hey guys i hope some one can help me out here.
i just bought a Samsung galaxy s2 so i downloaded Odin and rooted it i currently am using
model number gt-i9100
android version 2.3.5
baseband vr i9100xxki3
kernel vr 2.6.35.7-i9100xxki3-cl577579 [email protected] #2
build number gingerbread.xxki3
here is the problem im having. i downloaded rom manager. i follow the instructions to flash clockwork rom when i click to install the CyanogenMod 7 mod it restarts the phone and while trying to go into the clockwork recovery i get this message half way through the start up
---installing package...
finding update package...
opening update package...
verifying update package...
e:failed to verify whole-file signature (in red letters)
e:signature verification failed (in red letters)
installation aborted
what am i doing wrong? what can i do to fix this and how can i get the latest rom from CyanogenMod installed on my gs2?
please help me im very green!!
roms
i think i have figered out my issue the reason i cant flash back to stock bell firmware or any roms is because the xxki3 firmware i downloaded was a tar package which contained a bootloader file. apparent (correct me if im wrong) but that bootloader package had checksums in the firmware which only alows me to boot my phone with the xxki3 firmware. so does this mean i cant change and im stuck with this software? is it possible to get bells stock firmware but is it possible to get the stock bootloader file? or am i just plane screwed and should be luck that at least my phone still works?
Hi All,
Ive got a non-branded Nexus S, running on Official Stock 4.0.3.
I just got the OTA for 4.0.4 a few days ago but so far i have not been able to install it. My phone downloaded the OTA then I tried flashing the OTA update with stock recovery, but it says "failed to verify whole-file signature".
Tried installing the OTA update with CWM, but it gives me status 7 error.
When i hit restart and let it install on its own, it gets stuck on android guy. and after pressing vol up+power, it gives me the same error: "failed to verify whole-file signature".
I have stock recovery, stock official rom, locked bootloader and rooted.
Can someone please let me know how to install this?
any ideas?....

Try deleting the update and wait for OTA again, sounds like a bad download

Nexus S - Baseband
Hi,
I am having similar problems with my Nexus S. Here is the info:
Model:Nexus S I9020A
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband: NO DGSXXKI1
Kernel: 3.0.8-g6656123 [email protected] #1 Thu Feb 2 16:56:02 PST 2012
Build: IMM76D
Product name:HEARING
HW VERSION: REV 16
BOOTLOADER VERSION: I9020XXKL1
BASEBAND VERSION: I9020XXKI1
CARRIER INFO: ATT
SERIALNUMBER: 37335082822D00EC
LOCK STATE: UNLOCKED
Problem 1: The baseband on Settings is different from the one on the recovery menu and I think this is making me lose signal (which is my major problem), isn't the baseband supposed to be I9020AUCKJ1.
Problem 2: I tired installing the Incremental Update IMM76D from GRK39F to try to fix the baseband using the stock recovery (ie. Volume Up Power On, then Power Volume Up for blue menu and selecting recovery, then selecting the file named update.zip which I downloaded, renamed and placed in the root folder) I got the file from "randomphantasmagoria.com/firmware/nexus-s/i9020a/" and I get the e: signature verification failed error
Please help me, I'm new at this but I cant figure this out!
Thanks

You most likely modified the stock rom in some way. Like removing amazon mp3 store apk etc.
Since you're rooted you can download and flash a rooted stock rom. You could download the official factory images and manually flash them with fastboot. That would require you to unlock the bootloader though.

incremental updates only work when you have the right update for the right ROM. Since you are already on 4.0.4 you can't really the patch to"fix" things. I've not recently checked the status of the ota's but check to see if there is a full ROM version, you should be able to apply that. alternatively, you can apply a zip with the correct modern either through adb out cwn.

the only thing that i rem i changed about this stock rom is that i rooted it, but you might be right.
can you plz give me the link for downloading the official factory images? (or extracting them from RUU?)
I'm on ICS 4.0.4
I received the OTA update for Jelly Bean but I got an "failed to verify whole-file signature" error. This is the second time this has happened :crying:
Baseband Version:
I9020XXKl1
Kernel Version:
3.0.8-g6656123
[email protected]#1
I'm only rooted. What can I do?
From reading around it seems I have to flash a kernel, but would anyone know which?

To update straight from OTA you need to be totally stock. Having custom recovery, custom kernel, etc, won't work. That said do you have CWM installed? If so just flash the OTA from this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1784497
I was trying to update rooted phone with 4.0.4 to stock 4.1.1 from Tmobile (TMOUS 3.14)
I was updating from a computer. I got an error while "checking signatures" I'm not sure why. the error code was 132.
Any idea why this is happening?
relocking the bootloader did the trick.
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to install the latest Cyanogen Mod, but when I do, I get an assert error. I figured out through research that this is because the newest versions require an updated bootloader. So I naturally found the latest bootloader for my model and pushed it to my SD card to install it. However, when I try to install it with CWM, I get an error saying "You cannot flash from your current bootloader version. Current version: T999UVDLJA (Status 7).
I must have stupidly installed the wrong bootloader for my device? The strange thing is that my phone is a t-mobile phone, or so it says on the back, but the "about phone" section of my settings tells me it's the model SGH-I747, which is ATT. I bought it used, so I have no idea which it actually is. My question is, how do I change my phone's bootloader to the newer version so I can install the latest CM?
Thank you in advance!
EDIT
I have found that my model is definitely SGH-T999. It seems that my CWM is installed for ATT, and so is my current version of Slim Rom. I am unable to install the CM Rom due to the fact that my CWM doesn't accept tmo files, and my bootloader isn't compatible. So now what?
