a kernel update/downgrade doesnt require any backup, but youll never know.
always have a backup available (also on PC! -> SD card may crash!)
If you experience any recurrent problems with a new kernel, just downgrade easily to your older kernel via CWM.
Cheers

Hi there, I've not really been able to find any super-clear information about what the Multi-OS Data kernel option does. I'm wondering whether I can use it to multiboot CM7 and ICS AOKP - I have both working nicely on my phone with the multiboot and the ics26 kernel by Arakmar.
I know that the data will not be compatible between the two, so my real question is does MultiOSData allow for two separate sets of OS data, or does it share one set between two ROMs? If so, I'm guessing that it's not for me!
well...u can try..it should work...i'm able to multiboot betwen my rom, kyrillos v10 & cm7a7..with multiosdata on....

Yes, but they're both CM7 (Gingerbread) ROMs, whereas I'm talking about one Gingerbread ROM and one ICS ROM - and I don't think they store data in the same way. So if the data is shared it won't work, whereas if it's just backed up for each ROM, then it will!

basically it should work..coz multiosdata is created when you switch rom in cwm...so...that means...if you switch frim.cm7 to cm9/aokp...you'll lose system data...but when you'll backup cm9/aokp rom under multiboot (after you make ur desired settings)...then you'll have ur data back when you'll switch back again...but again...i didn't test out this...but it should work fine
