Phone doesn't but hardware does.
Just read that Spice Stellar supports USB OTG and has a cable in the box. So I searched it for my Optimus One. And I came to this

What do you meant by Phone doesn't support but the Hardware does. Do you know the Qualcomm chipset of LG Optimus one P500 supports OTG? or it is just an assumption? :silly:

The phone is unable to supply +5 v to the usb devices, but however if we use a usb y cable and some kernel modifications,we'll be able to use usb on p500.But it seems that no kernel developer is interested in otg.Check this out:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2151159

So, practically the only reason we don't have USB otg in our p500 is because we don't have someone (developer) to modify a kernel for otg?

MMM... I'm kind of surprised that no developer is trying to develop or modify a kernel so p500 can support usb otg.
Try to contact developers, if they can provide some Mod for this or a new kernel.

Any news about usb otg? Is it supported in any of existing kernels?

Well we first of all need a supporting kernel. I remember Dharam and Hillbeast trying to implement it. Don t know what outcome they got though. Ask in thread.

Well what about a flash drive? That doesn't seems pointless.. Imagine a flash drive with 8 or 16 gb of movies..
Also a keyboard would be useful to type an email.

we can use a standard usb otg cable which is used for phones like the n8 and galaxy s2. techincaly its possible but we need to do the software part.
i have already asked some kernel devs like they said 1st priority is cm7, then cm9
and once both have been achieved to a certain degree then we can start thinking of deving other things. also this mod requires more work and deving then most others. so even when it starts it will take time.

Yes! If you can definitely say, that there are so big differences between Nexus and SGS so that OTG won't ever be working it's ok.
Another question would be if SGS/Nexus S will ever be able to support USB devices with power...
But here i won't be that pessimistic and say that it is not possible from the beginning.

Kernel or hardware issue? It will work with BT keyboard and mouse
But we already have ubuntu on android, only difference is because this will be official way to install it with support from canonical.
I never tried hdmi with ubuntu on my LG, does kernel support loop device support?

No it doesn't support loop device, I have tried and didn't work. So I guess we have one more thing to work with, try to include it in the kernel.
Nahh, Ubuntu we have running on android today is way different than that, this new one will be fully integrated with the phones Android software. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Just a dock for connecting phone with keyboard and/or monitor/TV.

Does anyone with kernel experience want to chime in. I'd like to compile my own kernel then add usb loop support.

you would have to use the adapter to plug in a power usb hub, meaning the hub has a plug in cable to give it power from a wall outlet. Then you could plug the drive into that. The problem is that the phone cannot give power through usb, so nothing would run off it without outside power.

I have heard if i want to use otg, I need to flash some kernel.
But... can it be used on Andriod4. 2.2?
Where can i get it ?
And I know it need to use extra charge...
Sorry for my poor gramer.
I don't know atm any working otg solution for One SV.
It is available.
It can work on Andriod 4.1.2 with some kernel.
Well, if you need I can give you web site.
But I want to work on Android 4.2.

I don't need your website, i know that. But i don't have seen anybody who made it available for One SV.
So if you want it, build it...
I have a kernel with otg support sort of. But it appears the ramdisk is obligated to be modified as well to make it complete which I have not gotten around to doing to confirm otg support on the K2_CL device. I have been busy with something else at the moment.
