[Q] Wi-fi range - Galaxy S Plus I9001 Android Development

Hi,
I've installed 2.3.5 xeo and the quality of wifi signal decreased in comparison to 2.3.4. 2 m. from ruter I loose 50% of signal. Do you have any idea why? How can I solve the problem?
Sent from my GT-I9001 using Tapatalk

at 2.3.3 the signal also very bad. You confirm 2.3.4 signal OK?

have u confirmed that the signal quality and speed actually decreased? or does it just "show" a bad signal range? two different things u know
Sent from my GT-I9001 using XDA App

signal range in galaxy reallly bad
for example i have nokia x6 tooo. in 1 place x6 have 97% signal , galaxy have 2 or 3 %

for me wifi range is good enough and i haven't observed any difference beetwen 2.3.4 and 2.3.5 firmware

The 2.3.5 rom shows very poor range, about 25% less than 2.3.4. Because I've changed the rom I can't compare the real speed or stability now.

Thought I should post here instead. Virtuous has released a full sense 4.0 ROM for the Desire S amongst other devices. For anyone wishing to try it out:

I'd be interested in user feed back as to the speed and fluidity of this ROM when compared to say fallout and then Endy?
As I won't have yet opportunity to try sort myself until the weekend

The ROM runs smooth did not find any issues.
Will be used for daily ROM needs.
Great design, and performance.
Working: Camera / Camcorder

Working: FM Radio
WiFi Hotspot not tested.

Camer and 3d games working? Is this better than ice ds?
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda app-developers app
Camera and 3D games do work. It's slightly slow as compared to Fallout, since the One S has 1 GB RAM and we only have 768 MB. Killing apps via task manager solves the occasional lags. It uses the stock kernel 3.0 I recommend you switch to it as soon as you have time, it'll keep me off JB for a while
Just put it on the Mrs phone it seems to run well so far, the occasional slowdown but nothing to be too concerned about.
Camera and WiFi hotspots are the deal breaker for me.......
In all the Roms I tried the indoor photos doesn't come upto the actual 5Mp quality........ I mean with xperia x10 mini...... I got better pics ..... Don't kno y it show this much difference....... N many of ma friends mostly need my data to be shared......
How is the camera clarity of this Rom.....?? Does it come upto the stock one????

Are there any screen? I already have the Virtuous Saga V.1.0 Rom and I wonder how it looks like with Sense 4... Also because I've tried a couple of Sense 4.0 roms and I didn't like the appearance so much...

[Discussion] Best ROM for best battery life!

Hello dear XDA members and non-members!
I'm sure that I'm not the only one who've been wondering about this. And since there no official thread about this type of things, I will make a thread for it.
My problem is that these ICS/JB ROMs drains the batterylife to 200%. So we need to decide, Gingerbread, ICS or JB. What do you guys think?
For me,
GB - Neo ROM 2.1 on ZSLE5 - No Lags, or call drops! - 3 days Tops
ICS - XXLQ9 Stock with Stock Kernel - Lags alot and calls drop - 2 days tops
JB - CM 10.1 2.4 with new Kernel and One Power Guard Installed - No lags using CFQ Governor and 1.1Ghz OC, No Call Drops- 1.5-2 days tops
For me,
GB - Stock 2.3.5 Indian firmware was the best with battery backup.. Yep, wit moderate usage, even i got 3 to 3.5 days tops.
ICS - Stock XXLQ9 just like fenix said, with stock kernel gave 2 to 2.5 days tops.
JB - CM10.1 2.2 build actually gave me 1.5 days tops, but 2.4 1 day max.
And about lags and call drops, CM doesn't have any if installed perfectly. ICS is bloody laggy.. And GB was better without any lags..
And I thougt the battery life would be better with JB, but that have been prooven that it is not.

ICS Battery life ftw
Bb rom 1-1.5 days
Nokia 2110-->Sony Ericsson k750i -->Nokia 5233 --> Samsung Galaxy R
Mazel II ICS ROM with ardatdat kernel 4.2 beta 6, the best so far. 2 days with normal use without problems.
Liquid ROM 4.2.1 with cyanogen kernel. I listen yo spotify on it via WiFi for 8 hours straight and get 2 days out of it.

[Q] Purchasing Question

Dear Sensation users,
i am planning to purchase sensation due to these features
- Can be upgrade-able to 4.0.4 pure ics(non-sense)
- can be overclocked upto 1.6ghz
- can be battery life improvable
- can be gaming machine
Does it is worth to purchase Htc sensation ?
to all of that yes
I have some more question,
Does its rooting process is complex ?
I saw two phones.Sensation and sensation 4G,what are their differences ?

if you follow carefully the procedure you will not have any problems
only patience for the wire trick
no differences at all.just only 4G
I bought mine in November and have been happy with it. FWIW, I have a stable overclock at 1782 MHz on core 0 and 1728 MHz on core 1. Mine was already S-OFF and rooted when I bought it, so I didn't need to mess with that. Unlocking, updating firmware and whatnot was simple. Mine also came with an Anker battery and no stock battery, so I'm not sure how they compare. Battery life with the Anker is fine for my needs and better than my last phone. There are two things I can think of that I wasn't totally prepared for when I bought the phone. One is that the speaker is pretty ****ty. There are instructions here on how to increase the volume to a more reasonable level, but the speaker is still pretty lousy. Also, these phones get dust trapped under the screen. I can't see it in a dimly lit room, but it is noticeable and a bit annoying under bright lighting. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

if its speaker is lousy is not a problem but its dust trapped is kinda real trouble for me cuz everytime i just put my phone on a dust surface or dust place.Need to use its alternate case for the protection
What about its gaming performance on CM9/10.1 ?
gaming
The gaming is pretty awesome. I would suggest rooting the phone and flashing CyanogenMod 10.1 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2115520 )
Android 4.04 may shore some signs of lag, but with android 4.2.2, the lag is gone ( thanks to project butter )
I would suggest 4.2.2 for gaming. Also, I can over clock my phone to 1966 Mhz.

1966mhz overclock ?
Does its CPU is will be fry ?
cpu overclock
Sorry. Its not 1966 MHz but 1944 MHz. I never had an issue with the CPU being too hot. I have the app setCPU installed on my phone and that's how you over clock it to 1944 mhz. You never really need your processor at that speed for games though. I usually set my CPU at a max speed of about 1600 MHz because it uses a lot of battery if you set your CPU too high..
Sensation users,
How was the stability of the phone ? (such as touch, performance, gaming etc)
Honestly, I own a Sensation and it was a great phone when it was released. But nowdays, I find it a bit hard to understand why you'd still recommend it to anyone.
-It most likely will never get Jelly Bean from HTC
-the hardware doesnt get any younger
-if you're unlucky you get a device with the dust-under-screen problem
stability

I would rate the touch screen 4.8/5 because it rarely glitches
Performance 4.2/5 its good enough for me except for the ppi and video playback
Gaming 4.5/5 the games perform well...occasional lag
Overall i would rate the phone 4.5/5. It's a nice phone (one of the best when it came out) but nowadays it's not a tier 1 phone. There are phones like the Samsung galaxy s4 and the HTC one (m7) that outclass this phone.
The biggest disadvantage to this phone is probably the tiny 1520 milliamp stock battery, but otherwise it's nice if you root it and flash your custom ROM ( I have CyanogenMod 10.1 based off of android 4.2.2)

- Touch screen can be improved with any tweaks
- Video playback can be improved with bravia engine II installed
- Gaming can be improved also with overclocking
and yeah SGS IV and Htc one is an full horse powered phone.Battery problem is a kinda real problem for me,does it has any expanded battery ?
You can get a power skin for the sensation(1520 milliamp) or an anker replacement battery (1900 milliamp)
By the way, how do you install bravia engine II?

I don't think it can work on the HTC sensation because it's posted on the xperia forum. Also the sensation is an armv7 processor

nope.should works on all devices running ICS+,i am also using bravia engine 2 on my device and it makes everything super sharp and clearer. ^^
Dear sensation users,
I saw the Sensation XE used version on market, one thing that i noticed that its touch needs to be a little pressured touch.
PS: in htc explorer.its touchscreen is runs as fluid.
so this is normal on every sensation series have a touchscreen issue?

Jelly Bean vs. Gingerbread

I just wan´t to collect some Opinions which one you like more.
sorry for my bad english
Is this serious surly JB is more and more better then GB.
GB is more stable than JB. If you are a gamer, i advice you to stay on GB
Sent from my GT -I8160 using xda devolopers app
For now, GB is noticeably faster than JB when it comes to games/navigating around menus.
On JB navigating through the system settings is pretty horrible, takes 1-1,5 seconds to get from one tab to another.
JB is more modern though, looks nicer, has a better notification bar, supports more apps.
I'd wait for an official, unbranded JB release before switching over.
No! GB is not beter than JB. When you have right settings on it , it runs few times better than GB. Definitely recommend to flash on JB
Ps. Best for now - MC8 + Italian Job + Supercharger V6 + removed bloatwares + DISABLE AUTO ADJUST SCREEN TONE ( in settings - display, this fix is for lag in games used on leaked versions and some new users don't know about it)
for me
gingerbread is alot better for gaming
but tooo ugly
the jellybean is opposite
weak in gaming and very nice
buhaha GB better in gaming...yeah go for it! Instal GB and come play with me in Shadowgun Deadzone or run Vice Ciy on full...GB have better ram management (now...) but gpu and cpu on GB is 50% slower.
No? Instal RD 3D benchmark. On GB ALLWAYS ON ALL ROMS you get 30fps overal score.
On JB you get 42-45 fps overal score and lern use fps.meter.
I have check some games in that same place/situation and ALLWAYS on JB is more fps. You can feel only droops because ram is not good now on JB but properly settings solved that problems for me.

Ram in games...sometimes are problems if you have less free ram but fps/s is a LOT better on JB
Try on GB with fps meter: Dead Triger on max, Vice city on max and Most Wanted and than on Italian Job 1.0.0 (with fps meter) You will see big deferences on JB+)
Praying for better fitted JB. ZTE blade gets 7k on antutu benchmark but we can't. ZTE is 600 mhz single core. Ace 2 800 mhz dual core. It makes me insane !!

what are the properly settings that can solve ram problems?
please tell us
...because zte blade run another one test hehehehe armv6 have not that sam test like armv7(b) Our device can get 20k on that test...why you compare so slow phone to ours in so bad benchmarks like quadrant/antutu. We have only one good benchmark (Rd3d) because that benchmark allways show that same framerate! Our one core is ~2 times faster than Zte blade. I had that phone before and I know what he can do after OC to 720/760 and CM7 and ...that phone have only good TFT(800/480) If you want you can get on zte blade 5k in quadrant after JIT becaus then quadrant generate bugs in graphics (all is white) DONT USE THAT BENCHMARKS to compare devices. Simply- stock S2 have in Quadrant 3k. Our phone have now on JB 2900+ so my device is fast like S2? NO.
Oh i dont know that point.

S2 have similar score without OC .And what? My Ace 2 Is fast like S2? (...) No! Is ~2 times slower on GPU and ~1-1,5 times slower on CPU…
And we have better score than nexus
Sent from my GT-I8160 using xda premium
If you have lags on JB in games try this:
1. Instal Kyrillosv7b (for MB4) or Italian Job v1 (for MC8)
2. Disable Auto adjust screen tone (Settings-screen)
3. Instal Supercharger for better ram management
4. Delete all bloadware apps (there is list somewhere)
