[Q] Installed i9020Tmob version on my i9023 Plz Help

Hello guys,
I have a problem
1st: i unlocked my nexus s
I rooted my nexus s with an tutorial on nexusshacks
After that i got the ICS update. it diddnt worked, so i decide to lock my phone (again) to get ICS on my phone.
So after that is wanted to install the new software but i choosed 1 for the i9020tmob version and i had an european version before. Now my 3G function issnt working cause i dont have TMOB, i have Vodafone.
I also have a problem to connect my phone to USB. It cannot recognize my device. I installed the adb driver. but diddnt fix the problem.
i tried to recover it but when i press applied update from /sdcard-> and choose the update.zip it says:
Finding update package...
opening update package...
verifying update package...
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed.
Installation aborted.
I tried almost all update versions.
Phone info:
Android version: 2.3.6
Smallbandversion: I9020AUCKF1
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-gf5f63ef [email protected]#1
Build number: GRK39F
I tried everything, but i cannt fix this.
Anyone knows a answer?

[Q] manual upgrade to 4.0.4 with cwm

Hi. i would like update my nexus s I9023 from 4.0.3 with CWM and unlocked bootloader from 4.0.4.
all files that i have found is or a full update (from 2.3.6), or a flashable update from stock recovery.
Is there any update can be flashed from cwm, or i shoud made a full installation?

there's an update zip from 403 to 404...
it's up to you whether you make a full installation or just performs an update, the result isn't different.

if i make a full installation all my data will be deleted, right? i wouldn't restore all again!
EDIT:
i've download the zip, but with cwm i can't apply the update. i have the sequent error, after the "verifyng current system":
assert failed: apply_patch_check ("/system/modules/bcm4329.ko", ....
and so on.

[Q] GT-P5100 OTA to JB

Hey there,
I have P5100, PDA P5100XXBLH4, CSC P5100XXBLH3, stock 4.0.4, no root, stock recovery. Can i use German OTA leak (needed PDA P5100XXBLH4 Final PDA P5100XXCLI3) zip from samsmobile to update my tab?

There are guides in the dev section to do this.

But I dont want to root my phone, as well as i dont want CWM recovery, i want it to be stock, and wonder if can I can use this OTA zip update and flash it via stock recovery

so i tried to simply use OTA update zip from samsfirmware, and i got this error:
"Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted."
what does it mean?
after it i reboot tab and ir turns on normally, all fine, version still 4.0.4

It means you need CWM recovery.

thanks, got it. Just one more thing to clear up, my current firmware is for Baltic region SEB 4.0.4 , and this update to 4.1.1 is German OTA, however the PDA code is the same for both P5100XXBLH4. So question is can I root, get cwm and update with OTA zip, or i should first flash German firmware and then proceed with updating?

Flashing rom with stock adb sideload

Hi, I am in a weird situation where I am trying to flash any ROM on my galaxy tab A (sm-t585) only using the stock adb sideload, but i keep encountering the same problem with each ROM where is says "E:failed to verify whole-file signature" and "E:signature verification failed". so if anyone know what's causing this and how to fix it , please let me know.

You can't flash a custom rom using your stock recovery. The reason is, the stock recovery is used to flash the official update files from Samsung. All the update files from Samsung are signed by Samsung own keys. But the custom ROMS are not signed by Samsung's keys. So, the signature verification will fail. Thank you, i wanted to try download update from samsung official website but i can only install it from odin and when i try adb I get "Xfer0.00x" error . Is there anyway i can install a samsung firmware with just stock adb? and if yes would it wipe my data?

No. Samsung firmware files don't have an updater script. So you have to use odin

That damn can't downgrade message!

I tried to downgrade my phone to earlier Samsung firmware, but the download failed with "pit_flash_binary unsupported version". Now I wonder - would I get out of trouble if I installed some custom bootloader, then restored Samsung bootloader, then uploaded older firmware? If yes - can I get a link to some instructions?
