[Q] Sensation bootloader for Bell network - HTC Sensation

Is there any news or rumors on the Sensation getting the bootloader unlocked any time soon?

Have you tried http://revolutionary.io or http://htcdev.com/bootloader/?

Just follow this guide and you will be all set.

I do know about the guide to unlock the bootloader. I'm also aware of the HTC dev site, I was just wondering if there are any rumors flying around that the sensation for bell will be on that list soon

Sensation 4G Release and Unlocked Bootloader

HTC Announced that they will no longer be locking the bootloaders; The US edition of the Sensation was specuated to be released on June 8. about a weekish ago HTC made their announcment . The Sensation 4G will be released on June 15 most likely that T-mobile and HTC need to unlock the bootloaders before the phone is released. So the Sensation 4G Will most likely ship with an Unlocked Bootloader
why was this made into a new thread? this info/speculation is in like 4 threads. No one knows if they'll ship with an unlocked bootloader & those that already have the US version don't have an unlocked bootloader. By the time that HTC said they'd unlock future phones the US Sensation was probably all packaged up and ready to go. There's no way they'd recall all of those units, unpackage, unlock, & then repackage them. If anything it'll be an OTA update or something.
Would a mod please close this thread?
Lol. Old news. Ashasaur will probably be here soon

[Q]HTCdev bootloader unlock

Has anyone used the official HTC utility to unlock the bootloader?
Just curious about it, my warranty will be up before I know it and I've never bricked a device beyond repair. I was considering giving it a shot, I always liked my nexus for the official unlock. The Revolutionary header is just annoying haha.
Is anyone aware of any cons of unlocking the bootloader via HTC?
I wouldgo with the revolutionary way.
When doing it the htc way it still shows S-on but unlocked.
I like to have peace of mind and see that mine says s-off

No. HTC unlock only unlocks bootloader. It doesn't give you s-off, and it doesn't give you fastboot write command access like revolutionary does.

what happened to unlimited.io? Can't S-OFF with the site down!

I just got a refurb Sensation 4G back from repair - did all of the OTA's to ICS and now have hboot 1.27.
I'm reading through all of the guides and noob-proof tools, but they all fail to include the control bear folder / JBFiles and just link it to tinyurl.com/JBFile or unlimited.io or unlimited.io/jb_pyramidlocked.htm
None of them load!
Does anyone have these files?

I have the non htc dev version one... Anyways this version will work only as you won't be able to do htc-Dev unlock..
I'll attach the link in a minute

Many thanks ganeshp!
I'll try it.
Isn't it unfavorable to do the HTC dev unlock as it registers with HTC that you've unlocked your phone?

Well there are different opinions regarding this... But anyways I'm sure you can't use htc-Dev unlock so why bother about it

[Q] updating to official ICS

Im a noob here i just wanted to know if i update my htc sensation 4g (on official 2.3.4 with locked bootloader and s-off) to official ics will i loose my carrier unock. I unlocked it using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1232107
Nope. . . Never loose carrier freedom after update
Before updating , I recommend get s off now in case if u want flashing in future .
Coz getting s off on ics ( include wire trick ) is verry difficult than gingerbread. .

Upgrading to ICS

Hi guys,
I am sure this has been asked many times and it's very stupid question. I have reading since last three days and I am still unsure.
I got this HTC sensation from someone. It is rooted and has CWM. I am not sure if it's bootloader is unlocked or not. I assumed that if there is CWM then it must be bootloader unlocked but the attached picture confused me.
I just want to upgrade it to official ics. I tried to use this thread to upgrade but nothing happened. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
Can someone direct me to right path? Please. I will really appreciate.
I am not a noob. Just new to htc phones

The bootloader still locked according to the picture. So go to htcdev.com website and follow instructions to unlock it. You can upgrad to ics either through installing a custom ROM or an official RUU (Rom Update Utility). If you choose the RUU method you will loose the root and the custom recovery but will retain the unlocked bootloader and the soff status.
Read the following guides carefully to be able to upgrad your phone.

Hi,
@ Alsager:
Please stop telling people who are s-off to unlock their phones at HTC.
This is totally unnecessary and could possibly bork their phone in the future...
@ viny2cool:
You need to upgrade your firmware/radio in order to get everything working properly.
The Kohr-Ah thread that Alsager suggested is a good starting point.

Hi,
A locked bootloader will prevent the user from using certain fastboot commands.
If the user has a locked bootloader, this can be unlocked with Kohr-Ah's "HBoot 1.27.1100 Patch (Go from Hboot 1.29.0000 to 1.27.1100)"
