Hi, I am in a weird situation where I am trying to flash any ROM on my galaxy tab A (sm-t585) only using the stock adb sideload, but i keep encountering the same problem with each ROM where is says "E:failed to verify whole-file signature" and "E:signature verification failed". so if anyone know what's causing this and how to fix it , please let me know.
You can't flash a custom rom using your stock recovery. The reason is, the stock recovery is used to flash the official update files from Samsung. All the update files from Samsung are signed by Samsung own keys. But the custom ROMS are not signed by Samsung's keys. So, the signature verification will fail. To overcome this, you will need a custom recovery like TWRP. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-official-twrp-for-galaxy-tab-a-10-1.3995181/

No. Samsung firmware files don't have an updater script. So you have to use odin

Hi guys, I just got a new Note. I was able to flash CWM Recovery using odin. After this, I flashed the stock recovery and booted it up. I tried updating the software via OTA, but after it reboots trying to update, it says update failed. It fails at 24% when the android symbol comes up after booting
Please help me
no help yet??
I'd bet $100 you didn't reset flash counter before flashing stock recovery....
Agree.
U have to reset counter, flash back stock recovery.
OTA is urs.
Sent from N7105, at the corner of this rounded earth.
Most curious. AFAIK, OTA's will fail without stock recovery.
It seems the OTA's check for root or altered rom files, this has been my experience anyway, and if found to have been altered fails....
Ive searched all over but i cant seem to find the .tar file i need to flash for n8013 ueclk8 stock recovery so i can recieve updates should there be any. Get the stock recovery there. I believe from everything ive read, to receive OTA you must be stock, unrooted with a device status as normal or official. As long as you're rooted, no OTA.
Stock recovery for all devices should be same but incase you hit a road block and cannot find it anywhere just flash the firmware for your device again and it will automatically install the stock recovery
Before flashing stock recovery be sure you use triangleaway to reset your binary count

Ahh. okay thanks.
I used rom manager to install cwm. It said it was successful, but now i get the "Verizon has detected unauthorized software" when i try to boot into recovery. Can i safely install stock recovery. If so, what is the safest method?

I think this is caused by bootloader, locked by 4.3 update. I do not know the answer to your question, however I have an additional one to whoever knows the answer: is there any custom recovery at all, which is known to properly work on 4.3+?

If your on the locked bootloader 4.3 ML1 the only custom recovery option you have is safestrap, no cwm, twrp or philz
From my CM11 S3
but i actually used rom manager to flash the custom recovery and it said ti was a success. but when i try to enter recovery i get the Verizon error. i need to know if i can use safestrap or any other method to flash the native recovery back, so i can use the stock recovery.
or am i getting the Verizon error because i rooted my phone?

If you have Odin installed on a Windows computer, flash the VRUDNE1 tar in the PDA slot. This should restore your phone to stock, VRUDNE1 4.4.2 stock firmware. You also will lose the data on the phone itself so choose your download wisely.
Download Odin from this post. Run Odin on your Windows PC, select PDA, then find the VRUDNE1 4.4.2 tar that you should have downloaded. Odin only flashes .tar or .tar.md5, it will not flash any files with anything else.
My son's XT1031, which has an unlocked bootloader and TWRP recovery, has been continuously requesting to install an OTA update (221.31.4). I tried to install the update zip file I found in the /cache directory but it fails to install. Does anybody know how to install the OTA with a custom recovery? The phone is stock Android 5.1 (221.21.56) otherwise.
Thanks in advance.

Hello. Is it possible to flash the stock Pie Rom from Sammobile through TWRP? i now have Hadesrom which is PIE also, but i want to revert to Stock PIE. And in Odin i get error when i try to flash. The device is OEM unlocked. I believe it is a bootloader error, but i don't know how to repair it. The rom i want to install is the official one for my phone. Any idea would be appreciated. Thank you.
Yes it is possible
